Webber had told Cristina that there was a new chief of cardio. Dr. Jeff Russell. No one named Jeff had ever done anything substantial. "Dr. Randall?"

"It's Russell."

"Sorry, I'm Dr. Yang," Cristina said.

"Oh, holy crap I've heard a lot about you! I'm sure you know this place probably better than I do so go have fun seeing patients."

"Who is going to assign my surgeries?" Cristina asked.

"You are."

"Sir I'm a fellow," she protested.

"Not from what I've heard. I've heard you're as good as capable as excited about this work as I am if not more go be that way and call me if... you something really cool," Russell said.

At this point, Cristina hated to admit it but she missed Dr. Hahn at least she wasn't lazy as this jeff schmuck who by the way didn't look capable of running a cardio department on his own without the help from his mother.

"I'm Dr. Yang, Dr. Russell's cardiothoracic fellow," she said as she wrote into the patient's chart.

"Nice to meet you, Dr. Yang," an intern said.

"Don't bother sucking up I already hate you that's not going to change. Since most of you will be washed out or fired, I won't waste time learning your names for at least a year. I will call you by your dwarf names. You, "Happy." you... "Mousey."

"There wasn't a dwarf named mousey," one of them commented.

"They saved her for you now get me up to speed on every patient and every chart I want to know this floor better than you do," Cristina stated.

"Right," Happy said.

"Wrong you're surgical interns no one should know this floor better than you. You're "Dopey" now."

"First day as a fellow and not even a single trauma," Cristina complained as she sat down next to Meredith at the Nurse's station.

"I've got this case with a 15 yr old with pains in the abdomen with no reasonable explanation, and I'm working with Alex today so it's going to be a hell of a day."

"I can't believe Izzie followed Addison Montgomery's footsteps into becoming a neonatal surgeon but whatever I'm not bright and shiny Izzie," Cristina sighed.

"How are your jeans?" Meredith wondered.

"Ugh the damn stain won't get off and those are my favorite now I actually have to wear the ones my mother sent me."

Cristina was on her upstairs to her apartment. She had stopped at Joe's to have a few drinks and then picked up a Chinese take-out and a bottle of wine when she heard Callie giggling across the hall from where their apartment is supposed to be.

"Oh hey! I thought you were on call tonight Arizona meet Cristina Yang, my roommate," Callie introduced them.

"Hi, Arizona Robbins it's nice to meet you you're a cardio fellow right?" Arizona asked.

"Yep I brought wine and if you want some you have 30 seconds before it's all gone," Cristina said.

"I'm up for some wine," Arizona said as Callie poured wine into the glasses.

"So do you have a boyfriend?" Arizona asked.

"Absolutely not," Cristina said and chugged her wine and poured herself some more.

"Really? You're incredibly hot I'm surprised there's not a line full of guys waiting to date you," Arizona chuckled.

"This girl is incredibly chatty and nosy," Cristina thought but she sucked it up because Callie gave her a look.

"I've been asked out a bunch of times but turned them down. I just don't see the point if they're going to leave at some point or screw some other whore," Cristina said.

Arizona turned to Callie and gave her a questioning look. "You know me and Ari are going to watch a movie wanna join us?"

"No, I think I'm going to get some sleep," Cristina yelled as she went into her room and dropped onto her bed wondering when she'll meet someone as decent as Arizona and those were her last thought before blacking out.

You look like crap," Meredith said as she leaned to grab patient charts. "Yeah, well that's how I feel. I would say that I would never want to drink again but I'd be lying," Cristina added.

"What was the occasion that I wasn't invited," Meredith asked.

"There was no occasion I just felt like getting drunk last night then I ended up meeting Callie's new girlfriend Arizona she's like a cloned Izzie but is Head of Ped's," Cristina sighed, "It's been a really long time Mere I need to get laid."

"Ask Hunt for a favor. A sexual Favor," Meredith grinned. "He kissed you once you could return the favor back to him."

"Haha very funny there's no way I'm getting involved with someone from the hospital again gossip spreads faster than disease around here plus you remember when George got syphilis from that skanky Nurse."

"And I'm still mad at him about the wine thing," Cristina added.

"What do we have?" Cristina shouted as she pulled on gloves. "Brian Mcwhorter age 11 was attacked by a dog had multiple crush injuries and lacerations on the chest and is still unconscious," Owen informed her as he handed her the chart. "Alright someone page Dr. Karev."

Cristina pulled out her stethoscope."He's seizing turn him to the side!" Hunt yelled. "He's tachycardic," a nurse informed them.

"This doesn't make any sense inject him with Nayzilam now!" Owen ordered her and as the patient's seizure stopped he started coding. "Get him on beta-blockers and charge to 100 clear!" Cristina shouted.

"Nothing charge to 150 clear! He's back," Owen said. "Dr. Yang? I think you should take a look at this," an intern said as he looked at the patient's ankles. "Swollen ankles what the hell? He had a seizure and was tachycardic..." Cristina trailed off. Owen came up beside her.

"Aortic Stenosis?" Owen called out.

"Looks like it," Cristina said.

Cristina was in the CT Booth when Owen came in. "Anything?" He asked as he sat down with her in the booth. "Images are just coming up now," Cristina said.

"Hmm looks like the left ventricle has enlarged I suspected this when I heard a murmur before he started to seize," Cristina pointed out.

"He already had internal bleeding in the abdomen this is going to be one hell of a surgery," Owen said.

They got him to the OR and began the surgery. "I'm stopping the heart and is now being placed on bypass. Mousey why did we decide to go with this approach?" Cristina asked an intern.

"Um, personal preference?"

"Where did you go to Med school Mexico? No, Happy can you tell me why we decided to go with this approach?"

"Patients age and fewer risks of clots forming."

"Oooh happy for the win." Surgery was smooth until the end when the patient went into v-fib. "push 1 one epi and get the crash cart!" Karev ordered.

"Charge to 150. Clear!" Yang yelled. "Nothing, charge to 200! clear!... He's stabilizing let's finish up here and let Dr. Karev take over." Cristina announced that she later found herself in the scrub room with Owen.

"That was intense," he said as they both scrubbed out.

"It was but it's more frustrating when your interns are dumber than preschoolers."

Owen chuckled as they got on the elevator and rode in silence when she suddenly spoke, "You're an ass."

"What?" Owen asked confused.

"Last night when you were leaving you knocked your stupid glass of wine all over me and left me in a bad mood all night and pissed right now."

"Oh crap, I am so sorry I didn't even realize," Owen said making a note to have a plan on making up for that.

"Next time think before you move but whatever I'll just buy some new jeans "

"Did anyone notice?" Owen asked.

"Only Meredith did... it was kinda funny though."

"Meredith?" Owen asked.

"Well you know her as Dr. Grey," Cristina reminded him.

"Wow I thought you were pissed about it and now you think it's funny," Owen laughed.

"Whatever I've got to go check on my Post-ops," Cristina said as she went in the other direction he was going.

"These interns are beating the living crap out of me and I'm this close to strangling one of them," Cristina said as she and Meredith sat down in the Cafeteria.

"That wouldn't be a bad idea I lost a patient today," Meredith said.

"What you killed someone?" Cristina joked.

"Lost literally can't find in addition to losing my patient I also lost my intern turned around he was gone AWOL."

"See what is wrong with these intern's we weren't like this," Cristina complained

"We were great interns," Meredith insisted.

"I was great you were good minus the LVAD wires and Lexie's appendectomy," Cristina said as her pager went off, "Patients waking up I better get up there before one of my intern's screws something up."

"You see this? Meredith asked Cristina referring to the scans in her hand.

"That's a huge tumor on the pancreas lucky you. It's been slow in the Cardio World," Cristina mumbled.

"Looks like I won't be able to meet you at Joe's tonight," Meredith reminded her,

"It's fine I didn't feel like drinking anyways."

"I'll see you later I've got to scrub in on this surgery," Meredith said as she headed for the elevators.

"Uh, Dr. Yang?' Owen asked.

"Did you need something, Dr. Hunt?" She asked not bothering to look up.

"Actually yeah," he stammered as he placed a shopping bag on the counter where Cristina was finishing her charts.

"What the hell is this?" Cristina said as she glanced at the bag.

"The jeans I owed you," he said sheepishly.

"I was joking when I said you owed me a pair of jeans," Cristina slightly laughed.

"Yeah, that's my way of making it up to you," Owen said embarrassed for not realizing she was joking.

"I- this is like 200 dollars worth of jeans," Cristina said in disbelief as she looked inside the bag.

"Well, I got 2 pairs since I didn't know what size you were," Owen said rubbing the back of his neck.

"I appreciate it but I can't take this. When I said you owed me jeans I didn't actually mean it I was kidding."

"Can't you just accept the gift without making a big deal? I spent 20 minutes in the women's section trying to find something suitable for you while getting weird looks from the sales lady," Owen said.

Cristina sighed, "You're not going to leave me alone until I accept the gift right?"

"You can put it like that," he chuckled.

There was an awkward silence before Cristina closed her chart and turned to him, "This was a really bold move... and no one has ever done something like this for me but... thank you."

"Phew I thought you were going to throw the bag at me and tell me to shove it up my ass," Owen admitted.

"I would've but I don't have time to shop so you did me a favor," Cristina said.

"Well I'll see you around Dr. Yang," Owen said as he walked away from her.

Cristina decided she was going to give these jeans to Meredith Owen wouldn't know but that didn't stop her curiosity about the jeans so she went to the attending lounge luckily no one was in there and pulled the jeans out.

"Damn this guy knows how to shop and they're in my size... I think I'll keep them," she muttered.
