AN: Thank you princesselsaamidala22 for your review of the last chapter.
I hope everyone had a good Easter. If you don't celebrate that particular holiday, then I hope your past week went well for you.
This chapter is partially based on the episode Lightsaber Lost. I originally wasn't going to cover this episode but I decided to include it as it's the first time that we see her taking a trip outside of the Temple while on Coruscant.
I did change it a little bit, so I hope you like what I have come up with. For the rest of this, I was inspired by the fanfics The Clone Wars: Captain and Commander by Jade-Max, Protecting and Caring for the Commander by katierosefun and Gentle Repose by GirlwithCurls98.
After bouncing around the galaxy on one mission after another, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Padmè, as well as the 501st and the 212th, are finally back on Coruscant for a much needed break.
Even though Rosella has been enjoying the time she gets to spend with her family, she is more than ready to go back into the field and help bring the war to a quicker end.
Don't forget to leave me a review or any constructive criticism if you have any. No flames, please.
09/22/22: I've given this chapter a small update. I added a description of the training room, and one for the shooting range. I have based the room that Rosella and Rex are in off of the area that is in the basement of the White House in Tom Clancy's The Division 2.
Chapter 18: Venturing Into The Underworld
Rosella nearly laughed out loud as she relaxed on the couch in Padmè's living room, scrolling through the holonet, looking for something that they could watch together. The Senator was in the kitchen, getting them some popcorn. She had paused on a comedy show that poked fun at various things that had gone on before the war but then kept scrolling as she wasn't sure that Padmè would like it.
Anakin had been summoned by the Council earlier that afternoon. Since he wasn't sure how long the meeting would be and didn't want Rosella staying at their apartment by herself, he contacted Padmè and after getting permission, dropped her off after she got out from her last class of the day, saying that she should spend some time with her mother before they were deployed again on another mission.
Her eyes shifted away from the screen as Padmè entered with a medium sized bowl in her hands. "Find anything good to watch?" She asked, setting it on the table before sitting down beside her.
"Not yet," the teenager responded as she looked back at the screen. Then her eyes lit up as she settled on a fantasy - action movie that was about a teenage princess who had discovered that she was the rightful heir to a magical kingdom and was on a journey to claim her throne from her evil stepmother who had cast her out when she was a baby.
As the movie began to play, Rosella sat back with a handful of popcorn in her hand. Plucking a piece and tossing it in her mouth, she narrowly missed hearing the Senator asking how her classes were going.
"They're fine," she replied. "I'm just glad to be free from that stuffy classroom. I don't have nearly as many classes as I did before the war since a majority of the teachers who are able to fight have been sent off to help with the war effort."
Padmè nearly giggled as she remembered her own lessons from when she had been a child and then a teenager. She hadn't liked them either at first, but then grew to appreciate them as the years had gone by. "You'll be thanking your teachers someday when you end up using what they've taught you for something good," she said. Then she smiled as Rosella finished her snack and snuggled up next to her.
"Like you did as Queen?" The teenager asked.
"Yes, like what I did when I was Queen of Naboo," the Senator replied.
An hour later, the movie was finished and the bowl of popcorn was empty. Padmè reached for the remote and turned the holonet off before picking up the bowl. As she stood up, she heard a small beep coming from the bracer that Rosella had put down on the table. The teen had taken it off before going to the bathroom, knowing that Anakin wouldn't be contacting her unless it was for something urgent.
The wrist communicator beeped for a second time as the teen appeared in the doorway. Hurrying over to the couch, she waved the Senator away. "I've got it, Mom," Rosella replied as she pressed the button and spoke in a formal tone. "Padawan Ngaire speaking."
"Rosella, meet me in the lobby," Anakin told her. "The Council wants me to bring you on the mission that I've been assigned to do."
"I'll be right there, Master," the teen responded as she ended the communication. Then she turned to the Senator, who was standing in the doorway. "I'm sorry Mom, but I've got to go."
"I know," Padmé said, softly smiling at her. Then she nodded at the door that led to the formal area of the apartment. "Now go before your father has to come up here and get you."
Rosella smiled and left the room.

It was nearly sunset as Rosella followed her father down one of the side streets of the Slum District that was known as G17. This was her first time coming down to the lower levels. She had, of course, heard the tale of the time that Anakin and Obi-Wan had come down to the lower levels when they were chasing after Zam Wessel, the bounty hunter who had tried to assassinate Senator Padmè Amidala.
Anakin, who had been assigned to capture a corrupt and vile arms dealer who had been seen in the area recently, had been a little hesitant to bring Rosella with him, but as per the Council's request, let her come as he knew that he was going to need help in case the man tried anything foolish.
The district that they were currently in was one of the more unpleasant places on the planet. The bright glow of the neon lights served to only highlight how truly awful the area was. There were crates everywhere, steam was billowing forth from a few vents and with that came the smell of sewer water and garbage. The air, while breathable, smelled like pollution.
As the fourteen-year-old glanced to her left, she saw a male citizen, who was sitting on the edge of a container, coughing. Even though she felt a little sorry for him, she was also a little repulsed by his actions. As she heard his coughing start to get worse, she turned away with a small grimace on her face as she shifted her eyes towards her father, who had stopped for a moment to glance at the man before moving on. She quickened her pace to catch up with him.
The pair rounded the corner and began to head down an alleyway. Behind them, they could hear the sounds of a siren as the police force that was responsible for protecting this part of town was heading to a different sector to deal with an altercation that most likely had been reported.
"The reason that we're here is because the Council wants us to find and apprehend Car Affa," Anakin said quietly so that only Rosella was able to hear him. "He's an arms dealer who has been selling Republic weapons on the black market."
"Just who is he selling these weapons to?" Rosella asked in the same quiet voice.
Anakin moved a few steps ahead and turned around, stopping Rosella in her tracks. "The Separatists," he responded. Then he turned and continued to walk towards the bar. "According to intelligence, he's somewhere inside this place. I want you to stay out here in case he tries to make a run for it."
Rosella quietly sighed and nodded as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Alright," she replied, watching as the door to the establishment slid open and he vanished inside. As it slid shut behind him, her focus remained on catching the arms dealer and bringing him in for questioning even as her eyes wandered around the small area before narrowing as she caught sight of two thugs who were gazing intently at her.
One of them was leaning against the wall next to the bar while the other was sitting on top of a crate with a weapon in his hand. He also had an artificial leg and some type of animal perched on his right shoulder.
Although her connection to the Living Force wasn't as strong as the one that her grandfather had, she didn't need to use it for this situation. She wasn't stupid as she knew what those gazes meant for someone who was her age. Sensing their very immature thoughts, she raised one of her eyebrows at them and uncrossed her arms as she glanced down at her lightsaber that was hanging from her belt.
Giving the hilt a pat, Rosella looked up and tossed a smirk in their direction as she saw their eyes widen. Knowing that the thugs weren't about to mess with her since they now knew that she was a Jedi and not just some young pretty girl who had come down here to have fun, she turned her attention back to the bar. Then she heard the sudden snap-hiss of a lightsaber igniting and the familiar sound of a blaster going off from inside. She looked towards the door, half expecting the arms dealer to make his appearance as he tried to escape from her father.
Her eyes widened as the door suddenly slid open and a crowd of civilians came running toward her. All of them were speaking different languages. As they fled the scene in fear, Rosella noticed that none of the fleeing patrons seemed to notice that she was standing there.
"Hey!" She exclaimed as a Rodian bumped into her. He hadn't been looking where he was going. "Watch where you're going!"
Neither the Rodian nor anyone else heard what she said. Instead, the crowd only got larger as more and more people came running out of the bar. After a fleeing Weequay bumped into her other shoulder as he fled the scene, Rosella got a small chance to breathe and quickly reoriented herself, making sure she stayed on her feet. Then a large and rather heavy looking Ithorian bumped into her and that action alone was enough to cause her to lose her balance.
"Oof!" She said as she fell to the ground. As the teenager sat up, she could feel a few bruises beginning to form on her left side. Sensing that her ribs weren't too badly hurt, she quickly sat up and reached for her lightsaber, only to find that it was missing from its place on her belt.
As the crowd dispersed and began to thin out, Rosella glanced toward the ground, nearly having a miniature panic attack as she didn't see it anywhere near her.
No! I can't believe that I've lost my lightsaber! She thought to herself, knowing that she was going to get in trouble when her father appeared. Quickly centring herself in the Force, she closed her eyes and reached out with her senses, searching for the hum of the crystal that was attuned to her saber. As soon as she located it, her eyes snapped open and she turned in the direction of the fleeing crowd. Once she saw that her saber hilt was in the hands of a fishy being, she didn't say anything as she got up and stretched out her hand, calling it back to her.
Rosella merely smiled as she saw her lightsaber fly out of the alien's grip. Once she had the silver hilt in her hand, she held it up and smirked as the short-statured lowlife looked at her in surprise before running away in fear. Hooking the hilt back onto her belt, she turned around, sensing that her father was coming out of the bar with the dealer in his custody.
Anakin pushed the hooded male Weequay, who was in cuffs, ahead of him as they walked out of the bar.
Rosella noticed that the dealer kept his head down so she couldn't see his face. If she was being honest, she didn't care what he looked like. All she cared about that the fact that she had recovered her lightsaber from a would-be thief and that their mission had been a success.
"How did things go out here?" He asked.
"Next time, warn me before you do something like that," Rosella told him, a disapproving tone in her voice. She had nearly panicked upon seeing the crowd of people rush out of the bar. "I almost lost my lightsaber."
Anakin glanced over at her belt and saw the familiar looking hilt hanging there. "Hey, at least you got it back," he responded. "If you hadn't, then we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now." Then he shoved the dealer a little, forcing him to start moving as he walked past her. "Come on. Let's get out of here and head back to the Temple."
"Yes, Master," Rosella said as she turned around and followed him out of the alley.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Once they got back, the pair made their way through a few empty corridors as they headed towards the detention area that was set aside for criminals to be held and questioned by the Jedi before being handed over to the authorities.
As Rosella trailed a few meters behind her father, she glanced up at him and then back towards the ground as she withheld a yawn. "Master?" She asked.
Anakin placed his other hand on Car Affa's cuffed arm, causing the dealer to stop moving as he turned around to face his apprentice.
"Yes, Rosella?" He responded.
"Is it alright if I head back to our apartment and get dinner ready?" She smirked a little, knowing that by the time he got back, she would probably be in bed.
"Sure," he responded, turning his head and jerking it towards the man. "I'll take care of our little friend here." Then he shoved the Weequay forward as he took him away to be questioned.
Rosella let out a small yawn as she walked down a side hallway and then headed towards the main area so she could take the turbolift down to the floor where their apartment was located.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
After arriving at their apartment, the teenager headed into the kitchen and got to work making a simple, but healthy dinner from a recipe that Padmè had recently sent to her. When the food was ready, she dished it out onto two plates and put her fathers in the cold box.
Picking up her plate, she grabbed a spoon and a fork out of the nearest drawer and walked over to the table. Sitting down, she ate her dinner in silence. Once she was finished, she got up, headed into the kitchen and washed her plate as well as her cutlery. Then, after shutting off the water, she placed them in the drying rack that was next to the sink.
After cleaning up the kitchen, she shut off the lights and headed to her room.
When she got there, the first thing she did was unhook her lightsaber from its place on her belt and place it on her nightstand. Then she took off her belt, hung it up on the hook that was on the wall behind the small table and turned around, heading towards the small dresser that stood against the wall facing her bed. As she drew near, she smiled at the family pictures that were displayed on top.
One was a photo of her, Padmè and Anakin that had been taken after her official adoption on Naboo, another one had her and Ahsoka in it. The third picture was of her, Padmè, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Ahsoka had taken it in the Room of a Thousand Fountains.
Opening one of the drawers, Rosella reached in and pulled out a light pink nightgown. She closed it with her right hip as she turned and walked back over to her bed, laying the article of clothing on top. Realizing that she needed a shower, she turned around, grabbed her bathrobe that was hanging on a hook by the back of her door, and headed out of her room, walking down the hall as she entered the refresher.
Once she had removed her dirty Jedi tunic and put it in the laundry bin, she took a quick shower and after drying off, put on her bathrobe, brushed her teeth and headed back to her room. Shedding the robe upon her arrival and changing into her nightgown, she placed it back on the hook. Walking over to her bed, she sat down, meditated and went to bed.

The next morning, Rosella woke up and stumbled out of her room. She headed down the hall and into the kitchen to find her father making blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
Taking a seat at the island, she yawned and said, "Morning Dad."
Glancing over at his daughter, Anakin smiled. "Morning Ella," he responded as he turned back to the stove and flipped the completed pancake onto the small stack of ones that he had already finished making. "Did you sleep alright last night?"
She nodded, mumbling something that Anakin couldn't understand as she eyed the small stack of pancakes.
Anakin chuckled and turned off the stove before picking up the plate. Walking over to the island, he placed it down and turned to his left, reaching into the cupboard that was in front of him for two plates. Closing the door with his other hand, he placed the plates on the surface and walked over to the same drawer where Rosella had taken her cutlery from last night. Opening it, he reached in and grabbed two forks. As he walked over to the island, he closed the drawer with a wave of his hand.
Rosella slightly giggled as she took notice of what he did.
"Don't tell Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon," he said, handing her a fork.
"I won't," she replied, grabbing a pancake and putting it on her plate.
The Knight did the same and then the pair dug into their breakfast. After they were finished, Rosella got up, carried her empty plate with her fork on top into the kitchen and placed it in the sink.
Washing the remaining crumbs off, she turned off the tap and walked out of the kitchen as she headed back down the hall to her room, emerging a few minutes later in a clean tunic, with her lightsaber attached to her belt.
As the teenager walked into the main area, she was twisting her left wrist brace, making sure it sat in its proper position on her arm. As soon as it was in place, her wrist comlink beeped, signalling an incoming transmission.
Rosella answered it. "This is Padawan Ngaire," she said.
"Commander, mind coming down to the barracks?" Rex asked, his voice coming out of her comlink.
"Sure Rex," she responded, a small sliver of curiosity running through her as she looked down at the tiny communication device.
"Great. I'll see you in a bit," he said as he ended the call.
"I wonder what he wants," she said, glancing up at her father who had a look of pure confusion on his face.
"I'm not sure, but get moving before you end up being late," Anakin told her. "Rex does not like to be kept waiting."
Rosella nodded and headed out the door.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Stepping through the doorway of the barracks that belonged to the 501st, Rosella made her way down the hall, moving past the entryway that led to the common room. She entered the training room, having only gotten lost once, and glanced around.
She quickly noticed the large rubber mats on the floor in the middle of the room and a boxing ring that had been placed in the right corner with two mirrors surrounding it on the back and right sides. On the left side of the room, she saw a small workout area with three racks that contained different-sized weights, and a bunch of other workout equipment.
Glancing to her right again, she saw two rooms that had been placed right next to each other. Each one had a long medium-sized window running across it and inside was a shooting range. The room near the boxing ring was the one with the entry door.
Heading over to the room, she opened the door and saw Rex sitting at a table beside the range. Each cubicle had a small table sitting in front of it and two see-through glass panels on each side. As she walked into the room, she looked to her right and saw a door that led to the other range.
Closing the door behind her, she headed over to the table and immediately noticed that he had removed his dual DC-17 hand pistols from their holsters and laid them on the surface. The one on the left was completely disassembled as he was busy cleaning it. "Captain," she said as she plopped down in the chair across from him.
The Captain didn't answer but nodded in her direction as he focused on his current task.
The teenager placed her chin into her hands since her elbows were already on the table as she watched what he was doing. A few minutes passed as he finished cleaning one blaster and reassembled it. Then he oiled it before setting it aside and disassembling the other one.
Rosella seemed to sense that now was a good time to find out why he had called her down here. Sitting up, she placed her hands on the table and asked, "Why did you ask to see me?"
"Do you remember when I told you that I wanted to start teaching you how to use a blaster just in case you ever had to use one out in the field?" He asked as he checked the charging ports to see if they were damaged.
"Yes," she replied, thinking back to her birthday party that had been held in the common room.
"Well," he said as he tilted the chamber towards the light to get a better look, "I figured that now would be a good time to get started on your lessons."
Rosella watched as he ran a brush over the contacts with a steady hand and precise moves. She was pretty sure that this was something that he could do in his sleep. "I won't be using your weapons, will I?" She asked, glancing over at his other blaster.
He glanced at her. "No," he responded before shifting his eyes back to his task at hand and sliding the brush across the middle and down the sides of the chamber. Once he had finished doing it a few more times, making sure that it was clean, he slid the pieces of his blaster back together, oiled it and set it aside before getting out of his seat and grabbing a training blaster from a nearby rack.
Returning to the table, he placed the weapon on top. "You will be using this," Rex told her before quickly disassembling the weapon and laying out all the pieces in front of her. "We'll start off by learning about each part and what it does."
For the next half-hour, Rosella learned the names of each piece and how it was used.
Once Rex had reassembled the weapon, he placed it on the table, before standing up and reaching for his own as he placed them back into their holsters. Then he grabbed the training blaster.
Rosella copied his action and he led her over to one of the small tables. As she watched, he flipped the weapon around and depressed the catch for the power pack, popping it out and holding it in his other hand as he closed the chamber. Then, after spinning the slightly off-balance blaster on his palm, he gripped the barrel and offered it to her.
"I want you to take the blaster from me," Rex told her, knowing that this was her first time holding a blaster.
Rosella tilted her head and slowly reached for the weapon, her eyes never leaving his face as he gently nudged the stock into her palm. As her fingers gingerly closed around it, he checked to make sure that she was holding it correctly.
When he was satisfied with her hand placement, he nodded sharply and let go of the barrel, watching as Rosella's fingers instantly tightened around the stock as her arm dropped towards the ground.
Even though she was caught off guard by the weight of the weapon, she quickly caught herself and lifted the blaster back into the air.
"This is a lot heavier than I expected it to be," Rosella said.
"It'll be even heavier with the power pack inside," Rex commented as he held it up in the air. "When you take a blaster from anywhere, always remember to grab it by the stock. Never grab it by the barrel unless you want to get shot, if you're in the middle of a combat zone or offering it to someone else. Do you understand, vod'ika?"
"I understand ori'vod," Rosella replied as she shot him a quick smirk.
Rex chuckled at the use of the name and said, "The reason that I didn't include the power pack is because we're only going to be working on your form today. I'll save the firing lesson for another time. Now watch as I demonstrate how to stand properly."
She nodded and paid attention as he stepped up next to her, pulled out one of his blasters from its holster and took up a shooting position.
"You'll want to have your feet shoulder-width apart and parallel to each other," Rex said as he moved his feet to their proper stance. "It will help keep you locked in place when you fire the weapon."
Moving back to his normal stance, he holstered his weapon as he turned to face her and said, "Now you try."
The teenager moved her feet to the correct spots. "This feels really awkward," she complained since it was only her first lesson. "How are you and the rest of the vod able to shoot like this out in the field?"
"We've had training, sir," Rex told her. "With enough practice, pretty soon you'll automatically be doing it on instinct when you take up a blaster."
After going through the motions a few more times, Rex had her stop for the day, telling the teenager that they would be doing it again the next time that she was free.
Rosella nodded and flipped the weapon around, handing it back to Rex the same way that he had handed it to her earlier.
He smiled, took it from her and then dismissed her with the wave of his right hand.
The teenager walked out of the room, left the barracks and headed back to the Temple.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
After lunch, Rosella was in one of the smaller training rooms with a blast helmet over her head as she was practicing the form four techniques that Anakin had taught her against one of the training remotes.
The reason that Anakin wasn't here with her was because he was attending a quick meeting regarding his upcoming escort mission since he, a portion of the 501st and the 212th were going to be aiding Obi-Wan who was going to be escorting Duchess Satine from Mandalore to Coruscant.
The teen had just deflected another laser when she heard the door slide open. Sensing the presence of another Jedi behind her, she deactivated her lightsaber with one hand and lifted the visor with the other. The remote flew up into the air as she turned around.
Upon seeing Master Luminara, who had just walked into the room, Rosella bowed and then stood up. "Master Unduli," she said.
Luminara bowed in return. "Padawan Ngaire," she responded. "Don't mind me, I'll just be on the other side of the room, working on my lightsaber skills."
Rosella nodded, turned around and pulled the visor over her head as she reignited her lightsaber and continued with the exercises that Anakin had asked her to do.
Luminara quickly moved to the other side of the room and did her warm up stretches before removing her lightsaber from its clip and igniting it. Then she went through the opening motions for Soresu before working on some of the more advanced moves that Obi-Wan was fond of using in battle.
After finishing her exercises, Rosella deactivated her lightsaber, hung it on her belt and reached up, removing the blast helmet from over her head. Walking over to the shelf that was in the room, she placed the helmet back where she had gotten it from and turned around, calling the training remote to her with the Force. Once it was in her hand, she turned it off and placed it on the shelf that was below the one with the helmets.
Luminara paused what she was doing and watched as the teenager headed for the door to the room. "Would you like to spar with me?" She asked.
Rosella halted in her tracks, a momentary expression of surprise that was mixed with a little curiosity appearing on her face as she turned around to face the Jedi Master. Then her expression returned to normal. "I would be honored to spar with you," she responded as she walked back towards the middle of the room.
After bowing to each other, Rosella unhooked her lightsaber from her belt.
Once they had both adjusted their settings, making sure that they were set to their lowest levels, Luminara watched as Rosella ignited her saber and soon the two were circling one another.
Seeing that the Jedi Master wasn't going to make the first move, Rosella charged forward, raising her saber in the air as she feinted left before spinning around and striking right as she hoped to catch the older Jedi off guard. A quick look of surprise flashed across her face as the older Jedi countered her move, causing their blades to clash with each other.
Luminara pushed Rosella's blade off of hers with more force than she had intended to use, causing the younger girl to stumble backwards as she tripped over her feet and landed on the ground.
Quickly flipping over and landing on her feet, Rosella twirled her saber once and then thrust it out to the side, holding the glowing blue blade in a horizontal position with the tip pointing towards the floor as she blocked a swing that was intended for the left side of her body. Then she used her blade to spin the other blade around in a circle before forcing it to her right.
Luminara quickly lifted her blade into the air, using the momentum to push Rosella's off of hers as she spun out of the way and dropped into a mid-guard stance, waiting to see what the young girl would do next.
The teenager took a few steps back and caught her breath. Then, after taking a deep breath, she ran forward, using the momentum to push herself off the ground and flip over the Mirialan's head. Twisting in the air, she landed behind the older woman and lashed out as she aimed for Luminara's right side.
The Jedi Master quickly spun around and blocked her blade again. "You must find an opening in my defences, Padawan," Luminara told her. "If you can't find one, make one."
The teenager merely smiled before tightening her grip on her lightsaber as she lunged at the Mirialan, feinting an overhand strike before spinning around and driving the point of her saber straight at the elder Jedi's midsection. Less than a fraction of a second later, she slammed into the ground, her lightsaber flying from her grip, automatically shutting off as it landed a few feet away.
"Ugh," Rosella groaned, rolling onto her back to stare up at the ceiling.
Luminara's face appeared above her a moment later and offered a sympathetic smile. "Are you alright, Padawan?"
"I'm fine Master Unduli," Rosella responded as she sat up.
Luminara chuckled and extended her hand, pulling the girl to her feet. "That was a very good effort that you put up during our spar, Rosella," she said as she placed a hand on her shoulder. "Your master should be very proud of you."
"Thank you, Master," Rosella responded, inclining her head at the praise. Then she summoned her lightsaber back to her and placed it on her belt.
Then the door slid open and Anakin walked in. "Rosella, have you finished your…" he trailed off as he saw Luminara. "Master Unduli, I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Well, I did come to work on improving my lightsaber skills since Barriss is busy with her volunteer shift in the healer's wing," she said. Thinking about her recent sparring session, a small smile tugged at her lips as she glanced at the teenager. "Master Skywalker, have you considered letting Rosella work with two sabers?"
Anakin crossed his arms over his chest. "Jar'Kai?" He asked. "You think she's got the precision for it?"
Rosella glanced at her father before shifting her eyes back over to Luminara. Although she couldn't read the perpetually serene expression that was on her face, she hoped that whatever she said would help convince Anakin to let her try it.
Luminara observed her quietly for a moment and then looked back at the Knight. "Yes. I believe her grip is beginning to become more suited for dual wielding," she responded. "It would certainly help as I noticed that during our spar, she was leaving herself open on her left side."
"Hmm," Anakin said as he dropped his arms and walked over to his daughter, thinking about how their training sessions would have to change if she did take up the form. "In that case, I guess you'll be needing a second saber."
Rosella smiled as she thought of the ice planet, which was home to millions and millions of kyber crystals. "Does that mean we're heading to Ilum?" She asked, glancing up at him.
Anakin smiled back. "Try using a practice saber first," he replied. "When I see that you can handle it, then we'll see about taking a trip to Ilum, alright?"
Rosella nodded. "Yes, Master," she said. Then she turned to Luminara and bowed. "Thank you for allowing me to spar with you, Master Unduli."
Luminara smiled and bowed back. "You are very welcome Padawan Ngaire," she said. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I still have some exercises to go through."
"Of course," Anakin said as he wrapped one arm around Rosella's shoulder and guided her out of the room.
As the pair were heading back to their apartment, the Knight took that opportunity to tell Rosella that she wouldn't be accompanying him and the men to Mandalore as she had some classes to attend.
Rosella muttered something about having to do homework for her Rules of InterGalactic Diplomacy class and Anakin laughed, knowing that Obi-Wan had somehow signed her up for it just like he had done to him when he had been a padawan.
