I discovered something new today. It turns out that it's possible to kill guards who try to beat your ass for stealing things. Usually I just run away, because if they catch me I get my ass beat and they take a lot more of my money than whatever the piece of junk I stole was worth, as a "fine" or so they call it. (They're really just stealing my money and keeping it themselves, not that I'm one to talk, considering...)
Anyway, I was stealing shit down by the docks at Kaer Trolde and I hopped into the water to get away from the guard who was chasing me. There was only one guard coming after me even though more were around. I wondered if I could kill the guard even though he was 15 levels higher than me. So... I climbed out of the water on the pier and threw bombs at him until he got too close. I jumped back in the water before he could reach me, then climbed back out at the next pier and bombed him some more, and... he died. Civilians were screaming while the fight was going on, but after that everyone just went back to what they were doing. I got away with it. I stole a rope and killed a man. And no one cared.
Then I went back and stole more shit and other guards chased me.
