Two months had passed and Esther was feeling rather antsy, she wanted to begin the rest of her plan. She was glad that she'd managed to finally get Dudley used to eating a regular amount of food for a child his age. Dudley had slimmed down quite a bit and was much healthier than he'd been before she'd arrived. She'd also quickly noticed an old cat lady named Mrs. Figg across the street always watching the Dursley family, especially little Harry. From what she'd been able to gather, the old woman had been sent to keep an eye on the 'savior' of the wizarding world. Over the past week, she'd managed to butter up the old woman and had convinced her that Petunia had told her all she could about the magical world. After a while, she'd convinced the elderly widow that Petunia had been wondering if she would be able to show Esther and Dudley Diagon Alley despite the two of them not having any magic like Harry. Mrs. Figgs then told her something that had shocked her, Petunia was classified as a Squib. Mrs. Figg said the term for people born with little to no magic, but had a magical bloodline such as themselves were known as a Squib. Apparently Petunia had magic flowing through her veins much like her younger sister Lily. However, unlike Lily, she only had the smallest amount of magic and wasn't invited to attend Hogwarts like her sister. She had just enough for her to see the magical world yet not enough for her to perform any true magic except the ability to make potions. However, it was just enough that Dudley should have the sight to see the entrance alongside Harry. Esther asked how she could find out if she was a squib or not and Mrs Figg told her that she could take her to the wizarding world's bank to have her tested if she wanted to. Esther eagerly agreed and gave her enough money to convert to the wizarding world's currency so she could pay for the test to be done. She'd been slowly stealing money from the Dursley's so, when she finally did kill them, she would have enough to take care of the children for a while before needing to steal more. Mrs. Figg had shown her how to use the Floo and took her to Diagon Alley. She'd been taken to Gringotts, the wizarding world's bank, and was quickly tested. Of course, she'd been tested in private as she'd been told it would reveal much of her history by the goblin as it was a bloodline test and she hadn't wanted the old woman to find out the truth. It turned out she actually was a squib and hadn't that been quite the shock to her system. She'd quickly paid the goblins for their silence on her true age before letting them know that she would return with two children she wanted to adopt. When asked if she would be blood adopting the children, she'd asked what that meant and had been ecstatic at the news that she could become their mother by blood.
She'd told the goblins that she'd return next Saturday morning at 9 with her children and had paid in advance for the ritual before leaving with Mrs. Figgs. She lied to the woman, saying she wasn't a squib and how it wouldn't change the love she felt towards her family. She knew the woman was reporting to someone from the wizarding world and she didn't want them to know the truth. Soon enough, Friday had come and it was finally time. She was ready for the next step of her plan. She'd managed to siphon out enough funds to support the three of them for at least a few months from their bank account without them noticing. She put on her gloves so she wouldn't leave behind any fingerprints before quickly knocking out Petunia after she'd gotten dinner ready, knowing Vernon was coming home from work soon. Esther calmly tied her up before hiding her unconscious body in Vernon and Petunia's bedroom. As soon as Vernon came home, she'd handed him a glass of bourbon laced with a double dose of a fast-acting and undetectable poison that she'd managed to purchase from the dark web for this exact moment. She told him that Petunia had been feeling under the weather, but had prepared Vernon's dinner for him before she went to lay down. Esther quickly went upstairs and killed Petunia by breaking her neck before brutally beating her dead body with a bat as silently as possible, making sure she remained blood-free. She quickly went back downstairs to check on Vernon and quickly found him clutching his chest, only having eaten half of his dinner. She smiled as soon as he died, knowing it would appear as though he'd died of a heart attack. She the proceeded to plant Vernon's fingerprints on the bat before tossing it near Petunia's body. She put the boys to sleep for the night before going to bed, setting an alarm for 7 am so she'd have enough time to finish things at Privet drive before leaving for the last time.
The next morning, she was awoken by her alarm and got ready for the day. After she was ready, she grabbed some snacks for her boys before taking out a double-seated stroller Petunia had gotten and put the snacks underneath the twin seats. She then woke up the children and got them dressed for the day. Once they were ready, she strapped the two boys into their seats. Esther hummed as she put makeup concealer on Harry's scar before hiding a knife on her person. She then made her way towards Mrs. Figgs' house so they could use her Floo. When the old woman had least expected it, Esther slit the woman's throat and watched the life drain out of her eyes. She put on another pair of gloves and began lighting scented candles around the house. Before placing each candle in place, she made sure that they had Mrs. Figg's fingerprints on them, just in case any of them survived the fire that she was about to start, before lightly knocking them over. She quickly set the old woman's body on fire and smiled as the flames slowly began to spread. She was glad that Mrs. Figg hadn't thought to install fire alarms within her home as it made it much easier for the flames to destroy the woman's body before the fire was noticed. She quickly threw in the Floo powder and watched as the flames turned green.
"Diagon Alley." She said as she entered the fire with the stroller.
As she stepped back into the wizarding world, she calmly took off her gloves and put them in the compartment under the stroller. She then went straight to Gringotts for her blood adoption appointment.
Everything is going as planned, Esther thought to herself.
