Esther had decided to ask what the blood test had meant by a sealed witch before they began doing all the necessary paperwork, their new background, and figuring out who would be their magical guardian. She'd been shocked and a bit terrified when the goblin told her exactly what a 'sealed' wizard or witch was: a magical child who'd had their ability to connect to their magical core severed permanently. However, the goblin had assured her that such a thing could only be performed by a parent of shared blood when the child was no more than a few weeks old so it could never happen to them. The two of them spent quite awhile on completing all the necessary paperwork for both the muggle and magical world before moving onto creating their new backgrounds. Esther had been shocked that the people she'd thought had been made up on the twins blood test, Charlotte and her son Rigel, were actually real and had been killed around the time she would have still been 'pregnant'. Esther wanted to know why Charlotte's connection had been severed, but the goblin had told her that she didn't need to know yet and that she'd most likely find out sometime in the future. The goblin had also given Esther an enchanted necklace which would prevent her from her mind being read and could not be removed by anyone except herself. The goblin cautioned her to learn to shield her mind as the necklace's enchantments wouldn't last for more than a decade at most, around the time when the twins would receive their Hogwarts letter.
The original Esther Albright had went 'missing' at age 4, although she'd told the goblin that the girls older brother had killed her while the children's mother covered it up, and an impostor took her place 5 years later. She'd decided to keep her going missing in their background and added that she had been raised by her kidnapper, a pureblood witch by the name of Elina Rebane, in Estonia. Elina had been unable to have children of her own and had seen a squib couple with a witch daughter and had decided to 'rescue' the poor girl from them, deluding herself into believing Esther had been her daughter that the squibs had stolen from her. Esther had managed to convince the woman to not kill her parents and older brother, telling Elina that she'd stay with her as long as she didn't hurt them. The two eventually moved to Britain when Esther had been 8 where she'd met a boy her age named Rigel who ended up getting her pregnant with twin boys when the two were only 9 years old. Unfortunately, Elina had been enraged the moment she'd learnt about the pregnancy and had killed the boy for sullying her darling Esther as well as the poor boy's mother in a fit of rage. The woman had then continued to take care of Esther as if she hadn't murdered the small family in front of the poor girl and had even helped with the birth of the twins, dotting on her 'grandsons'. Fortunately for Esther, the woman had been killed while they were hiding in the muggle world and Esther had made her way to Gringotts with her sons, asking for a goblin to help her find her family. Esther had been saddened to learn of her family's demise and had asked about the father of her children, ecstatic that their may be someone to care for them after all. After the goblin made sure everything would check out if anyone decided to check in the muggle world, they'd moved onto who would be their magical guardian.
"Now, regarding your magical guardian, you have quite a few options. Sirius Orion Black lll, the eldest half-brother of the twins new father, who was thrown into Azkaban without a trial. Even if you don't choose him as your magical guardian, it would be best to free him at some point. He'd originally been disowned, but was brought back into the family due to being the last male heir from the male bloodline. Although, your sons are also male heirs of the male line so his position as heir will depend entirely on how your new family reacts towards the three of you. Another option would be Lucretia Prewett née Black, sister of the twins' new grandfather, and her husband Ignatius or the twins' new great-grandfather Arcturus Black lll. Cassiopeia or Pollux Black, cousins of Arcturus lll, are also an option to become your magical guardian. The twins' new father's second cousins, Walburga or Cygnus lll, could become your magical guardian. I do caution that Walburga is a bit of a wildcard as she was the wife of the twins' grandfather Orion Black. There are five other's that could also potentially be your magical guardian that are members of the Black family bloodline, but don't hold the Black surname: Bellatrix Lestrange née Black, Narcissa Malfoy née Black, Frank Longbottom, Bartemius Crouch Senior, and Bartemius Crouch Junior. Bellatrix Lestrange née Black, eldest daughter of Cygnus lll, and her husband Rodolphus are currently childless. Narcissa Malfoy née Black, Bellatrix's youngest sister, and her husband Lucius have a son around the twins' age. Frank Longbottom is the grandson of Callidora Longbottom née Black who is the cousin of Pollux and Arcturus lll. He and his wife also have a son around the twins' age. Bartemius Crouch Senior, grandson of Charis Crouch née Black who was a cousin of Pollux and Arcturus lll, and his sickly wife have only one son. I would not recommend choosing him as he's known to neglect his family due to his devotion to the Ministry of Magic and his goal of becoming the next Minister. Their son, Bartemius Crouch Junior, is a much better option and is currently unmarried. There are a few others, but they aren't as suitable due to being disowned from the Black family line."
Esther thought for a few moments with a small frown, trying to decide who to choose as their guardian. Thankfully, they would only need a magical guardian until she turned 17 which was the age of adulthood in the wizarding world. It wouldn't be good for them to get on the bad side of the Black family so she decided against contacting Walburga or her brother Cygnus lll as they were the two most likely of having a volatile reaction. She put Narcissa, Bellatrix, Bartemius Junior, Frank and Sirius on her maybe list. She reminded herself to ask the goblin to get Sirius a trial soon.
"Let Lucretia and Arcturus know about our existence, they have the closest blood ties besides Sirius. Also, make sure Sirius gets a trial. He'll be a good backup plan."
"Consider it done." The goblin told her before leading them back to his office.
Esther took care of her sons while the goblin wrote and sent out the letters to both Lucretia Prewett and Arcturus Black lll about newly found heirs born from the male bloodline. It wouldn't be long before they arrived once they'd learnt of the children's existence. He then got to work on letting the right people know that Sirius Black never received a trial so he'd get one. There was a chance others would use this to try and get others out of Azkaban, but that wasn't his problem.
The goblin cleared his throat, catching Esther's attention, "I have contacted your relatives and they will most likely be on their way soon."
Esther nodded, but was interrupted before she could say anything else by the floo in the goblin's office activating. One after another, four members of their new family came through the floo and stood before them. Two of them were obviously Blacks by blood with their black hair, practically identical aristocratic features, and striking grey eyes. The other two must have married into the family as the older witch had blonde hair and light blue eyes while the younger wizard had red hair and hazel eyes.
"Gragnus." Arcturus greeted with a nod.
The goblin, Gragnus, nodded back, "Lord Black."
Arcturus hid a wince, he'd regained the title of Head of the Black family after his son's death. It was any pureblood family's worst nightmare, having the male bloodline die out and no one left to carry on the family names and traditions. He'd begun to believe this was the fate of the Black bloodline: his only son dead, Regulus dead, and Sirius in Azkaban. The bloodline couldn't even fall back on his brother as he only had daughters. When he'd received a letter telling him his son had prepared a hidden backup heir that had heirs of his own, each one verified purebloods, he'd immediately rushed over alongside his wife. His daughter and son-in-law had also received a letter from Gragnus and they had all rushed over. The four of them stared at Esther and the two babies still in their stroller in amazement, it was painfully obvious that the younger children were a part of the Black bloodline.
Lucretia slowly walked towards them and knelt besides them, "Hello."
Esther made sure to give the woman a shy smile, "Hi."
AN: In this Fic, Frank and Alice Longbottom haven't been tortured into insanity yet. Who do you guys think I should make their magical guardian now that you know the options? Should Arcturus or Lucretia be their magical guardian or should one of the two choose another family member to take them in instead?
