Harry James Potter was many things. He was The Boy Who Lived, captain of Gryffindor's Quidditch team, Gryffindor's golden boy. His list of titles and accolades rivaled that of Merlin and Dumbledore. But most of all he was one of the bravest men to walk through the halls of Hogwarts. He also loved Albus Dumbledore dearly. The wise old wizard was like a long-lost grandfather to Harry. But as he stared into the twinkling eyes of Albus Dumbledore only one thought entered his mind. The need for a fresh pair of underwear. Only one thing scared Harry Potter and it was before him. Yes, the one thing that scared Harry Potter was the twinkling eyes of Dumbledore for they promised one thing to Harry. Albus Dumbledore had a plan. Over the years Harry had learned many things one of which was the fact that Dumbledore's plans always came back to either harm or humiliate Harry. Harry needed to escape and quickly. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have the Mauraders' map. He had to listen to the plan of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Harry only could wish that he was prepared for the horror that awaited him.
Harry POV
"Hello Professor how are you," Harry said with a strained smile. "Please don't say I'm good my boy and have been meaning to talk to me," Harry thought
"I'm good my boy," Dumbledore said."Although I have been meaning to talk to you," He continued
"Really what can I do for you Professor," Harry responded. He hoped the old man had heard the fear in his voice.
"You see Harry given theā¦situation that your brother has encountered this year I was hoping if you could help relieve some of the burdens on him"
"Of course Professor," Harry responded. Harry may fear the plans of Albus Dumbledore but he wasn't The Boy Who Lived this time around. Maybe He could finally see why everyone revered the plans of Albus Dumbledore. His heart went out to his brother however, he knew how it felt to be on the receiving end of Dumbledore's plans he could only pray that his brother didn't suffer too much.
Harry had hoped wrong.
TIMESKIP
It was now summer. Harry usually hated the summers between Hogwarts terms. Sure He was able to enjoy the company of the Weasleys and Hermione but that only helped to alleviate the absolute train wrecks that were what he would later term "the precursor to madness' events that foreshadow the mess that awaited him at Hogwarts. With a family now Harry had hoped that such events wouldn't occur. Unfortunately for Harry Potter, he wasn't Hermione Granger so he wasn't right all the time. In front of him, there was a desk upon that desk was "the precursor to madness" event he hated so much, the Prefect badge lay on the desk taunting him. Either side of him Ron and Charlus gave him glares that could kill a Basilisk. In front of him, his parents had looks of shock and disappointment, but the most prominent one was pride. And behind them, Hermione had a curious look on her face that he couldn't quite place. Sirius and Remus looked straight out of a comic book with the bottom of their jaws glued to the floor. Neville and his grandmother gave him a look that screamed "I told you so." His little sister Ivy seemed shocked as well. The twins screamed out "NOOOOOO" in comical horror. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley gave him a look that promised an infinite supply of pastries. Ginny stared at him like they were back in their second year, but the worst came from Percy and the look of approval that he gave him. Yes, Harry concluded definitively that he hated summers.
Charlus POV
He couldn't believe it. His brother was made prefect of Gryffindor. After all, he had gone through last year the least Dumbledore could've done was give him the prefect badge. Sure he spent more time in detention than in class but he'd also saved the school more times than he could count. And what's up with those looks from Lardbottom and his Grandmum. Worst of all was the look from Hermione she looked at Harry like he was a new book. Hermione never looked at him like he was a new book. He was going to get to the bottom of this.
Ron POV
Ron was jealous. Very jealous. Yes, Ron Bilius Weasley was feeling many emotions right now. But the two most prominent were hunger, he hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was dinner time, and jealousy. He could deal with Charlus being made prefect he'd earned but Harry Potter. He saw the looks Harry was getting from everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Potter looked at him with pride, his parents seemed more pleased with Harry than him, the twins acted as if they had just had lost a brother in arms, but the worst came from the look that Hermione was giving him a look she only gave to new books. Hermione loved new books more than he loved food. Ron was very jealous.
Harry POV
"So how's the weather?" He asked. It was all he could think of. He may have faced more deadly situations but they paled in comparison to what was happening now. He needed to de-escalate the situation before his brother and Ron took his head off and everyone dropped dead from shock. Luckily for him, his question worked.
"Well the weather has been quite shocking hasn't," Remus said
"Yeah with all of the rain and whatnot," Sirius continued
"What are you two talking about. There hasn't been a single rain cloud for weeks." Hermione inquired
With that, the room promptly dissolved into a bickering mess. With Sirius and Remus on one side and everyone else on the other. Harry had never loved the two dogs more.
