I was sitting at one of the picnic tables setup in the Rennie's parking lot working on my data entry job when Alice came to sit beside me.
"Hey, Edward, how's the apartment?"
"Haven't spent much time there, if I'm being honest, Alice. But I like the idea of having my own place for when I'm not traveling."
"Esme seems to love it up there. Makes me wonder."
"Should I be afraid?" I asked.
"Hopeful. In other news, my editors should have the draft back next week. By the time you're done with Jasper's audiobook, mine will be ready for you."
"Awesome. I'm looking forward to it."
Alice stood and started walking away, but stopped and turned back. "By the way, Emmett told me about the podcast idea. I think it would be great."
"You don't think it is too much?"
"Not at all. And if you create a channel for it, you could cross-promote. You have the mind for all that."
"Thanks. I come up with a lot of ideas but half the time I think they're idiotic."
"That's what I'm here for. To tell you're an idiot for thinking you're an idiot."
I glared at Alice and she laughed. "Jasper is grilling tonight, so come over by six for dinner."
And with that, the mischievous little fairy flounced.
