I know Chuchi isn't in this one. I wondered what a conversation between Fox and Satine would be like.
After the assassination attempt and frame up of the Mandalorian Duchess, Fox was called in to organize extra security for her. He sighs at his new orders, moving it to the top of his priority list. He goes to knock on her door. She answers in as dignified a manner as she could.
"Yes?" She asks icily.
He ignores her tone, "Ma'am, I have been ordered to improve your security."
she nods and moves aside. He walks in and takes note of every possible entry point. Six. He types it down on his data-pad. He looks up to see that she had returned to the table where her tea was getting cold. She sips, staring at him with distrust. He pulls out a chair and sits across from her.
"would you like to explain why you're upset?" He asks.
She turns to face the door. "you don't know?"
"I might, I just need to hear your side."
she sighs, "very well. Your men hunted me like an animal because I supposedly shot someone."
"here is the report. A man is shot. Three police droids come over. One notices that you are holding a weapon. You are then identified as the main suspect. You know this, so you flee the scene of the crime. Two of my men join in the chase. You shoot one of the droids and cause all of them trip. You then continue running. You contact General Kenobi and involve him in your conspiracy. You are attacked before turning yourself in to the senate guards. Am I wrong?"
she shakes her head, "no."
"would you like to hear what I think happened?"
she turns towards him, "go ahead."
He stands up and asks, "may I have some caf first?"
she nods. He leaves and comes back, drinking the cup through his helmet. She asks in confused amusement, "how...?"
he sits. "you went to meet your contact to get some vital information. He was shot by a political enemy. The police droids see you holding a weapon. They can't tell the difference between a rail gun and a water pistol. They attempt to bring you in for questioning. Instead of explaining yourself, you run. Like a guilty person. Two of my men, mere kits, are on patrol when they are informed. They join the hunt and get tripped. They then spend hours looking for a murder suspect who is looking guiltier by the minute. You turn yourself in to the most most incompetent security force on Coruscant while Kenobi brings your evidence to the senate." He chugs down what's left in the cup. He puts it aside and looks her right in the eye, "did it ever occur to you, that if you had explained yourself instead of running, You would've been proven innocent in less than ten minutes, placed in protective custody, and had your evidence analyzed for authenticity?"
she opens her mouth to argue but decides against it. "you make some good points." even with the helmet on she could tell his eye twitched. "But, how do you know that it would've gotten to the senate?"
"no matter which police caught you, you would've ended up in my custody. As I'm Palpatine's favorite," a fact he was not proud of, given the way he said it. " he would've shown it to the senate as soon as I had the authenticity verified."
"ah."
"even if you had, I'm still upgrading your security." He pulls out his data-pad and slides it over to her.
She reads it over, then looks up in surprise, "isn't twenty men over doing it?"
"no."
she tries to study his face through the helmet and came to the conclusion that he was being serious. She slides it back, "since you believe that you understand my situation better than I do, I don't see why you can't."
He throws her sarcasm back at her, "thank you, that's very generous of you." He gets up and walks to the door. Just before pushing the button, he says, "Go ahead and marry General Kenobi. Nobody will care." He leaves her in shock and is gone before she can respond.
I'm thinking of making a part 2. what do you think?
