I was sound asleep, when the ringing of my phone startled me awake. With my do not disturb setting on, only three numbers would be able to get through.

I reached for the phone and swiped without looking at the caller.

"Hello?" I rasped out.

"Bella, it's Deputy Mark out in Forks. I'm calling about your dad."
