The next morning, Sokka ran up to us, again. This time, he seemed more excited than last time. "Guys! Look at what I found!" he exclaimed, holding a scroll.

"Okay, you found a scroll in my father's house. What's so special about it?" I asked.

"Well..." Sokka unrolled the scroll, "it has an old tale on it."

"What tale?" Aang asked, already intrigued.

"Uh, it says 'The Tale of The Blue Spirit and The Painted Lady.'"

"The Blue Spirit and The Painted Lady?" Aang asked. "They have a tale for them?"

"It seems so," Sokka said.

"I want to hear it," Toph said.

"Yeah, Sokka," Suki agreed. "Read it!"

Sokka looked down at the paper. "Let's see... Ah, here we go! 'The Blue Spirit and The Painted Lady are well known spirits-'"

"Wait, when was this written?" Aang interrupted.

"Uh," Sokka flipped the scroll over.

"Try checking the bottom, Sokka," Suki said. Sokka glanced at the bottom. "A really long time ago," he said, looking up.

"Okay, go on," Aang said.

"Where was I?" Sokka scanned the scroll. "'...who live in the Spirit World. The Avatar is the bridge to both of those worlds, his and the Spirit World. Long ago, the spirits lived in peace with the benders. However, the spirits didn't live in peace amongst themselves.' Ah, that's hard writing."

"Let me read," Suki said. Sokka handed her the paper. She stared at it for a second before she started. "'The Blue Spirit and The Painted Lady are legends,' blah blah blah. Where is the good stuff?" She scanned the paper a little again and picked up.

"'Long ago, there was a war torn throughout the Spirit World. Some Spirit have chosen sides, other chose not to involve themselves any further. The Blue Spirit was one of them who wished not to join the war. The Painted Lady had been healing the Spirit wounded at war, helping as many as would come to her.

"'However, one day, that all changed when The Blue Spirit's enemy, The Red Comet, came to join the war. He was ruthless, he tore up cities and burnt them down. He traveled between the two worlds until Cho put an end to his abilities. He could no longer travel between the two worlds, but that didn't stop him. He wanted to win the war. He wanted to show the Spirits who was the strongest, that he would win.

"'The Red Comet one day became involved with The Blue Spirit. He attacked him, causing the Blue Spirit to grow angry and retaliate. The Blue Spirit lost the battle and the Red Comet left him there to die. However, The Painted Lady would not allow it. She healed the Blue Spirit. The Blue Spirit was thankful for her help. He fell in love with her.

"'The Painted Lady is assumed the most beautiful of all the Spirits. The Blue Spirit had seen her beauty and fell in love.'" The Blue Spirit fell in love with the Painted Lady? The Painted Lady is Katara. I glanced at her and moved away a little.

"'The Blue Spirit brought her wounded spirits, just to be near his true love. The Red Comet, however, didn't like the time The Blue Spirit was spending with her. He had fallen in love with her too. He grew jealous of The Blue Spirit and sought to kill him. He sought to tear the romance between him and her. He wouldn't stop until he had gained what he wished.

"'The Red Comet broke out another attack on The Blue Spirit. However, before he had done that, he sent down a storm of fire, raining from the heavens to the Spirit World. The Painted Lady gracefully stopped the fire. The Red Comet grew angry at The Painted Lady. He didn't want her to stop his fire. He wanted them to hit his enemy. Then he would have her all to himself.

"'He swore in his hardened heart that he would end The Blue Spirit's life, no matter what it took. So he charged for The Painted Lady. The Blue Spirit protected her, and attacked The Red Comet. So they fought. They fought a hard, long war. In the end, The Red Comet was defeated and The Blue Spirit had won. He felt great sadness in his heart for his enemy. The Painted Lady healed his wounds.

"'In the end, The Blue Spirit and the Painted Lady admitted their love for each other. To this day, they are known as the strongest living weds in the Spirit World. To this day, no one has been able to strike them down. Together, they ended the war and once again, the spirits live in peace. After the end of the war, they wed each other.'"

"Aww!" Toph said. "That's so sweet!"

"Yeah, it is!" Katara said. She looked at me. "Right, Zuko?" Her eyes twinkled as she asked. "Yeah...sure," I said nervously. She doesn't know that I'm The Blue Spirit.

During lunch, Katara met me in my room. "Zuko, are you okay? She seemed nervous when Suki was reading that."

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said, waving my hand in dismissal.

"No, you're not, Zuko," Katara replied. "What's wrong?" Should I tell her? Only Aang knows that I'm The Blue Spirit and I felt him giving me a dirty look the whole time. "Katara, its just that...I'm...you know..."

"Just spit it out, Zuko," Katara said, putting her hand on her hip. I sighed. There's no way she's going to leave me alone until I tell her. "I'm...The Blue Spirit..." I muttered. "And you're...The Painted Lady...and in that scroll...they ended up together..." Katara didn't say anything.

"That has nothing to do with us!" she finally said.

"I know its just..."

"A little weird? Yeah, I get it."

"And Aang was giving me dirty looks the whole time..."

"He was?" she asked. "I didn't notice." She paused. "Zuko, you were The Blue Spirit?" I nodded. "Well, you did a good deed then. Saving Aang. Before you joined us. I'm proud of you." She walked away. My cheeks grew warm. Did she compliment me? I haven't been complimented sincerely before. It...feels kind of...nice.
