"Hey, wait a minute," Sokka said, narrowing his eyes. "She helped you attack us!"
"Yeah, until you decided it was a good idea to dump perfume on the floor and make the shrishu go crazy and attacked Uncle and I," I remarked.
"Oh right, sorry," Sokka said, smiling.
"Hey," June said as I approached her. "It's Prince Pouty. We're your creepy grandpa?"
"He's my uncle and he's not here," I replied.
"Right," June said, sipping her drink. "I see you worked things out with your girlfriend."
Katara and I glanced at each other for a second. "She's not my girlfriend!" I cried in unison with Katara.
"Okay, okay. I was only teasing. What do you want?" June asked.
"I need your help finding the Avatar," I replied.
"Well, that doesn't sound too fun, especially since I did it before, Prince Pouty."
"Does the end of the world sound like more fun?" I asked, leaning closer to her with my fist on the table. June rolled her eyes. "Geez, more like Prince Grumpy now."
"Well?" I asked impatiently.
"Hmm, let me think about it." I hate these games of her. She knows what's best but she hates doing it. Not unless you give her a price. I found that out when she chased Katara's necklace. She wanted three gold pieces for it. I hope she doesn't pay that much the second time. I started glaring at her. She takes too long to come up with a decision. "Fine, fine," she said. "Come on, outside."
She led us to her shrishu. "Nyla," she called, tossing a chunk of meat. She walked over to it. "Who's my little Snuffly-Wuffly?" she asked, petting it's head. It sticks out it's tongue and we all dodged. "Woah, easy there!" She turned to us. "Okay, who's got something with the Avatar's scent on it?"
"I have Aang's staff," Katara replied inside of Aapa's saddle, holding up his staff. She hops off and hands the staff to June. The shrishu sniffs his glider. It walked in a circle before covering it's nose. "What does that mean?" I asked.
"It means your friend's gone," June replied.
"We know," Toph said. "That's why we're trying to find him."
"I mean he's gone gone," June said, shaking her head and petting Nyla. "Poof. Off the face of the world. He doesn't exist."
"What do you mean Aang doesn't exist?" Sokka asked. "He was here last night!" He paused. "Do you mean...he's dead?"
"No. We could find him if he was dead," June replied. "He'd still have a body. Well, it's a real head-scratcher. Well, see ya." She hopped on Nyla.
"Well, that was very helpful," Toph said. She can't leave now. Aang can't be gone. He's still here. I know it. But where could he be? What would Uncle do? That's it! "Wait, I have another idea," I said, standing in front of Nyla to prevent it from walking. "There's another person who can help us face the Firelord. I'll be right back with a smell sample."
I hopped onto Aapa's saddle. I packed a bag. I opened it and shuffled around inside. It's gotta be here somewhere. I reached inside and pulled out...a sandal? Why do I have Uncle's sandal? Well, I guess it works?
I hopped off the saddle and held up Uncle's sandal to Nyla. "Ugh! You kept your uncle's sweaty sandal?" Sokka asked, his voice muffled from him plugging his nose.
"I think it's kinda sweet!" Toph said. Nyla sniffed the sandal. Nyla ran off without us. "Hey! Wait up!" I called. I quickly get on Aapa as we follow Nyla and June. Nyla followed their nose to Ba Sing Se. Then it dug at the rubble at the wall. "We're going to Ba Sing Se?" I asked.
"Your uncle is beyond that wall. Nyla's getting twitchy so he can't be far." June hopped onto Nyla again. "Good luck." Her and Nyla ride away. "It's been a long day and it's getting dark," I said, looking up. "We should camp and continue our search tomorrow." We set up camp.
