(A/N: I'm beginning to run out of ideas for Mantis' Accustoming. Don't be afraid to give me suggestions)
Still picking up supplies for the monastery's rebuild, Jay decided to grab some old electronics from his parents' junkyard, as well as visit them since he hadn't seen them before he went to the First Realm, as well as bring Mantis along to meet them, but hopes they don't show him any childhood photos or tell him embarrassing stories.
Parking his car by their trailer, Mantis got out to see the whole place, especially the piles of scrap. "So, this is where you lived?" He asked.
"Yeah." Jay replied. "But, I hope mom doesn't make you stay that long."
"No, it'd be nice to meet her. And your father."
Pretty soon, the trailer door opened, and Edna ran towards Jay, arms wide open. "JAY!" She yelled at the top of her lungs before grabbing hold of him. "Oh, my little Ninja! You're alive!"
"Hi, mom." Jay replied, a little humiliated with Mantis around.
"Son!" Ed yelled as he came out to hug him as well.
Edna lets go of him to look at him before they move back. "Was it scary where you ended up?" Edna asked, pinching his cheek. "Did you think about us all the time? Did you eat fruits and vegetables? Did you have clean underwear?"
"Mom! Company!" He points to Mantis.
They turn toward Mantis before Edna came up to him. "Well, how do you do?" Ed asked.
"Pretty well, sir." Mantis replied.
"Well, I'm Ed, and this is Edna."
"Really nice to meet you, young man." Edna said.
"Uh, nice to meet you too, Mrs Gordon-Walker." Mantis replied.
"Oh, it's Mrs Walker, actually. So, what's your name, where are you from?"
"Uh, Mantis. I guess I came from the First Realm."
Ed was soon confused. "The First Realm?" He asked.
"Yes, Mantis use to live there." Jay replied. "But he helped us out, and came home with us."
"Aww." Edna said before turning back to Mantis and hugs him. "Thank you for taking care of my sweet little baby."
"Mom!" Jay muttered, embarrassed.
"Actually, he took care of me." Mantis said. "He even gave me my name."
"He did?" Edna asked.
"His old name was Trudogolik." Jay replied. "He hated it and I decided to call him Mantis."
"Oh, my Jay must be such a naming genius." She then looked up at Mantis. "Would you like some tea? I just finished an upside down cake."
"Uh, ma, we only came for some materials for the monastery."
"Come on, Jay, they're offering me something." Mantis said. "Besides, I never had cake before ever since Cole bragged about it, so I won't mind a slice."
"Okay then." Ed said as he came up next to him before he and Edna drag Mantis to the trailer.
"Oh, you should hear about the time Jay once had an accident when he was 8." Edna said as they enter the trailer.
"Gah, don't tell him that story, mom!" Jay yelled as he ran for the trailer and closed the door behind him.
Mantis was completely amused to have heard all the stories about Jay, how he wet himself from being scared by the mascots at Mega Monster Amusement Park when he was 6, how he wet himself watching a movie at the cinema because he had a really large soda when he was 8, how he wet himself at the mall just a few months later and tried to pass it off as the water fountain spraying him, how he hid in a bush of poison ivy while playing hide and seek, how he had his first potty time, how he once broke his arm sliding down a pile of scrap, and how he was caught kissing his pillow. Jay never felt humiliated as Mantis snickered on the way back to the monastery, but eventually stopped the next day.
