Nightmare:

Nick opens his eyes. How long had he been out? Looking around, he found himself on a rope bridge. He takes a step forward, the creaking of wood beneath his feet. He stumbles forward and catches himself on the cable railing. Looking to his left a wall of bright light. Reaching out and touching the light. Like placing ones hand on the calm surface of a lake, it ripples from his touch. To his right a black wall with figures moving on the other sided. Like trying to look through a dirty window.

Nick took a step forward and the wood creaks louder this time. Suddenly, the whole bridge shakes and wobbles. Nick held tight to the railing. Looking ahead, the bridge starts collapsing into the abyss. Turning and running, trying desperately to escape the collapsing bridge. Nick took one step in front, only to find the next board of the rope gone. With the next board gone along with Nick, falling deep into the deep darkness. He tried to scream but his voice had gone silent.

Darkness all Nick could see, and he landed hard on the pitch black ground. Everywhere around him, nothing but darkness. He became in a panic, dreading he would be stuck in this darkness forever.

Voices in the distance. Yes, civilization. Nick ran to the voices, hearing them become louder. A flash of light, blinding him temporarily. He throws up his hand to shield his eyes from the light.

Nick found himself among a large crowd. They were all focused on a podium with the Zootopia crest. It appeared as if there was going to be a press conference. This is Precinct One. He was back, back at the ZPD.

Looking around he gazed back up at the podium. Coming out of the shadows and stepping up to the podium was Judy. Smiling he wanted to call out to her, but his voice still had not returned. The crowd gathered around the podium, a press crowd, shouting out and calling to Judy to answer their questions. Looking around and thinking about it, this all seemed too familiar.

No it can't be, thought Nick. It's the exact press conference that took place after Judy and him found all those missing mammals. He was in the exact same spot as he was that day when he heard that speech. He did not want to be here, not where he would hear Judy say such horrible things. He wanted to move or run, but stood frozen in place. He listen to the horrid speech Judy makes. How predators are biologically capable of going savage. The pictures of predators being treated and caged like the savage animals they had become. No, no, no, no Nick thought. Judy, I know you, you don't believe that anymore, what are you doing?

"I know this is all very concerning," Judy said. "But there is some good news." the crowd went into an up roar. "Me and the assistant may-, I mean the new mayor as it is now, have come up with a solution."

Bellwether, what was she doing here? This isn't the way things went at the press conference. What was Judy doing up on the stage with Bellwether?

"Mayor Bellwether and I have come up with the perfect solution to handle predators going savage." Judy holds up a metallic collar. "With these new shock collars on every predator, we guarantee the safety for all citizens of Zootopia. We even have our first predator to try on this new technology." she turned toward Nick.

What? What was she getting at? He thought.

Nick felt a hard grasp on each side of his arm. Looking to each side, Bogo on his left in a ZPD uniform, and on his right Jack Savage in his usual suit and tie. They start to drag him up to Judy. He again tries calling for help but his mouth empty with words. Dragging Nick in front of Judy, Nick looks deep into her velvet eyes.

Please. Had to be some way of her remembering who she truly is. Unless. this is the true Judy.

Judy snapped and locked the shock collar around Nick's neck and dragged away. The slightest aggressive movement and nick would the hard shock of the collar. He couldn't see where he was being dragged. The loud sound of opening of some steel door and thrown in. Through the hard shocks of the collar, every wall in the room, padded white.

Nick fought against the shock collar and took a step. The moment his foot hit the ground it became swallowed up by the floor. Like quick-sand, he sunk deeper into the floor. He kept his snout pointed up, afraid that his air supply would be cut off. He was swallowed whole sending him back into darkness and cut off his air supply.

Nick struggled a bit, wanting to escape the darkness again, when he falls hard, landing on his butt on some bar stool. Looking around, it appeared to be some kind of dive bar. No, not just any dive bar, but the Waterhole. Finnick goes to this bar. Trish, the skunk, at the end of the bar catering to some patrons.

Nick hears the chuckles from a familiar koala. Looking to his right, Flynn sat on a bar stool. Something was off about him. He looked like he had gotten himself into a fight and lost. He looked bruised, beaten, and bloody. His teeth where blackened by blood.

"Never a dull moment with you, Nicky" the horrid Flynn said.

"Yeah Nick," a voice coming from his left. "Never a dull moment." Turning to who it was, gave him a fright. Sitting beside him was Jay. He looked like he had been pulled from his grave. The bullet hole from what he died of no longer spilling blood, but the eaters of the dead. Worms and other horrid creatures.

"You know I hope my death served you a good purpose, Nick," dead Jay said. "I was going to get out of that hell-hole. I was going to go home to a son and a wife. Instead, your little cat and mouse copper game got me killed."

Nick tried to speak up, when his nose starts to bleed and would not stop. Shelly, the female skunk behind the bar, yell out that she had just cleaned that area. Blood from his nose started to drip off the bar table. Nick pushed back with all his might and tipped backwards. When he hit the floor, he dropped into a new pool of darkness. He wondered where he will be sent to next.

"Nick... Nick..." a heavenly voice called out to him.

NIck opens his eyes which became flooded with gold light. He watched the sky flood with golden rays from the sun. He felt the breeze of the wind through the fur on his muzzle. He was laying on his back. Staring down at him was Judy.

Judy. She's here. But where was here? Nick sat up and looked around. They were in the park in Savanna Central. It was late afternoon and everything seemed at peace. Nick rubbed his neck, no shock collar. He wiped his nose, no blood. Seemed like he was perfectly healed.

"Well, It's about time you woke up." Nick turned to see his mother. "The kits want to play with you."

Kits?

"Daddy!" Two high pitched voices called out. Turning, Nick is tackled by two kits. A red male bunny with green eyes and a gray female fox with purple eyes. They called him daddy.

"The kits have been wanting to play all day." Looking up at the tall figure before him was Derek. He looked clean and healthy. "Michael, Philp, and Gracie would occupy their need for fun, but they are helping mom and dad setting up the picnic table."

Nick was in a wonderland. Standing up looking around, everything seemed perfect. He was back home with Judy and the rest of his family. He even had kits now.

"Daddy daddy." The two kits said excitedly.

"Of course. Of course we can." Nick said.

Nick spent his time playing games with the kits all though the afternoon. He took a break to sit by Judy.

"This is great, isn't it?"

Nick wrapped his arm around Judy. "It really is. I want it to just last forever."

Judy sighed, "But It can't Nick. Because this isn't real and you have to wake up."

Tears starrted to welled up in Nick's eyes. "No, I don't want to wake up. Not yet, not when everything feels so perfect."

"Sorry Nick, but you have to wake up."

The wind kicked up. The Judy in his arms turned to sand and parted away. He became trapped in the huge sand storm, everything went to darkness.

The darkness faded away. Nick found himself laying in a hospital bed. Heavily bandaged and his left arm in a cast. A female badger in a white lab coat came over.

"Well look who finally woke up," the badger said. "Don't worry, you'll be fixed up in no time."
