Welcome all to the 10th chapter of The Pokemon Entertainment League. In this chapter Roddy tells Zane his reasons for coming to the PEL. I hope you enjoy it.

March 9th Part 2 (Season 1 Episode 10)

Roddy and I head back into Roddy's apartment and we sit on the couch. We just saw Jaxon Hallman win a four way battle to earn a PokeLeague Championship match at the end of month event Torrents of Change. Now we were back in an apartment and Roddy was going to tell me just why he came here to the PEL.

"You obviously know of The Hunters." I nod. They are a PEL group of 8 members that are known for their loyalty to each other and for going after anyone that dares disrespects any of them. They are well-known for their power and just appearance where people know to respect them at all costs. "Well, what if I was to tell you that I know one of them." The way he said it and the way he said know means that he knows them personally.

"Who?"

"Their leader. Orson. He's my brother." He said solemnly. This floors me. His brother is in the PEL AND is the leader of The Hunters, the most powerful group in the PEL. I think back to all the times I've seen Orson and realize that indeed his last name is Fabre. I can't believe I never made the connection.

"I'm quite surprised by this info." I say and adding a tinge of carefulness to my voice. "But why do you need to tell me and like this?" I say gesturing to his room more so saying about the place of the meeting.

"Because that's why I am telling you. The reason I came here is because of my brother. Orson Fabre came to the PEL five years ago. One year after that he became a member of The Hunters. A year after that he became their leader and has been doing well for himself ever since. He's only been a success to them and to see how well they've been doing has only driven me to show off my skills as well." I understand what he's saying. It seems like him and his brother have a bit of a rivalry going on.

"So, you need to show the world that you are just as good as your brother. if not better than him. I can see that but what do I have to do with it all?"

"I want to do exactly what my brother is doing. I want to create a team and be the best in the PEL. I want to show the world that I have ust as much skill as he does and I am just as talented. I want us to team up and eventually gather more members that we see fit and become a dominating and well-known force."

It is a compelling thought. Having a goal and a powerful one at that. If it worked out we would be well-known and have a lot of advantages at that. There was just one problem.

"Roddy, we haven't even been in the PEL for a week. We have only had our introductory battle, nothing more. We can't just come out to the presses and say we are creating a team to compete with The Hunters. Everyone would just laugh at us and not take us seriously. We need a plan." I say with emphasis on the planning part. If this is going to be successful we have to plan our moves carefully.

"Trust me, I've been thinking about this. I say for however long we take, we just stay silent about our partnership. We scout out the opposition and figure out what we should do first."

I am slightly uncomfortable with how fast this is moving. "Roddy we don't even have really a goal much less a name for our group. We can't become the best if we are all over the place. Plus, once again we are just starting out. How will we gain any footing if we don't have anything to really stand on?" I feel like this is becoming less about being the best and more focused on some sort of revenge that he isn't thinking through. He obviously can see my hesitation and puts up his hands.

"You are right. We need to figure out what we are doing first." He looks kind of like he's been reprimanded. "I'm sorry, I guess I have some sort of thing with my brother. He's always been quite skilled and while my skills as a trainer are exceptional, I always feel like no matter what he's the better one of the two of us and I just want to try and be on his level." I chuckle a bit.

"It's ok. There's no problem with a healthy sibling rivalry." He seems to relax at the understanding I have. "But what you can't do is dive into this without a plan. It's like a battle. If you are caught off guard you end up paying the price, both you and your pokemon. I have a vested interest in this group going well so we have to plan it out bit by bit. I am pretty sure I am the strategist of the two of us so we have to figure some stuff out." He nods and pulls out a notebook and pencil from the table in front of us.

"Well ask any questions and I can write down what plans we agree with."

"Ok first question. What is the focus of our group?" Roddy eyes me, obviously thinking it over. It is only after ten seconds or so that he finally answers.

"Controlling the chaos and righting wrong of the PEL." That is quite a formal answer.

"What does that mean?"

"It means that we don't allow anyone to have too much control. We don't allow anyone to push others down. You saw the way Gavin Murdoch acts. Like he owns everything and doesn't care who he hurts to get what he wants. Plus there are people like Darren James that treat their pokemon like tools. People that aren't well liked, but continually take command of others in their attempt to the top." That is a great explanation and makes sense.

"So are we bodyguards for other trainers? Or are they going to hire us to take on their opponents." He thinks for another few seconds before answering.

"No, trainers can fight their own battles. We aren't getting involved in personal conflict. I guess we are just showing that those that think of themselves as gods can be taken down a peg or two."

So basically we are a group of trainers deflating other trainer's inflated egos. In a way it does sound quite interesting. We are showing the world that those that think they are better than everyone can easily be the same as everyone else. Almost like we are…..

"I think I have the name for our group. I think we should be called The Uniters." Roddy looks at me, first with surprise and then a smile crosses his face.

"That's a fantastic name. It defines what we want to do perfectly. We want to unite everyone. Maybe not be friends but want to show that no one is ever above anyone else." So we have a name and a "goal" for our group. But we still have one more problem.

"Roddy, we only have two members. How are we supposed to be a well-known and respected group if all we are is a tag team?" He looks thoughtful for a second but looks at me with a big grin.

"Well we'll get more members obviously. We aren't just going to come out of the fold and announce what we intend to do. We don't even have any rivals or, thankfully, enemies. It's going to take us a couple of months before we are close to prepared to come out and say what we want to do." So this is it. We have the answers to the questions that we thought up and we are going through with this.

"So does this mean I'm a co-founder of the group?" I ask.

He laughs at me. "Yes you are a co-founder." I stick out my and to him after he responds.

"Well then let's be an awesome group together." He took my hand and shook it, forming the partnership of a lifetime and an agreement I never expected to form in such a short time here.

Thank you for reading. I am sorry for the short chapter but there wasn't much more I could go on with this until future chapters. After the next few more chapters we will be getting more action. Please review and tell me what you thought of partnership Zane and Roddy have made. Also if you have any questions or want to talk about any of my stories feel free to DM me.
