I had the urge to write this morning, and while I was deciding what to work on, I remembered that I never revisited Russian speaking, underground fighting, pierced nipples Natsu. Excuse the errors, I just finished writing and I'm worried if I leave it to edit later, I'll forget about it.

Natsu looked over his laptop at Gray once again as the table began to shake. "Dude, your leg."

Gray cursed under his breath as he put his hand on his knee, as though that would make a difference. He'd forget soon enough and be back at it. "I can't believe he screwed this up so bad."

"This being-?"

Gray glared. "The fight club, you moron. I haven't had a fight in way too long. I can't sit still with all this extra energy." He sat up straighter. "Can we just use your dad's club? We can go after it closes so we don't have to worry about boxing correctly."

"Dude, my dad's boxing ring is not there to get ya off."

"Words, dude. Gross."

"Speaking of, why don't ya just get a date and get rid of that energy the regular way?"

Gray snorted. "I wish."

Natsu's fingers paused. "Ooohhh, so that's how it is."

"What?" Gray asked.

Natsu leaned forward with a smirk. "You're dating that blue haired chick, aren't ya?"

"What are you-"

"Normally ya'd just go get drunk and bang someone at a club," Natsu continued as he returned to his work. "The only time ya can't do that is when you're trying to see someone, and the only one interested is that gloomy chick-"

"Don't call her that," Gray growled, cutting him off.

"Fine." Natsu was trying to focus on his work again when he felt the hair on his neck stand up. Ignoring his paper, he looked around. Gray started speaking again, but the words had no meaning other than to create white noise as his eyes snagged a head of long blonde hair. It was pulled into a long braid that swayed gently against the woman's back. Even though he couldn't see her face, he knew right away who she was.

He drank in the sight of her- someone he'd searched every crowd for over the last three weeks. Three weeks of unfulfilling dreams full of burning eyes and a voice that created goosebumps all over his skin. Since he was staring, he saw her body suddenly go rigid, before she started to scan the shop as well. When her eyes met his, he saw them flair in surprise and couldn't stop from smiling. When he mouthed hi at her, her cheeks began to turn red.

"I'll be back," he said, slipping into Russian without realizing it. He closed his laptop and got to his feet.

"Yeah whatever," Gray huffed.

The woman's eyes widened, but she did smile in response as he approached her, hands sliding into the pockets of his jeans.

Oh my gods, he's here. Lucy couldn't ignore the way her entire body heated up at the sight of the pink haired man getting to his feet and heading her way. Panicking, she tried to figure out where to put her hands, how to stand, how much to smile-

"Hello again."

Her dreams had not done his voice justice. "Hello." Her voice didn't break! Hurray!

"I hope this means ya got home safe that night?" The man kept his voice low to avoid letting others hear him, but all that did was heighten her awareness of how it sounded and how close he was standing.

"I did, yes. Thanks to you, of course." Lucy swallowed, confused about where all the moisture in her mouth had gone. "Uh, would you like a coffee or something? On me, as thanks?"

He glanced at the counter, then back at her. "Sure, thanks." An excuse to continue talking to her? Of course he'd take it.

Even just a brief moment of silence had Lucy's thoughts in turmoil. What should she talk about? What was there to talk about? Should she offer to repay him? She could, easily, but would that offend him? Had he found a new place to fight? Could she go watch-

Lucy forcibly pulled her brain back off that track and looked up at the man with a smile. "I'm sorry, but I've forgotten your name." What kind of nonsense, of course you didn't forget his name! Is that really the best you can do here, Lucy?

His eyes and mouth twitched ever so slightly before his smile broadened. "Natsu." The name sent shivers up her spine and she recalled that night once more. The line moved again, and Lucy was certain that Natsu stepped closer. "And you were Lucy, right?"

"Yes, that's me."

He smirked and then looked towards the counter again. He thinks he's so hot because he remembered my name, Lucy thought. She glared at his profile but couldn't even be mad. She was the one who pretended she didn't remember his name. Still, that smug look bothered her and she couldn't help but want to wipe it off his face. Inspiration struck and she began to search her purse.

Natsu ignored the pang in his chest. Or rather, he tried. The fact that the woman who had been constantly in his thoughts these last few weeks had forgotten his name bothered him. Immensely. He did his best to pretend it didn't, though. When she tapped his arm, he was surprised to find her offering him a piece of paper. "What's this?"

"My number," she answered, smug. There was no way he wasn't going to try and give her his. He'd already tried, the night they met, so this time, she was going to beat him to the punch!

"Oh, uh, I- " Natsu dipped his head and tried to hide his face as he grew instantly red. Why am I so embarrassed?!

Lucy instantly wanted the ground to swallow her up. Had she read it wrong? She had been so certain he wanted her number! But now that he had it, he looked so uncomfortable. She'd never gotten a reaction like that before! "Or… maybe I should just-"

"No!" His voice rang out through the cafe, stunning everyone into silence. Immediately, he covered his face and groaned. "I'm sorry," he whispered. "I didn't mean- I wasn't saying… Ugh, I was just surprised."

Lucy ignored the looks sent their way and let him have a moment as she faced forward in the line. When they made it to the counter, she ordered for herself before Natsu finally revealed his face again and ordered his own coffee. When they moved out of the line, Lucy couldn't help but chuckle.

"What are ya laughing about?" Natsu asked.

"I just wasn't expecting that," she said.

"Neither was I, honestly."

She cleared her throat. "So, will it be okay if I text you later?"

Natsu's smile was brighter than every light in the cafe combined. "Yeah! Yeah, absolutely. I'll be waiting! Or, you know, not like I'm going to be sitting all day without doing anything else. I just meant- well, you know. I have a paper due, so my phone will be nearby for most of the day."

Lucy laughed and then pulled out her phone. She typed on the screen and then copied his number over from the paper. When their order was called, she pressed the screen one more time before sticking it back in her purse. His pocket pinged as they grabbed their order. With a smile, Lucy started towards the door. "I'm late, but I'll talk to you later!"

Natsu could only wave as she went out the door, sandwich already in her mouth.

When he sat down again, Gray snorted. "Smooth move."

"Shut up," Natsu said, smiling wide.

More to come?...
