Act VII: Revolution, Chapter VI: Pheno Wars, Part Three
August 7th, 2030 - Oklahoma
A Land Rover with three suits riding in, already drinking since noon, crashed the party and swerved illegally on the roadside, striking two of the pro-pheno peoples just barely. The driver howled and hooted and cheered in grand delight over this as the Rover received the damage that was meant for them. Glass bottles and picket signs, whatever was in the hands of the protesters. And oh, the license plate was obtained, but the hit-and-run gang from the rich suburbs gave no care in the world.
Reno, Nevada
A casino had gone up in flames, the body count uppened to eighteen as of yet. The chaos had only begun around these parts as the shooting continued, the tensions of all civilians and aggressive parties rose up. Looting had begun, courtesy of the greed-driven opportunists. Bodies spread around the city, not to keep the noise levels down. The endless firefight in the Kapacity Korp facility had an uneven death toll; bodies around the facility, killed by the snipers perched on the roof. This was the very thing that had the police take a side, when some officers on the force had been set against the idea of a freak called a pheno. Three racing patrol cars full of them were on their way to put an end to the massacre taking place- and then the held-out protesters attacked them while keeping cover from the rooftop shooters. Who knows how the outcome would look like? In any case, whatever the odds were, plenty more would die.
New Jersey
A young black kid ripped apart the fire escape with his powers, sending the five armed men down to their deaths. Why, he was scared, and not just of them, they who dared to come attack them with their bats, their golf clubs, their axes and hammers, what have you, and they forced him into attacking. Bad enough the young black boy was looked down upon because of his skin color, now this was happening. He was, to them, an unbearable monster of such great capacity. And on this day of devastation here, there and the everywhere he could not be bothered to name.
Down below, the metal clanked against the earth, reshaping and attempting to lay as flat as it could with the crushed bodies of the now-dead keeping the catwalks, stair strips and two ladders company in the meantime. And there was the boy, breathing hard and sweating, looking down at the tragedy he caused. Tragedy, but it was self-defense... Wasn't it? He surely thought of it as that, as far as he had been concerned, he was still human, and human beings were fragile and able to bleed still. It'd take long for him to ease his breathing, lower his racing heart back to regular levels, but the parasites had attached themselves into his mind by then. He broke.
Far Away
Lincoln got his stuff in order and in no way did he like it. He was no slave, he did nobody's dirty work, not even the likes of a couple of teenage girls whom had clear ties to the devilish machine plotting and orchestrating whatever it was that it wanted in the world of today. Bethany Kira Chang, with her pair of blades constructed specifically to inflict damage on the supers, and Lissandra Autumn Mercer, another user of the lizard formula, who was real eager to take a bite out of Lincoln, led him away from the cabin with Leni Loud, the scrawny, bony, pale-white woman in need of serious physical help, their hostage. At this second, the wounds on Lincoln had closed, but those blades and the significance they presented had him curious and finger-twitchy to acquire them. He knew he could (he believed it) disarm Bethany by chokehold, maybe snap her neck and deliver those blades right through Lissandra's heart. But only, he had a little doubt he'd pull it off. The blonde had to have faster reflexes, he felt, and ultimately decided he could get one blade through her before they had a matched fight.
Leni kept to herself, but she was scared underneath the layer of quietness. Meanwhile, Lincoln's compliance to their demands had been the main thing in mind. He was keeping her alive, adding truth to his words; he did care for her, even if it had been years late. Leni tried her hardest not to squeal or cry or whatever could really happen.
Lincoln squeezed his hand again. Empty. A few minutes ago, he had a gun in it. Loaded. And he had a probable chance to put the hostiles down- and then he gave up by lowering it. Yes, the shooty-killy albino man had surrendered himself and allowed to be taken by them for... "Enough silence, what is it you two want?"
And another closer look at them had told him he had seen them before, in that pheno-only town called Grimmtown. His eyes flinched only, but he returned back there and remembered Alejandra Santiago and the albino twin sister wandering around. Time traveler, she told him, and it seemed skeptical. Well... Looking at Bethany and Lissandra, adding to the question of 'How did they know where to find me?' had him believing it just a little more. Oh sure, the silly comic books had him ready for this exact moment. "What year did you come from? The four of you, I mean?"
Bethany was alarmed by the man's deduction and halted faster than Lissandra's time to. "Hmmm..." Turning to Lissandra, she whispered, "Prime Supreme never mentioned Loud would show up in Grimmtown..."
"Sh-shut up, he could hear us from here-" Lizy eyed behind her to see Lincoln cock an eyebrow. "Team bonding exercise leads to us being found out, fuck me."
Bethany pressed a finger to Lissandra's lips before coming right into Lincoln's face, one blade being pulled out from her scabbard. "That idiot Alex really messed up, so I'll have her head on a platter," she told herself before addressing to him. "Sure, you saw us four, and we are definitely time-displaced-"
"B-BETH!" Lissandra panicked.
"It shouldn't even be a possibility to consider but Alex talked, brought us here..." Bethany kept the blade in between herself and him. "So, whatever you've gotten yourself wondering, I suggest you start asking. I won't guarantee concise answers but we- I won't hide it from you. We do need you, but if this makes things easier-"
He began. "What year?"
Bethany shook her head. "Can't give you that, but we're three decades apart."
"That other girl has claimed to be my daughter, is that true?"
Bethany threw an angry glare to Lissandra. "Y-yes, that part is true, and she'll be born. But-"
Lincoln scratched his face. "No, don't tell me beyond that. Good to know that she blabbed it out."
"Fine."
"So, what's a group of time-travelers doing in the past? How do I fit into what happens today?"
Bethany cleared her throat. "There are... Parties trying to kill you. Perhaps you've run into a pair of girl zoomers here we've been alerted who have come to from our present to kill you. These two girls are more dangerous than us, you can believe that. One is a brunette with long hair running down past her shoulders, and the other is a blonde-"
"In a green and black jumpsuit or something?" Lincoln had not forgotten about Lynnette just yet.
Bethany snapped with her free hand and smiled. "Ah, yeah! That's the one! She's-" Bethany thought quick to come up with a false story. "-a psychopath who killed Lynn Loud and put on her skin. That's why she looks like your sister, if you ever wondered. The other girl is her sister, they're both devious phenos to say the least."
Lincoln nodded, it checked out so far. Lynnette had tried to kill him, backing Bethany's fabrication a hundred percent. "I've seen the blondie, don't know about the other."
Bethany lowered her blade. "Listen, we... Me and my friend here, we aren't here to kill you or bring harm to you. In fact, we're here to protect you from the likes of them. I know we're a little late to the party, but we need you to trust us-"
Lincoln scoffed, raising his foot. "You two are my bodyguards? You who threatened my sister and stabbed me with those? Good luck."
"I doubt you'd have let us talk and explain ourselves without trying to hurt or kill us," Bethany sassed back. "You're Lincoln Loud, you ask questions when the other guy is dead, that's how you've been and that's how you will be in this future." And Bethany gambled everything she had by dropping and kicking her katana over to him. "Call this a show of trust."
"Trust?" Lincoln looked down at the blade. "Leave my sister out of this."
"Lizy?"
Lissandra took her hands off Leni, who ran back and cowered fearfully behind her bigger brother. Lissandra figured out Bethany's play. "S-sorry, this was Bethany's idea."
"Bethany, huh?" Lincoln jerked his head to Lizy. "And what's her name?"
"That's Lissandra, my mouthy girlfriend," Bethany proudly shared. "The four of us you've seen, we're a team created to protect the nation from rebels. See, where we come from, World War III is real and it's here and it's there and..."
Lincoln's bottom lip split from the top one.
"All because of phenos, that's why."
Lincoln assessed it, carefully studying her face. "You're telling me they revolt against the nation? A fight for dominance?"
"Yes, it is," Bethany lied. "One fine day, nine years from now, they rose up and they tried to conquer this country. They'll declare war on the world. They'll proclaim themselves as the superior human being. But the forces of the Prime Federation would not allow it, and when we would not take the side of this... This madness they desire, we joined the Federation."
Prime Federation...? Lincoln placed a hand to his head, suddenly recalling what that particular name was affiliated with. That, of a timeline that had been defunct. Inactive. It... It could not have been the very same one with the same goals, could it have? No, it didn't even exist right now. Not now, but later. And if McMahon was in no way involved- Of course he didn't, the man was dead! Killed by Lincoln and no other. "Prime Federation..."
"Hm, did she not disclose that to you?" Bethany gave a follow-up nod to this. "Of course she didn't, she was just trying to be cautious."
"Nine years from now?" In that time, he'd still be alive and kicking unless he bit the big one. "What, can this be prevented? This bodyguard mission makes no sense when you can stop something bigger. If you ask me, I think that's foolish, but what am I to expect from a pair of girls?"
"Well, believe it or not, you are a vital key in this war," Bethany expanded. "The Prime Federation was only brought to firm ground because of you and you alone. Otherwise..." Bethany played the part well, selling it to him. "We're the obstacle that prevents the pheno insurgents from taking over."
"Is that so?" Lincoln questioned. "You two taking up arms on the front lines? Fighting the good fight and destroying the enemy?"
"As long as it takes, and as much as we can, yeah."
"Still idiotic," Lincoln believed. "Tell me why it can't be prevented. You said it yourself, it's a simple uprising of the phenos in nine years. Who starts it and where do I go to kill them before they get the funny idea to launch the domestic attack?"
"Easy," Bethany signed with her hands. "It's not so simple, things... Have already been set into motion. The snowball effect, if you will. We don't know ourselves, small groups struck simultaneously after..." And she stopped so as to not disclose the real truth she attempted to hide, to not alert Lincoln of what his real purpose was. "The Decimation."
Prime Federation Base
Troy Lindemann reported back to the leading figure of the Federation, the one called the Supervisor, letting him know there was no issue in taking the Ultimate Human alive. Surely this meant a great promotion- and then there was Phoebe Ward, who had come back in pure disgrace, having to tell the leading man of her incompetent fuck-up in capturing Leia Prescott, the single lead to Dylan Blood, and that was before her being berated for letting Meli get captured by the likes of the phenos once under the Patriot Division. Meli, who could have talked, been killed and discarded just like that, placed on the blonde.
Troy listened in to the shouting, followed by Phoebe's harsh exit out of the current Prime Supreme's office. "What did you do?"
"Oh, bite me, Lindefag," Phoebe coldly hissed his way, sulky and humiliated to say the least. "It was so simple when the op started. We've caught us the zoomer twins, then it went downhill from there. A P-O-I minor popped up on radar, wanted her for information-"
"What, a minor?" Troy unraveled his crossed arms, moving from against the wall. "A pheno, right?"
"Regular," Phoebe answered. "Somehow working right under the Tacitus creep."
"The same one behind that video?" The surprise sounded in his voice. "No joke?"
"We had her, Lindefag!" Phoebe angrily stated, holding open her hands out flatly before she folded them into fists. "And then, she slipped out of our hands! The so-called Superbeast of Dadetown and other phenos popped the fuck out of nowhere and made us look like posers! Like pushovers! They've..."
"They've what?"
"It's bad..." Phoebe let the shame fall over her. "They've kidnapped Meli."
Troy faked a serious attitude, showing signs of visible concern while, right on the inside, had actually been glad. Meli Ramos being taken by the likes of the Prime Federation's enemies meant she would relay the message of Troy Lindemann's defecting directive that belonged to him and the four phenos that made up the unannounced Justice Teens. Surely now they had to have known of his and Leven's secret plan to dismantle the genocidal kingdom from within. If it worked their way-
"I've tried to get ahold of her, no luck," Phoebe sighed. "Her Lobelink might've been broken."
"What do you mean might've?" Troy rubbed his chin. "You ran on that idea without tracking? What a wonderful team leader, I'm glad I took the hothead."
"Oh, please!" She felt challenged and jerked her head and scoffed at him. "As if you could do better!"
"It just so happens, I did."
"What?"
"The Ultimate Human, Phoebe," Troy dropped with a cocky smile, "he's here."
"...You son of a bitch, you're lying."
"Would you like to meet him?"
"What about-?"
"We'll figure this out, the Supervisor has his main target, we all know the clone's the one he wants out of all."
Phoebe nodded rather slowly, still processing over her failure. "Yeah, I guess you're right... I guess you're right. What about Shepherd? Is he back with Allie?"
"I'm just about to check on that," Troy replied, smiling upon the idea that Allie had returned after weeks of being on mission. "Shepherd had to have brought both her, Lemuel Porter and the third person. Details weren't disclosed to any of us, just Crudensky."
"Bet you're thrilled about her being back," Phoebe laughed, flexing a muscle. "And so ends our sparring period."
"You're still salty about losing more times than Allie has."
"Ha, maybe," Phoebe winked. "Regardless, I'll leave your big brother ass alone for the rest of the day. You two have much to talk about, I'm guessing."
"If possible-"
Phoebe turned around and waved her arm up. "Yeah, yeah, you want me to do both our tasks, and I'm sure the Supervisor will agree to it as it seems fitting to punish me, but..." She turned her head back at him. "You owe me, got it?"
"Anything," Troy promised.
"Good..." Phoebe wandered away to her private quarters in silence. The floor crawled with soldiers and lab technicians and scientists, the latter two groups sporting the same white lab coat that made them indistinguishable from one another, not that she cared. The place was wide, running four full sides unlike the Black Network base, of which was just a maze of corridors and rooms. She considered this place as big as a pyramid (in reality a pyramid was bigger, and let's face it, Phoebe Ward had never stepped foot in Egypt), filled with an arsenal that put any other armory to grand shame. An arsenal consisting of high-tech weapons ahead of its time, a prime example being the tens of hundreds of anti-pheno weapons- you had the normal guns with the special bullets that depowered the new type of human being, and then you had new types of arms exclusively constructed to combat that specific enemy. One of these new guns, Phoebe hoped to try it on the killer of her sister Paula. That one responsible, that Lynn fucking Loud of the FBI, declared dead until she resurfaced as a zoomer. Resurfaced? No, that wasn't what Phoebe saw. It was more, to her, along the lines of faking her death and joining the enemy. And why would someone fake their death? To drive suspicion away, that's why. Enough reason for Phoebe to believe what she did now.
And right now, the last Ward sister alive had held onto a framed picture of her and Paula as kids, standing and smiling with perfectly innocent smiles, their backs facing a vast, beautiful lake behind them, and on the right of the picture, the sun took to being reflected on it. "Paula, I'll see to it, I promise..." she had said with a breaking voice, weakly teary-eyed of the emotion. "I'll avenge you yet."
Troy stared through the one-sided window of a tinted cover, his eyes setting on Lemy, Lynnette and Lyle for the first time, the two former of the three recovering rather slowly from James Shepherd's merciless hand; the violent aggressor was there with Troy, rubbing his aching sets of knuckles, enjoying the next scene of their victory. "Are those-?"
"The scruffy-haired boy and the blonde girl were found, but the safe house Allie was dispatched to was destroyed."
"That sounds like bad news, James, why do you-?"
"I know you, and this isn't what you need to here but I cut the bullshit," Shepherd told him with little care, his mind not on solid ground. "The kid Lemuel here claims that she was kidnapped by the one and only Lincoln fucking Loud."
"K-kidnapped-?" He blinked in reaction, but it would not set in for awhile. "Allie wasn't...?"
"Sorry, we've tried to find her," Shepherd enforced, "but under the Supervisor's order, and with Peter being behind the suggestion, Allie was not allowed to have her Lobelink for this."
"Yes," Troy nodded. "Weeks of radio silence, which has been driving me near to the brink of insanity if I'm to be frankly honest."
"Hey, I'm not too worried about the tyke-" James Shepherd would not bat an eye if it turned out Allie had been killed, these words being to ease the concern and fear the younger agent would let inside and be dominated by. "Get your head right, she's a Prime Federation agent, she can't die that easily."
"No, she can't," Troy agreed, but a squeak in his voice let out to betray him. "She's to come back to me in one piece, unscratched and unharmed just as we've trained each other to be."
"Don't get sidetracked, lieutenant, or we'll replace you with your own damn clone! Maybe then we won't have a worrywort with a soft spot for some whore's little accident."
"Allie is no accident-"
"Sure she is!" Shepherd stared into Troy's eyes to challenge and strike where the older man knew it would hurt. No room for an emotional bond for anyone fit into the standard uniform. "She is and we made use out of that little girl, she's outlived it up to here! Boo-hoo, give her a funeral-"
At his sides, both of Troy's hands crumpled up into fists, feeling the blood inside boil up as Allie was being disregarded as an expendable cog in the machine. All that time he spent with her wasn't for nothing, and he had something to show for it. That thing was the bond, formed and held up by the foundation that could only be, was, and would always be the memories they've built together. The place where Troy had known how she saw him. Promised him she'd make him proud, that their sparring and additional training would pay off out the field. Once. Twice. And then again.
Surely she was alive, somewhere in this goddamned world. Maybe she could not make contact. Maybe she was out there doing the mud slinging. The shit flinging. Setting fires to frighten the phenos and their supporters- and then Troy remembered Allie was not part of his secret Primers movement. Allie, a regular who showed nothing but disgust and disdain for those she called the deformities of mankind- the ones that survived the testing trials, that is. Beneath that, there just might've been a sort of envy, a looming jealousy of the childish sort. The survivors, albeit contained like slaves, had powers beyond a kid's creative imagination. Just maybe it had been that Allie hated them because they had what she could die for while trying to obtain it herself. The part two to it was that she would not ever have access to it if she asked. She had a future as a young soldier, for all the years to come. But the touch of godhood was right there, always close around, in the shape of tubes and syringes.
Maybe, just maybe, Troy had not actually known Allie from far underneath the surface. What was it that she wanted? What had been the minor's deepest desire of everything there ever was to offer her in the end? Her mother? Multiple death-free passes? Or maybe it was a third thing that he could not see?
And in the end, was losing someone like that a bad thing? Hurtful? Troy released his hands, flattening them out in relaxation. All that he knew now was that Allie had a goal, which meant she'd fight for it as much as she could. No need to worry about her, especially when she stood on the other side, namely because he and his pheno Primers walked over to the other team. Oh yes, the time would soon come when Allie would be gunning for him without remorse; that's how he told her to treat her enemies, as dark and tough as it was.
"If she's dead, of course," Troy cut in, facing back at Lemy and Lynnette. "What can they do? Are we allowed to be debriefed over her op?'
"You'll get a packet," Shepherd addressed, "but for the record, regular boy with a love for arms and a zoomer girl. Get this!" He snapped his fingers as if to start off a presentation, needing all eyes on him. "Blonde girl is looking alot like Lynn Loud, I can't explain it, but-"
"Lynn Loud the FBI agent?"
"That's the one," Shepherd replied, focusing on Lynnette. "But it's not her, the real one is incarcerated in Site Prime. This is a strange case that needs some special attention. I've yet to inform the Supervisor, but today's too busy to drop it into the open right now."
"Yeah, that's smart. Say, the twin zoomers, are they-?"
"Held in their cells, heavily sedated, which is the one good thing Phoebe managed to accomplish during the mess she's made. Tell you, can't let a woman do some man's job, ha! And they wonder why, in the old days, during the earliest days of the beloved nation, no women had the right to vote! The suffrage movement has been composed of the brain-dead women whom I'm sure could have never stopped whining!"
"She just might need more training in that department," Troy shared to oppose Shepherd's idea and viewpoint. "I started off a rookie and an amateur, too, you know?"
"Hmph, the day you fail your countrymen, we'll have your head on a silver platter! Phoebe, on the other hand..." The elder man had licked his lips with a nasty smile, which told Troy that there was some malicious, likely dirty scenario the aging fellow had in mind. Of the rank positions, James Shepherd was just above Troy Lindemann and Phoebe Ward; he was in that spot where he could, at no doubt, solicit sex or sex-related favors from the young woman in turn for his silence in sweeping any such secret he'd catch of her. Which was the only real reason Phoebe had told the Supervisor of the botched part of the mission. Shepherd was thick enough to not realize Phoebe had gotten herself out of a forced fellatio scenario.
"That'll be the day," Troy stated, the beautiful, poetic irony not being lost on him. "Oh, that'll be the day. So, who's the third one there? The one who doesn't know what a haircut is."
"That's one Lyle Edward Jefferson, one of our escaped phenos from the Dadetown facility."
"What, he was one of those freed by the Superbeast girl?" Troy rotated his head diagonally, as if studying Lyle. "One of you guys' original creations..."
"Creation? Ha, two lovebirds made the dork, we just fused his DNA with an Alaskan Husky. I'm sure he knows he's a dog but not down to the brim."
"Today must be the Federation's lucky day, then."
"It sure as hell is, and we'll all drink safe and sound at the end of the day while we watch the world burn down a little more!" Shepherd triumphed with an egotistical hint of arrogance. "We'll be unstoppable! We'll be the force they'll call upon when they find themselves unable to combat the pheno menace! Oh, that cocksucker Dylan Blood might have forced our hand, but it is the Supervisor who had an ingenious counter! The Prime Federation will-"
Meli walked into the base, leading Luna, Loanne, Darcy and Carly in chains, two in each hand. "Not a word, and try to look defeated and in extreme pain!"
"-unveil itself when-"
Lincoln, Lissandra and Bethany fell through the three blue portals that led them into the heart of the Prime Federation base, where they laid eyes on the hangar floor, and its toys eager for the albino to touch and caress as it should be.
"-the world needs us most!"
Chad McCann, Benny Harrington and Leland Callaghan rounded back with Meli, whom signaled them to enact their plan with a nod, giving them a chain to lead their new allies into the cell floor. "Lieut Ward reported you kidnapped-"
"As I figured, but everything's still in play," Meli informed her team. "Chad, status on Troy and the clone?"
"We've brought him in. There's him, and Allie's unit plus one."
"Plus one?"
"A random named Lyle something, I don't know, I didn't pay that much of a fuck," Chad scuffed.
"Lyle Jefferson?" Luna asked to confirm, in which Chad snapped his fingers. "That's the one!"
"Canine-based pheno, that's what I remember Shepherd telling me."
"Yeah, well, tell him-" Meli began.
"Wait, wait, wait," Luna halted. "D-did you just-?"
"J-James Shepherd... Is here?" Carly stammered fearfully.
"Oops, I guess I failed to mention it, my bad."
"You'd..." Luna felt anger, the cold blood inside of her swell up to boil just the same. She had quite the unfinished business with him. "Is he still that ugly pheno?"
"Huh?" Meli was confused. "Oh, no, he turned back to his regular self and was punished severely for doing something so...-" And Meli shut her mouth when she had just revealed that there was a real cure to destroy the pheno cells. "Oh, shit-"
"Where is it?"
Meli stopped when Luna, guided by the chain in her hand, stopped and jerked back. Meli could feel the faint second right before the sweat dripped from her forehead. The heat and the tension of it all; that quest Luna was on, seeking normalcy to be rid of this beastly sense of an inhuman bloodlust that only came in bursts, but was there nonetheless. Any day now and she'd lose control and go on a rampage of bloody carnage. "It... It exists and it's here in the med labs, but-"
Luna tugged again, this time forcing Carly to jump in. "Luna, we need to rescue Leven! We need to regroup with this Troy person and-"
Luna did it once more. Tried, but Meli made it easier and let go of the chain to spare herself from having her arm ripped from its socket at the force Luna displayed. "I want that cure..."
"I can get it for you, y-you just have to-"
Luna grew closer to Meli. "You'll take me to it."
"I- I can't! Not without raising suspicion-"
"You'd better-"
Chad pressed into his Lobelink, "Troy, get down to the north entrance, it's urgent."
"What the hell did you just do?" Luna menacingly asked. "You're not trying to stop me, are you?"
"Calm down, we're on the same side!" Meli reminded the snarling Loud adult, hoping to get a compromise to satisfy all parties. "Give me time to sneak it out, please!"
"We really don't need this now, Luna!" Carly snapped, grabbing the chain's end. "We're this close to get Leven!"
"The cameras are watching, damn it!" Chad hissed. "We're gonna have to make it look authentic-"
"Don't make us fight, you idiot!" Carly warned Luna.
Troy came jogging down, his footsteps echoing about. "Meli? Guys, what are-?" He took notice of Luna and the other three strangers Meli had brought to the Federation. "Did you...?"
"We've brought them here!" Meli stepped back from Luna, "but I let something slip, I didn't mean to!"
"Let what slip?"
"Give me the cure!" Luna demanded again, getting impatiently angry. "Right now!"
"No, we can't risk it..." Troy Lindemann drew his piece, pointing the handgun at Luna. "You four have to be contained just for a short time. We can't let you run rampant and without so much as an idea of the layout on this place! Just get back to your position with us and let us do our thing. We've talked it over, we've memorized our roles here. Chad McCann here disguises himself as one of our own, heads to the electrical room and shuts off the circuitry right after we "contain" you. Benny here runs to my private quarters, where I've stashed night vision goggles. I can't say there's enough for us all but we can navigate for those who won't wear them. Now if you could please-"
"Reunite with your twin sisters," Meli sprinkled in, "they're in the same cell, powerless and alone and afraid, you could straighten them out before we-"
James Shepherd turned the corner, clapping slowly and advancing dramatically toward the two parties in league with each other. "My, oh my! What could this possibly be? Oh... Oh, Troy, I can't believe you would do-" Shepherd ceased his act and drew the walkie-talkie from his waist strap. "All units to the northern entrance! I want anyone so long as they're armed! We have traitors in our midst!"
Troy shot the device right out of the elder man's hand seconds too late. "Shit!"
Shepherd jumped back and repeatedly flicked about his entire hand, making it dance randomly in all directions. A few pieces of the walkie had come lodged in his palm, the pain being so sharp and stinging severely. Next, he hissed and narrowed his eyes at Troy in utter disgust, and not where he dared to look down upon him with that arrogant ego he flaunted around here. "TROY LINDEMANN!"
"Meli, subdue!" Troy boomed. He rushed back into the heart of the base. "It looks like the timetable had moved up! Benny, give Chad a boost! Chad, take form of Shepherd! Leland, freeze him trapped on the ceiling!"
Meli kept her superior pinned above them, only letting go of her hand when the Snowman covered most of his body in an uneven patch of ice. "We're about to have company!"
Further Down
"Everyone?" Lincoln made sure he heard right.
"Yes, everyone!" Bethany leaned her head back out of cover. "This day tells of an attack. Your dear sisters, who will become rebels for the Domicile, had come here for what they hoped would be the final battle between them and these guys."
Lissandra twiddled her clawed fingers, mouth open, snarling with hunger. "August 7th was a big day, a tough day in history, but it doesn't tread water in comparison to The Decimation."
"I don't like the sound of that, nor the fact that there's much I don't know about the fate of our future-"
The system alarm buzzed, chiming its emergency siren every three seconds, followed away by a red light, a slow strobe that wasn't synchronized with the blaring rhythm. "It's happening now!" Bethany exclaimed.
"We can end this here, one big step in the victory of the Prime Federation!" Lissandra proudly claimed. "Present and future! Loud, do right by humanity and have yourself a shot at redemption! Now before those zoomers get wind of where we are!"
"Redemption?" It was a nice joke to hear. "I've done my best to do so!"
He jumped into the turret of the plate-armored truck they hid behind, at long last engaging the Prime Federation agents.
"Why- Why is he-?" Lissandra pointed out.
"Leave it," Bethany whispered lowly to her lover. "This isn't our company, and he knows to attack them because we're not allies or affiliated with the Prime Federation yet."
"Do you think he bought all that?" Lissandra looked back up at the albino- he was too occupied with the mounted weapon, not able to hear the girls' dialogue over the ripping of the weapon into the calm air.
"He's had to, I'm sure of it!" Bethany circled the perimeter, drawing her blades for battle. "Lizy, defense position! Die protecting him if it comes to that!"
"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!"
"This era's zoomer twins are locked, gotta get to them before they're freed!" Bethany fought her way to the cell floor, slicing the soldiers and evading the bullets, taking cover gradually or using the dying guards as one-time body shields. She grew hot, doing her best not to meet a bullet. But between the hangar and the cell floor, there wasn't that many guards. Of course, she knew, thet were busy with the gunning albino or the invading pheno gang whom had broken in and launched a secret attack. And when Bethany found herself facing the steel door with the only small window that revealed to her the original zoomer girls, Lynnette Laude had come running into the Asian girl, knocking her off her feet, and making her lose her signature blades. "You! You of all Domicile phenos...!"
Lynnette stood at the cell of her aunts, opened it casually with a cocky smile spread on her face. "Holy shit... A Primer in the living past..." Lynnette gulped. "Are you alone?"
Bethany got up on a single knee, but never stood back up again once Lynnette grabbed her and dragged her about. Meanwhile, Lola and Lana peeked out slowly, checking both sides of the corridors before they ran off on their own in the labyrinth. They were terrified yet, no clear idea of what was going on, but they'd soon find out.
Leven maintained his peace still inside his cozy cell. So it begins.
Lynnette threw Bethany against the wall, aiming to kill her. "I know you didn't come by yourself! Tell me, is Mercer and Letenko close by?! Maybe Mercer only, I can't be damned sure..."
"You ask these questions like I'll talk! Like I'll answer to an inferior female such as yourself!" Bethany laid her fists up. "All you can do is run around and into me, but can you do the real thing?"
"I'll take you on..." Lynnette seemingly accepted her challenge for a fair fight, but her mind had an image of fingers crossed. "If you want it-"
Bethany went for the first punch, but the knuckles had never connected. Lynnette pulled out the special tail card, wrapping it around Bethany's arm as if it were a live snake, a large Boa Constrictor squeezing the life out of its fresh victim. "How dare-!"
"You'd think I'd play fair and honorably?" Lynnette brought the Asian closer, and, with one claw emerging from her index finger, Lynnette ran it vertically across her face. "That's just some fairy tale, don't you know?"
Bethany kicked herself from the ground and launched a kick right into Lynnette's face. "You don't get it, do you?"
Lynnette recovered and howled angrily. There was an opening she had where she could kill Bethany, the one weakest Primer in her eyes. She had widened her mouth, full of the monstrous set of jaws, and loomed over her like a tower of abominable darkness. She let out her hellish roar, and in the middle of it, Bethany detached a silver round object tucked under her uniform, tossing it from a downward angle, scoring it perfectly into the pheno's mouth. Lynnette spat the round device from her mouth rapidly, moving past Bethany. The grenade rolled in between the Chang girl's feet before it went off- and nothing had happened apart from a simple pop sound emitting from the object. "Cheap parlor trick, Chang?"
"Th-then-?" Bethany had anticipated a device of metallic origin to be worn by Lynnette. It was a lovely surprise when that wasn't the case with the zoomer. "You- You're not wearing an-?"
"That was an Anti-Personnel Magnetic Grenade, was it not?" Lynnette found reason to laugh. "I'm sorry to say I don't carry anything metal!"
A leg sweep performed by "Nyla" had Bethany go down again, lopsided on her belly. Right, it hurt due to her default invulnerability, and right about now did she wish she was one of these phenohuman beings. "There- there is no way, you could not be here!" Bethany reasoned in the state she was in. "Not without the newer model Matrix Portals! You have one-" Her opponent's foot rose from the ground, forcing itself against the temple of her head. Naturally, it hurt to the point of screaming. Perhaps Lynnette was thinking of popping her head open like some red cherry. And Lynnette did not give out, the idea to end one of the Prime Federation thugs of the horrid future. Bethany might have fallen in by force or willingly, which to the blonde did not matter. "Your death means a victory for us, and a blow to Blood's pussy patrol."
"I'm ready to-" Warm red blood rushed down from her base, running down over her left eye, blinding her in that eye. "I've been prepared to die since The Decimation."
"The Decimation...?" Lynnette lifted her leg up from Bethany's head. "What could you possibly know about that? There's no way-"
"I lived through it... Not that it matters anymore!" Bethany reached for both of Lynnette's feet. "Who will kill each other in the end, I wonder?"
"It's going to be me to you!"
"Do it!" Bethany bet, gritting her teeth.
Lynnette raised her clawed hand, and was about to send it down right into the Primer when Lincoln crashed the scene with a carbine rifle at hand. The second he saw Lynnette again, he opened fire upon her killing hand, shooting two out of the five fingers out, and an additional four bullets piercing the rest of her arm. "NO, NOT YOU! NOT NOW!"
"BETH!" Lissandra raced around the shooter, thinking of nothing or no one else but her beloved. And Lynnette cupped her injured hand into her chest and sped away, enraged. "OHGODAREYOUOKAY?!"
"Help- help me up," Bethany wished, stretching her hands out. "Eyes out, if that one's here, they both are."
"How did the copycat know we'd be here?" Lincoln asked.
"They know we'd try to cheat by killing the place where the Domicile is born, and it's here, it's all here. They will try anything, they'll take this risk, right in the heart of their enemy still on its premature level."
"It's come to this, who would have thought?"
"Who, indeed?" Bethany pointed further ahead. "I was going after the twins when that one attacked me. She might have already-"
Lynnette broke the scene between the three, returning while leading Lola and Lana. At them, she pointed and, with a strict and confident voice, she said, "Lincoln's joined these assholes! Lana, Lola, take care of them while I scout an exit!"
"Shit!" Lissandra held Bethany tightly. "What should I-?"
Lincoln raised his rifle again, prompting the twins to mobilize together. "Wait a damn second-" Lola stripped her brother of the gun, dropping it to slide against the floor. Lincoln tried throwing his elbow back to strike the diva sister- and was met with a punch that came from the frontside. Lana, the non-violent one between the twins, pushed Lincoln, and Lola aligned herself, going on all fours behind Lincoln to make him fall easily. And down he went, legs going high up before plummeting down lastly.
Lissandra, still occupied with Bethany, tried to be sneaky, attempted to evade a fight with the zoomers. Lynnette made sure they were pinned; she raced into them, splitting them apart from each other with a punch of her intact arm. "Death to the Primers!"
"Lynn, what-?"
Lynnette occupied herself with Lissandra first, slamming her head into the wall. "You, I hate you more than Chang! Why, I-" Lissandra's slight shriek and clear wince made Lynnette smile in a psychotic manner. "-I could never get to you back home, not like this! Please, if there is a god-"
"L-Lynn, hey!" Lana looked back and pulled the future zoomer from delivering the death blow to Lissandra. "This isn't like you!"
Lynnette tried to break herself free, but the role had called for her, as Lynn, to not have a murder spree, even if it had been for the greater good. Daddy would have agreed- and speaking of daddy, he was there, knocked down to size, subdued by the twins. Lissandra applied pressure to her head, feeling the dizziness in the disorienting level. She lost her mind briefly, looking around the room and not being there. The second her eyes set upon the fallen Bethany, the fog in her mind had gone away. "Agh, no, we can't afford-!" Lissandra jumped up and pushed both Lynnette and Lana to gain space between them. "Bethany!" Lissandra had grown rather scared; she was up against three of the superior type of pheno, she couldn't win. And when a Primer could not win, Prime Supreme Blood had the proper, yet unethical punishment to hand out. No, no, they'll kill Lincoln Loud! The Decimation needs to happen!
Bethany sat herself against the wall, faced the carbine rifle scattered away and unattended. She reached under her uniform, feeling around. Lo and behold, she was graced by the gods to have her last magnetic grenade at hand. She used it, activating it in her bare hands. It did its job, pulling on the rifle, making it move by itself right into her arms. The rattling of the firearm caught the party's attention, confusing them when they had seen the gun move by itself. Lincoln shot his eyes to both ends of the wide hall, erroneously believing Lucy Loud II had somehow joined in the shitfest. Bethany grabbed the carbine and aimed at the zoomers, it having been too late for them to realize-
Bethany opened fire- right upon Lissandra when Lynnette spun her right into the line of fire to soak up the bullets after Lola had moved Lana out of harm's way. Bethany stopped and panicked, having injured her partner even more than she'd been. Her hands were quick to throw the rifle back to the side, the grenade still sticking to it right until it exploded, giving the rifle a running start away from the lot of people. Lynnette pushed the wounded Primer to the side, letting her fall once more. Bethany had remained leaning against the wall, cornered by the trio of speedsters. Oh, crap... Not like this...
Remember, if you are ever pinned by the enemy, she heard Dylan Blood say to the team, clock yourselves out. Take all the information with you to the grave.
Suicide, Bethany thought internally. Lizy, you know what- A dagger had come out of its hiding spot in her left leg. Lissandra knew what that fearful look of her love meant. She protested, but a croaking moan erupted through her lips.
"Lincoln, going as low as to recruit young girls in your bloodthirsty crusade?" Lola showed immediate disgust, shaking her head at him, clicking her tongue. "It's a genuine shame, Lincy. You're going to lead these amateurs to their deaths. Look at them, they've just been beaten by us- maybe a little too violently-" Lola shot "Lynn" a cold glance, "but of course, we wouldn't have the need to defend ourselves if you didn't have your little slaves here attacking us."
"Lola..." Lincoln raised a finger and pointed at the green zoomer, "you can think whatever you need to, but that thing is not Lynn."
"I needed this disguise to throw our enemies off my trail," Lynnette explained, keeping up with her fictional story attached to the role. "They're looking for a woman in a red suit. I modified the suit and dyed my hair, as I've already explained to the twins."
Bethany gulped and froze, not acting to kill herself just then. Had she added that Lynnette was not Lynn, the cards of surprise would fall flat on the table.
"You've gone delusional, Lincy," Lola shamefully said, disbelieving his claim. "Lynn is-"
"If you two hadn't noticed, that girl is shorter than Lynn, but if you haven't noticed that-" Lincoln got up and raised his fists. "Fight me. Fight me without your speed, fake Lynn."
"We don't have to-" Lola was silenced when Lynnette brushed past her, taking upon Lincoln's challenge. "Lynn, no!"
Lynnette formed a dark smile, one of quenching thirst, a tender eagerness made of desperation and hunger. She cracked the knuckles of both hands, followed by her head. "You've beaten me once before, but that was beginner's luck."
"Don't get too cocky, you little bitch," Lincoln retorted, meeting the zoomer at halfway. "Have your rematch."
Phoebe Ward geared up, loading up with her gear; an armor vest with magazine pouches, all four occupied, shoulderpads and kneepads set, and for good measure, a buck knife in its leg holster, strapped tightly and patiently waiting to be used for the enemy. She went to the floor blindly, unsure of the situation's danger level, but the alarms meant it was bad enough. Silly of her to have switched off her radio, maybe there had been al alert. She turned it on and called to anyone listening. "Does anyone copy? What's the status of the base?!"
No one replied, however.
Meli led Luna and the crew to the cells, surprised to find them all opened prior to their arrival. Meli was dumbfounded and terribly confused as to how they were released before their knowledge; maybe this is what the alarms had been activated for. The zoomer twins and Allison Taggart's ignorant affiliates were on the loose. Luna sniffed the air and pulled Meli back. "I smell someone close by..."
This was true, for Lemy and Lyle were hiding behind the door on the opposite side of the block. "You can smell-?"
"Yes," Luna entered the cell where the twins were kept. "They were here..."
"New plan, security room!" Meli motioned. "We have to locate all escapees and rendezvous immediately."
Lyle recognized Luna's mildly raspy voice from the door, and stood up. "Wait, they're not hostiles, man! They're good people!"
"How do you know?" Lemy was distrusting of anyone not him, Lynnette or Lyle, especially when they roamed around in this hunk of metal and armed men. "Fuck that-"
Lyle pushed right on through and called out to Luna. "Hey, it's you!"
Darcy and Loanne interpreted Lyle as an enemy, posing in their silly battle stances, which for Loanne's, needed great work. "Who's that, another pheno?"
"No, it's okay," Luna assured.
"He's one of us," Carly reinforced, waving her hand at the pair. "Figured he was long gone, though."
"Lyle, was it?"
Lyle formally shook Luna's hand and had a gentlemanly smile worn on his tan-pale face. "Glad you remembered, whereas I could never forget you! Was that you who rescued us?"
Luna shook her head. "We were about to... You didn't see who opened up these prisons?"
Lyle rotated his head clockwise. "That's the thing... They opened up by themselves, I thought you...?"
Lemy bravely peered inside, studying the women suspiciously.
"Not us, but did you see where the others went?"
Lyle pointed a finger at Lemy. "His girlfriend is a zoomer, and she raced out as soon as we were freed. We heard you coming so we hid. Hey, Lemy, you're safe with us!"
"How did you get caught? You and that Sweetheart girl, you had each other's-"
Lyle made a sour face, his eyes suddenly gleaming with faint pain. Luna zipped up, knowing that the worst had come alive to introduce itself to the young teen. Luna never dared add any other word about the dead Lindsey now. "I hit trouble," Lyle had replied, lacking some emotion, rubbing his elbow in a guilty fashion.
"We all have... Today is a shitty day, dude!" Luna then proceeded to squint her eyes. "Hey, where is the redhead?"
Lyle's heart beat up against his ribcage, the inside of his head feeling hot and tight, a worse type of headache at most. He took his eyes off of Luna, and closed them. But he found that he could not keep the death of his close friend, his best friend, a secret. Not like this, not when his own heart was a rather fragile, softened type of heart today. Lyle was in anguish yet. "She... She's..." He simply shook his head, hoping he didn't have to blurt it out. If he did that, Luna was a dense dyke.
Luna and Carly understood what Lyle meant. "Oh... Oh, that's-" Luna kept her mouth open to express her condolences, but it didn't feel like she could complete it. She hated it for what it was, how unfair it had been, a mockery of life that went on to laugh and spit not just on her, but the rest of the pheno type. At no doubt did she believe the redhead youngling was killed by their enemies. Lyle didn't need to say that, but it compelled Luna to see this through to the end, to exterminate the evil faction they stood before. That, and then she would get her hands on the cure. A farewell to the Superbeast of Dadetown, and a proper farewell to her late lover Samantha Sharp. "Stand with us, dude! We're here to defeat the big bad once and for all!"
And just then, the system's lights powered down, engulfing the entire place into total darkness. Benny Harrington had come with the special package, putting night vision goggles in the hands of Darcy and Carly. "Put those on and stay alert! Follow me to the center!"
Darcy strapped the goggles on and had Loanne place her hands right on her shoulders. "I'm your eyes."
"Luna, I'm-" Carly finished placing hers only to see Luna grab Lyle's hand, coercing him into their group. "I guess I'll take that other guy..."
Lemy walked right into the wall, bumping his head. "What's happening?!"
"I don't understand," Lyle shared, "what is this place? And who are these people? Is this Vial again?"
"No, but we're about to find out!"
Leven sighed and lifted his hands, still in cuffs, had shame to express. "I'm sorry, I know I left you all in the dark, but it was the only way me and my Primers could move. And move, we're just about to. I need you-"
The virtual AI cut him off, "I am monitoring them as we speak. It seems they have established contact with your so-called Primers. I have given them a hand in switching off their electrical grid by means of override. Now you sit alone in the dark with your secret agenda and both ally teams conjoined. I leave this to you now, Leven."
"Hey..." Leven dropped his hands. "You who could never possibly feel emotion... From one artificial lifeform to another... I miss you, Linka."
And purely in Linka's own soft, girlish voice, the AI responded back, "I love you, big brother. I know you'll find a way to save me! I believe in you!"
"I promised you I would..." he told the AI, "and there will be a way!"
Troy barged in and uncuffed the clone. "Don't worry, it's me! We're already executing our master plan, which isn't working as perfectly as we hoped, but we have a better advantage!"
"Do we?"
"Team Loud and Team Primer are officially working together, we're about to fight everyone down below. Figured you'd wanna be a part of the battle."
"Sure," Leven agreed in the dark. "Got a spare NVG?"
"Sorry, man," Troy denied, loading his Colt. "I'll lead you, let's go!"
Caroline Pingrey had a laugh when the squad of soldiers had trouble in breaking Shepherd out of his icy prison. They could not shoot at the ice without harming him, so they opted to boost each other up to strike their rifles against it. At that point, Phoebe came jogging into the scene, stunned by what she saw. "Ice? That's Callaghan's doing! Has anyone seen the phenos?!"
It was at that second the lights had been killed, leaving the group stumbling around blindly. "Shit!"
"HOSTILES IN THE HANGAR! I REPEAT, HOSTILES IN THE HANGAR, THEY'RE TEARING US TO- AHHHH!" Phoebe picked up the radio, "acknowledged, over! Any of you have a light?!"
Luna, Meli, Carly, Darcy, Loanne, Lyle and Lemy met back up with Leven, Troy, Chad and Benny on the stairwell just before they headed down to the hangar. "You piece of shit!" Luna's first reaction was to punch Leven for holding out on them, and Carly herself gave him the gift of slapping of which her impact had echoed nearly throughout the hall. "You knew! You knew and you planned this under our noses!"
"It was necessary," Leven tried to reasonably defend his position. "Yes, I admit my capture was faked-"
"BASTARD!"
"Could you do this when I can see?"
"Nice work with the outage, Chaddy."
"Uh, that wasn't me, man," Chad pouted, arms raised. "I came back instead, but-"
"Save the talk, all of you, we've got to get down there."
Lynnette and the twins had gone away, leaving Bethany and Lissandra on their own, seemingly unable to pose a threat, which is what both twins thought. Lynnette herself knew better, but "Lynn" had to stick to them, dragging Lincoln with them. She'd have to kill three people, that much was certain. Now, getting away from the twins would be a little trickier.
They moved to the hangar where only the red emergency lights filled most of the floor, and Lynnette scavenged around the perimeter with her eyes. "Gunfire had stopped momentarily. "Keep eyes out."
Lana witnessed the carnage left by her brother and the Primer agents, revolted by it. "Ugh..."
"Lana, hey-" Lola snapped her fingers to divert her sister's attention away from the graphic scene. "We're almost out, we put him behind bars and we find Luna and the others and tell them about this."
"L-Lola, do you think they've encountered some trouble? You know, like us?"
"I... I don't know, but they were all together, we were caught because we were only two, but Lynn is with us now, that makes the odds better now!"
"He's getting a little heavy," Lynnette faked, "do any of you mind-?" She jerked her head to the right, seeing Team Luna and Troy and his defecting party come out of the stairwell. If that wasn't enough, Lemy was also there, the person who could blow her current cover. Damn it, this is why I left him back at the cells! Oh, dear God...
"Oh, Nyla!" Lemy was pleased to see Lynnette holding their target. "You did it, you fucking did it!"
"Goggles off," Troy instructed the large group.
"Who- who's Nyla?" Carly wondered.
"Lana? Lola?" Luna was the only one of the bunch to break tactical protocol and rush in to see her younger sisters. "You're all okay!"
Lynnette moved back, getting nervous. This was not how it was supposed to be. "Shit-"
Luna had hugged the twins, taking in the joy before she gathered herself again and noticed Lynnette behind them, and worked to make a semi-angry face. "Lynn... You're the last person I expected to see here."
"...Uh?" Lynnette helplessly muttered.
"No, wait... The both of you, actually."
"Lunes," Lana gently spoke, "give Lynn a break, she's not on his side, not anymore."
Lynnette flinched.
"It's true, let's-"
"...Lynn?" Lemy had moved closer to "Nyla" and wound up hearing their conversation. "What- what are you talking about? She said her name was Nyla Laude-"
Lincoln threw his head back to strike Lynnette, and, with the fear of herself being discovered, made no effort to get Lincoln back. He crawled away from her, struggling his way back to the zoomer twins. "THIS IS NOT LYNN LOUD, YOU IGNORANT FOOLS! KILL HER! KILL HER BEFORE THE DECIMATION IS SET IN THE FAVOR OF THE DOMICILE!"
Lynnette hit panic mode a hundred percent and booked it away from there. Lemy took it upon himself to follow the blonde while the crowd objected to a degree. Lola was about to take off after "Lynn" when Lincoln sprang up and pounced on her, both hands right on her tiny head. He meant to kill her if they didn't stand down- and yet, the deal was that they all had to die so that the rest could live. Right now, Lola was leverage. "You're feeble enough for me to break your neck, Lola," he whispered onto her. "You'll be my hostage! You and Lana both!"
"Hey, d-don't you dare-!" Lana pleaded.
"Lana, the three of us will leave, but I want you to collect the two girls you've left behind and you bring them along!"
"B-bastard..." Lola grunted.
As this had progressed into a dilemma, Lynnette had stopped and took cover, making sure she hadn't been tailed. And she had been, by none other than the terribly lost Lemy, looking around for her with little disregard for himself in a place of death such as this. Lynnette took a deep breath and wondered just what Lyra would do in this think-fast type of scenario.
"Nyla? I saw you come this way..."
He posed no threat but surely he'd ask the important questions. And when Lizy and Bed were around, safe spaces were thrown out the window. "Here..." Lynnette stuck her hand out behind the armored vehicle she concealed herself behind, waving it up and down. "Lemy."
"What... What happened back there? You had him, and-"
"They were... They called you-"
"Don't," Lynnette shushed. "I know, Lem. I know..."
"What don't I know, Nyla? F-first..." Lemy's hand twitched, not to be noticed by him. "Allie, but you?"
"Allie kept from us both for her own sakes, Lem, but my reasons... They aren't so selfless."
"Who are you, Nyla?"
"I can't tell you that, it's not so simple..."
"They c-called you-"
"When this is over, Lem..." Planting a hand to her chest, she made him a daring promise. "I'll tell you all that I couldn't. Just you... And only you..."
"Are you one of them...?"
They were interrupted by Lincoln leading the zoomer twins away with him. "Nyla" took her arm from her chest and pointed to the three. "Does not matter, but what does is that he goes down, and this is our best chance to do it."
"Yes, you're right..." Lemy agreed, projecting his anger. "We'll never get the chance-"
Lana was seen with both wounded Primers, giving Lynnette a fright at first- and then it changed into rage. Both of them, dragged in each hand by the tomboy sister. Lynnette sped in and punched Lana out cold and cracked her knuckles. "What do you think you're doing, Lincoln?"
"Not letting up, are you?"
"Let me go, or Lynn will-" Lola was dealt with a blow of her own, with the same measure in force, taking away Lincoln's hostages.
"You're on your own, backed into a corner and with no moves left to make. You remember Lemuel here, I'm sure." Lynnette circled him rapidly, then used her built-up force to push him down, right at Lemy's feet. "Get him up, we're doing this far from here!"
Leia Prescott minded her own business and had the radio station turned up high for the pop songs that played. She leaned back in the seat of the car, eyes closed, thinking of nothing but the safety she had, all while the supers were off fighting God-knows-what, it was too much to take in. It was a good half hour until the party crashers had come.
The car flipped on its side without warning, sending Leia spiraling down to the side, head, arm and shoulder impacting on the window. At the top, the passenger door ripped itself away from the hinges, floated momentarily and then found its place to rest. Leia pushed herself from the window, leaning against the safe seat cushion, and Lupa's shadow had moved erratically enough to get her attention. And when Leia looked right up to the passenger's exit, Lupa had been standing there. A girl of dark clothes, white hair, and a face of a dark covering of a sort- dark skin and green veins in pure view. And in those eyes where there would normally be cold blue eyes, were nothing but pearls of the milky-white variety. Nothing but the white nothingness that Leia had questioned about if Lupa had a soul. Leia had become scared again, enough to lift her hands as if she was about to be arrested. "D-don't hurt me."
"Leia?" And there was Dylan Blood's voice, making her gasp. "Is that you, Leia?"
Lupa levitated the blonde girl out of the car, placed her back on her feet for her to meet up with the collegiate-aged Dylan Blood. "S-sir, uh- What's going on? Who is this?!"
"Is this the place?"
Seconds later, Lynnette and Lemy appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the empty field, watched closely by the three. And there, in Lynnette's hands, was- "Go, defeat them, clone," Dylan gave to Lupa. "And bring them all to me."
Final battle at the Prime Federation base continues. Lyra, Liby and Lacy are totally coming for this. Artwork for chapter 86 exists, and it ain't pretty. Thanks, Julex.
