SPOV
After Owen was full and burped it was Tommy's turn. I looked down at my son as he was eating and I couldn't help but smile at my little man. "You and your brother are just the sweetest little boys I've ever seen in my life and I am so glad that I finally get to hold you and snuggle you in my arms." His eyes sparkled with happiness as he looked up at me while he was still eating. This little one was going to be a cuddlier, I just knew it.
I watched Eric come downstairs just as I was finishing burping Tommy. "Everything is all setup up stairs Lover."
"Thank you Sweetie." I was cuddling Tommy on my shoulder getting ready to put him down when I got the overwhelming feeling that there was someone nearby that shouldn't be here. "Eric, will you take the baby please."
He did as I asked, but I could feel his concern flowing heavily through our bond. "What's the matter Sookie?"
"Nothing, I just need to check on something. I'll be right back." I know that I should have told him what I was feeling, but I needed him to stay with the babies and make sure that they were safe.
I quickly headed for the kitchen and out the back door before he could stop me. I don't know who was out there or what they were or wanted, but I could definitely feel somebody the farther I walked.
I opened my mind up as far as I could reach as soon as I was out the door. I scanned quickly and I could feel that it was a fairy that was in the yard and it wasn't a fairy I recognized. I wondered if it was the same fairy that Hunter and Eden had seen before. If it was he and I needed to have a little chat. I did not need or want strange fairies hanging around my kids.
For some reason I could sense him, but I couldn't pin point his exact location. I threw out some of my power to freeze him so that I could find where he was hiding, but before it could hit him it was deflected. That had never happened before and it made me very nervous, not just for my own safety, but for the safety of my growing family if I couldn't protect them.
I wanted to find this fairy that felt he had the right to snoop on my family, but I could feel Eric's worry growing by the second as well as the boys calling for me, so I hightailed it back inside as I felt the mysterious fairy pop away.
Eric was waiting for me at the door with both boys in his arms as I walked back into the house. "Sookie, what is going on?"
I took Owen from his arms and cuddled him on my shoulder. "There was a fairy in the backyard. I didn't get a look at him, but what's worse is he deflected my powers somehow." I could feel the anger and anxiety building quickly in our bond from Eric and I heard his fangs click down. "Eric, he's gone now. We just need to focus on the boys and stay vigilant right now, okay." I sent as my calm as I could to him.
He was quick to put his fangs away and pulled me and Owen into his arms. "Alright Lover."
We went into the living room and Eric was heading upstairs, but I veered off to the kitchen where Amelia and Octavia were. "I'll be up in a little bit Eric, I want to talk to Amelia and Octavia for a few minutes."
"Do you want me to take Owen with me?"
I looked down at my son in my arms and I could feel that he was getting sleepy now that his tummy was full. "Yeah, my little man here is getting sleepy, aren't you Pumpkin?" He smiled up at me, but he could hardly keep his eyes open. "Oh, you are so sweet. Here you go Daddy." I gently placed him in Eric's waiting arm.
"We'll be upstairs when you're done."
"I'll be up shortly." I leaned in and kissed Tommy, Owen, then Eric before they headed upstairs and I went into the kitchen. I found my witches drinking sweet tea and chatting. "Hey guys, I'm not interrupting you am I?"
"No, we were actually just talking about the uninvited visitor you just had."
"That's what I wanted talk to you about as well. I don't know who was out there, but even my powers couldn't stop him. I know that he's a fairy, but he's something else too."
"Do you have any idea who would have sent him, or why?"
"I don't know who could have sent him, but I'm almost positive he is the same fairy that was hanging around Hunter and Eden. He got close to them once before, I don't want that to ever happen again."
"Sookie, I promise that Amelia and I will do everything in our power to keep whoever that fairy is from getting close to your family ever again."
"Thank you Octavia. Now I'm going upstairs and spending some time with my husband and my babies."
ONE MONTH LATER
Time has just seemed to fly by. The past month as flown by in the blink of an eye. Owen and Tommy have been growing like weeds and the three of us have been enjoying quality time with the family, especially with Eric. There haven't been any more unwanted fairies in our yard since that day, but we still haven't been able to find out who he is. I really wanted to believe that he was gone for good, but I knew that was too good to be true.
Now we were just one week away from our official coronation. I was beyond scared that my premonition was still going to happen no matter what precautions we were taking. I don't think I could handle anything happening to Eric right now. He was my rock and me and the boys needed him so much right now.
I was in the living room playing peek-a-boo with the boys and they were loving it. Seeing them so happy right now helped alleviated some of my worries. They were laughing and sending all kinds of love and happiness into our bond. It was amazing how they were able to do that so soon. I had high hopes that they'd easily be able to control any and all powers they were going to be blessed with in the future. I just hoped that they would not show up until the very distant future, but I had a feeling that some were going to show up a lot sooner than I realized.
Tommy was drooling all over himself, so I turned to get a cloth out of his diaper bag. I had only let both of them out of my sight for a few seconds, but when I turned back to them they were both floating about a foot of the ground. "Holy Crap. ERIC! Get in here right now!"
He was by my side in seconds and he froze when he saw the boys. He was shocked for a second before our bond was filled with such pride and just a touch of smugness. "Can the smugness Eric, how are we supposed to care for two flying infants?"
"Lover, they will be fine." As soon as the boys heard Eric's voice, they quickly floated into his arms. "See Lover, they know to come right to Daddy when they fly."
"What if I'm out with them by myself? They can't just be flying around anytime they want." All my worries were coming back tenfold at this new predicament until the boys floated out of his arms and over to me wrapping their little arms around my neck and filling the bond with love.
"See Sookie, you are their mother and they'll know when to stay close and when to stretch their legs. It will be instinctive for them."
"I know that you're right Eric, but I'm still going to worry. With this happening now on top of our coronation and my worry about my premonition coming true…" My throat started to close up as I spoke and tears filled my eyes remembering all over again what I saw happen. "Eric, I can't lose you, we can't lose you."
He quickly pulled me and the boys into his arms and held us close. "My love, nothing and nobody is going to hurt me. I'm the son of a goddess, nothing can stop me."
I wanted so badly to believe him, but we had no idea who was behind the attack to begin with and I hadn't had another vision since. I knew that no matter what we were going to be all right because I had seen Eric and I in the future, but that still didn't ease my fears completely.
Eric held us for a few more minutes until the boys started to get fussy and were rubbing their little eyes. They were so cute, but I knew they needed to be changed and put down for a nap. Eric took them from me and headed upstairs to tend to them. I just needed a little bit of fresh air to calm me down some more after everything that was happening.
I wandered out into the backyard to try to center and calm myself. I could hear Hunter and Eden playing on the new jungle gym that Eric had purchased. I looked over at them and they were climbing and having so much fun. I smiled at them until I noticed movement from the woods about ten yards away from them. I could tell right away that he was fairy and he had his eyes on my kids. I was not about to let him hurt them.
I quickly popped behind him, grabbed him, and popped to the back part of the property before he even realized that I'd done it. I held him down with my power at full force to keep him from getting away before I spoke. "Who are you and what are you doing skulking around my kids?"
"Princess, I swear that I am not here to hurt you or your children."
"Then what the fuck are you doing here then?"
"I'm here to watch over you even against the prince's wishes."
I couldn't stop the confusion that washed over me. "What are you talking about?"
"There is a fairy who thinks that you are his, but he is not an ordinary fairy. He is a fairy-vampire hybrid."
