Author's note: So I posted a new story recently and I got several negative comments from one reader. I'm going to rant here for a minute, then I'm going to let it go. I have had a run on bad luck that is hopefully going to turn around soon. If any of my kind readers are willing or able to help in some way then I am extremely grateful, if you can't or don't care what I have to say, there's the door. Nobody here is ever forced to do anything that they don't want to do. So for those of you who enjoy my writing, the ones that I do this for then enjoy and if you feel so inclined, leave me some love, if not, that's you choice. Enjoy:)
SPOV
I could feel Jess' panic building as well as my own. This could not be good. I threw up my magic so that Hunter and Eden wouldn't see what was happening. "Eric, Godric, come quickly." I didn't know what else to do at the moment.
They arrive at our sides almost instantly. Eric pulls me close and Godric takes Jess into his arms. "Sookie, what happened?"
"I don't know. We were just talking, then suddenly her body started to contort and blood poured from her mouth."
"Compton." Godric whispered as he clutched Jess tight in his arms.
"What?" I was confused. I'd never seen anything like this happen before.
"He's calling her. She'll be ripped apart if she doesn't go to him."
"No!" I clutched onto Eric tighter. "I know we need to deal with him, but I won't send Jess to him like this."
Eric pulled my focus on him. "What if you sent in a duplicate Jess?"
"What are you talking about?"
Even with the trouble we were facing right now Eric still managed to give me that sexy smirk and leaned down to whisper in my ear. "Our bedroom." He pushed the thought of the night I conjured a second Eric and I felt myself grow warm all over.
"Oh." I turned to Godric and Jess trying to keep my mind out of the gutter. "I have the ability to replicate someone. I think I can do that for Jess so the duplicate can find out what Bill and Warlow are up to."
"Are you sure that it's safe for you to do that right now Sookie?" I could hear the fear in Godric's voice and see it on his face. I would do anything to help both him and Jess, they're family.
"Yes. I'll monitor the duplicate and if anything should go wrong I should be able to call her back here."
"Please, it hurts so much." I could feel Jess' agony and Godric's pain having to watch her. I couldn't stand it any longer.
I put all of my focus and magic into what I was doing. I added a little bit of myself to the duplicate as well so I would have a stronger connection to her and so that I would be able to see what was going on around her.
When I was finished a second Jess appeared and took off at vamp speed to answer her maker's call. She zipped right past the Compton place, not that I thought they would be stupid enough to go there, but you never knew. Soon we would know where those two bastards were hiding.
Godric clung tight to Jess as he carried her inside. Hunter and Eden were still oblivious to what was happening and the twins were with Lulu and Pam. He carried her into the deserted living room, sat down on the couch and immediately tore into his wrist and put it to Jess' mouth. I was shocked for a moment until I realized that he was showing his affection and protection over her by sharing blood. I could feel the shock coming from Eric, so I grabbed his hand and pulled him into the kitchen before he could say anything. "Sweetie, why are you so shocked? You know that they are together."
"It's just a lot with everything else that is happening lately." He set his hand over my flat stomach. "The threats against the boys and now our girls being conceived. If anything were to happen to any of our family right now I don't know if I'd be able to handle it."
"Oh Eric." I wrapped my arms tightly around him. "Everyone is going to be just fine. You are a demi-god and we've got a goddess on our team. No matter what, we are going to make it through anything and do it stronger than ever."
"I want to believe you Lover, but I can't help worrying."
"You wouldn't be you if you didn't worry about everyone. But this time you have to trust me. I'm not going to do anything to hurt our children, but I'm not going to let anyone else in our family suffer either."
"I do trust you, more than anyone." He leaned down and kissed my head while wrapping his arms around me. We stood there for a few minutes just holding each other before he slipped back into his bad ass self. "Lover, can't you tell where they're hiding out yet?" I don't want anymore surprises right now."
I closed my eyes and focused on the part of me in the duplicate Jess. She had traveled much further than I expected and nothing around her looked familiar to me. She arrived at an abandoned house and somehow I could tell that she was a few miles outside of New Orleans. She walked into the barn and was met with the two banes of our existence.
The part of me that wanted to protect my boys was telling me to pop to where they were right now and end them before they could hurt anyone else. The part of me that wanted to protect my newly formed daughters knew that I needed to be smart about this and make a plan before I did something foolish. That part of me won out.
The duplicate Jess walked into the barn where Warlow was waiting for her. He grabbed her and chained her to the wall. Zombie Bill went over to her and clamped onto her thigh drinking deeply from her femoral artery. What the hell was he doing? I tried to slip into his mind, but there was literally nothing in his head right now, surprise, surprise. I turned to Warlow and focused on his thoughts instead.
I gave that moron my blood and it wasn't enough to keep him from being a slobbering idiot. I need his help to get close to my intended bride. Once I get my hands on those brats and their blood I will be able to bring my Sookie to my side. If it weren't for that damn bastard Northman, I wouldn't need Compton. I would already have my wife and my children would be growing in her belly. His thoughts turned to fantasies of him and I together. I did not need or want to see that, so I quickly pulled out of his thoughts.
Since I had the connection to the duplicate Jess I decided to take a quick peek around the property they were on. There weren't any human minds close by, but I could feel a vampire void coming from the house. It seemed at if they were drugged or something because I wasn't getting anything from them, but there was something familiar about this vampire.
I turned my focus back on Warlow and while he was still lost in his sick fantasies, i dipped deeper into his memories for any memories of the mysterious vampire. Luckily I found them just below the surface.
He'd been wondering around downtown New Orleans a few nights ago when a scent caught his attention. He followed the scent and came upon a female vampire in a leather outfit, stiletto boots and shoulder length dark hair. "Excuse me, but are you Miss Gainesborough?"
She turned around and I could tell that her vampire senses were on high alert. "Who wants to know?"
"Me." He clicked down his fangs and had her by the throat before she could react.
"Who the fuck are you?"
"I'm a vampire more than four thousand years older than you and you young Nora are going to be my bait."
I pulled myself back into my own body after hearing her name and realizing just who that vampire was.
Eric was focused on me when I fully came back into myself. "Sookie, are you alright? What happened?"
"They are in an abandoned house a few miles outside of New Orleans."
"What did they want with Jess?"
"Apparently Zombie Bill needs her blood to not be a slobbering idiot."
"Is that Jess in any danger?"
"No. Where she has some of my magic she'll be safe no matter how much they try to drain her." I paused and realized that I just needed to tell Eric what I'd seen. "Eric, there's something important that I need to tell you."
"What is it?"
I could feel the worry roll off of him, so I needed to just spit it our. "Warlow has your sister Nora."
