"Once we drop out of Hyperspace, we'll be going dark," Ahsoka informed a hologram of Rex, who had his arms crossed with R4-G6 standing next to her, projecting Rex's transmission with his holocommunicator as she sat in one of the Phantom's seats on the walls of the shuttle as Sabine and Satele stood behind Kanan, who was piloting the shuttle on both sides of the Jedi Knight as the Phantom traveled through Hyperspace with its wings unfolded.
"Are you sure about this?" Rex asked her.
"Yes," she answered.
"Ahsoka, you don't have to go to Malachor alone," Rex told her as he held out two of his fingers, "I could be there in two rotations."
"I'm not alone, Rex," Ahsoka reassured him.
"You know, I could have ordered you to take me along," Rex told her.
"You don't exactly outrank me anymore," she stated.
"In my book, experience outranks everything," he said, recalling his very first conversation with her back during the Battle of Christophsis as he placed his arms on his hips.
"Hmm, then I definitely outrank you," she told him.
"May the Force be with you," he said as his expression changed to a serious one as R4-G6's holoprojector switched off as Rex's hologram turned off.
"Why is Rex so worried?" Satele asked as Ahsoka stood up and approached her and Sabine behind Kanan, "Uh, what does he know about this planet in the Malachor System that me and Sabine don't?"
"Yeah, does it have to do with the Mandalorian Wars and our ancestor, Revan?" Sabine asked, agreeing with her twin sister.
"Not sure, Sabine, but Malachor has always been off-limits to Jedi," Kanan answered.
"Why?" Satele asked with curiosity.
"Old legends," Kanan sighed, "Stories told to us as younglings in the Temple."
"There's always a bit of truth in legends," Ahsoka told them.
"If Malachor is off-limits, why would Master Yoda send us here?" Satele asked when the Phantom suddenly jumped out of Hyperspace as they entered the Malachor System with a gray colored, rocky and barren looking planet in the distance.
"I don't know, but I trust Master Yoda," Kanan told her, "There's something here for us."
"Yeah, something to help us stop the Inquisitors," Satele stated.
"And Vader as well," Sabine added, agreeing with her sister.
"Knowledge," Ahsoka said, correcting both Mandalorians.
"A ship? What type?" Satele asked Chopper, who grunted from the Phantom's astromech socket as the shuttle entered Malachor's atmosphere before he grunted a response through the shuttle's comm system as she sighed, "He can't tell."
"Track it, let's see who else is interested in this place," Kanan said as he swooped the Phantom around.
"Could it be an Inquisitor?" Sabine asked them.
"I was thinking that as well," Satele said, agreeing with her.
"You both might be right," Kanan said, agreeing with both of his Padawans.
"Whoa, look up ahead," Satele said as she saw a huge crater-like formation with six towering stone monoliths within the crater-like formation, "What is that?"
"I don't know, but the ship we're tracking went there," Kanan answered, "I'm gonna set her down."
The Phantom soon landed on the ground nearby with its wings folding back up as the shuttle rotated around before its rear hatch opened up as both Mandalorians exited the Phantom with their helmets over their head as Satele also had her jetpack on her back as R4-G6 followed them with both Kanan and Ahsoka in front of them as they exited the shuttle as well.
"I don't see any ship," Satele told Sabine, Kanan and Ahsoka.
"Nor do I," Sabine said, agreeing with her sister.
"It's gotta be around here somewhere," Kanan said before turning around towards Chopper as the astromech closed the Phantom's rear hatch from the astromech socket, "Chopper, try to get a fix on its location." Chopper then grunted a response as he pulled one of his metal arms and waved at them.
"You better stay with him, RG, who knows what trouble we'll be getting into out here," Ahsoka sId as she turned to her astromech, who beeped a response before Chopper reopened the Phantom's rear hatch and rolled back into the shuttle before Chopper closed it again.
The four Force-wielders then walked away from the Phantom and began to approach one of the towering monoliths and as they neared it, they saw that it had an ancient language's alphabet engraved on it.
"What are those letters?" Satele asked, not knowing what language the words belonged to.
"Yeah, what language is that?" Sabine asked, agreeing with her sister.
"This writing… It's in the old tongue," Ahsoka answered as she hovered her fingers above the writing on the towering monolith.
"Can you read it?" Kanan asked her.
"I can try," Ahsoka answered as she bent down on her knee as she sighed, "It's a very old form, I can only make out a few words." She began reading the words in the ancient language, when Satele became entranced as she looked at the alphabet and walked towards the towering monolith as she pulled her hand towards it before Ahsoka stopped trying to translate the ancient language as she noticed what the Mandalorian was doing, "No! Satele, don't!" Ahsoka was too late to stop her as Satele's hand touched the writing, which glowed red as she pulled her hand away from it as the glowing coming from the writing began to spread to the ground beneath them cracked open, causing them to fall through the cracked floor, screaming.
The four Force-wielders landed in a cavern, dozens of feet below the surface of Malachor with Satele, Sabine and Kanan landing on their stomachs as they were disoriented, while Ahsoka used the Force to land safely.
"What is that?" Satele asked as she, Sabine and Kanan got back on their feet and saw a huge pyramid shaped structure in the distance.
"A Sith temple," Ahsoka answered as Satele walked up next to her before they along with Kanan and Sabine began to explore the area and as this was happening Satele saw light coming from above, despite that most of the cavern was covered by a wall for a ceiling and placed her hand through the light when Chopper suddenly grunted through her helmet's comlink.
"Oh, we might fall through the surface?" Satele asked Chopper, sarcastically as she activated her helmet's comlink, "Thanks for the warning, Chop."
"Any fix on that ship yet?" Kanan asked Chopper with his comlink before he grunted a response, "He's picked up a trail. This way."
"I bet whatever we're looking for is inside that Temple," Satele surmised as they followed Kanan, passing by petrified remains of an ancient cataclysm.
"I was thinking that too, Sat," Sabine said, agreeing with her.
"Seems likely," Kanan said, agreeing with both of his Padawans as he climbed up a structure that led to a walkway that looked somewhat like a bridge, "Just remember, girls, if there's a ship, we're not alone down here."
"Ahsoka, you said we're here to find knowledge," Satele recalled as the Togruta climbed up the structure and stood next to Kanan, "What kind of knowledge?"
"The forbidden kind," she answered, "To defeat your enemy, you have to understand them."
"No better place to learn about the Sith, I guess," Kanan told both Mandalorians before they began to follow them as they climbed the structure and as they walked across the walkway, an Inquisitor watched them from above and afar behind a damaged structure before quickly moving to another hiding spot as Satele looked at the location of where the Inquisitor was hiding before shrugging it off, figuring that she was seeing things.
"The ground looks scorched," Satele said as she looked at the ground around them as she saw the petrified corpses before seeing an ancient looking lightsaber, "Whoa, Kanan, Sabine! Look a lightsaber." She approached the lightsaber and saw more ancient lightsabers, "And another." She then picked up one of the lightsabers up before igniting it as three green colored blades came from it, one from the top of the hilt and two smaller ones from the side below the top of the hilt and as she ignited it and knew that it was a crossguard lightsaber, she felt like the Kyber crystal inside of it was calling out to her as she turned to the others, "This lightsaber's crystal is calling out to me."
"Then it seems you'll wield two lightsabers like I do, Satele," Ahsoka told her.
"I sense one calling out to me as well," Sabine said as she approached one of the ancient crossguard lightsabers and picked it up before igniting it as three blue colored blades came from it, one from the top of the hilt with two smaller ones from the side of the hilt below the top of the hilt, causing Kanan, Satele and Ahsoka shared a look that said that Sabine will soon have a lightsaber of her own as Satele and Sabine removed the Kyber crystals from the lightsabers that called out to them and placed them in one of their armors' bags.
"This was a battlefield," Kanan said, crouching in front of one of the petrified corpses.
"It looks almost like the aftermath of the Battle of Malachor V," Sabine added.
"What happened here?" Satele asked as she looked at the petrified bodies.
"It looks like at one time, thousands of years ago, Jedi knights attacked the temple," Ahsoka surmised.
"And the Jedi won, right?" Satele asked her.
"From what I can tell, nobody won," Ahsoka answered.
"I hate to break up this history lesson, but we should keep moving," Kanan said as he began walking forward.
"I agree. The faster we finish our mission, the quicker I'll get to begin constructing my lightsaber," Sabine said, agreeing with Kanan as she followed him.
"Well, if you ask me, this whole planet is a riddle," Satele said as she and Ahsoka continued to walk with Kanan and Sabine.
"So if it's a riddle, what's the question?" Kanan asked her, stopping as the Inquisitor that was spying on them disguised themselves as one of the petrified corpses began moving as they grabbed their lightsaber from their back.
"Why is Kanan such a…" Satele started to answer before seeing the Inquisitor jump towards them after igniting both of their lightsaber's blades before she yelled as she grabbed her lightsaber from her armor's belt and ignited it, "Get down!" Her lightsaber then clashed with the Inquisitor's as they went into a saberlock before he was pushed backwards as both Kanan and Ahsoka grabbed their lightsabers and ignited them, while Sabine grabbed her electrostaff from her back and extended it as the four of them entered Jedi battle stances.
"Four Jedi?" The Inquisitor observed.
"An Inquisitor!" Satele said as she, Sabine, Kanan and Ahsoka rushed towards the Inquisitor as it hopped backwards and landed on the ground a few feet backwards from where he was standing.
"Take cover!" Ahsoka warned as three missiles flew from around the Inquisitor and collided with a petrified corpse where Satele took cover, causing the ground around her to crack open.
"Sabine! Kanan!" Satele yelled as she fell through the ground around her.
"Satele!" Both Sabine and Kanan yelled as they ran over the hole from the cracked floor and saw Satele on her back, groaning with her left hand over the back of her head.
"Sis, can you hear us?" Sabine asked her sister.
"I'm okay," Satele reassured them.
"He's getting away, let's go!" Ahsoka said as she went to chase the fleeing Inquisitor.
"Don't worry about me, I'll catch up!" Satele promised them as her sister and Kanan went to chase the Inquisitor with Ahsoka.
"Kanan, she'll be alright, she's a Mandalorian like me after all," Sabine reassured Kanan as the Inquisitor jumped onto one of the large pillars in the area before jumping again and began using his lightsaber as a propeller to fly away.
"Sure, I'll catch up," Satele sighed as she stood back up, "Soon as I figure out where I am."
"I know where you are," she suddenly heard a familiar masculine voice but couldn't place it on where she knew it from say before she turned around and saw a mysterious figure wearing a cloak over his head in the shadows holding a cane in his hand, "You're with me." The mysterious figure then chuckled as Satele grabbed her lightsaber and reignited it as she aimed it at the mysterious figure, "Please put your weapon away. I… I mean you no harm."
"Stay back!" She warned the mysterious figure as he began to approach her, "I'm warning you, old man."
"Forgive me, it… It's just, I've been alone so long," the mysterious figure apologized and stuttered as he stopped walking towards the Mandalorian, "It's been years since I've spoken to anyone."
"You live here alone? Uh, in the dark?" She asked with surprise and disbelief.
"Not by choice. My ship crashed. I'm trapped, marooned. I've had to scrounge and scrape to survive," the mysterious figure explained.
"Look, I'm sorry. Okay? I wish I could help you, but I have to get back to my sister and our friends," Satele said, feeling bad about what had happened to him as she aimed her lightsaber at the hole she fell from.
"Well, perhaps I could help you," the mysterious figure offered.
"I doubt that," she scoffed, not believing that he could help her.
"Why are you here?" He asked as he continued to walk towards her.
"I'm not gonna tell you that," she said, refusing to tell him why she was on Malachor.
"You came for the same reason I did, years ago," he realized, "You seek knowledge."
"It's in the temple, isn't it?" She asked as she looked at him.
"And I know the secret way to get inside, but, but I'm too old," he told her, "I… I… I need help to open the door."
"What's inside?" She asked as she slid down the hill she was standing on and approached him.
"Help me and find out," he answered.
"Show me this doorway," she said as she climbed up a structure towards him.
"Please, this way," the mysterious figure said as he gestured his hand to his side in the direction of where the doorway to the temple was.
"You first," she said, not trusting him.
"Do you not trust me?" He asked her.
"I don't know you," she explained.
"Well, let's change that," he suggested, "Call me 'Old Master.' And you?"
"Call me 'Satine Kryze,'" she lied as she still didn't trust him.
"Hmm," Old Master said, clearly knowing that she was lying but shrugged it off as he walked forward, "Come then, Satine."
"We've never had an Inquisitor run from us before," Kanan said as he, Sabine and Ahsoka continued to chase the Inquisitor, "Have we Sabine?"
"Yeah, we haven't had that happen before, Kanan," Sabine said, agreeing with her master.
"Maybe it's because he's outnumbered," Ahsoka suggested.
"Yeah, we do outnumber him three to one," Sabine said, knowing that Ahsoka had a point.
"He did seem surprised," Kanan told them, "I don't think he was looking for us."
"Then who is he tracking?" Ahsoka asked as she stopped and deactivated both of her lightsabers.
"Maybe it's another Force-Sensitive like us," Sabine suggested.
"Hmm…" Kanan said as he deactivated and turned around, thinking about what his Padawan suggested when Chopper suddenly grunted on his comlink, "You found the ship? Where?" He grunted a response from inside the Phantom near R4-G6, "No, no. Forget it, no time! Get over there with RG and find that ship. Do not let him take off!" He and Ahsoka then reactivated their lightsabers as they continued to chase the Inquisitor, "We'll follow your and RG's signal." He then grunted frustratedly, "No, disobeying me is gonna be dangerous. Now get going!"
With that said, Chopper and R4-G6 both activated their rocket boosters as they flew out of the Phantom and through the hole that Satele accidentally created when she touched the ancient Sith writing as they entered the cavern to find the ship that Chopper found with the Phantom's scanner.
"How much further?" Satele asked Old Master as they walked through the area to the Sith temple as she used her lightsaber as a light source.
"You worry about your sister and friends?" Old Master asked her.
"They need my help," Satele explained.
"Yes…" Old Master said before sighing, "...and with good reason. The Inquisitor is powerful."
"Wait, you know about the Inquisitor?" Satele asked him as she lowered her lightsaber.
"He is my enemy," he sighed as he turned around towards her, "All Inquisitors and their masters are my enemies."
"Were you a Jedi?" She asked him.
"Uh, no. No, no. But I was once a Force-wielder, long ago. Long, long ago," he told her.
"Then you're a Sith?" She asked him.
"The Sith…" he said, repeating what she said, "The Sith took everything from me. Ripped me from my mother's arms, murdered my brother, used me as a weapon, and then cast me aside. Abandoned me. Once, I had power, now I have nothing. Nothing."
"I know how you feel," she told him, "The Empire forced my parents to give me away to a couple on Lothal because of my affinity to the Force when me and my sister were five, who were unable to have children of their own before the Empire arrested them for treason and executed them a while ago."
"And you want revenge," he stated.
"I want justice!" She corrected him.
"Yes, yes! And you shall have it, for I have discovered the key," he told the Mandalorian.
"The key to what?" She asked him.
"The key to destroying the Sith," he answered.
"Well, that is the knowledge inside the temple?" She asked him as they continued walking towards the secret entrance to the Sith temple.
"Yes, that temple holds secrets of the Sith, secrets that have been buried with the dead for thousands of years, since the time of the Mandalorian Wars," he confirmed as they approached the secret entrance to the Sith temple.
"And you'll share this knowledge with me?" She asked him.
"Yes. Yes, of course," he answered as Satele began to walk up steps into the Sith temple's secret entrance with Old Master following her.
Chopper grunted as he and R4-G6 saw the ship that Chopper found with the Phantom's scanner, an Advanced TIE fighter with its wings folded as it was landed on the ground within the cavern before chopper landed on top of the TIE fighter, near the hatch with R4-G6 landing nearby on the ground as Chopper grunted as he pulled out both of his metal arms and spun his dome around when suddenly a crimson red double-bladed lightsaber flew towards him, only for Chopper to moved back a bit as it passed by him, scraping a part of the TIE fighter's hatch, surprising both droids before it flew back into the Inquisitor's hand as he stood on the ground, across from the droids before the hatch flipped open as Chopper hopped into the TIE fighter and grunted frustratedly.
"Filthy droid," the Inquisitor said as he ran towards his TIE fighter, while Kanan, Sabine and Ahsoka ran towards him as the Inquisitor activated his saber's spinning feature as the four of them entered battle stances when suddenly the TIE fighter began to lift off of the ground, causing the Inquisitor to spun around as Chopper began firing the TIE fighter's laser cannons with the Inquisitor deflecting his TIE fighter's lasers with his lightsaber, only for one of his TIE fighter's lasers to hit his hand, causing him to drop his lightsaber as he fell backwards on his side as Chopper grunted in a laughing tone as Kanan, Sabine and Ahsoka began to approach the Inquisitor as he crawled towards his lightsaber as he placed his hand on it, Ahsoka stepped placed her foot on it as she and Kanan aimed their lightsabers at the Inquisitor, while Sabine did the same with her electrostaff as the Inquisitor lowered his head in defeat.
"Chopper, sometimes you do it right," Kanan told Chopper before he grunted a response.
"Whoa," Satele said after she and Old Master entered the secret entrance and began to approach the Sith temple.
"A place of worship for some. To others, an engine of destruction," Old Master told Satele as they walked towards the temple, "But at its heart, our prize."
"How do we get in?" Satele asked him.
"Two must lift these stones," Old Master answered the Mandalorian, "No more, no less. That is the way of the Sith."
"That's the Rule of Two. You seem to know an awful lot about them," Satele said as she looked at him suspiciously.
"To defeat your enemy, you must know your enemy. Even practice their beliefs," Old Master explained.
"Yeah, my master wouldn't approve of that last part," she told him.
"Then he is doomed to fail," Old Master told her before sighing, "Now young Jedi, help me." With that, Satele extended her arm outwards to use the Force to lift the temple's stone door up, only to grunt as it was lifted up a bit before falling back down.
"I can't. It's too heavy," she told him.
"Your anger is a wellspring. You must use it," he urged her.
"But a Jedi is never supposed to act out of emotion," she told him.
"Your passions give you strength. And through strength, you gain power," Old Master told her, reciting parts of the code of the Sith, "You have seen it. I feel it. You must break your chains." With that, she extended her arm out towards the stone door again and began to use her anger to slowly lift the stone door up, which it did, "Yes. Use your power." The door continued to rise as they walked forward as Satele grunted, trying to keep the stone door up and within seconds they reached a wall with crimson red lines.
"A dead end!" Satele said as she stared at the wall.
"Focus!" He urged her as she began to use the Force to lift the wall up before he growled as he began to help her raise the wall before they walked through the corridor of the raised wall.
"What do we do?" She asked him as they reached the edge of the corridor.
"Release the one behind you," Old Master suggested before Satele did just that as she lowered her arm before she walked up next to him as they used the Force to lift up another wall before he lowered his arms as he approached the next wall as he raised his arms as he used the Force to lift up the next wall as she followed him and dropped the wall behind them.
"How many of these things are there?" She asked, grunting before walking next to him and raised both of her arms to use the Force to raise the next wall and she continued grunting as both of them walked through the corridor of the wall after Old Master dropped the wall behind them and as they finished walking through the wall's corridor, she panted in exhaustion as she removed her helmet and placed it under her arm.
"Unless you take risks, do what must be done, there will always be limits to your abilities. Seize the knowledge. Seize the power," he told her after coughing as well as gasping as he bent down towards her with his cane, "Do not become like me, Satine."
"My name's Satele," Satele said after he helped her up as she stuttered a bit, "My real name."
"Real name? Yes, I once had a real name. So long ago, I don't remember," he told her before lowering his cloak to reveal that he was a red Zebrak with black tattoos and yellowish-red Sith eyes as she realized who he really was, "Now… Now I am called… Maul."
"I'm no longer gonna help you," she told him.
"Why?" He asked her.
"Why?" She repeated with disbelief, "You full well know what you've done. Divided my people by taking the Darksaber, become ruler of my people by beating Pre Vizsla in a trial by combat despite not being a Mandalorian or follow the Creed. Started a Civil War, which its effects still last to this day and caused Mandalore to become part of the Empire. Do I need to list anything else?"
"You've made your point, Satele. But with the knowledge in this temple, you can use it to free your people and home world from the Empire," Maul offered.
"Fine. Let's just have a temporary alliance," she relented as she placed her helmet back over her head.
"Agreed," he said as they began to go deeper into the temple.
"You're the fourth Inquisitor we've seen," Kanan told the Inquisitor that he, Sabine and Ahsoka stuncuffed after Sabine removed her helmet and placed it under her arm, "How many are there?"
"More than enough for the three of you," the Inquisitor answered before scoffing, "Nothing can save you."
"Which Inquisitor are you?" Sabine asked him, "We've met the Grand Inquisitor, Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister. So, which one are you?"
I'm the Eighth Brother," the Inquisitor answered.
"Why are you on Malachor?" Kanan asked him.
"Hunting," the Inquisitor answered, causing Kanan and Sabine to look at each other for a second.
"But you were not expecting us. Who are you after?" Ahsoka asked him.
"A shadow," the Inquisitor answered after chuckling.
"Behold the key," Maul said as he and Satele entered the center of the temple, where a pyramid shaped red colored holocron was embedded within a monument-like structure across a gap from them.
"It's a holocron," Satele said as she recognized the holocron.
"You know of them?" Maul asked her with surprise.
"I'm a Mandalorian, all of us know about holocrons, Jedi and Sith," she explained.
"How much do you know about Sith holocrons?" He asked her.
"Just the basics," she answered, "How do we get to it? Would my jetpack work?"
"No, it won't. It is a test. Only someone with the courage to risk oblivion is worthy to claim it," he answered.
"Then it looks like you must throw me," she told him, "Yeah, throw me. I'll jump and then you use the Force to throw me. My master, sister and I do it all the time when I'm not wearing my jetpack. Well, a few times anyway. Look, despite our differences we can do this." She then walked back a little before nodding to Maul, telling him that she was ready and he nodded in return before she ran towards the edge before he extended both of his arms out as he sed the Force to push her twice across the gap to reach the area where the monument holding the holocron was with her yelling before she landed on the platform where the holoron was and near the monument as she got back up on her feet and sighed as she began to approach the monument and grabbed the holocron from the monument, causing the room and temple to begin shifting.
Kanan, Sabine and Ahsoka watched as the temple and nearby monument began to light up red as the Eighth Brother moved his stuncuffs up his wrists a bit to send a distress signal to his fellow Inquisitors.
"We need to find Satele," Ahsoka said as she looked at Kanan and Sabine.
"Agreed, if I know my sister then she did this," Sabine said, agreeing with Ahsoka.
"Chopper, get back to the Phantom and get ready to leave," Kanan told Chopper as he turned to the astromech, who grunted as he pulled out one of his metal arms and gave him a salute before activating his rocket booster and flew away.
"You should go too, RG," Ahsoka told her astromech, who beeped a response as he flew away with Chopper before Ahsoka pulled the Inquisitor up by the arms, "Come on, let's take a walk." The three of them then began to head to the temple with the Inquisitor as their hostage.
The monument that Satele was standing at began to rise up as electricity flowed through the top of it as the room continued to shift slowly.
"Jump!" Maul urged her.
"I won't make it!" She told him.
"Satele!" Maul cried.
"I… I can't!" She said with fear in her voice.
"Why do I know Satele's involved in this somehow?" Kanan muttered to himself, knowing how Satele was as he, Sabine and Ahsoka continued to approach the temple with the Eighth Brother hostage.
"You and me both, Kanan," Sabine said, agreeing with him, "And I should know, cause she's my sister after all."
"Trust me!" Maul urged Satele as the monument continued to rise up and after a few seconds of hesitation, she ran across the platform she was on before jumping off yelling as she tried activating her jetpack's thrusters before Maul extended his hand out to use the Force to stop her from falling as she fell down past him and slowly used the Force to pull her up with her grunting and gasping before he grabbed her hand that was holding the holocron before pulling her up and sighed as she stood next to him, "There was nothing to fear. You were wise to trust me."
"She's inside, I know it," Kanan sighed as he, Sabine, Ahsoka and the Inquisitor that they had hostage approached the entrance of the Sith temple, "There's no way she lifted that door."
"Not without help," Ahsoka added.
"So there's really another Force-Sensitive on this planet besides us, the Inquisitor that we captured and Satele," Sabine said, realizing that her suspicion on why the Inquisitor was on Malachor was correct, causing the Eighth Brother to start chuckling.
"What's so funny?" Kanan asked him when suddenly Chopper grunted through his comlink before he grabbed it from his hip, "What is it, Chopper?" Chopper grunted a response, "What do you mean we've got company?" The Inquisitor then started laughing, "Hey, what are you laughing at?"
Just then both the Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother started flying towards them using their lightsabers as propellers like what the Eighth Brother did earlier before kanan and Ahsoka both ignited their lightsabers, while Sabine grabbed her electrostaff from her back and extended it and the three of them entered battle stances as the Fifth Brother landed in front of them and began clashing his saber with Ahsoka's lightsabers and Kanan's as well as Sabine's electrostaff as the Seventh Sister landed in front of the Eighth Brother and slashed her saber against his stuncuffs, freeing him before he used the Force to snatch his lightsaber from Kanan's hip and ignited it.
"An excellent day's hunt," the Seventh Sister remarked as the three of them began to surround Kanan, Sabine and Ahsoka with the Fifth Brother activating his lightsaber's spinning feature.
"How do you open this?" Satele asked Maul as they walked through one of the corridors of the Sith temple.
"One must be a Sith. Or think like one," Maul answered, "But it has…" He then scoffed, "other uses. Give it to me. I will show you." She handed the holocron to Maul, who placed it inside a hole of a wall next to him that was shaped like the holocron, which lit up red as the wall in front of them began to rise upwards, "Sith holocrons are keys that can open many doors." He then took the holocron out of the hole in the wall next to him and handed it back to her before they continued to walk forward towards another stone door which served as the entrance of the temple as it began rising upwards as they saw Kanan, Sabine and Ahsoka fighting the three Inquisitors with the Seventh Sister's mask retracted before Satele grabbed her lightsaber from her hip and ignited it as she ran forward to help Kanan, Sabine and Ahsoka.
Ahsoka clashed her lightsaber with both of the Seventh Sister's while Sabine clashed her electrostaff with the Eighth Brother's lightsaber before she extended her arm out and used the Force to push him backwards with Ahsoka doing the same with the Seventh Sister, while Kanan clashed his lightsaber with the Fifth Brother's before he looked to his side and saw Satele running out from the temple's entrance, "Satele?"
"Sabine, Kanan, Ahsoka, I found someone, which we have a temporary alliance with," Satele announced as the stone door behind Maul closed.
"Maul," Ahsoka said as looked towards the temple's entrance and saw Maul and recognized him from the Siege of Mandalore.
"The Shadow," the Eighth Brother said as he and the other Inquisitors looked at Maul.
"So this is where he's been hiding all these years," Sabine muttered as she looked to see the person who ruled Mandalore when she and Satele were toddlers at the end of the Clone Wars.
"What fun," Maul said, smiling before laughing, "What fun!"
