"It's not funny Renata." Tessa whined after she was done telling her friend the story.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry but you're complaining about him stealing your fries when you do it to all of us all the time." Renata asked, she reached up and pulled her chestnut-colored hair into a ponytail her dark brown eyes sparkling with mirth.

"That's only because you guys never finish your fries anyway."

"How would you know? I don't think you've ever let us try. And then you told him that he owes you more fries? Honey, you owe all of us fries."

"Yeah, yeah I'm working on paying you all back. I mean how many times do I have to buy you guys fries anyway?"

"I'm pretty sure you owe us enough to feed an entire elementary school."

"Oh, now you're just making stuff up." Tessa said with a laugh.

"You've been stealing our fries since junior high. That's almost over twenty years." Tessa rolled her eyes at that part and looked away. "Anyway did your boss get back to you about the information that Bucky edited for you yet?"

"Nope, not yet. It might take a while for him to double-check everything. I mean the info I showed him was written before Steve was pulled from the ice so there's a lot he had to change. Maybe if people would have stopped romanticizing Steve Rogers and Captain America we would have had more accurate information." Tessa said before taking a sip of her lemonade. Their conversation was interrupted when their food arrived and the two of them made small talk about what else had been going on in their lives since Renata had just gotten back from working on the Raft. Ross had figured out who it was that told the government about his treatment of Bucky and he had promptly fired her. This wasn't that big a deal since she had already been hired at a nearby retirement home so she had gratefully left flipping Ross off as she went.

After they were done eating they continued walking down the street to shop, they stopped at a few places and bought things like new clothes and books that Tessa had wanted for a while. While she was looking for a book on the Civil War she passed by the bookcase that held the biographies and stopped to laugh at one that was written about Tony "Oh I have to see how accurate this is." She said as she pulled it from the shelf and opened it up. She leafed through the book stopping to laugh at a few things written before she closed it and put it in her basket along with a second copy, one for Rhodey to laugh at and one for Tony and Pepper. She scanned the shelves to see who else was up there before she realized that it was filled with books on all of the Avengers.

"Looking at birthday ideas for everyone?" Renata asked with a smirk.

"Kind of. I mean Steve's just passed so I have to grab his. Just to see the look on his face." Tessa said before she grabbed one of the books on Steve. The two of them started to head towards the register to pay for all of the books when Tessa froze, she felt her heart start to speed up and it got harder to breathe as she felt a panic attack start to set in.

"Hey. Tessa hey what's wrong?" Renata asked, all she could do was to raise a finger and point in the direction of the man that had caused her to freeze. Renata turned in confusion before she let out a gasp of surprise the man she was pointing at had short dirty blonde hair and when he turned she could see his cold grey eyes scanning over the books before he reached up and she knew that it was Tessa's ex Travis by the dragon tattoo that covered his whole arm and went a few inches past the wrist of his right hand. "Let's go. We have to go right now." She said as she grabbed a hold of Tessa's arm and drug her towards the registers. "No puedo creer que hayan dejado salir a ese bastardo." She muttered under her breath as they got to the register.

"Can't. Breathe." Tessa gasped out.

"Hey, hey! Look at me. Don't look anywhere else but me okay?" Renata said while putting her hands on either side of her face.

"I. Want. Tony. And. Steve." Tessa said as tears started to roll down her cheeks.

"I'll call them here in a second okay? You know that they'll never let anything happen to you. Just take deep breaths, and tell me three things you see right now." Renata said and she watched Tessa look around.

"Books, people, chairs."

"What about what you hear? Tell me what you hear."

"I hear people whispering, books closing, and the coffee pot at the Starbucks over there." Tessa said and she could feel her heart start to slow down along with her breathing.

"Okay now move something for me." Renata watched as Tessa moved her right arm, then her left leg, and finally all ten of her fingers. She watched as Tessa let out a sigh of relief "Are you okay?"

"For now. I still want to talk to Tony and Steve though." She said as they got rung up and left the store. As soon as they were far enough away Renata called Steve and Tony who contacted Happy and had him pick them up and take them home. As soon as they got back Renata walked up to Tessa's apartment with her to help her put her stuff away "He won't come looking for me…will he?" she asked and Renata had to take a deep breath.

"I don't know. But just to be sure you might want to double-check to see if the restraining order's still in place. And remember Alex and I are just next door in case you need us." Renata said before wishing her a good night and walking over to her apartment. As soon as Renata had left Tessa pulled her phone out, pulled Bucky's number up in her contacts, and sent him a text.

I have to work tomorrow. Can you walk me to and from work? When he didn't reply after a few minutes she let out a sigh. You don't have to if you don't want to. She put her phone down and let out a groan as she put her head in her hands. Suddenly her phone went off and she looked up to see who had sent her a text.

Sorry I was in the shower. What's wrong? Bucky sent.

'Other than me now having very naughty thoughts about you?' Tessa thought before she thought about how to best explain the situation to him.

I saw my ex at the book store today.

Okay. What's wrong though?

He….wasn't the greatest guy ever.

Did he hit you?

Yes.

That's all I need to know.

Bucky…..don't do anything to get yourself arrested.

Well, you're no fun.

James.

Okay! Alright! I promise I won't do anything. She sent him a text letting him know what days she worked along with when she had to be there and when she got off that way he could meet up with her. Once all of that was set up she changed into pajamas and got ready for bed, she got up several times to double and even triple check her locks and reassure herself that you needed someone that lived there to let you in and that Travis couldn't get to her before she finally fell into a fitful sleep.
