"Thrawn is preparing for a planetary bombardment," Hera told Dodonna, Lux and Kalani as she crossed her arms as Dodonna had his arms crossed as well as they stood in front of the holotable at the Command center of Chopper Base, which displayed three Star Destroyers, including the Chimaera and the only remaining Interdictor-class Star Destroyer before she contacted Zeb, "How's the shield coming, Zeb?"
"We're about to fire it up now," Zeb answered.
"Rex, Cody and I have done our best, but this is really Sabine's baby, although Satele has helped her construct it from time to time when she could," Zeb added as he stood in front of the deflector shield generator that they got from Geonosis that Sabine has modified its deflector core a few times after they returned from Geonosis.
"Who is this Sabine anyway?" Cody asked them, "I've heard that name before from you, Rex and the rest of the Ghost crew."
"She's Satele's twin sister, Cody," Rex answered.
"Then where is she?" Cody asked him.
"She's currently with their family on the planet of Krownest, a Mandalorian colony and their ancestral home," Rex explained, "But she's also a Jedi like Satele and Kanan."
"So there are more than two Jedi active in the Rebellion," Cody surmised.
"Pretty much, yeah," Rex said, agreeing with his clone brother, "Although Mandalore isn't currently part of the Rebellion as their mother said when they returned to Krownest a month or so ago that Mandalore protects their own before Satele stayed with them for a few weeks."
"I really hope I do meet her," Cody told him.
"Don't worry, Commander, I'm sure that you will meet her eventually," Rex assured Cody.
"Anyway, the deflector shield generator should work," Hera surmised.
"Should yes, but there are a lot of modifications and special fuses," Rex told her, "We never got to test it while Sabine was still here and Satele didn't want it to be tested without Sabine here, but given the circumstances, we currently don't have a choice, so if it overloads, I'm not sure we can fix it."
"Let's hope you don't have to," Hera said from the command center's holotable before lowering her arms as she placed her hands over her hips, "Fire it up!"
"Copy that," Zeb responded.
Zeb then activated the shield generator's power switch as it came to life as a shield appeared over the base, "It's working. The shield is working!"
"Let's just hope it stays that way," Cody muttered.
"Nice work, boys," Hera told Zeb and the clones from the command center's holotable before contacting her boyfriend, "Kanan, do you copy?"
"I read you, Hera," Kanan said as he took his comlink out as he was riding his speeder back to base from the wilderness.
"Thrawn is planning an orbital bombardment," Hera told him, "You need to get back to base immediately."
"I'm moving as fast as I can," Kanan responded from the command center's holotable.
"Faster. Please," Hera pleaded before crossing her arms, "All right, Thrawn. Your move."
"Our capital ships are in position. The blockade is secure," Pryce reported to Thrawn as the Chiss Grand Admiral turned around from the Chimaera's viewport to the Governor of Lothal, the captive Kallus and the two Death Troopers as he still had his arms behind his back.
"And the status of the rebel fleet?" Thrawn asked her.
"The remaining vessels have fled back to the surface and are taking shelter under a localized shield," Pryce answered.
"Hmm. Very good," Thrawn replied, "Let's test their mettle. Commence the attack." As Thrawn said that, the Chimaera and the other Star Destroyers' turbolasers rotated around to aim at Chopper Base on Atollon before they began to fire at the planet below.
"We have incoming fire," Dodonna said from Chopper Base's communications monitor with Lux, Kalani and a rebel trooper standing next to him.
"Kanan, find cover!" Hera said, contacting Kanan as she saw green turbolaser fire enter the atmosphere, near where Kanan was riding his speeder bike.
Outside Chopper Base, as Kanan was flying his speeder, he avoided the laser blasts from the Star Destroyers above in space.
Wedge, Hobbie and Biggs placed their hands in front of their eyes as they saw the turbolasers collide with the shield surrounding Chopper Base with Hera, Dodonna, Lux and Kalani next to them.
"Come on, come on!" Zeb pleaded with the shield generator as it began to overheat.
"I suspected this would happen," Cody muttered to himself.
Soon one of the turbolasers, hit Kanan's speeder bike, causing him to fall off the speeder bike before another turbolaser destroyed it, while Kanan survived as he wasn't hit by the turbolaser's blast as another turbolaser hit Satele's Fang Fighter, destroying it instantly, which was stationed outside Chopper Base for refueling.
"The shield is overheating!" Rex reported as he stood next to the shield generator with Cody.
"They've had enough. Cease fire," Thrawn ordered after a few moments of watching the Star Destroyers fire their turbolasers at Atollon and Chopper Base as Hera closed her eyes and turned away as she watched the turbolasers fire at the shield above her with fear on her face before the Star Destroyers followed the Chiss Grand Admiral's orders and stopped firing, causing Hera to look back at the shield as she opened her eyes with relief on her face.
"It held! It held!" Zeb exclaimed as the shield was still up as both Rex and Cody laughed with relief.
"Kanan?" Hera said, contacting her boyfriend again, hoping that he survived the bombardment, "Kanan, do you copy?"
"I'm gettin' a feeling that Thrawn's actually trying to kill us this time," Kanan responded with a groan.
"Oh, that is only funny because you're still alive," she told him, "Now, Please, come home, love."
Kanan, who had his mask knocked off of his face from falling off his speeder bike, walked towards his mask and picked it up before placing it back over his eyes as he began to walk away from the wreckage of his speeder bike.
"Su'cuy allit Wren. Ibic Satele Wren. Ara'novor gedet'ye. Me'var ti gar?" Satele said, speaking Mando'a into her Kom'rk-class fighter's communication's system as it entered the atmosphere of Krownest, "Ni ne'waadas brokar jorhaa'ir ti ner buir, bintar be ner vods, boyfriend bal te Mando'ade calbur, Fenn Rau."
"Vi haa'miitir, Satele Wren. Gar cleared at Rusur," a Mandalorian from a Fang Fighter painted in the colors of Clan Wren next to Satele's Kom'rk-class fighter replied in Mando'a as the Fang Fighters along with another one with the same colors painted on its hull began to escort her to the Wren stronghold, "Shekekir mhi o'r."
As Satele and the Fang Fighter's pilots neared the Wren stronghold, the Kom'rk-class fighter's wings flipped upwards as it began landing outside of the Wren stronghold.
Satele then entered the Wren stronghold with Chopper along with a fellow Clan Wren Mandalorian behind her and as she entered the Throne room, she saw Sabine, Tristan, who was now wearing his own Mandalorian armor, which was painted mostly silver with some parts of it painted gold along with his armor's right pauldron being painted purple with a stylized expression of a Loth-cat painted on it, a fellow female Clan Wren Mandalorian standing across from them with Rau and Janus, who had dark tan skin, brown eyes and hair with his armor having straps to hold their armor's Beskar plates over his chest painted Gold and silver with her mother sitting on the Throne as they stared at a holographic image colored yellow with dots from a holoprojector on the floor as Tristan had his arms crossed.
"Satele, what's going on?" Sabine asked her sister.
"Yeah, what's going on, Teal?" Janus said, agreeing with Sabine, "Why weren't you at the meeting with us to help free your father?" Chopper then grunted a response.
"You escaped?" Sabine repeated with confusion in her voice, "What's he talking about?"
"My vision of Thrawn ambushing us on Atollon came true," Satele explained, causing Sabine's expression to turn to one of shock, "You, Janus and the rest of our clan are their only hope."
"You have poor timing, Satele," Rau said as he crossed his arms.
"Satele, as you know we're in the middle of a civil War," Ursa reminded her youngest daughter, "Clan Saxon led by Tiber Saxon and Clan Kast, who are being led by my old friend turned rival, Rook Kast has the Empire's backing, and our forces are stretched to their limit just to protect what ground we have."
"I know, Mother," Satele responded.
"Mother, there must be something we can do," Sabine told her mother.
"Please, Mother. Me and Chopper risked everything to get here," Satele said, pleading with her mother, "Please hear what we have to say. And if you do so, I'll see to it that the Rebellion will send help to rescue Father from Imperial custody in Sundari," Ursa then nodded in agreement as her youngest daughter said that.
"Governor Pryce, you're in command of the fleet while I lead the ground assault," Thrawn informed Pryce as they walked across the Chimaera's bridge, only to have Kallus start laughing as Thrawn turned towards him, "Hmm. The plight of your friends amuses you."
"I've been in your position before, only to have these rebels pull a victory from certain defeat," Kallus explained, mocking the Grand Admiral.
"You and I are not the same, Kallus, as these Rebels are about to learn," Thrawn stated before leaving the bridge with two Death Troopers with one of the ones that was guarding Kallus staying behind to guard the Fulcrum Agent.
"Our shield generator's taken a beating," Zeb reported to Hera, Rex, Cody, Dodonna, Lux, Kalani, Wedge, Hobbie and Biggs with Hera having her left hand over her hip, Dodonna having his left hand under his right arm's elbow as he had his right hand under his chin, Hobby having his arms behind his back and Rex having his hands over the edge of the holotable from where he was standing as they stood around the command center of Chopper Base's holotable as a hologram of the coral mesa was being displayed on the holotable as he crossed his arms, "I doubt that it'll survive another attack like the last one."
"I agree, Zeb," Cody said, agreeing with the Lasat as Dodonna lowered his arms.
"I don't think we'll have to. Thrawn was trying to soften us up," Hera told them, "He'll send in ground forces to do the dirty work."
"I agree, Captain," Dodonna said, agreeing with Hera before he pointed at a narrow canyon on the hologram of the coral mesa, "My guess is he will most likely stage a direct assault from this position."
"I came to the same conclusion as the both of you," Lux stated, agreeing with both Hera and Dodonna.
"If we mine these approaches here and here, we can slow 'em down," Rex suggested as he pointed at the approaches that Dodonna suggested that Thrawn and his forces will attack from as Hera placed her other hand on her other hip.
"That's a good plan, Rex," Cody told his clone brother before looking at Kalani, "General, what do you think the odds of Rex's plan succeeding is?"
"I calculate that Rex's plan of mining the approaches will have a 45% chance of succeeding before Thrawn and his forces arrive on Atollon," Kalani answered.
"Despite what the odds are I say we still have to try," Lux told the Super tactical droid.
"Agreed, Senator Bonteri," Kalani said, agreeing with the Onderonian senator.
"Good, now that we have a plan. Rex, you, Cody and Zeb will take a squad down and get it done," Hera told Rex as the holotable's holoprojector switched off and Rex nodded his head in confirmation as he, Cody and Zeb left to take a squad of rebels down to the canyon and mine the pathway as she lowered her arms.
"Scanners have picked up Imperial transports on the western quadrant," AP-5 reported from the communications center next to them as Hera placed her hands back over her hips.
"He's launching the first wave," Hera realized.
"Here's the problem, that Interdictor cruiser," Sabine said, pointing at a holographic image of an Interdictor-class Star Destroyer asa holographic image of the Imperial fleet that was blockading Atollon was being projected in the Throne room of the Wren stronghold from the holoprojector on the floor as she, Satele, Janus, Rau, Tristan and Chopper stood around the projection of the Imperial fleet, while Ursa sat on the Throne.
"If not for Commander Sato, there would be two," Satele said, recalling Sato's sacrifice when he rammed the Phoenix Nest into Konstantine's Interdictor-class Star Destroyer.
"With Thrawn in command like your vision stated, Satele, you should count your losses and consider yourself fortunate to have escaped," Rau told her.
"You really shouldn't say that, Rau, considering what's happening over at Atollon," Janus stated as he looked at Rau.
"Thanks, Jan," Satele told her boyfriend before turning to the rest of their clan, "Like I said without the help of our clan, they're trapped."
"I wish we could offer it, sis, but we don't have the resources, even with the Rebellion's help," Tristan stated, "As you know, we can barely take care of our own."
"Might I remind you, I am Sabine's second-in-command, Tris and after the day I decided to stay and help our people for a few weeks I had to go through my Verd'goten," Satele reminded her brother as the projection of the Imperial fleet switched off, "And I know that Sabine would help me, no matter what."
"She's right," Sabine said, agreeing with her, "I would help her, no matter what."
"As would I," Janus told everyone.
"I appreciate your loyalty to Satele and your friends, Sabine, but this mission is impossible," Tristan told Sabine, "And I'm surprised to see that you would immediately go with them, Janus."
"Well, Satele's my girlfriend, Tristan," Janus explained, "What did you expect?"
"I never thought that I would be standing here with all of you along with Satele or have all of you accept us for being Jedi," Sabine told them, "And I bet you never thought Clan Wren would be free from the grip of Gar Saxon. But we are. One thing I know is that our friends make the impossible possible. If Satele thinks we can make a difference, then I believe in her."
"Your Jedi master brought you back to me from Lothal after your father left you there with Mira and Ephraim for four years before they were arrested for speaking out against the Empire, causing you to survive on your own for seven years, Satele and restored your sister to me, and that is a debt worth repaying," Ursa said as she stood up from the Throne and approached her daughters with her voiced filled somewhat with sadness as she mentioned Mira and Ephraim Bridgers' names, "We can't leave ourselves undefended but you can take a few ships and any warriors who are willing."
"Thank you, Mother," Sabine told her.
"Yeah, I agree, thanks, Mother," Satele said, thanking her as well.
"Neither of you along with Janus have much of an army to take down their blockade," Rau stated.
"Chopper, bring up the Interdictor," Sabine ordered the astromech, who pulled the projection of the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer back up and began to study the Interdictor, "Maybe we don't need an army."
"I hope this plan of yours works, Rex," Zeb told Rex as they along with Cody hid behind some parts of the coral mesa in the pass with Rex holding a pair of macrobinoculars in his hands.
"I'm pretty sure it will, Zeb," Cody assured him.
"Yeah, me too, Zeb," Rex said before placing the macrobinoculars over his eyes and saw AT-DPs slowly walking towards them.
"Here they come," Zeb muttered as Rex pressed the button on the activator for the detonators that they mined the area that the AT-DPs were walking through with, causing three of the AT-DPs to collapse to the ground before he pressed the button again, causing another explosion with two of the three AT-DPs left to fall to the ground with the one in the center continued walking towards them as it was left unscathed.
"We left one for you," Rex told Zeb as the Lasat grabbed a rocket launcher that was strapped to his back and aimed it at the AT-DP before firing its rocket at the AT-DP with the walker's pod being destroyed by the rocket as it fell to the ground.
"They've revealed their meager defenses," Thrawn stated from an Imperial shuttle that was landed in the distance away from Zeb, the clones and the destroyed AT-DPs with two Imperial troop transports that had stormtroopers surrounding the three Imperial vessels as he removed a pair of macrobinoculars from his eyes as he wore a white Imperial officer's battle armor with golden shoulder boards over his tunic as well as a helmet that was nearly identical to that of an AT-ST driver, "Now we will crush them. Mark enemy mines and firing positions. Heavy battalions, advance."
"I know that sound," Rex muttered as he heard the footsteps of a familiar type of walker in the distance as he, Cody, Zeb and a rebel trooper that was standing with them turned around towards the source of the footsteps as the rebel trooper was holding a DH-17 blaster pistol in their hand as Rex took one of his DC-17s out from its holster.
"What are they?" Cody asked them.
"AT-ATs," Rex answered.
"Yeah. And I hate that sound," Zeb added, agreeing with Rex as they saw AT-ATs, slowly walking towards them from a far distance away.
"How are they able to walk on four legs instead of falling over?" Cody asked, surprised that the AT-ATs were walking on four legs and not falling over like what Rex, Wolffe and Gregor were when the Ghost crew met them on Seelos two years ago.
"Wolffe asked the same thing back on Seelos before I rejoined the Rebellion and Sabine explained that its due to their feet and its suspension," Rex explained.
"Now I kinda wish the Republic had walkers that walked on four legs instead of just two and six legs," Cody said to himself as he grabbed his DC-15A from his back.
"Lousy four-leggers," Rex muttered.
"Hit 'em with the detonators, Rex," Zeb suggested before Rex pressed the button on the detonators' activator, causing an explosion to occur around the AT-ATs, only for nothing to happen to the walkers as they weren't damaged by the explosion as they passed through the shield.
"We need Sabine to invent a shield that you can't walk through with Satele helping her create it!" Zeb remarked as he saw the AT-AT pass through the shield.
"You mean so enemy walkers can't come through the shield?" Cody asked the Lasat.
"Yeah, Commander, that's exactly what I meant," Zeb answered.
"Let's hope we get a chance to tell them!" Rex told them as they began fleeing the area with the AT-ATs beginning to open fire on them with their heavy laser cannons as they went into hiding as stormtroopers charged into the area after they cleared the mines from the area.
As this happened, a group of A-wings flew into the area, firing at the AT-ATs with their laser cannons as they flew past the walkers as three of the A-wings containing Wedge, Hobbie and Biggs.
"Hobbie, Biggs, follow me!" Wedge ordered Hobbie and Biggs as Hobbie and Biggs followed Wedge in their A-wings.
"Air groups, clear the sky of that annoyance," Thrawn ordered as he saw the A-wings in the sky attacking the AT-ATs after he removed his macrobinoculars from his eyes again.
With that said, TIE fighters began flying towards and firing at the A-wings.
"Hostiles incoming!" Wedge announced as they began flying with the TIE fighters, following them.
"I see 'em," Biggs said as he began to chase the TIE fighters with Wedge, Hobbie and the other A-wings.
Rex, Cody and Zeb fired their DC-17 blaster pistols, DC-15A blaster rifle and bo-rifle at the AT-ATs before going back to cover when Kanan suddenly appeared near the AT-ATs, igniting his lightsaber before he used the Force to jump as he used his lightsaber to slash two of the walker's legs as two stormtroopers began firing upon them Kanan with their E-11 blaster rifles before the walker fell on top of them, killing them instantly.
"Kanan, glad you could join us," Zeb told Kanan as he approached them as they began retreating from the area, "Hera said you're bringing help?"
"Maybe. Maybe not," Kanan admitted, not sure if the Bendu was gonna help them even if he went as far as to call the bendu a coward before they entered a cave with Kanan stopping and turning around as he sensed Thrawn's Imperial shuttle fly towards them as the sky began to spark with thunder and electricity before following Zeb, Cody and Rex.
"Armored division, hold your position and destroy any rebel ships that attempt to flee," Thrawn said into his comlink after he left his Imperial shuttle with a squad of Death Troopers wielding E-11D blaster carbines as they went into firing position as stormtroopers ran into the cave after the Jedi Knight, Lasat, Clones and the other rebels, "Disembark all ground troops and storm the base. And if possible, capture the rebel officers."
"Here they come!" Dodonna announced as Hera, Lux, Kalani, three B1 battle droids and two rebel troopers fired their blasters at stormtroopers below as they stood above the stormtroopers within the cave, with one of the stormtroopers beginning to fire back at the rebels with their E-11 blaster rifle.
"General Dodonna, prepare any remaining ships for takeoff," Hera ordered Dodonna.
"What about the blockade?" Dodonna asked her.
"If I go out, it's gonna be on the Ghost!" She told him before they along with Lux and Kalani left the area.
Deep inside the cave, Kanan was leading Zeb, Cody and Rex before stopping as they heard chatter from one of the stormtroopers' intercoms, "This way!" The blind Jedi Knight ordered as they ran the other way before a Death Trooper appeared at the other end of the cave intersection that they were standing within and began firing their blaster carbine at them with Kanan deflecting their blaster bolt with his saber before going in another direction as Zeb, Cody and Rex fired their DC-17 blaster pistols, DC-15A blaster rifle and bo-rifle as they ran past the doorway, "The other way, the other way!"
"What was it that I felt through the Force a few weeks ago?" Sabine asked her sister as she sat next to Satele in the Brental Star's co-pilot's seat as the Kom'rk-class fighter and a squadron of Fang fighters painted in the color scheme of Clan Wren traveled through Hyperspace with Chopper standing between them.
"What do you mean, Sis?" Satele asked her, confused by what she meant.
"What I meant is that a few weeks ago, I felt a dark presence through the Force dissipate like it was never there," Sabine explained.
"Oh, that," Satele said, realizing what she meant, "Oh, it was just Maul becoming one with the Force."
"So, this was his ship, the Nightbrother," Sabine realized.
"Yes, it was," Satele confirmed.
"How was he killed?" Sabine asked her.
"Not sure exactly, Sabine," Satele answered, "I only felt his death through the Force after leaving Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine, which is where he was hiding with a clone trooper, Commander Cody."
"What was he doing there?" Sabine asked, confused why the famed Jedi Master would be on Tatooine of all places.
"I don't know the whole story, but from what Cody has told me he has a secret mission on that planet and can't come out of hiding yet but we have to keep this between ourselves and Cody," Satele answered.
"Well, let's hope he completes his mission soon so we can topple the Empire faster than at the rate it already has been going and let's do as you say and keep this information to ourselves," Sabine told her.
"Yeah, I agree with you about Obi-Wan, Sis and help us liberate Mandalore from Imperial control," Satele said, agreeing with Sabine when the Kom'rk-class fighter and the Fang fighters suddenly jumped out of Hyperspace near Atollon, "Chopper, jam their transmissions." Chopper then grunted a response as he went to jam the Empire's transmission.
"Rau, you know what to do," Sabine said, contacting Rau, who was piloting one of the Fang fighters and had his helmet over his head.
"All wings, engage," Rau ordered the Fang fighters from his own Fang fighter as they began to approach the Imperial fleet.
"Governor, we have ships approaching," an Imperial officer reported to Pryce on the bridge of the Chimaera from one of the crew pits as the Governor of Lothal had both of her arms behind her back.
"Rebel reinforcements?" Pryce asked him.
"Mandalorian, by the look of them," he corrected her.
"Sabine Wren," Pryce realized, "Send fighters to intercept and move our capital ships to reinforce them."
"Chopper, patch in Hera," Satele ordered Chopper as the Fang fighters and TIE fighters began to battle each other in a dogfight after three TIE fighters were deployed from one of the Chimaera's hangar bays as they began to reinforce the other TIE fighters before Chopper grunted a response as he activated his transmitter, which began to spin around in a circle as the Kom'rk-class fighter began to approach the only remaining Interdictor that was blockading Atollon.
The AT-ATs on Atollon continued to fire upon Zeb, Rex, Cody and Kanan as the rebels approached and reached Chopper Base as the Jedi Knight had his lightsaber deactivated and clipped to his belt, while Zeb had his bo-rifle in his had with Cody doing the same with his DC-15A blaster rifle along with Rex as he held his DC-17 blaster pistols in his hands as well.
"Kanan, you made it," Hera said with relief in her voice as he, Zeb, Cody and Rex ran towards her, Lux, Dodonna, Kalani and AP-5 at the base's command center's holotable, "What happened with your friend?"
"Oh, don't worry. I think he's coming," he assured her.
"Phoenix Leader, do you read me?" They suddenly heard Satele's voice coming from Hera's comlink.
"Satele?" Hera said with surprise as she answered her comlink.
"I brought help. We're taking out the Interdictor," the Mandalorian informed them.
"Okay, this might be our only chance," Kanan stated, "Let's move!" They all then began to run from the base's command center's holotable to evacuate from the base as Kanan ran next to Hera, "Looks like the family's together again."
"Let's try to keep it that way," Hera told him as the shield generator suddenly exploded as a few stormtroopers fired their E-11 blaster rifles at it.
"There goes our shield," Zeb said as the shield surrounding Chopper Base dissipated as the A-wings flew around the base with TIE fighters following them as a GR-75 medium transport, CR90 corvette and a Hammerhead corvette took off, only for two of the AT-ATs to shoot down the GR-75 medium transport as it flew and crashed down below onto the ground of Atollon before exploding with Hera, Kanan, Zeb, Lux, Rex, Cody, Dodonna, Kalani and AP-5 watching with their arms near their eyes as Death Troopers came up behind them as they aimed their E-11D blaster carbines at them as some of them turned around to face the Death Troopers.
"And now, Captain Syndulla, I will accept your formal surrender. Or you will watch your friends perish, one by one, beginning with the Jedi," They heard Thrawn say as he approached them as Kanan grabbed and reignited his lightsaber as everyone turned to face the Chiss Grand Admiral, "I require an answer, Captain?"
"You already know my answer," she told him when suddenly they heard thunder and lightning crackling from the clouds in the sky above with Kanan looking around despite being blind, knowing what was causing the storm.
"Do you fear the storm, Master Jedi?" Thrawn asked Kanan.
"Yeah. And you should, too," Kanan answered, causing Thrawn to smirk when suddenly a lightning strike nearly hit Thrawn in the back as he deactivated his lightsaber as everyone else looked around to see what was causing the storm as Kanan turned to his friends and Dodonna, "Hang on to something!"
"What Jedi devilry is this?" Thrawn asked the blind Jedi.
"I am the Bendu!" The Bendu suddenly said as his glowing eyes suddenly appeared in the clouds.
"What is that?" Zeb asked, confused about what was happening.
"Uh, Kanan?" Hera asked her boyfriend.
"I told you my friend was coming," Kanan reminded them.
"I bring death!" The Bendu added as he electrocuted the AT-ATs before doing the same to the A-wings that were landed on Chopper Base's landing bay, destroying the rebel starfighters as Thrawn fled the area with Kanan and the others doing the same but in a different direction.
"Hera! Hera, do you read me?" Satele said as she had her helmet over her head, trying to contact Hera as her Kom'rk-class fighter was being pursued by TIE fighters.
"She'll get them out. We've got a job to do, Sis," Sabine reminded her as she got up from the co-pilot's seat as she also had her helmet over her head.
"Get us onto that Interdictor, now!" Satele ordered Chopper, who grunted a response as she grabbed her sister and placed it over her back as Sabine did the same with hers after she put the ship on autopilot before heading to the ship's deployment racks, where multiple Clan Wren Mandalorians were stationed including Tristan and Janus, who had jetpacks over their backs along with their helmets over their heads, which included macrobinocular viewplate's rangefinders and as the Kom'rk-class fighter approached the Interdictor, the deployment racks were lowered from the ship's cargo hold before they all jumped off of the racks and landed on the hull of the Interdictor.
"Ready your jetpacks and target those gravity well projectors," Sabine ordered as they began running across the hull of the Interdictor as they all pulled out their WESTAR-35s as the Brental Star flew past the Interdictor as it continued to be chased by TIE fighters.
"Governor, the enemy fighters have deployed a strike team onto the hull of our Interdictor!" An Imperial comms officer reported to Pryce from one of the Chimaera's crew pits as Kallus was now being guarded by two stormtroopers behind her.
"Well, repel them!" Pryce ordered, "We will not lose to this rabble!"
Satele, Sabine, Tristan and Janus along with their fellow Clan Wren Mandalorian warriors fired their WESTAR-35s at the Interdictor's gravity wells when suddenly Jumptroopers flew into the area.
"Incoming!" Satele shouted as she noticed the Jumptroopers and placed her WESTAR-35s back in their holsters as Sabine did the same with one of her WESTAR-35s as Satele grabbed both of her lightsabers from her armor's belt and ignited them as went into a reverse grip, while Sabine grabbed her lightsaber as well and ignited it as they began to use them to deflect the Jumptroopers' blaster bolts, "They've cut us off!"
"Governor, our rocket troopers are reporting that two of the female Mandalorians, Sabine Wren and her sister, Satele Wren are both wielding lightsabers and using the Force on them," an Imperial comm officer from one of the Chimaera's crew pits in the bridge reported to Pryce.
"Then it seems that like her sister, Sabine Wren has the ability to use the Force as well," Pryce ordered the Imperial comm officer, "I'll inform the Emperor of this development after we defeat the rebels. But tell them to increase their fire!"
"Right away," the Imperial comm officer replied.
"Leave this place," the Bendu ordered both the rebels and the Imperials, "I am the light… I am the dark… I am the Bendu!"
Electricity then struck one of the Death Troopers, knocking them backwards.
"You heard him! Make for the ship!" Kanan told Hera, Zeb, Cody, Rex, Lux, Dodonna, Kalani and AP-5 as they began running towards the Ghost, while Kalani began running towards his Sheathipede-class shuttle with a couple of B1 battle droids as Thrawn's Death Troopers began to fire their E-11D blaster carbines at the Bendu in the sky.
The Ghost's ramp raised up after everyone, except for Kalani boarded the VCX-100 light freighter with Hera and Kanan rushing into the cockpit with Hera sitting in the pilot's seat and Kanan sitting in the co-pilot's seat before the Ghost, Kalani's Sheathipede-class shuttles and the other rebel ships began to take off with lightning strikes going in between the ships.
"Kanan Jarrus… Jedi Knight!" The Bendu called out to Kanan before striking the Ghost's hull with lightning, but not enough to damage the VCX-100 light freighter as it descended down a little.
"This is your friend?!" Hera asked Kanan with disbelief.
"Uh… I might've made him angry," Kanan admitted.
"Yeah, I can relate!" Hera snapped at him before the Bendu struck an A-wing down with lightning before the rebels began to leave the planet in their ships.
"Leave this place," the Bendu ordered Thrawn and the Death Troopers.
"Concentrate fire on the center of the storm!" Thrawn ordered his troops as he pointed at the cloud that had the Bendu's glowing eyes embedded within. The AT-ATs began to fire upon the cloud as Thrawn ordered them to shoot at it with the one in the center getting destroyed as it was electrocuted by the lightning from the Bendu before the Death Troopers started to fire upon the Bendu with their E-11D blaster carbines and soon after they started to fire at the Bendu, the mysterious Force-wielder howled as he began to crash down from the sky in the distance like a meteor as the storm began to dissipate.
Sabine had her jetpack activated as she flew away from two Jumptroopers before she rotated around towards them and fired one of her WESTAR-35s at them, while she held her lightsaber in her other hand in case they fired their blaster rifles at her with them flying past Satele, who stood on the hull of the Interdictor below, deflecting blaster bolts with her lightsabers with Janus standing next to her as he fired his WESTAR-35s at one of the Jumptroopers before Satele activated her vambrace's grapple, pulling the other Jumptrooper towards her before slashing one of her sabers, the one with the blue blade across the chest of the Jumptrooper, cutting him in half and killing him instantly.
"Satele, we're headed for the blockade," Hera informed Satele from her helmet's comlink, "Is the Interdictor disabled yet?"
"Working on it!" Satele answered as she continued to deflect lasers back at two TIE fighters as they began to fly towards her and Janus before they ran backwards, avoiding the TIE fighters' laser cannons when suddenly they were shot down by one of the Fang fighters as one of the TIE fighters crashed onto the hull of the Interdictor in the distance as the gravity well next to them began to crack open.
Sabine turned around and fired one of her WESTAR-35s at the two Jumptroopers that were following her, killing them on contact as Satele watched what her sister did before turning around and deactivating her sabers and clipped them back onto her armor's belt as Sabine did the same with hers before Satele pulled out both of her WESTAR-35s, while Sabine pulled out her other WESTAR-35 as Satele began firing them at the gravity well that was cracking open alongside her sister, brother and b and their fellow Clan Wren Mandalorian warriors as they fired their jetpacks' rockets, causing an explosion as Satele and Janus activated their jetpacks and flew away before climbing back up the Kom'rk-class fighter's deployment rack with Sabine and Tristan.
"Chopper, get us outta here!" Satele called out to the astromech, who was piloting her ship before he grunted a response from the cockpit as the deployment rack retracted back into the ship as the Brental Star flew away from the Interdictor as the Imperial Star Destroyer belew up.
"Governor, we have a problem," an Imperial comm officer told Pryce from one of the Chimaera's crew pits.
"I don't want to hear it," Pryce snapped at him, "Just stop them. Nothing gets through!"
"Thrawn's not going to be happy with you making a mess of his fleet," Kallus said, taunting Pryce.
"Throw this traitor out the airlock," Pryce ordered the stormtroopers, guarding Kallus, who dragged him out of the bridge and one of the stormtroopers pushed him into a turbolift with the barrel of their E-11 blaster rifle before they entered the turbolift with him as Kallus smirked as the door to the turbolift sealed shut.
"Hera, we took out the Interdictor," Satele announced on the Ghost's communications system as Zeb sat behind Hera in the seat behind her as Lux sat next to him in the seat behind Kanan with R4-G6 standing in between him and Zeb, "You're all clear!"
"That's the first good news I've gotten today," Hera told her.
"Meet me at point 8-7. We'll lead the way," Satele added.
"Copy that," Hera replied as she began to pilot the Ghost around one of the Imperial Star Destroyers' hulls as she rotated around it before heading towards the Imperial blockade with the remaining rebel ships following her.
As the turbolift door on the Chimaera opened, it revealed Kallus, who had freed himself from his stuncuffs and subdued his stormtrooper guards as they were on the floor, unconscious inside of the turbolift before he quickly left the turbolift and took out stormtroopers, who tried to stop him as he went to the door to the room with the escape pods and opened it, he clicked a button on the side of an escape pod before it's hatch opened and walked inside of the escape pod and sat in it's seat as he closed the hatch of the escape pod and launched the pod from the Chimaera before stopping the escape pod from continuing to fly away as it left the Chimaera and began typing coordinates for the Ghost so they could pick him up.
"We've got an incoming transmission?" Hera said with confusion to Kanan, Lux and Zeb before the symbol of Fulcrum appeared on the holoprojector of the Ghost's cockpit before them.
"It's Kallus!" Zeb realized, "He's sending coordinates."
"So Thrawn and the other Imperials found out that he was Fulcrum and a turncoat," Lux stated.
"Seems so, Senator," Kanan said, agreeing with him, "That must be how Thrawn found our base on Atollon."
"There's an escape pod on my scope," Hera told them as she began to pilot the Ghost towards Kallus' escape pod with the escape pod latching onto the bottom of the cargo hold after the Ghost evaded TIE fighters that were chasing them, "Got him!" The TIE fighters continued to chase and fire upon them as the Ghost began to follow the Brental Star, "I'm on your six, Brental Star. Phoenix Squadron, Let's get outta here!"
"Roger, Phoenix Leader. We're right behind you," Wedge replied on the Ghost's communications system as soon Rex, Cody, Dodonna and Kallus entered the cockpit as the Ghost jumped into Hyperspace after Satele's Kom'rk-class fighter did the same before the other rebel ships followed them into Hyperspace as well.
"The remaining rebel ships have jumped to Hyperspace," an Imperial comms officer reported to Pryce, who wasn't happy from one of the Chimaera's crew pits on the Star Destroyer's bridge.
"What manner of creature are you?" Thrawn asked the Bendu as he and the Death Troopers approached the mysterious Force-wielder, who had crash landed at one of the spots that he hides at and was laying on his side as two of the Death Troopers aimed their E-11D blaster carbines at him.
"One beyond your power to destroy," the Bendu answered.
"It would not seem so," Thrawn said as he pulled his RK-3 blaster pistol out from his tunic's holster.
"You cannot see… But I can," the Bendu told him.
"What? What do you see?" Thrawn asked him.
"I see your defeat, like many arms surrounding you in a cold embrace," the Bendu answered, causing Thrawn to narrow his eyes in anger before firing his blaster pistol at him, only for the Bendu to vanish, surprising him as the Bendu laughed around them.
"I'm sorry for your losses," Ursa told Hera through the holocommunicator from the holotable in the Ghost's common room as Sabine, Satele, Tristan and Janus had their helmets removed as they stood around the holotable with Hera as Zeb stood nearby with his arms crossed as Kanan, who had his mask removed from his eyes entered the room as the Ghost and the other rebel ships were traveling through space as they have exited Hyperspace.
"We are just grateful for your aid in our time of need," Hera assured her.
"We want to return the favor, Hera," Sabine told the Twi'lek, "Our mother needs our help."
"Please let some of the Rebellion come with us," Satele pleaded with Hera, agreeing with her sister.
"Go. Kanan can go with you both, but I can't come with you two. I have to get our survivors to Rebel Command."
"I'll go and look out the nose gun, if anybody doesn't mind," Satele said as she began to leave the room.
"I'll go with you," Janus told her as he began to follow Satele.
"Satele, one more thing before you go," Ursa told Satele, calling out to her youngest daughter.
"What is it, Mother?" Satele asked her mother as she stopped and turned back around towards her.
"When you, Sabine, Tristan and your boyfriend return to Krownest, I'll be gifting you your own pair of Jaig eyes," Ursa answered, causing Satele to widen her eyes with shock and disbelief.
"Why would you grant me my own pair of Jaig eyes when me, Sabine, Tristan and Janus return to Krownest, Mother?" Satele asked her with confusion.
"Because of the extreme courage and exceptional valor that you risked to save your rebel friends," Ursa answered, causing Satele to smile.
"Thanks, Mother," Satele said, thanking her mother.
"No problem, Satele," Ursa told her youngest daughter as Satele and Janus left the common room as they headed for the ship's nose gun.
"Kanan," Kallus, who had his arms crossed called out to the Jedi Knight as he walked through the hallway that contained everyone's rooms as multiple rebel troopers stood in the hallway with one of them being treated by a medical droid as Kanan entered the hallway after Satele and Janus walked through the hallway as they headed for the ship's nose gun, "Thank you… For taking me in."
"Thank you for risking everything," Kanan replied as he placed his hand over the former ISB Agent's left shoulder before entering the cockpit, where Cody, Rex, AP-5 and Chopper were at with Rex sitting in the pilot's seat and Cody sitting in the co-pilot's seat with AP-5 sitting in the seat behind Rex as Chopper sat next to AP-5.
"I would suggest a second Hyperspace jump before heading to Yavin," AP-5 suggested.
"If we want to cover our tracks, we should make it three," Rex stated.
"I agree with you, Rex," Cody said, agreeing with his clone brother before Chopper grunted a response, agreeing with the clones as Kanan climbed down the ladder to the cargo hold, where multiple rebel troops were, leaning against the railing as he approached the door to the nose gun, which slid open as he listened to Satele and Janus' conversation from the nose gun.
"Janus, what are you going to do now that we've helped save the rest of Phoenix Squadron from being destroyed?" Satele asked Janus as they stared out at the view outside the Ghost.
"I've been thinking about joining you and Sabine here on the Ghost," Janus answered, causing Satele to turn to him with surprise.
"Really?" Satele asked him as she wasn't sure if he was serious or not.
"Really," he confirmed, "I don't just want to free Mandalore from Imperial control, I want to defeat the Empire as well and joining you, Sabine and the Ghost might accomplish that."
"I believe Hera would be glad to have you alongside us, Janus," Satele told her boyfriend.
"I think she will as well," he said, agreeing with her.
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, Janus," Satele told her boyfriend in Mando'a.
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum too, Satele," Janus said in Mando'a as well before they began to kiss each other passionately.
"All right, love birds," Kanan called out to them as he entered the nose gun, surprising both Mandalorians as they stopped kissing as they saw him as he approached them, "And can you both stop speaking in Mandalorian?"
"Hey, you did the same thing with Hera before we joined the wider rebellion and back when you still had your sight," Satele argued, causing Janus to laugh, "And Mando'a is sacred for us Mandalorians just like Beskar is."
"Well, you've got me there about the thing with Hera and the wider rebellion," Kanan told her, "You two could at least speak your native language in private."
"We thought we were speaking it in private," Janus said as he turned to him.
"Well, not private enough," Kanan told them, "And you both are correct about Hera, she would love to have you, Janus and your codename would be Specter-7."
"Thank you, Kanan," Janus told the blind Jedi Knight.
"Anyway, can I speak with Satele alone?" Kanan asked him.
"Sure, no problem," Janus replied.
"Also, one more thing, Janus," Kanan called out to Janus as the Mandalorian began to leave the room, causing Janus to stop and turn back around towards the blind Jedi Knight, "I knew someone else with the name Janus before from when I was a smuggler."
"Really? Who was that person?" Janus asked him.
"Their name was Janus Kasmir, a Kalleran from the planet of Kaller and met him shortly before the Republic became the Empire but soon joined his crew for a time before we parted ways," Kanan answered.
"Well, if you ask me, you seem better as a Jedi than a smuggler," Janus told him.
"Thanks," Kanan said, thanking him for the compliment.
"No problem," Janus told him as he left the nose gun and reentered the cargo hold before climbing back up the ladder, leaving Kanan and Satele alone.
"What is it that you wanted to speak to me alone for, Kanan?" Satele asked her master as he turned back to her.
"I wanted to talk about how you, your sister and boyfriend really saved the day," he answered.
"But, Kanan, we lost everything," she argued.
"I understand you feel defeated, but I've learned to see things differently," he told her, "There's a future for us, one where we're all free." This statement caused her to turn to him, "But it's up to us to make it happen." With that said, every single rebel ship jumped into Hyperspace.
