"Truly wonderful the mind of a child is…" The voice of Yoda said within the realm known as the World between Worlds when he spoke to Obi-Wan Kenobi about the planet Kamino, which had been removed from the records of the Jedi Archives a day or so ago before the start of the Clone Wars 22 years ago.
"What is this place?" The voice of Obi-Wan then asked someone when he, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka were trapped in the realm known as Mortis 20 years ago.
"A conduit through which the entire Force of the universe flows," the voice of Qui-Gon Jinn replied within the World between Worlds.
"Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter," the voice of Yoda then told someone three years in the future on the planet Dagobah.
"Just when you think you understand the Force, you find out how little you actually know," the voice of Ahsoka said when she spoke to Satele before they went to Malachor with Kanan and Sabine and when Senator Lux Bonteri joined the Rebellion after resigning from his post as the senator of Onderon within the Imperial Senate.
"Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose," the voice of Yoda told Anakin Skywalker days before the end of the Clone Wars, execution of Order 66, rise of the Empire and fall of the Republic, during the Siege of Mandalore and after the Battle of Coruscant and when he began having premonitions of his wife dying in childbirth.
"What you need, you already have. Unfortunately, you seem to be letting it all go," the voice of Obi-Wan said when Satele traveled to Tatooine to find him and met Cody, only to lead Maul to Obi-Wan, ending the former Sith Lord's life.
"I won't let her lose her way, not like I did, after all she has a sister and brother," the voice of Kanan told Yoda when he was talking to him through the Force in the Jedi temple on Lothal when Satele gained her first Kyber Crystal.
Just then, Satele was flown out of one of the portals in the realm of the World between Worlds as she grunted and panted before she stood back up after landing on her stomach and looked around the realm in amazement as she saw multiple portals and pathways throughout the realm known as the World between Worlds.
"The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things, it surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together," she heard the voice of Obi-Wan say to someone nine months in the future.
"Please sit," Hydan told Sabine as he turned around behind a desk in the excavation site's command center as DT-5555 and another Death Trooper pushed her towards the desk before pushing a chair towards her and placed her on the chair's seat as one of the Death Troopers handed Hydan a datapad, "Ah, of course. Sabine Wren. The Emperor told me about you as soon as I told him about your description when I contacted him after we captured you and the other Mandalorian rebel, Janus Wren." He then sat down in the chair that he was standing in front of at the desk as he poured caff into a cup from a kettle on the desk, "It's no wonder you and your sister took an interest in the painting from the temple. The Grand Admiral has spoken highly of you and your sister's work. You know he's acquired a small collection of you and your sister's work?"
"I'm flattered and Satele would be as well if she was here with us," Sabine scoffed with sarcasm as she crossed her arms.
"I would never consider myself an artist, but more a… A critic, perhaps," Hydan told her.
"That explains a lot," Sabine stated.
"I will admit that you, your twin sister and Janus swiftly solved something I could not. Now, tell me, how did you open the Portal?" He asked her as he poured more caff from the kettle and into his cup.
"I'm smarter than you," she replied.
"I have informed the Emperor that your sister entered the temple," Hydan told her after he chuckled for a second as he placed his cup of caff back on the desk after taking a sip of it, "He was rather impressed with your sister. It must be difficult for you and her now without your master." Sabine looked at him with anger as he said that, "Yes, Kanan Jarrus, or Caleb Dume… whichever. Such a pity he chose the path he did and fell to such a meaningless end."
"You think you're powerful, but you're just a pawn," Sabine told him, "Besides he wasn't my master anymore when he sacrificed himself at the fuel depot, as a few days before he Knighted me, making me a Jedi Knight."
"Oh, well, it's true," Hydan said, agreeing with her, "My power is but a reflection of the might of my Emperor."
"And yet, for all his might, he couldn't open the door, but Satele could," she added.
"Your sister is not safe beyond the veil," he told her as he stood up and walked up to her with the datapad in his hands, "The door is open. The Emperor will find her. It's only a matter of time now. But there is hope. You have an opportunity to help her, if you help me." He then clicked on the datapad, causing dozens of holographic images relating to the mural of the Mortis Gods and the Jedi temple on Lothal to appear around the room, "As an artist, I would think that you would relish the opportunity to study the temple. Do you even realize what it is?"
"That portal…" Sabine began to say as she examined one of the holographic images that looked similar to the one that Satele jumped through, "It's not just a way into the temple… it's a…"
"Pathway between all time and space," he finished for her, "They who controls it controls the universe."
Meanwhile in the barracks of the excavation site's command center, which had a training room within the barracks as Janus stood in the barracks as he had his arms behind his back with stuncuffs over his wrists as two Death Troopers were guarding him with one of them being DT-5999 as Jesse stood across from him with his helmet under his arm as he held a datapad in his other hand.
"Janus Wren, son of John and Avira Wren, age 20, born on the same day as when the Battle of Kamino took place, known Mandalorian Rebel, parents killed on the orders of Governor Gar Saxon at age 15, while they were 45," Jesse said as he walked up to Janus, reading the datapad that he held in his hands before handing the datapad to one of the Death Troopers as he unlocked Janus' stuncuffs, "You are probably wondering how I'm still alive."
"I am," Janus told him, confirming the clone's suspicions as they began walking through the barracks.
"During the crash of the Tribunal, I hopped in a Republic gunship just as it crashed into the moon and left the moon's surface but unbeknownst to me at the time, the gunship's Hyperdrive was damaged and took me about a year to get back to Coruscant, where I rejoined the Empire and soon afterwards I was promoted from ARC Lieutenant to ARC Commander," Jesse explained, "And soon as I rejoined the Empire, I met Lord Vader. And do you know who he is?"
"I know that he's the Emperor's right-hand man, a Sith Lord and that he fought my girlfriend and her sister along with their master on Malachor three years ago, while only Satele and their master only fought him here on Lothal four years ago," Janus answered.
"Do you know who Anakin Skywalker was?" Jesse asked him.
"From the stories of the Clone Wars, he was the Republic's best Jedi General and was called the Poster boy of the Republic," Janus answered, "Why are you bringing him up?"
"Because Anakin Skywalker and Vader are both one and the same," Jesse explained.
"No, Anakin and Vader can't both be the one and the same," Janus gasped in shock and disbelief, "Anakin was nice and kind and Vader is ruthless and evil."
"They are one and the same," Jesse told him, assuring the Mandalorian that what he said was true.
"How are they one and the same?" Janus said with confusion in his voice.
"What do you know about Padmé Amidala?" Jesse asked the Mandalorian.
"Wasn't she the senator of Naboo during the Clone Wars?" Janus answered.
"She indeed was," Jesse said, confirming Janus' suspicions, "She was the secret wife of Anakin Skywalker and the reason why he fell to the dark side is because he tried to stop her from dying in childbirth, only for her to die in childbirth anyways."
"Anyway, why did you want to speak with me?" Janus asked the clone.
"I just wanted to see who's training is superior, the one that I received from Kamino or the one that you received from your parents when you were a kid," Jesse answered.
"I'll most likely beat you as we Mandalorians are better warriors than you clones are as soldiers as we're trained since we're children," Janus told the clone.
"Now, let us begin," Jesse told the Mandalorian as they walked into the barrack's training room before he placed his helmet on the floor as they both stood across from each other and went into fighting stances.
Both Janus and Jesse narrowed their eyes as they stared at each other before they began rushing towards each other as Janus tried to kick the clone, only for Jesse to evade the Mandalorian's attack before he punched Janus in the left cheek, knocking him to the floor.
"Well?" Zeb asked Hera as she used the pair of macrobinoculars as she looked over a stormtrooper that was guarding the excavation site's command center with the pair of macrobinoculars as he held his bo-rifle with both of his hands.
"They took Sabine and Janus into one of the buildings on the far side of the site on opposite sides of the building," she reported as she removed the pair of macrobinoculars from her eyes.
"Get down!" Zeb ordered as he heard a gunship fly by and leaned down as the gunship flew past them without noticing them before Hera began to leave the hiding spot that they along with Chopper were hiding at and spying on the Imperial excavation site from before Zeb and Chopper turned to her, "What about Satele? Did she get inside the temple?"
"Honestly, Zeb, I don't know where she is, and I doubt that she does either," Hera answered before she continued to walk away from the hiding spot where they were spying on the Imperial excavation site from before Zeb and Chopper began to follow her away from the area where they were spying on the excavation site from.
"Hello?" Satele said, calling out to the voices as she continued to hear them as she wandered around the realm she was in, passing by portals on her side.
"Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force," Satele heard Yoda's voice say when he spoke to Anakin Skywalker about losing his wife in childbirth.
"Master Yoda? Obi-Wan? Where are you?" She asked herself as she called out to the voices.
"I'm one with the Force, the Force is with me," she then heard one of the Guardian of the wills' warrior-monks, Chirrut Îmwe say nine months in the future on the planet Scarif.
"Those voices…" Satele began to say as she continued to hear the voices within the World between Worlds.
"The time to fight is now!" She then heard Jyn Erso, daughter of Galen Erso, say nine months in the future on Yavin IV.
"Where are they coming from?" Satele asked herself.
"I won't lose you, Padmé," she then heard the voice of Anakin Skywalker tell his wife when he began having premonitions of her death in childbirth.
"It is his nature," she then heard the voice of the Daughter, the young female of the Mortis Gods say when Obi-Wan, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka were trapped on Mortis 20 years ago.
"Strong in the Force, you are," she then heard the voice of Yoda say to someone on Dagobah three years in the future.
"This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope," she then heard the voice of Leia say nine months in the future.
"The shadow of greed that is. Let go of everything you fear to lose," she then heard the voice of Yoda tell Anakin Skywalker when he was having premonitions of his wife dying in childbirth.
"He's my brother," she then heard Leia tell someone on the forest moon of Endor four years in the future.
"My fellow Mandalorians, as you know, they say the Force can do terrible things to your mind," she then heard the voice of Canderous Ordo, Manda'lor the preserver say over 3,900 years in the past soon after he became Mand'lor and began reuniting the Mandalorian clans after they were scattered from the aftermath of the Mandalorian Wars.
"Manda'lor the Preserver," Satele said as she recognized the voice of Canderous Ordo.
"Let's blow this thing and go home," she then heard the familiar voice of Han Solo say nine months in the future.
"Han," Satele muttered as she heard a convor hooting at her from above.
"You never would have made it as Obi-Wan's Padawan, but you might make it as mine," she then heard the voice of Anakin Skywalker say to Ahsoka right after the Battle of Christophsis 22 years ago.
"Luke, I love you," she then heard the voice of Sabine tell the son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, Luke Skywalker one year in the future.
"So, Sabine will finally have a boyfriend of her own in the future," Satele muttered to herself.
"I am a Jedi, like my father before me," she then heard the future Jedi, Luke Skywalker say to Palpatine, four years in the future above the Forest moon of Endor as she walked over to a portal as she saw the convor that was always with Ahsoka, standing on top of the portal.
"Hey. I've seen you before. Yeah, whenever Ahsoka was around, you were always close by," Satele told the convor as she approached it and the portal as it stood on top of the portal, "How did you get here?" The convor hooted a response before hopping in the air for a split second, "Can you help me? I was sent here, but I'm not sure why." The convor then hooted another response as the portal rumbled to life as it turned red, "What is this? What are you showing me?"
Her question was answered once she saw Ahsoka and Vader standing in the room of the Sith temple on Malachor where the obelisk was within the portal as the Sith Lord ignited his saber and heard his mechanical breathing.
"No," she muttered as she heard her past self yelling Ahsoka's name, "It can't be." She then saw Ahsoka use the Force to push her past self out from the room in the Sith temple on Malachor that contained the obelisk with her right arm as the wall closed shut before she ignited both of her white lightsabers and locked both hers and Vader's sabers from behind as she placed them over the back of her head and her lekkus as Satele heard her past self yelling the word, 'no.'
Ahsoka then turned around as she locked one of her sabers with Vader's again before locking her other saber with his as well and evaded his saber's strikes and deactivated both of her sabers as he went to strike at her before she reignited her sabers and held them in a reverse grip as Satele watched as Ahsoka grunted before she locked both of her sabers with Vader's saber as he approached her as he began striking at her sabers with fury as the convor hopped upwards and squarked, urging Satele to enter the temple and save Ahsoka.
"What? What can I do?" Satele asked the convor as Ahsoka continued to lock her sabers with Vader's saber with her straining the weight of Vader's strength, causing Satele to widen her eyes in shock as she knew that if she doesn't go in and pull her out, Ahsoka will die.
As the Malachor superweapon began to implode with its power becoming unstable, Ahsoka used the Force to push Vader away from her a bit before stabbing both of her lightsabers into the floor, causing it to start to crack open as Vader went to strike her down.
"Ahsoka!" Satele cried as she went into the portal and pulled Ahsoka out of the temple as the floor beneath Vader collapsed as he fell through the floor with both Satele and Ahsoka falling unconscious as they left the portal and entered the World between Worlds.
"I discovered these images while going through the Jedi temple archive on Coruscant," Hydan told Sabine as he stared at a painting with the figures of the Mortis Gods and was painted gold.
"Still not interested," Sabine remarked, sarcastically as she sat in her seat.
"I doubt that," Hydan told her as he clicked on his datapad, causing the image to switch to the same one as the mural outside and around the excavation site, "Now, these three figures appear throughout the Jedi's recorded history."
"Mmm-hmm. They're archetypes," she stated.
"Yes, precisely," Hydan said, agreeing with her as he turned back around towards her, "They're sometimes referred to as the Father, Son and Daughter. Now do you notice anything about their depiction on the Lothal temple?"
"I don't know. They look the same to me," she answered.
"I am no fool, Lady Wren, so do not mistake my pleasant demeanor for weakness," he told her, "The painting has changed."
"You noticed that, huh?" She asked him.
"Yes," he confirmed as she began to get up, "The Loth-Wolves have moved. In fact, they now form the portal. I also find it interesting that the position of the Daughter's head and the hand of the Father has changed. Do you care to share what their significance is?"
"The… The hands are a language," she explained as she walked up to him as Death Troopers walked through the holographic paintings behind her.
"I could find no similarity between it and any known language," he told her with confusion in his voice, "How is it you can read it?"
"Remember? I'm smarter than you," she said, mocking him.
"Lady Wren, I had hoped we could have a civil conversation about art, but I see the Mandalorian and Jedi in you understands only one form of discourse," Hydan stated before one of the Death Troopers hit her in the head with the butt of their E-11D carbine rifle, knocking her to the floor with her looking up at them as both Death Troopers aimed their E-11D blaster carbines at her, "Now, where were we?"
The convor hooted again as Satele regained consciousness and stared at it as it hooted at her to look to her side before she did just that as she saw Ahsoka moving around next to her as she also regained consciousness as she sat up.
"Ahsoka?" Satele said, calling out to the Togruta as she saw her getting up.
"Satele?" Ahsoka said as she turned around towards her and saw that she looked about three years older than when she last saw her when she was fighting Vader moments before on Malachor and that her hair had been dyed to navy blue with yellow tips compared to when she last saw her moments ago on Malachor when she had her hair dyed to blue with yellow tips, "You look…" Satele then stood back up, "Wait, where am I? And where's Kanan, Sabine and RG?"
"You've missed a lot, Ahsoka. Kanan sacrificed himself for me, Sabine and Hera a few days ago," Satele answered, causing the Togruta to gasp and look at her in shock and with a bit of sadness in her eyes, "Sabine's still alive, she's just not with me right now and we gave RG to Lux in your honor after we thought you died on Malachor."
Ahsoka then looked at her with surprise in her eyes before sighing in relief, "Thanks for doing that for him, Satele."
"No problem, Ahsoka," Satele told her, "But, I'm no longer a Padawan, I'm a Jedi Knight now."
"Congratulations, Satele," Ahsoka said, congratulating the Mandalorian Jedi Knight, "Anyway, what happened?"
"You were fighting Vader," Satele answered as Ahsoka began to look around the World between Worlds.
"Obi-Wan once thought as you did…" They then heard Vader say five years in the future on the Forest moon of Endor to his son, Luke Skywalker.
"I saw you in there. He was going to… So I… I grabbed you, and I pulled you out of there," Satele went on as she gestured to the portal that she pulled Ahsoka out from.
"You don't know the power of the dark side…" They heard Vader tell his son as well.
"Anakin," Ahsoka muttered, causing Satele to realize who Vader actually was, Ahsoka's Jedi master before hearing the convor hoot and looked up at it, "Moari? You're here?"
"Moari?" Satele repeated in confusion as the convor flew from the top of the portal and towards Ahsoka as the Togruta moved her right arm upwards as Moari landed on her right arm.
"I am the Daughter…" They heard the voice of the Daughter say when Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker met her on Mortis 22 years ago.
"She's an old friend," Ahsoka explained as she began petting Moari on the chin, "I owe her my life. And now I owe you that as well. How did you get here?"
"That's a long story," Satele answered.
"Okay, Hera what're you thinkin'?" Zeb asked Hera as he stood behind her at the wall of one of the command centers with Chopper.
"These are mobile command centers, right?" Hera asked him.
"Yeah? Oh…" he said, chuckling as he realized what she was thinking, "I like where this is going." He then turned to Chopper, "Chop, you keep an eye out for Satele." Chopper then grunted a response as he pulled his left metal arm out for a second before placing his metal arm back inside his dome as he rolled away from them.
"Okay. Let's move," Hera said as you ran behind the command center as Chopper hid behind a container as he watched as a mobile command center rolled by in the distance.
"This place is ancient. Like a world between worlds," Ahsoka stated as she and Satele walked through the World between Worlds as Moari was still on her right arm.
"Yeah," Satele said, agreeing with the Togruta, "It feels like when me and my boyfriend, Janus met the Force Ghosts of my Jedi ancestors of Tarre Vizsla, Revan, Bastila and Satele Shan along with a Loth-Wolf manifestation of Kanan named Dume."
"The manifestation of Kanan appeared after he died?" Ahsoka asked her, "That has to be more than a coincidence?"
"It is, the Force Ghost of Satele Shan explained that he was manifested through the Force," Satele answered.
"Well, that makes sense as Kanan is part of the cosmic Force now. There are ways those who have passed on may still guide or influence the living," Ahsoka told her as she stared at a constellation within the realm that looked like a Loth-Wolf before turning back around towards her, "It's not impossible."
"If it was my Jedi ancestors and Kanan who sent me here, then…" Satele began to say.
"What is it?" Ahsoka asked the Mandalorian Jedi Knight.
"I thought I was sent here to stop the Empire, but then I found you," Satele explained, "Don't you see?"
"You think your Jedi ancestors and Kanan sent you here to help me?" Ahsoka answered.
"Not just you!" Satele told her.
"Want a ride?" They heard Kanan say back when he and Satele first met on Lothal five years ago.
"I… I can do it! I can save Kanan just like I saved you, so I don't have to wait for him to complete his training to retain his consciousness after death to see him again!" Satele told her.
"Satele…" Ahsoka said, trying to stop the Mandalorian from doing something that she'd regret.
"Satele, would you want me to train you in the ways of the Force?" They heard the voice of Kanan say when she, Kanan, Hera and Sabine found out that she was Force-Sensitive after she unconsciously used the Force to open his holocron on the same day that he, Hera, Zeb and Chopper met her on Lothal before they went to Kessel to save the Wookies from being enslaved on the spice mines of Kessel before she ran forward as she began to follow where Kanan's voice was coming from.
"Satele, wait!" Ahsoka said, calling out to Satele as Morai flew off of her right arm, hooting as Ahsoka began to chase after Satele.
"I'm about to let everyone know," they heard Kanan say when he revealed himself to be a Jedi to Zeb, the Wookiees as well as the Imperials including Kallus, who was still an ISB agent at the time when he and the other rebels rescued the Wookiees from being slaves on Kessel.
"I survived one war. I'm not ready for another," they heard Kanan say, two months after after Satele and the rest of the Ghost crew except for Janus as he wasn't part of their crew at the time rescued Kanan from Tarkin's Star Destroyer, the Sovereign when he and Hera spoke in the corridors of Sato's command ship, Phoenix Home and before along with the rest of the Ghost crew went to Lothal to help Minister Tua defect from the Empire before the Empire had her assassinated and framed the rebels for her assassination.
"Battles leave scars… Some you can't see," they heard Kanan say when he, Satele, Zeb and Rex were stuck on Agamar to play a 'war game' with Kalani and his Separatist battle droids before they joined the Rebellion.
"This way!" Satele called out to Ahsoka as she ran down one of the pathways as she followed the voices of Kanan before she soon stopped near a portal behind her, "One of these portals must lead to Kanan."
"Satele, think about what you're doing," Ahsoka said, pleading with the Mandalorian to not attempt to save Kanan.
"I know what I'm doing!" Satele told her, "Here, in this place, I can change things. I can stop Kanan from dying."
"You don't know that," Ahsoka argued.
"Yes, I do," Satele stated as she turned back arounds towards her, "If I can change your fate, I can change his." The portal behind her then rumbled to life as she said that before they began walking towards it as a projection of Kanan holding back the fire from the central fuel pod in the fuel depot on Lothal that was expanding out towards him when he sacrificed himself, "I can reach him."
"Satele, Kanan gave his life so you, Hera and your sister could live. If he is taken out of this moment, you all die," Ahsoka told her.
"You don't understand what you're asking me to do," Satele stated.
"Yes, I do," Ahsoka assured her, "You can't save your master and I can't save mine. Remember, you're a Jedi Knight now, so I'm asking you to let go." Satele then extended her right hand out towards the portal as she saw Kanan using the Force to push her past self, Hera and Sabine away from the central fuel pod and fuel depot on Lothal in the Imperial patrol transport.
"Kanan!" They heard Hera yell from inside of the portal as Kanan was consumed by the fire with Satele closing her eyes as the events of Kanan's death disappeared from the portal as she turned away from the portal.
"I'm sorry, Satele, but you must see. Kanan found the moment when he was needed most, and he did what he had to do, for everyone," Ahsoka explained to her as Satele walked past her and away from the portal.
"That's the lesson," Satele said as Ahsoka walked up to her, "I didn't see it, but now…" She then sighed as Ahsoka placed her left hand over Satele's right shoulder, "Sometimes I wish my life were different. I wish me and Sabine weren't Force-Sensitive and be like most Mandalorians and I also wish that Mandalore space wasn't under Imperial control. Why can't things be like they were?"
"We can't stay here," Ahsoka told her when they suddenly heard a cracking and rubbing sound from the portal behind them, "You opened the door to this world. Do you know how to close it?"
"Sabine will know," Satele answered, "We can do it together. They'll be so happy to see you."
"I can't go with you," Ahsoka told her with regret in her voice.
"Perhaps I can," they suddenly heard the voice of Palpatine say and turned around to see Palpatine standing inside of the portal and behind a cauldron, using Sith alchemy on the cauldron, "Satele Wren and Ahsoka Tano… Mine at last! And I will soon have both you and your sister, Satele, and convert the two of you into Inquisitors." He then crackled a laugh.
"Darth Sidious," Satele muttered to herself.
"Come on. Hurry," Zeb urged Hera as she was underneath the excavation site's command center, tinkering with it.
"Almost got it," Hera told him, "Get ready to send Sabine and Janus a signal."
"I'll tap it out right before blastoff," Zeb assured her before walking away from her.
Meanwhile back inside of the barracks of the excavation site's command center, Janus and Jesse ran back towards one another and as the clone tried to land some hits on the Mandalorian as Janus evaded Jesse's hits.
Janus then began to knee the clone in the stomach a few times, causing the clone to fall on his stomach, panting as he looked up at him when the command center began to shake before he stood back up and grabbed his helmet before placing it back over his head.
"You may have won this time, Mandalorian, but the next time we meet you won't be so lucky," Jesse told the Mandalorian as he ran out of the barracks of the excavation site's command center with the Death Troopers running out of the barracks to evacuate as well.
"You wouldn't be part of the Empire if you had your inhibitor chip removed," Janus muttered to himself as he also left the barracks of the excavation site's command center.
"The Father is clearly showing the way to the portal. The wolves are the portal's guardians," Hydan told Sabine as they stared at one of the holographic paints of the Mortis Gods as Sabine had her arms crossed.
"Okay. What about the owl?" Sabine asked him as she walked towards the holographic painting of the Mortis Gods and gestured to the Convor on the Daughter's right shoulder before crossing her arms again.
"A servant of the Daughter, or possibly the Daughter herself when acting as a spirit guide," Hydan answered.
"Hmm. So if the Daughter opens the gateway…" Sabine began to say.
"The Son would close it," Hydan stated.
"Oh. There's something I didn't know," Sabine admitted.
"Yeah, see? We can help each other," Hydan told her when a stormtrooper suddenly entered the room.
"Minister, there's something happening to the portal," the stormtrooper reported to Hydan as Hydan placed both of his arms behind his back before they suddenly heard pounding sounds around the metallic surface of the excavation site's command center as the stormtrooper and the two Death Troopers had a confused look on their faces.
"A-ha! I know that language too. Sorry about the mess," Sabine told Hydan as she lowered her arms and placed her right hand underneath the left side of her face before the command center began to shake again as it lifted upwards, causing the stormtrooper standing at the entrance of the command center's entrance to fall off on their back.
Palpatine spoke in an ancient Sith language as he gestured his hands around the top of the cauldron with blue flames coming out from the cauldron before using the Force to extend the flames out of the portal and towards Satele and Ahsoka as Ahsoka extended both of her arms outwards to push back the flames.
"I can't hold it!" Ahsoka said with her voice straining as she had trouble pushing the flames back before Satele extended her left arm, pushing the flames back as they retreated back into the portal.
"Are you all right?" Satele asked Ahsoka as she stood next to her as she collapsed onto her left leg before Palpatine crackled another laugh.
"Run!" Ahsoka ordered as she got back up on her feet and as she said that both the Mandalorian and Togrta began to run away from the portal as Palpatine extended his right arm through the portal, growling and yelling as the same blue flames from before came out of the portal again.
Sabine slid across the floor of the main room of the command center as it continued to rise upwards and jumped into a room through a doorway before Janus entered the room as he slid across the floor as well and jumped into the same room and doorway that Sabine jumped through, which was then blocked as objects fell towards the doorway.
"Glad to see that you escaped that clone, Janus," Sabine told Janus as she noticed him sliding across the floor next to her.
"I didn't exactly escape, Sabine, but it was Jesse, who escaped instead as the command center that we're currently inside of began to shake when we were fighting to see if our Mandalorian or his clone training was superior inside of the command center's barracks," Janus said, correcting his girlfriend's sister, "I can explain everything that happened with me and Jesse later."
"Agreed, we can discuss about what happened with you and Jesse when we get back to base," Sabine replied before grabbing her lightsaber from one of the bags of the scout trooper armor that she was wearing over her undersuit as Janus pulled out his scout trooper's blaster pistol at a Death Trooper as they slid past the elite Imperial trooper as they landed and rolled outside of the command center as the stormtroopers stationed outside aimed their E-11 blaster rifles at them before Sabine stood back up and ignited her lightsaber's blue blade as she swung it around for a second before entering the lightsaber combat stance known as Ataru before one of them was punched in the helmet by Zeb as he and Hera ran over to her before they saw Jesse riding an Imperial 614-AvA speeder bike out of the excavation site as Zeb grabbed his bo-rifle and began to fire at him with his bo-rifle, only to miss the clone and his speeder bike as he left the excavation site of the Jedi temple.
"What was a clone doing here?" Zeb asked with confusion in his voice as Sabine deactivated her lightsaber.
"He was an Imperial clone, Zeb, and was one of the people who was overseeing the Imperial operation here," Janus answered, causing Zeb's facial expression to change to one of shock.
"Anyway, you both good?" Hera asked both Mandalorians.
"I'm good, Hera," Janus answered as Hera helped him back onto his feet.
"Yeah, I'm good as well," Sabine said, agreeing with Janus, "We gotta get to the temple painting."
"What about Satele?" Hera asked as she, Zeb and Janus began firing their blasters at stormtroopers, while Sabine reignited her lightsaber's blade and began using it to deflect the stormtroopers' blaster bolts as they began to fire their E-11 blaster rifles.
"She's on her way," Sabine answered as the command center began to fall down towards them and crashed onto the ground as they evaded the command center.
"Ahsoka!" Satele called out to Ahsoka as the blue flames latched onto her right ankle, causing her to fall onto the ground of the pathway within the World between Worlds that they were running across to escape from Palpatine on.
"Show me the way, Satele. Help me," Palpatine ordered the Mandalorian as he began pulling her towards him with his blue flames.
"Ahh! He's coming through!" Satele cried as she continued to get pulled towards the portal as Ahsoka grabbed both of her lightsabers from her hips and ignited their white blades and slashed them across the blue flame that was latched onto Satele's right ankle, cutting Palpatine's connection to the realm.
"Keep going! You can make it!" Ahsoka assured Satele as they continued to run away from Palpatine's blue flames.
"When you get back, come and find me and Sabine!" Satele told her.
"I will. I promise," Ahsoka assured her as they went in separate directions that led to two different portals and Ahsoka soon jumped through the portal back to Malachor with Moari following her as the Convor flew through the portal as they left the World between Worlds.
As soon as Ahsoka jumped through the portal and Moari flew through it, they found themselves back on Malchor, but near the Sith temple instead of where she was when she was fighting Vader as the Togruta laid on the ground before Moari hooted and flew away as she stood up and placed her right hand over her upper left arm.
"May the Force be with you, Satele Wren," Ahsoka said as she began walking towards an entrance to the Sith temple.
Meanwhile back inside of the World between Worlds, Satele continued to evade Palpatine's blue flames as she saw the portal that she entered the World between Worlds from on Lothal and began running towards the portal.
"No!" Palpatine yelled with anger as Satele ran back through the portal that leads back to the Jedi temple on Lothal.
Satele rolled onto her knees after landing on her back as she exited the portal with Sabine, Hera and Zeb rushing towards her as stormtroopers were firing their E-11 blaster rifles at her with Janus firing his scout trooper's blaster pistol back at them.
"Satele!" Janus called out to his girlfriend as he noticed her on her knees in the distance behind him with Sabine, Hera and Zeb standing around her before he began running towards her as he stopped firing his scout trooper's blaster pistol at the stormtroopers.
"Sis!" Sabine said, calling out to her sister as she went to help her up, "Come on, come on! Get up! We're leaving."
"No! We have to seal the portal," Satele protested as Hera and Janus fired a few blaster bolts at the stormtroopers around them with her blaster pistol and his scout trooper's blaster pistol, "Come on."
Hera and Janus continued to fire their blaster pistols at the stormtroopers surrounding them with Zeb firing his bo-rifle at the stormtroopers as well, while Sabine used her lightsaber to deflect the stormtroopers' blaster bolts as they ran away from the portal and back towards the mural.
"Look out!" One of the stormtroopers exclaimed as he noticed a Mining Guild driller coming towards them as Chopper grunted from the driller as he piloted it with both of his metal arms as the stormtroopers began running away from the driller, fearing for their lives as Chopper continued to grunt.
"Chopper's got 'em," Zeb said as he laughed, "Let's move."
"Sis, which one do I activate?" Satele asked her sister.
"The Son. That one," Sabine answered, pointing at the image of the Son on the mural before Satele turned to Zeb as he placed his bo-rifle back over his back and nodded as he picked her up as she stood on top of her shoulders and clenched her left hand into a fist and closed her eyes as she placed her fist onto the fist of the Son.
"Stop her!" Hydan ordered as he saw what Satele was doing as the circles and lines around the mural soon began to shine red.
"The future, by its nature, can be changed," they heard the voice of the Son say from the mural as his eyes shined red as Satele began to feel sleepy as she fell off of Zeb's shoulders before he caught her with his arms before the mural changed back to it original position for a second before the Son moved his fist over his chest as he, the Father and Daughter descended downwards before placing her back on the ground as the excavation site began to collapse as Hera, Janus, Zeb, Sabine and Satele climbed into the driller as Sabine used her lightsaber to deflect blaster bolts at the stormtroopers as they continued to fire their E-11 blaster rifles at them.
"Chopper, get us out of here!" Hera ordered her astromech as Zeb climbed up the driver's ladder from where she was standing.
"The temple, its collapsing!" Hydan yelled as he walked towards the mural with the Loth-Wolves on the mural running back towards the Mortis Gods as the Father moved his hands towards both sides of him before he slammed them against one another, causing a bright light to appear from him, "What have they done? The knowledge… Everything will be lost! No!"
Satele had trouble staying awake as Hera held her in her arms as the driller fled away from the mural as Hydan fell down a chasm that just formed around him.
"It's gonna be close!" Hera announced as she and Zeb entered the driller with Sabine and Janus as Hera placed Satele on a seat inside the driller with Janus standing next to his girlfriend as the driller rolled away on the steep slopes of the excavation site.
"The Force will be with you, always," Satele and Sabine heard Kanan say in their minds as Satele drifted off to sleep.
"If this is what you two and Kanan used to do on your Jedi missions, you both can keep it," Zeb told Satele and Sabine as she sat next to her sister and across from where Janus was standing with Zeb standing across from them after Chopper grunted at her.
"Where's Hera?" Satele asked them.
"She's waiting for us outside," Sabine answered, "Sis, you gotta see."
"All right, then, let's go see Hera," Satele said as they got up and began to leave the driller as Satele looked at Janus for a second as he smiled at her as Satele and Sabine climbed down the ladder out of the driller and walked towards Hera, who was standing in the distance as they saw that they were in the middle of grasslands with her right arm crossed and her left hand over her right arm's shoulder, "Where are we?"
"The temple," Hera answered.
"Hera's right, Sis, we're at all that remains of the Jedi temple," Sabine said, confirming what Hera told Satele.
"What? Where?" Satele asked them as she looked at the ground in front of them, "I mean, how?"
"You both tell me," Hera told them.
"Kanan and I stood here, when we first came to the temple," Satele informed Hera as she realized that the Jedi temple looked like how it did when she and Kanan came to the temple the first time but without the large Lothalian mound-like structure in the middle.
"It also looks like how it did when we along with Kanan and Ahsoka came here to find a way to defeat the Inquisitors," Sabine said, recalling the time when she came to the Jedi temple, three years ago.
"He's gone now, isn't he, Satele?" Hera asked Satele as she lowered her arms, "I mean, really gone."
"Yes," Satele confirmed, "I know what we have to do now. In a way, Kanan showed me. One last lesson." Hera and Sabine then began walking away from her and back towards the driller as Hera placed her left hand over Satele's left shoulder for a second as they walked past her and Satele went to follow them before turning around and saw the white Loth-wolf standing in the distance before walking away, "Goodbye Kanan, till you complete your training to retain your consciousness after death."
