AN: I do not own Twilight. I do own a copy of Circe. It was rec'd by a dear friend who has never steered me wrong w/ books. Thanks, Ohio : )

I noticed her car sitting in the driveway as I parked next to it.

"Fuck," I muttered as I ran a shaky hand over my face.

I was not ready to face her, yet in true Angela fashion, here she was.

You can't fix this.

Aro's words echoed around me as I slowly got out of the car and walked in.

Now is your chance to move forward and place this chapter behind you for once and for all. Finally, finally, you have a good woman who's willing to build a life with you and a bright future. Isn't that enough?

Aro wasn't wrong.

It should have been enough.

I closed the front door behind me to find her sleeping on the couch. Her dark hair was pulled back in a braid to keep it from tangling, and a sleepy grin graced her face as I watched her.

She could be enough, yet somehow she wasn't.

"Edward?" Angela murmured, slowly awakening as I tried to escape her.

I watched as she grabbed her glasses and adjusted herself to sitting to face me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, then grimaced as I watched the smile fade off her pretty face.

"I..uh…I was waiting on you," she said, then cleared her throat before adjusting herself to a more formal sitting position.

"Where were you last night?" she asked me as I watched her look down at the ring I had placed on her finger.

"I was with Bella," I admitted boldly, then watched a frown filter over her face before she looked back up at me with a forced smile.

"I hope that means she signed the divorce papers," she said with a forced brightness that hurt my ears.

"No," I whispered to her, then watched her smile fade once more.

"I finally signed them."

"Edward…" she began in a confused whisper that grew a hard edge.

"You said that it was her..."

"No, it was me, Angela," I stated sternly as she muttered her disbelief as she shook her head.

"It was always me," I continued as she looked away from me as I sat down on the coffee table in front of her.

"Carlisle said," she whispered with a teary sound in her voice that hurt to hear.

"Dad lies. That's what he does," I shrugged as I interrupted her in a calm voice that instantly caused her whole body to stiffen in response.

"Is that where you got it from?" she chuckled humorlessly as she turned back to face me. Her dark eyes were glassy with unshed tears.

"Ange…" I began slowly, uncertain as to what to say.

"Did you fuck her?" she hissed in anger as she glared at me.

"Ange…"

"Did you?" she screamed at me as I looked away from her.

There were many times that I had fucked Bella, but last night wasn't one of them.

Last night I got to love her as I should have over the previous seven years, and I don't regret that.

"You did, you fucking bastard," she laughed hysterically as she stood up to move away from me.

"How could…" she began, only for me to interrupt her.

"I think with everything that has gone on between us that we need to cancel the wedding," I calmly stated, causing her to stop her pacing and turn to face me.

"You want me to tell my family… my family that traveled to see us marry the night before it's to happen that it's over?" she practically screamed at me as I nodded.

"Can you think of a better time?" I asked, not bothering to hide my irritation as she shook with anger before me.

"You want to embarrass me… again? As if fucking your whore wasn't enough?' she growled at me with rage in her eyes.

"Don't," I warned her darkly.

"Don't what? Tell you the truth? Remind you that you were fucking someone who didn't care you were engaged so…."

"Angela, it was me that made you a promise, not Bella. It was me," I reminded her as she laughed out loud once more.

"It was me that pursued Bella. It was me that wouldn't let her go. It was me that didn't care that I was supposed to be faithful to you. It all was me, ok?" I reminded her as she slipped her shoes on and grabbed her purse.

"You know what, Edward?" she said with a loud laugh as she turned to face me once more.

"You can go fuck yourself," she screamed at me as I nodded in agreement before watching her walk out, slamming the door behind her.
