"That's how you calculate the distance of a wave," The teacher explains as she finishes the calculations on the board. She places down the chalk as Acid scribbles down the last of the information. His pencil in his mouth as he has to keep looking up to see what to write down before going back to writing. The bell rings, causing the students to erupt into talking as a wave of ponies start to leave the classroom.

"Remember to read chapter 9 for next class!" The teacher says as the students start to leave. One unicorn mare bumps into Acid's desk, causing him to lose his grip on his pencil and dropping it on the ground. He stands up and crouches down to grab it with his mouth. But before he can get to it, the mare kicks it away from him. He looks up to see a wicked grin on the blue unicorn's face.

"I don't understand how somepony without magic can get into a school of such high status," She mocks as she walks away. Acid's ears flop down against his head as he starts putting his stuff away. The teacher takes notes, and before the mare can leave the room, the teacher yells for her.

"Velvet Star! See me later in the principal's office!" The teacher yells at her. The mare's ears drop against her head as her eyes go wide. Her movement stopped right at the door to leave. She gulps down air before walking away. The teacher stands up and walks over to Acid, who is now picking up the pencil and placing it into his saddle bag.

"You ok Acid?" The teacher asks softly as she helps put his bag onto his back.

"No," Acid bluntly states, looking down at the ground in shame. The teacher sits down and pats the ground next to her. He walks over to her and sits down next to her.

"You want to talk about it?" The teacher asks.

"A-and that's when the teacher talked to me about getting help," Acid says, throwing floods of tears cascading down his cheeks. Glass has an arm around Acid's back while she gently and carefully strokes his spiky hair. Acid's head resting against her chest. Avi in the kitchen cooking dinner as Film stands in the hallway, listening into the conversation.

His ears flopped against his head. His eyes looking down at the ground with a frown on his face. Tears formed in his own eyes. The past few weeks have gotten much worse for his brother. Being moved to a new school is one thing, but one where magic was almost needed to get in was another thing. The bullying had escalated at a multiple of two.

Film grits his teeth before angrily walking down the hallway. "Those dam stuffy, stuck up, donkeys of unicorns!" Film thinks in anger as he walks into their room. "Just because he can't do magic doesn't make him stuiped, or week!"

"AAhhhh!" Film punches his punching bag. The bag goes flying into the wall, causing the wall to slightly crack. Film's entire damier changes into slight shock. He stares at the bag as it wobbles back and forth from the impact. Film's lips quiver a bit before slowly a smile starts to form on his face. His eyes widen as his orange eye's start to sparkle.

"That's it!" Film yells in excitement. "It won't stop it, but it might just work," Film grabs the bag and his aerial goggles and drags them down the hall and into the garage. Film starts setting up a small fighting ring with some foam pads from under the workbench as he makes a fighting ring in the corner of the room.

(Time Skip)

Acid lays in bed half awake as he stares at the wall. The silent night is almost defining. Now sound coming from anywhere, even the little crickets have gone silent. The cold night air blows in through the window, gently brushing his spiky mane.

"Hey," Film wispears into Acid's ear as he pushes on Acid. Acid turns his head to look over his shoulder at Film.

"What is it?" Acid asks, slightly annoyed.

"Follow me," Film says, quietly and slowly making his way towards the door. Acid sits up and looks over at Film in confusion. Film looks back and beckons Acid to follow with a tilt of his head. Acid gets up as Film slowly opens the door. The door creaks loudly in the deafening silence. The sound cutting threw the air like a hot knife. Film cringing at the sound as Acid walks over to Film.

Film looks down the hallway to see no lights on and no one to be seen moving. Film and Acid make their way into the hallway. The house is now casted in a dark blue light from the moon light. The house creaks and groans as Film makes his way to the garage door.

Film turns the handle before gently pushing the door open. The hinges creaking open slowly. The two turn to look down the hallway at their parent's room. The two stand there for a few seconds, watching the door to their parents' room. The two slow down their breaths to almost nothing as they try and hide there very slowly away from their parents. The door goes unmoved, with no sign of movement. Film walks into the garage with Acid fallowing behind him.

Acid closes the door as quietly as he can as Film walks over to the window. He opens the shades to let in the moonlight. Film walks over to the corner as Acid stops and looks up at the moon.

Imprinted on the moon is the face of a horse, the mare on the moon. Acid stares at it and basks in the glow of the moon. The light hugging him, speaking to him, cumferting him. A smile slowly crosses Acid's face before Film coughs to get his brother's attention.

Acid looks over at Film before walking over to him. "What is this?" Acid asks as he looks at the little set up in the corner.

"Your first day of self defense class," Film says with a smile. Acid looks at Film in confusion, cocking his head to the side.

"Why?" Acid asks.

"I want to help you fight back the bullies," Film replies. "Literally," Film pauses, the two looking at each other. Acid looking into Film's eyes, searching deep inside of Film's mind. His eyes sparkling just as much as his smile. His soal speaking threw his eyes, telling Acid it will be ok. Acid not understnding what he was looking for, but understanding Film ment well.

"What first trainer?" Acid asks. Film chuckles before walking up to the punching bag.

(Time Skip)

Acid walks threw the halls of the school. His horse shoes clanking on the pristinely clean marble floor. Passing the occasional group of unicorns, but other than that the hallway was mostly empty that morning.

"You blood sucking pests should not be allowed here!" Acid's ears twitch at the voice. The familiar voice seething with hate and anger. He quickened his walk as he saw the mare from yesterday come into view. She stood in front of a gray pegasus huddled up against the wall.

What caught Acid's eyes were the oddly fluffy ears and the purple bat wings instead of the normal pegasus wings. The mare's hair is bright red with black streaks going through her short spiky mane. Her tail is the same color and her cutie mark is a red moon.

"You bat ponies should have stayed in the cave you crawled out of," The mare yells at the bat pony on the ground. Tears rolling down the little bat ponies cheeks as she tries to pull away from the mare.

"HEY!" Acid yells in anger as he drops his bag onto the ground with a loud thud. Both ponies look over at him to see him staring down the bully.

"What do you want, Muddy?" She asks, glaring at him in disgust.

"You stay away from her!" Acid yells as his horn sends out little orange sparks from its tip. He lowers himself down to the ground in a pouncing stance.

"Look at that, the earth pony wants to fight?" The mare says as she readies her horn. Acid grits his teeth as he struggles to light his horn without his magic collar. Acid finally gets his horn to light up orange before he starts running towards the mare. She smiles as she stands there and pulls up a basic magic shield in front of her.

Acid teleports with a grunt and a flash of orange. Acid appears beside the mare as he bucks her with his hind legs in the muzzle. She stumbles away in surprise as she touches the bleeding cut on her mouth. Acid already winded from just the short teleportation was now breathing heavily.

"YOU DIERT FONDELER!" She yells in seething anger. Her eyes burn with anger as her horn lights up. Before Acid can react, a magic aura surrounds his body and slams him into the wall. Acid lets out a grunt as the wind is knocked out of him. He slumps limply to the ground as a teacher comes running down the hallway.

The bat pony runs over to Acid's uncones body. Her eyes now full of tears of fear for the colt that just stood up for her. His breathing was staggered but still constant, wich eased a bit of her fear.

"Thank goodness you're here Mr. Munch." The mare turns to the teacher. "These two were attacking me and I stopped them,"

"You liar!" The bat pony yells at the mare. "You were harassing me and this colt was just defending me!" She yells threw tears.

"Midnight, grab Acid and bring him to the nurse." The teacher says. Midnight knobs and grabs Acid and slings him over her back before grabbing his bag and drags it down the hallway. "And as for you, once Acid is awake, I'll get his side. And there might be some severe punishment coming to you," The teacher warns the mare. Her ears flopping against her head in fear.

(Time Skip)

"Thanks for that," Midnight says, handing Acid an ice pack.

"No problem," Acid croaks out, still a bit winded from being thrown against the wall. He takes the ice pack from her and places it against his side. He is sprawled out on his side on the nurse's bed with Midnight leaning against the bed with her front hoofs.

"I'm being serious," Midnight says as she sits down on the ground in front of Acid. "I-i've never had someone stand up for me like that," A light blush forms on her face as she looks down at the ground.

"I would do the same to anypony who is being bullied like that," Acid replies. "I've lived threw that, and I still do, I don't want others to have to go threw that,"

"I never got your name?" Midnight asks, looking up into Acid's orange eyes. Acid staring back at her light red eyes.

"Names Acid Chai Flask, most call me dirt lover because I can't do magic that well,"

"I'm Midnight Sprint," The two sit there in slight awkwardness in the silence. The two look around the room for something to talk about.

"Why are you here?" Acid asks.

"I'm being tutored here," Midnight responds. "How about you small Flask?" Acid snickers at the nickname. "Oh! I should have asked," She quickly realized and covered her mouth.

"I-it's ok. I kind of like it," Acid says with an attempt at a comforting smile.

"R-really?" Midnight asks, uncovering her mouth.

"Ya, we are going to be friends after all. Right?" Acid asks, cocking an eyebrow. A small smile forms across Midnight's face.

"Really?"

"Really," As the words left his lips, Midnight jumped up onto the bed and hugged Acid tightly. Acid's eyes widen in both surprise and pain. His muffled yells are not heard by the mare bear hugging him. He taps her on the back. Midnight's eyes widen as she lets go.

"Oh My Luna! Are you ok?" Midnight asks as Acid rolls onto his back. He grits his teeth as he places the ice pack against his side.

"Ya, just try and not kill me next time," Acid repons as jokenly as possible threw his pain.

"I'll do my best," Midnight says. "I'll be the best friend you've ever had,"

"Just being here is more than most poneis have done for me," Acid says with a smile as the pain goes away. "And the first mare other than my mother to hug me like that," He thinks as Midnight starts to ask a question.

"W-would you like to hang out later?"

"I would," Acid says with a smile before his eyes drift away from her. His ears flopping against his head. "But I have a lot of stuff at home,"

"Oh…" Midnight's ears flop against her head. Her eyes looking down at the bed. Her mind is trying to think of a way to keep hanging out with him. It then starts to click into place as her ears rais up and a smile creeps onto her face. "Half an hour before school at the park nearby!"

Acid snaps his head over to her in surprise as his ears perk up. "I think that could work," Acid says with a big smile on his face.

(Time Skip)

Acid slams the door open, almost busting it down as it hits the wall. Acid bounces into the house with a big smile on his face. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" Acid yells in excitement. He places his bag by the door before closing it behind him.

"Why are you bouncing?" Glass asks from the couch. She places her book she was reading down on the coffee table.

"I…" Acid stops himself as he realizes his mother would not allow him to go early just to see a friend. "I joined a chess club. I now have to go a half an hour before class,"

"Sounds like fun," Glass says as she walks over to Acid. The two hug as Film watchs in the hallway.

"He stuttered, he never stutters," Film thinks before walking into the room.

"Hi Acid!" Film greets him with a smile.

"Hi Film," Acid responds as the two start talking and walk down the hallway. The two walking past their dad, who was just coming out of the bathroom.

"Hi Dad," The two brothers said at the same time.

"Hi Squirts," Avi responds as he walks the opposite way they came from. Avi walks into the living room as Glass walks over to him.

"Acid looks like he's going to die of joy," Avi says jokingly as the two nuzzle necks.

"He's just happy he finally found a group to join," Glass respons.

(Time Skip)

Acid walks threw the park looking around for Midnight. His head turns as his eyes scan the area as he tries to find her. His heart rate speeds up as he starts to get worried. The cool morning wind blows against his body. It shouldn't have been that hard to find a bat pony in the morning.

"Where is she?" Acid thinks as he sits down under the tree they were going to meet at. He looks around as the sun starts to rise over the horizon. Acid could not soak in the beautiful red and orange sun rise as he taps his foot on the ground in anticipation. His ears flopping against his head as the realization sinks in. The red light turned into orange then yellow. Acid sighs as he stands up. He turns to leave right as a voice yells his name.

He turns with a smile and his ears shoot up as Midnight comes running. He turns around as she stops in front of him, out of breath and dripping with sweat. Her hair sticking to her body as her wings relaxe. Acid stands there patiently as she catches her breath. The two sit down on the ground before talking.

"I-i'm s.." Acid interrupts her.

"It's ok, you're here now. That's all that matters," Acid says, smiling and placing a gentle hoof on Midnight's shoulder. Midnight smiles as her red eyes sparkle in the delight.

"R-really?"

"Really," Acid reponds. Midnight lunges forward and wraps her arms around Acid's body. Acid lets out a surprise squeak as the two go tumbling down into the grass. Midnight screechs in joy before leting go of him. She lands on her feet over top of him with him looking up at her. Acid looks up at her in surprise while Midnight looks down at Acid between her legs with a big smile. Their muzzles close enough together that they can feel eachother breathing.

The two look at each other for a hot second as the sun rises fully over the horizon. The light from the sun causes their eyes to glint and shine. The two burst out laughing. Midnight falls onto Acid's chest as he brings her into a hug.

The two slowly stop laughing as they calm down. The two looking at eachother then causes them to let out another little chuckles. Midnight wraps her arms around Acid and nuzzles into his neck. Acid smiles and nuzzles back.

"I think this is going to be the beginning of a chaotic friendship," Acid whispers into her ear. Midnight chuckles in response, hugging him tighter.
