Garp stared at his unconscious grandson. By his bedside, an orange-haired girl lay asleep. Luffy had awakened his haki trying to protect the girl. Garp couldn't overlook this. After being told what had happened by the girl Garp knew Luffy would make a great no a legendary marine. But he knew Luffy wouldn't want to be a marine. No matter how much he tried he knew his plan would fail. Luffy would eventually find out that the girl's dream was to draw a map of the world. And with that, any hope of Luffy being a marine would vanish like salt being mixed with water. He had been told the girl's backstory by the scarred man, whose name he would find out to be Genzo. Genzo had told him how Arlong killed Bellemere and how he had enslaved the girl. It made Garp's blood boil. When the remaining Fishmen came to check on Arlong Garp wiped the floor with them. Once he was done only the tall building called Arlong park was left standing. He figured he should leave it for Luffy. When the boy would find out the building would cease to exist. It took 3 days for Luffy to wake up. Garp was asleep and he woke up to the loud sound of "FOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDD"
At the sound of his declaration, Garp instructed the villagers on how to alleviate their savior's appetite.
1. Give him meat
2. Give him anything edible
3. Wait
It took some time and almost all the food in the village but eventually Luffy was satisfied. His slim frame turned oval at the site of his stomach. However, quick as a flash the boy turned slim once more. He looked around searching for someone.
"If you're looking for Nami she's up at the top of that cliff," Genzo said pointing to said cliff
"Luffy you should go thank her she was the one who was taking care of you while you were out," Garp said
Luffy jumped out of bed and rushed up to the top cliff. At the top, he found a laughing Nami talking to a grave.
"He snores in his sleep," she said laughing
"Who snores in his sleep"
"Luffy you're awake!"
"Yep my gramps said you took care of me while I was asleep"
"Don't worry about it"
"So whose grave is this"
"My mother's"
"Oh"
"Hey Nami can you tell me about her?"
At his request, Nami told him everything about her. She told him about how she had saved her and her sister, how she had taken care of both of them, how she had encouraged Nami's dream of making a map of the world, how Arlong had shot her in front of her, and how she was one of the things that kept her going during her time as Arlong's slave. Luffy listened to every single word taking it in like a sponge.
"Oi Nami if you want to make a map of the world you know what that means right"
"What?"
"You have to be my navigator cause only the Pirate King can go where ever he wants"
Laughing she agreed "I guess your right"
The site of her laughing with the setting sun as the background would forever be ingrained in Luffy's mind.
"We should go back now Luffy the sun is setting and I don't want the others to worry"
While they were walking Luffy caught sight of a large tower in the distance. Curious he decided to ask Nami about it
"Hey, Nami what's that thing?" He asked pointing to the large tower in the distance
"Arlong Park" Nami answered trembling
Luffy just stared at the large building.
"Nami did you there's something called a Raw Ham Melon on this island"
"Yeah it's Genzo's favorite dish," Nami replied
"I wanna try it. It sounds so good" Luffy replied drooling
They reached the village Arlong Park forgotten in Nami's mind but not in Luffy's. The two went their separate ways to get some much-needed sleep. BOOOOOMMMMMM and CRRAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH were the sounds that greeted the villagers of Cocoyashi village in the morning.
"What was that!?," Genzo asked as he ran out of his house screaming.
"Oh that's probably Luffy," Garp said yawning.
"Oi, where'd Arlong Park go!?" One of the villagers asked
At this Nami, who had silently made her way down to the village, stared off into the space that was once occupied by the hulking structure. She took off running towards the location of the park. When she got there she was her eyes were welcomed to the site of rubble and splintered wood. In the middle of the mayhem stood Luffy his hands clad in black.
"Luffy!"
At the sound of Nami's voice, Luffy turned around and the black on his fists disappeared.
"Oh, yo Nami,"
"Don't "oh yo Nam" me! What happened?" She asked
"Ah I punched the tower and it fell."
Nami could see that Luffy had indeed punched the tower and its surroundings he had done it several times from what Nami could tell.
"Now you don't have to worry about it," Luffy said as he placed his straw hat on top of her head just as he did his stomach grumbled. "Oi Nami, can you make me breakfast?" Luffy asked
Nami stared at his innocent face.
Waving his hand in front of her eyes "Oi Nami you ok"
Nami launched herself forward towards Luffy. She had kissed him. The sight of Nami kissing Luffy greeted Genzo, Garp, and the other villagers as they reached the ruins of what was once Arlong Park.
