The sun rises over the city of Canterlot. The sunlight covering the land like a warm blanket as it makes its way into Film and Acid's bedroom. The light slowly creeps across the room until it hits Acid's sleeping body. His eyes snap open as a big smile forms on his face. Acid pushes the covers off of his body as he jumps out of bed.

Film rolls over with a slight smirk on his face as he slowly sits up. Acid opens the door and heads down the hallway. He opens the door to his parents bedroom and runs up to the bed. He jumps up and struggles to climb on before pulling himself up. He then starts jumping up and down on the bed.

"It's morning!" Acid yells before jumping off the bed and heading out the door. Avi chuckles as he sits up.

"You're child's awake," Avi says as he watches Film sleepely walk by the still open door.

"He's awake early, he's your child," Glass retorts back, face first into the pillow.

"I got the cooking this morning, don't worry," Avi says as he gets out of bed.

"Don't burn the toast this time," Glass says, rolling her head to the side to look at Avi. Her tired eyes and messy hair made Avi smile.

"Trust me," Avi places a kiss on Glass's forehead before walking to the door. "I won't." Glass chuckles as she goes back to sleep while Avi walks out of the room and closes the door.

Acid and Film sit at the dinner table as Avi places toast with peanut butter in front of them. Acid and Film taking a pill each and taking a swig of milk before digging into their food. Avi smiles as he sits down across from his colts. The two brothers devoured their food really quickly.

Acid is the first to get done. He jumps off his chair as he strains to levitate his dishes to the sink. His face contorting in different forms of pain and concentrations. His horn sparks with orange light as the plates gently float into the sink. He takes a deep breath, his heart raising, as a proud smile forms on his face.

He walks away as Film gets done and places his dishes into the sink as well. Glass walks into the kitchen, still a bit tired as Acid walks past her.

"Good morning mom," Acid says, looking up at her with a smile before walking past her.

"Good morning sweetie," Glass responds, watching him walk into the hallway. Glass walks over to the table next to Avi as Film walks to follow Acid. Glass sits down next to Avi as she levitats the toast up to your mouth and slowly eats it.

"Good morning love," Avi says as he bits into his toast.

"Good morning," Glass replies with a slight smile on her face.

"How was your sleep?" Avi asks, taking a swig of milk.

"Good as always," Glass says, nugging her head against Avi's neck. The two chuckle as the brothers walk by with their saddlebags on their backs.

"Goodbye Mom! Goodbye Dad!" Acid and Film yell as the two leave the house.

"Have a good day you two!" Glass yells as the door closes. Leaving the two alone in the house.

"So, how about a date for our anniversary?" Avi asks, looking over at Glass with an eyebrow raised.

"Sparkling Night?"

"I'll see if I can get the same spot on the balcony like always," Avi says, standing up and placing his dishes into the sink.

"Did I say I love you?" Glass asks, placing her diches in the sink before nuzzling her head against Avi's neck.

"Many times,"

Acid walks down the dirt path of the park. The sun beating down on his back from its highest point in the sky. Plastered on his face is a big smile. His eyes dart around as he looks for a certain bat pony. On his back is his saddle bag. He finally spots Midnight under a tree with a picnic blanket. She is rummaging threw her saddle bag as Acid walks up to her.

"Good afternoon," Acid says as he sits down next to her.

"Hello," Midnight says as she pulls out a sandwich from her bag. Acid slides off his bag before pulling out his own sandwich.

"How is tutor?" Acid asks before biting into his sandwich. Midnight had already bitten into hers. She swallows before speaking.

"It's been ok, how is making metal wings going?"

"Badly," Acid says, looking down at the ground. His smile fades slightly before returning just as quickly as it left. "But I have been improving on my magic,"

"Really?"

"Yes," Acid nodes energetically. "Look at my sandwich," Acid places his sandwich on the picnic blanket. Acid then grabs his magic collar from in his saddle bag and straps it onto his horn. Acid then turns and looks at the sandwich before closing his eyes. His horn sparks to life as it is enveloped in an orange glow. Sparks flying off his horn as the collar on his horn spins to life. The crystal in the center starts glowing orange.

Acid grits his teeth as his face turns red. The sandwich is then engulfed in an orange glow. Midnight watches Acid as he slowly flots the sandwich to his hoofs.

Midnight blushes slightly as she watches Acid basicly glow with happiness as the sandwich lands in his hoofs. He lets out a sigh before starting to pant. Midnight's heart raises as her wings shift slightly.

"I-i'm s-sti-il w-work-king o-on it," Acid says between deep breaths. Midnight blinks and closes her mouth, which was open the enter time.

"That.. was.. SO COOL!" Midnight yells, flinging her hoofs into the air as the blush fades away.

"R-really?" Acid asks, his face turning a even brighter red, if you could believe that. He covers his face with his hoof as he scratches the back of his head.

"Ya, it's better than last week," Midnight places her hoofs back down.

"That's…" Acid stops when he looks at her. He is now staring at something past her. Midnight tilts her head in confusion before looking behind her. She covers her mouth as her face turns red. Acid starts to chuckle as the two look at her sandwich, now in the tree above them.

"I guess they could call you a tree feeder," Acid jokingly says as Midnight flies up and grabs her sandwich from the tree.

"Actually, I have something to talk to you about," Midnight says, landing on the ground with a serious tone. Acid looks at her with slight concern. His head tilting slightly to the side as the one ear he tilted towards falls against his head.

"What is it?"

"The rumor,"

"Oh.." Acid looks down at the ground as his other ear flops against his head. "That,"

"I think we might need to stop hanging out for a bit,"

"There has to be another way," Acid blurts out as his eyes twitch around the area as he thinks of something.

"There is no other way,"

"There always is another way," Acid says as his breath slightly quickens. His eyes bouncing off of everything around him.

"Acid," Midnight says concerningly. "Acid," her voice raised a bit as she moved closer to him. Acid looks everywhere but her as his mind runs away from him. He is now fully hyperventilating. "ACID!" Midnight yells as she grabs his head and forces him to look her in the eye.

Acid lets out a high-pitched yelp as he looks at her. He shrinks away from her as best as he can."Yes?"

"Acid," Midnight sighs as she lets go of him. "I don't want to hurt you,"

"And you haven't,"

"But me being with you will absolutely murder your popularty,"

"Which I don't have,"

"At least you aren't treated like the dirt they walk on,"

"The one mare thinks I am,"

"Acid! Listen to me for once!" Midnight yells at him, causing him to shrink in fear. "Bat ponies are seen as less than everyone else. Even less than you Acid." Acid looks at the ground in slight shame. "Remember when the mare you tried to fight off of me just ignored you?" Acid nods. "At least she has the courtesy to do so. Every chance she and others get they put me down. Hit me, punch me, and call me names you would not understand,"

"Oh," Acid's ears slowly flop to the side of his head as his demeanor changes. He looks down at the ground, away from her as he processes the information. Midnight looks away from him. Her ears bending a bit in sadnes as she sighs. Midnight's body stiffens as she feels Acid wrap his arms around her body. He buries his head into her side. Tears clouding his eyes as they roll down his cheek.

"Acid?" Midnight turns and puts an arm around his back.

"There has to be another way," He says, looking up at her. His eyes now blood shot. Midnight looks away as her heart breaks.

"I'm sorry," Midnight whispers as she leans her head against the top of his.

The quiet night sky looks down upon the ponies of the world. The moon light streaming into the houses of many. A few hit Acid's face as he looks up at the moon. His mind raced with ways to fix the rumor.

He shifts and turns as the seconds tick by. His eyes darted around the room, finnlay landing back on the moon.

He looks at it, the impression in the shape of a horse head staring back at him. A cool breeze flows through the window and gently pushes Acid's hair. He closes his eyes as he lets the cool night air flow over his head. He sighs as he rolls over to face the wall.

"There has to be a way, there is always a way," Acid thinks over and over again as his eyes slowly start to shut. The cool winds slowly lal him to sleep. His mind drifted off and finlay resting.

Acid walks up to the doors to the school building. The sun shone down onto the back of his neck. He places his hoof on the door and slowly pushes the door open. He walks into the main room. The giant room with the fancy chandelier on the ceiling is full of life. The chatter of little ponies echoes throughout the room.

Acid looks around with a sorrowful expression on his face. He looks around and is eventually met with Midnight's eyes. He stops walking as he watches her from across the room talking to a teacher. Midnight looks over with a small smile and waves. Acid returns the smile and waves before walking away.

Months went by like this, the two only saw each other from across the room. Only able to wave and smile, not wanting to hurt each other further. Every day Acid's heart longs to just run over to her and hug her at least one more time, but he knows she would yell at him for it.

Every day they seem to get further away from each other. The two slowly drifted away over the months. One sunny summer day would finally put a nail into the coffin.

Acid walks up to the door for the first day of the new school year. He opens the door as the room is filled with chatter of friends catching up. He looks around with a smile as he tries to find Midnight. His eyes darted around the room for the gray bat pony.

His smile slowly falls as his ears slowly droop a bit. He slows down to a crawl as it finally hits him. She was gone, whether by choice or by force, she was now gone from his life. His eyes fill with tears, but he swipes them out right away. He takes a deep breath as the bell rings out into the hallways.

The students in the room walk into the hallways to make there way to their classrooms. Acid gets swept up into the stream of ponies. He mindlessly goes threw his day as all he can think about is Midnight.

The moonlight shines into the garbage, hitting the back of Acid's head as he looks at a pair of metal wings on the workbench. His eyes were full of tears, causing him to not be able to work. He tries to wipe them away, but it's no use, they keep coming back.

The door slowly creaked open as Film popped his head in. He looks over to see Acid at the workbench. Film slowly walks over to Acid sitting at the workbench. Acid continues to sit there, not acknowledging his brother.

"Acid.." Film whispers as he sits down next to him, worried in his face and voice. He drapes his wing around Acid and pulls him closer to him. Acid doesn't resist, he actually leans into Film's chest, wrapping his arms around his brother's body. Tears roll down his cheeks freely now as he nuzzles into Film's body.

"S-she's gone," Acid stutters as Film combs his hoof down his brother's hair.

"Shhh.." Film whispers into Acid's ear. "Just let it out before talking," Acid's body shakes as he sniffs. His tears slowing down with every minute that pasts. His eyes now red from crying. "What happened?" Film asks, looking down into his brother's orange eyes.

"Midnight, my friends," Acid starts, still hiccuping from the crying. "My only good friend is gone now," Film looks to the ground in thought.

"What about Twilight?"

"She's not the same," Acid responds as he sits up and scoots closer to Film. Film leans over and hugs Acid as Acid hugs back.

"You'll find another friend," Film comforts Acid. "You always do," Acid nods against Film's shoulder. "And even if you don't," Film pulls away and places a hoof under Acid's chin. The two look into each other's eyes. Film smiles before saying, "You will always have your brother standing next to you,"

Acid smiles as new tears form in his eyes. Film looks concerned before Acids hugs him again. "I know," Acid says as he nuzzles into FIlm's neck. Film smiles and hugs back again. "Thank you," Acid whispers.

"Just repaying you for helping me,"
