Acid works on a machine that stands against the wall of his lab. A small half circle made out of metal with a control button haphazardly linked to the thing. Acid Places a rod with a metal ball on the end to the flat top of one of the ends. The other end also has the same road with the ball.
Acid is wearing a lab coat with goggles placed on his forehead. He walks over to the collection of buttons on the floor before sliding the goggles over his eyes. He starts pushing the buttons in what seems like random timings. His eyes dart from button to button as his brain runs at a mile a minute. His expression neutral and calculated.
The semicircle crackling to life as parts of it start to glow a bright yellow. Other parts move as steam billows out the sides of the machine. Sparks of lightning hit the machine as the balls on top of the roads start to glow a bright blue. Blue lighting slowly streaking out and towards eachother to conven in the center of the machine.
Forming from the lightning is a small black dot that slowly starts to expand. Acid stops and looks up at the black hole. Wind rushing past his ears as the small dot slowly builds up. A big smile slowly creeps onto Acid's face right before a loud pop from the machine echoes out. His ears flop to the side of his head as panic fills his face.
He starts hitting the buttons as lighting now shoots out from the machine instead of being consumed. Steam starts to fill the room, making it really warm as Acid tries to stop the device.
The ends of his hairs stand up as a flash of panic strikes his face. With no time to dodge, a bolt of lightning arcs out of him and towards the machine, causing Acid to cry out in pain. The lighting lets out a loud crack before sending Acid flying into one of his desks.
The machine slowly stops as the lightning disappears. The black hole collapses in on itself as Acid recovers from the lightning strike. He stands up slowly as he rubs his head. He takes off the goggles and lab coat before checking himself over for damage.
"You ok Mr. Flask!" A stallion yells out as he bursts into the room. He is bright white with red, combed back hair and a short red tail with a black line through it. His eyes are an unnatural bright green and his cutie mark is an empty flask.
"I-i think so," Acid stutters out as he does final checks for any damage before looking at his machine.
"What happened?" The stallion asked.
"I was trying to create a long distant teleporter, but only managed to make a fancy lighting rod," Acid says, turning to the stallion. "Now, why are you here?"
"Oh!" The stallion releases something right when Acid asks. "The p-princess wants you in her throne room right now,"
"All right," Acid says before making his way to the door with the stallion by his side. "What does she want?"
"I don't know," The stallion responds back with a shrug. "She just said she wanted to see you, and to tell you it's very important to her,"
"All right," Acid says as he holds open the door. "Clean up the mess for me, don't touch anything you would have to ask me what it does, and don't blow up the lab," Acid lists off. The stallion nods before Acid steps out into the hallway, the door closing behind him. The stallion gets to work as Acid walks down the hallway.
"What does Celestia want from me this late in the night?" Acid thinks as he passes Blood Moon's classroom. Moon sees Acid walk by as she was gathering her stuff. She quickly grabs her papers and slips them under her wing before walking after Acid.
"Hey short stuff!" Moon yells out, causing Acid's ears to swivel in the direction of her gravely yet feminine voice. He stops and looks back at her with a smile as she walks up to him.
"Hi skyscraper," Acid replies with a cheeky smile.
"Ha. Ha." Moon sarcastically laughs as Acid chukkels. The two start walking down the hallway as they continue talkinging. "So what are you doing outside of your lab at 10AM?"
"Celestia has requested my presence at the throne room," Acid replies as they turn the corner. The halls are almost devoid of life, all except for the occaninal royal bat guard walking by.
"Sounds important if she needs you at her throne,"
"Ya," Acid replies. The two walked in silence for quite a while after that. Their hoofs echoing across the hallway the one thing that breaks the absolute silence that creeps into both of their brains. Acid looks around the hallway, scanning the walls as his mind tries to find something to talk about.
"Why don't the bat guards have their own armor?" Acid asks. This catches Blood Moon off guard.
"Hu.." She thinks for a moment as it dawns on her. The bat guards have only been wearing the traditional royal guard outfit. They had not yet got their own, even though they are a completely separate division to the soler royal guards. "I-i don't know,"
"They look ridiculous in the regular shiny gold armor," Acid follows up his statement as he turns to face her.
"I should bring that up to the lieutenant," Moon mumbles as Acid stops at the big double doors.
"This is my stop," Acid says as Moon turns around to face him. "See you later tonight?"
"As long as you don't sneak into my classroom and change something without me knowing," Blood Moon responds back. Acid rolls his eyes as Blood Moon smiles right before Acid pushes the doors open and walks into the throne room.
The door closes behind him as he walks up to Celestia sitting on her golden throne. He bows down in respect as Celestia rolls her eyes with a big smile. Acid stands back up with a smile on his face.
"You really don't need to do that every time," Celestia responds as she stands up.
"It makes you smile," Acid states simply. Celestia shakes her head slowly as she walks down the stairs. "So, what do you want me for?" Acid asks as Celestia stops in front of him. His neck is already aching from looking up at her.
"I want to talk to you about something personal," Celestia says, her smile fading away as she sits down in front of him. Something she hasn't done since he was thirteen. Acid sits down as he notices that all the guards that are normally present are now gone.
"What is it?" He asks as he looks up at her with concern.
Celestia sighs before speaking, "This may sound weird coming from a pony most ponies would die to see, but.." Celestia's normal royal daminer shatters as she speaks. Acid looking a little worried for his mentor. "I think I have developed feeling for you more than just a student teacher relationship,"
Acid's jaw drops slightly as his eyes go a little wide. "The princess of all of equestria has fallen in love with me! What most ponies would call a disgrace to Unicorns!" Acid's eyes drift down and freeze on the tile floor as his brain turns into static.
Celestia waits patiently as the information sinks into his brain. His eyes shaking a bit as his brain wraps around the idea of the princess falling in love with him. Acid snaps out of it with a jolt as he shakes his head before yelling louder than he wanted to, "WHAT!" Acid clasps his hoofs over his mouth as Celestia lets out a little laugh. "Sorry," Acid replies at a more normal volume. "I mean, what?"
"I.." Celestia starts before stopping. Her heart raising as she tries to find the right words to express her feelings with out being wire. She looks threw her mind for a way to say her next thought without causing problems. "When I first met you, I just picked you due to how curious you were about science." Celestia starts out. Acid looking up at her with his ears pointed towards her.
"I cared for you like a teacher does to a student, but slowly I saw myself turn into a mother. Caring about you even when I should have been thinking of something else. It then slowly developed over time as I saw you grow up until it dawned on me one day." Celestia looks Acid dead in the eye before saying, "I love you Acid,"
Acid looks down at the ground as his mind, without static this time, thinks for a few seconds. Celesita waits patiently, but very nervous as Acid thinks. "Princess," Her heart beats faster at just the first word.
"I know, I Know," Celesti interrupts him quickly. "Why would a goddess like a normal pony?" Acid looks confused right before he tries to speak up, but is then interrupted by Celestia again. "Or how could I love you when I'm immortal,"
"Tia!" Acid yells, shocking Celestia into looking down at him. Acid sighs as he looks down at the floor. "I love you like a son does to his mother," Celestia smiles before gently placing a hoof on his shoulder. He looks up into Celestia's big, beautiful eyes. He can't help but smile while looking into her sun-like eyes.
"Thanks for being honest Acid," Celestia says, sighing to herself in relief.
"Anytime mom," Acid says with a cheeky smile. Celestis laughs as she stands up. Acid stands up with her as she walks back up to her throne. "That's it?"
"Oh, and you are now the new cabinet member of the science division," Celestia says nonchalantly as she sits down on her throne.
"Oh," Acid says as he turns around before the news sinks in. "I'm the new cabinet member!" Acid yells with a big smile on his face. He starts walking towards the door with a slight skip in his step while music not heard by anyone else plays in his ears. He leaves the room with joy on his face and in his heart.
