Chapter 24: A Heartless Halloween
Arthur, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Tod, Twilight, Tor, Amity, Kirby, Katara, Robin, and Maka and Soul leave Atlantica and revert back to their normal forms, as they return to the Gummi ship and they continue their journey and they find the next world from before.
"Well, looks like our next stop is the world before Atlantica." Arthur said.
"Time to get goin' then." Donald said.
The Gummi ship starts flying while fighting off Heartless ships and after a few minutes of flying and dodging obstacles, they arrive at the next world, which looks like a giant pumpkin with a face, a spooky looking town with a fountain of green water, a graveyard with a curly hill, and a creepy like manor at the bottom.
"Wow, this place looks...interesting..." Sora said.
"Fellas, this is Halloween Town. It's a world where monsters live." Chip said.
"And as the name implies, they celebrate Halloween every year." Dale said.
"Halloween? Interesting." Tor said.
"No way! Just looking at this world is reminding me of Death City! We've GOT to go here!" Maka said.
"Typical Maka. Always excited for something." Soul said, making Maka use her Maka Chop on the weapon boy.
"Well then, let's go check that world out." Twilight said.
"Off we go!" Donald said.
(World of Halloween Town)
Later, the group are now in what looks like a creepy yard with the sky being red, dead tress, dead grass, pumpkins on crooked fences, and fog spewing all and as the group arrive, they have different forms.
Arthur is now wearing a black and crimson torn up and sleeveless tunic with a black belt, his left hand is now skeletal while his right hand is that of a ghost's, black torn pants with dark blue chains, black boots with spikes, and also wearing a black mask covering the left side of his face while his right side face is visible, but his right eye is bloodshot red, and also has stitches on his face.
Sora is now wearing a black and grey long-sleeve outfit with white gloves, red wrappings around his legs, a small torn cape on his back, a pumpkin mask over his right eye, he has fangs, and small bat wings on his back.
Donald is now what looks like a mummy with bandages wrapped around his body, except for his bill and tail feathers and his stimach and left arm are missing.
Goofy is now what looks like a Frankenstein's Monster with crazy eyes, small pumpkin nose, yellow and orange rags for clothes, torn green pants, and has a screw on his head.
Tod is now what looks like a red furred werewolf cub with fangs, claws, and bloodshot eyes with slit pupils.
Twilight is now wearing what looks like a black and blue mage's outfit with a dark blue mage hat with black feathers, her wings are now crooked, her mane and tail are messy, and still has her Cutie Mark.
Tor is now what looks like a dark brown furred Werelupe with fangs, claws, green eyes, wearing skeletal armor with spiked shoulder pads, and torn purple pants.
Amity is now wearing a pink witch'es outfit with a dark purple slimy witch hat with the top of the witch hat floating while the hat also has the face of her Abomination's, black choker around her neck, black belle sleeves, black cloak on her back, dark grey stockings, and dark pink boots.
Kirby is now pale pink with glowing yellow eyes, wearing a jester hat with the left side being black with red skulls while the right is white with blue ghosts, his stubby arms have claws, his big red feet also have claws, and also has small imp wings and imp tail.
Katara is now wearing what looks like a black shoulderless dress while a dark red sleeveless outfit is under the dress, she also has red marks on her face, as well as a crescent moon symbol on her forehead, and also wearing a veiled hat to conceal her face while her hair is loose, but slightly messy.
Robin is now a red a furred werewolf with fangs, claws, wearing dark green rags for clothes, bloodshot eyes, barefoot, and has a bone on his head in place of his hat.
Maka is now wearing what looks like a black torn hooded trench coat while also wearing a black mini dress under the trench coat, black short boots with spikes, a black skull like mask covering her right eye, her hair is still tied to pigtails, but messy and tied by black rabbit like ribbons, her hands are skeletal, and also wearing an amulet with a skull symbol.
Soul is now wearing a yellow and black torn hooded coat, black and crimson skull mask covering the left half of his face, black combat boots with spikes, his hands are also skeletal, his hair is messy, a spiked collar around his neck, and two scythe like blades are on his back.
Maka examines her new appearance and is excited.
"Wow! This is AMAZING!" Maka cheered.
"Gee, Chip and Dale weren't kiddin' when they said this place is spooky..." Goofy said scared.
"I'll bet the people in this world are spooky too..." Arthur said.
"What've you got to worry about, Artie? I, for one, dig this world. Dark, gloomy, scary, monstrous. I might as well call this place Death City II. My kinda world." Soul said, grinning.
"Don't worry, guys. We look spooky too." Donald said.
"Yeah and if anyone tries to scare us, we'll simply scare 'em right back!" Twilight said, smiling.
"You think so?" Katara asked.
"Positive! Let's see what Halloween Town's got to scare!" Sora said.
"Here we go!" Robin said.
(Guillotine Yard)
(Information: Head for the town!)
The group start moving through the yard and they come across a scarecrow with a sign that says 'Halloween Town', meaning they're getting close to the town and they find a crooked gate and open it, taking them to the next area.
(Halloween Town Square)
The group arrive at the town square, but then, an explosion occurs from a tower like structure, making smoke come out and just then, Search Ghosts appear.
"Heartless!" Katara said, as they get ready to fight, but the Search Ghosts aren't moving or even attacking.
"That's weird, you'd think they'd be attacking by now." Amity said.
"Heh, guess they should be called the 'Brainless'." Soul said, making Sora, Donald, Goofy, Kirby, Arthur, and Robin chuckle.
"Still, if they won't attack us, then let's have a look around." Twilight said.
"Way ahead of you." Maka said.
As the group explore the town square, they se emany monsters gathering around the town's fountain.
"What's going on here?" Arthur asked.
"Something very interesting probably." Tor said.
(Field Theme: This is Halloween)
"Poyo!" Kirby said, pointing at someone, who is a monster with an orange happy face wearing a black and white coat with a spider on it, as well as a red ribbon that says 'Mayor' and a black top hat holding a megaphone.
"And now, allow me to introduce...the Master of Terror! The King of Nightmares...JACK SKELLINTON!" The Mayor announced, as the Search Ghosts separate to present the fountain, as something emerges from the fountain, which is a tall skeleton wearing a black and white striped suit with a bat bowtie and the skeleton strikes a pose, making the monsters cheer. "Bravo, Jack! Bravo! Those ghosts will be a HUGE hit for this year's Halloween!" The Mayor said.
"Thank you! Thank you! Still, their movements still need work. They're not scary enough..." The skeleton known as Jack said, hanging his head down. "I want to strike BONE-CHILLING terror! I'm going to consult the Doctor." Jack said, leaving.
"Then I'll attend to the decorations." The Mayor said, leaving.
"Heartless, for Halloween?" Goofy said, scratching his head.
"I don't know if that sounds promising..." Katara said.
"Why don't we follow that Jack guy and see what he's up to?" Sora suggested.
"Good idea." Maka said.
(Information: Follow Jack!)
The group follow Jack and they find a door and open it, taking them somewhere else.
(Lab Entrance)
The group arrive at a yard of the tower and they make their way for the tower to enter it.
(Dr. Finkelstein's Lab)
The group enter the lab to find Jack with another person, who is a scientist with white skin, eight bolts on his head, wearing a white lab coat, black gloves, black goggles, and is on a wheelchair examining a Search Ghost on a table.
"I don't understand... Maybe the guidance system was damaged in the explosion..." Jack suggested, reading a book.
"Nonsense! My devices are ALWAYS perfect!" The scientist said.
Jack keeps reading the book and finds an answer.
"I got it! Why, of course. The Heartless need a heart! Dr. Finkelstein, do you think we can add a heart to the device?" Jack asked.
"Certainly. A heart's not that complicated. Let's get to work." Dr. Finkelstein said, using his wheelchair to go to the end of the table.
"'To make a heart, first take a container with a lock'." Jack read the book, as Dr. Finkelstein takes out a pulsating heart with a lock on it.
"We need a key for this thinh first!" Dr. Finkelstein said.
After hearing this, Sora gets an idea.
"Sora, you sure you wanna unlock it for them?" Amity asked.
"Why not? If they succeed, we won't have to fight the Heartless for once." Sora said.
"That's a good point." Robin said.
"As much as I like that idea, what if something goes wrong?" Arthur asked.
"I have a bad feeling about all this..." Katara said.
"I don't think anything'll go wrong." Tor said.
"You guys worry too much." Soul said.
"Yeah and besides, I wanna see the Heartless dance too." Sora said.
"Not me. That just sounds silly." Donald said.
"Still, we should at least help them out." Maka said.
"I guess we'll just see what will happen." Twilight said.
"Okay, Sora. Go ahead and unlock that heart." Goofy said.
Sora goes for the heart and uses his Keyblade to unlock the lock.
"My, that was amazing! And, uh, you are...?" Jack asked.
"Sora." Sora introduced.
"And I'm Arthur." Arthur introduced.
"Well done, Sora! For that, I want you, Arthur, and your friends to be part of this year's Halloween!" Jack said.
"Wow! We actually get to be part of a Halloween festival?!" Maka asked excited.
"We're more than happy to join you, Jack!" Sora said.
"Say, Jack, what's this Heartless doing here?" Arthur asked, pointing at the Search Ghost.
"Oh, the Heartless came to town just recently, so we decided to make a Heartless Halloween Festival. What's frustrating is I can't get them to dance with me. So, Dr. Finkelstein and I are working to improve the guidance system. He's quite a genius! Okay, Dr., let's continue! The ingredients for a heart. We have emotion, pulse, terror, fear, hope, and despair." Jack said, putting a pulsating frog, a spider, a pane of glass with an eerie screech, and two snakes that are orange and blue with their mouths on each other's tails. "Now, mix them all together and we have a heart!" Jack said.
Dr. Finkelstein places the heart into a machine and pulls a lever, making electricity crackle over the Search Ghost, who starts to get up, but then, it falls down.
"It failed!" Dr. Finkelstein said, as Jack makes a dramatic pose, much to Maka's amusement.
"If I may, you're probably missing some ingredients." Twilight suggested.
"Hmm, perhaps she's right. Maybe more ingredients are needed. Let's try adding memory!" Dr. Finkelstein said, opening his head, revealing his brain, disgusting Arthur, Twilight, Katara, Kirby, and Maka, as the doctor is scratching it. "Sally! Sally!" Dr. Finkelstein called, but answer. "Good-for-nothing girl! Don't know why I bothered creating her!" Dr. Finkelstein said, closing his head.
"You think this Sally has the memory you need?" Robin asked.
"Percisely! Jack, see if you can track her down!" Dr. Finkelstein said.
"No problem! Everyone, would you like to come along?" Jack asked.
"Sure!" Sora said, making Donald put his hands on his hips.
"Knock it off, Duck!" Amity berated.
"Where can we find Sally?" Tor asked.
"She normally spends her free time at the graveyard. We'll check there first." Jack said.
The group leave the lab, but as they return outside, they find the Mayor, whose face is now pale with a frown.
"Jack! Jack! We have a major crisis! The Heartless are completely out of control and are attacking everyone! We can't stop them!" The Mayor said.
"Somehow, I was afraid something like this would happen..." Katara said.
"Hmm, maybe the device triggered something... Everything will be fine, Mayor. You have nothing to worry about." Jack assured, but Donald crosses his arms and taps his foot.
"Ugh, we get it! Knock it off or I'll end you!" Amity threatened, making the duck mage sigh.
"Okay, fine..." Donald said.
"Well, guess we'll be fightin' Heartless after all." Soul said.
"I mean, I can't ignore them. We gotta help." Arthur said and they nod.
The group return to the town square to find the Search Ghosts attacking everyone.
"Guys!" Sora said.
"En garde, new friends!" Jack said.
(Battle Theme: Spooks of Halloween Town)
(Information: Defeat the Heartless in the town square!)
The Search Ghosts attack the group with their hands, but Arthur casts Hypno and then delivers four slashes with Excalibur followed by casting Voltra while Sora delivers two vertical slashes with Kingdom Key followed by Blitz, but the Search Ghosts try to drain the group's lives, only for Donald to cast Gravity followed by casting Water while Twilight casts Frostra followed by casting Quakra while Tod uses Growl. The Search Ghosts disappear and reappear and attack, but Goofy blocks with his shield and then uses Goofy Bash while Tor triple slashes with his sword followed by Sword Thrust, but the Search Ghosts attack with their hands, only for Kirby to use Hammer Spin while Jack attacks with his bone fists and then casts Fira, only for the Search Ghosts to try and drain the group's lives. Amity uses her Abomination to create two blades and delivers many slashes with its blades while Katara double water whips and sends out a water blast while Maka uses Scythe-nado, but the Search Ghosts disappear and reappear to attack the group with their hands, only for Robin to use Arrow Rain and they defeat the Heartless around the town square.
The group keep moving through the town square and they find a gate and open it, taking them to a new area.
(Graveyard)
The group arrive at the graveyard to look for Sally.
"We should be on the look out for any more Heartless around here." Twilight said.
"Good idea, Twilight. They could show at any moment." Tor said.
Just then, mummified Heartless known as Wight Knights appear and attack the group with dance like moves and their claws, but Arthur casts Paralyze, stunning them and then horizontal slashes with Excalibur followed by Magic Pulse while Sora triple slashes with Kingdom Key followed by Ripple Drive, but the Wight Knights deliver spinning slash attacks with their claws. Kirby inhales a Wight Knight, becoming Wight Knight Kirby and then delivers spinning slashes with his claws while Tor uses Dancing Blade and delivers sword combos while Jack casts Blizzara and then delivers a slide kick attack, but the Wight Knights deliver leaping attacks with their claws to strike at the group, dealing large amounts of damage. Katara uses Waterbending to heal the group and then uses Soak while Amity shoots three pink fireballs while Maka delivers four slashes with her scythe followed by Scythe Wheel, but the Wight Knights deliver dance like attacks with their claws, only for Goofy to use Charge to send them back, but the Wight Knights leap to attack with their claws. Donald casts Thundara followed by casting Gravity while Robin uses Arrow Cyclone while Tod uses Tackle, but the Wight Knight spin attacks with their claws, only for Twilight to create magic blades and sends them to attack followed by casting Blazra, but the Wight Knights attack with their claws, only for Arthur to use Mjolnir while Sora uses Strike Raid and they defeat the Heartless in the graveyard.
Just then, something rises from a grave and it's a ghost dog with a glowing pumpkin nose.
"Zero! Have you seen Sally anywhere?" Jack asked and Zero flies for the tombstone, making a gasp noise.
Someone comes out of the tombstone and it's a ragdoll girl with pale skin, long red hair, and stitches while wearing green, yellow, and orange rags for clothes.
"Is something wrong, Jack?" The ragdoll named Sally asked.
"Oh, no! Everything's going great! We're going to have the best Halloween ever! All we need now is your memory." Jack said.
"Memory? You mean this?" Sally asked, taking out a white wilted flower.
"Ahh, perfect! The Forget-Me-Not! Wonderful! Thank you, Sally!" Jack said, taking the Forget-Me-Not.
"Listen, Jack... I have a bad feeling about all this... Why don't you try something else? There's still time." Sally said.
"Nothing can beat what I've got planned! Once we give the Heartless a heart, they'll dance just as I've envisioned it!" Jack said, making Sally worry. "Trust me, Sally, you're going to love it!" Jack said.
"At least I'm not the only one with the bad feeling." Katara said.
"Yeah, but for now, we should head back." Maka said, as they leave the graveyard and Sally follows them.
Just then, something giggles from a tombstone and coming out are three children, which are two boys and one girl.
"Lock!" The first boy with red hair and wearing a devil costume named Lock said.
"Shock!" The girl with split hair and wearing a witch costume named Shock said.
"Barrel!" The second boy with green hair and wearing a skeleton costume named Barrel said.
"Did you hear that?" Lock asked.
"Yeah, a heart! What should we do?" Barrel asked.
"Gosh, you really ARE stupid! Isn't obvious?" Shock asked.
"Oh, right! We tell Oogie Boogie!" Barrel said, as they laugh.
The group return to the lab and they find Dr. Finkelstein the Forget-Me-Not.
"Yes, this is it! The next ingredient is 'surprise'. Find the Mayor at the graveyard." Dr. Finkelstein said.
Meanwhile in a room, Lock, Shock, and Barrel huddle together in fear, as a burlap sack, who is tied together in threads with arms and legs, as well as two holes for eyes, and an opening for a mouth, is laughing evilly.
"A heart?! That bonehead Jack is REALLY making a heart? Well, I'll be jiggered! That works for me! Oh, I can't wait to get my hands on... Well, I've got no hands, but I'm still gonna nab that heart and control the Heartless!" The burlap sack said, laughing evilly.
"Do you truly believe that will work?" A voice asked, revealing the Darkest Faerie.
"Hmph! I don't recall asking for YOUR opinion, Faerie! Aren't you and Knight supposed to be spying on the annoying runts?" The burlap sack asked.
"At least we are doing our job. Can you say the same, Oogie?" Another voice asked, revealing Meta Knight.
"In case you don't know, I'm gonna be using that heart to control the Heartless and use them to find that Keyhole and the Faerie Heart! In a way, I am doing my job! Besides, don't think for a second I don't know what YOU'RE up to, Knight!" Oogie said.
"If you truly have a brain among those bugs in that sack, you'd do well to keep that opening you call a mouth shut." Meta Knight said, disappearing in his cape.
"Argh! That masked idiot REALLY grinds my gears! Don't know why the Dr., Maleficent, and Ruber bothered recruiting him!" Oogie said.
"Just make sure you don't fail or you'll suffer my wrath!" The Darkest Faerie said, disappearing in darkness.
"Pfft! Whatever you say, ye of little faith! Now then, you three! You know what to do!" Oogie said.
Meanwhile, the group leave the lab and return to the graveyard and use the tombstone at the end to take them somewhere else.
(Boneyard)
The group arrive at a boneyard, where they find the Mayor, who is standing near a giant pumpkin.
"Good, you're all here!" The Mayor said.
"So, what do we do?" Sora asked.
"It's simple; ghosts will rise from the tombstones. Check the tombstones in the order the ghosts appear. Get it wrong and you're in for a surprise!" The Mayor said.
The group see ghosts rising from certain tombstones and after guessing the right order of the ghosts, an explosion occurs.
"Splendid! Now, look at the pumpkin!" The Mayor said.
The group find the pumpkin destroyed and find a jack-in-a-box.
"So, this is the surprise ingredient?" Amity asked.
"I guess so." Robin said.
"Well, let's take it to the Dr." Jack said.
The griup return to the lab and they give Dr. Finkelstein the jack-in-a-box.
"Very good!" Dr. Finkelstein said, placing the two ingredients into the heart. "There you go. This time it's sure to work!" Dr. Finkelstein said, going for the machine.
Just then, someone jumps in front and in Finkelstein's way and it's Barrel, who trips the doctor and as he falls, the heart bounces off and it lands in Lock's hands, as he, Shock, and Barrle run out of the lab.
"The nerve of those hooligans, stealing my work!" Dr. Finkelstein yelled.
"Don't fret. We'll get it back for you!" Jack said, as they leave the lab.
The group return to the town square, only to find the three kids gone.
"We lost 'em!" Sora said.
"Now what?" Arthur asked, as Jack taps his leg, making Zero arrive.
"Zero, after them! Quick!" Jack ordered, as Zero goes after the three pranksters.
(Information: Chase after the pranksters!)
The group follow Zero and return to the graveyard, where they find Zero going after Lock, Shock, and Barrel, who are using a walking bathtub to get across a curly hill, so the group use the tombestone to return to the boneyard and they head for the next area.
(Curly Hill)
The group arrive at the curly hill area, but as they keep chasing after the trio, someone appears and it's the Darkest Faerie.
"Going somewhere?" The Darkest Faerie asked.
"You! We saw you in Agrabah!" Sora yelled.
"The Darkest Faerie!" Tor yelled.
"If you're trying to get that heart back, don't bother. It will only end in failure." The Darkest Faerie said.
"We have no time for you! Get out of our way!" Jack yelled.
"Or we'll make you!" Donald yelled, taking out his staff.
"Hmph. You truly believe you can defeat me?" The Darkest Faerie asked.
"We won't know unless we try!" Twilight said, taking out her tome.
"We'll teach you a nice lesson!" Amity said.
"Very well. Let us dance." The Darkest Faerie said.
"I'll make you wish you stayed in stone!" Tor said.
(Boss Theme: Squirming Evil)
(Information: Fight off the Darkest Faerie!)
The Darkest Faerie conjures orbs of darkness and throws them at the group, who dodge and Arthur delivers two diagonal slashes with Excalibur followed by Crescent Slash and then uses Naturae's nature magic to unleash vines and summons rocks while Sora delivers four slashes with Kingdom Key followed by a spinning slash and then casts Thundara, but the Darkest Faerie unleashes a skull and throws it at the group to cause curses, such as Stun, Confuse, Poison, and Sleep. The Darkest Faerie unleashes pillars of darkness to get the group, only for Goofy to use Tornado while Tor places a Nova Mote on his sword and uses Sword Spin while unleashing a rainbow nova attack, only for the Darkest faerie to use her wings to fly around and creates dark blades and sends them to attack the group. Kirby strikes back with Final Cutter to get the evil Faerie, who counters with vanishing and reappearing and then unleashes purple lightning to strike down at the group, only for Robin to shoot three arrows while Amity uses her Abomination to create spiked fists and delivers two punches followed by a big kick while Jack casts Thundara and then casts Gravity. The Darkest Faerie flies around to rain down spears of darkness, as well as unleashing thorned vines from the ground, only for Donald to cast Aero followed by casting Earthra while Katara creates ice blades and delivers slashes with them while Maka uses Reaper Dance, but the Darkest Faerie conjures purple flames to try and burn the group. Twilight casts Hydro to counter against the purple flames and then uses Barrier Surge while Tod uses Skullbash, but the Darkest Faerie vanishes and reappears and unleashes more purple lightning, only for the group to dodge the dark lightning and try to strike back.
"I think not!" The Darkest Faerie said, as she unleashes massive darkness and covers the group. "Farewell!" The Darkest Faerie said, as multiple blades of darkness appear and slash at the entire group, dealing excellent damage.
"Gawrsh, that really hurt..." Goofy said, as Arthur, Sora, Donald, Twilight, and Katara heal everyone.
"Tor, did she give you this much trouble?" Arthur asked.
"You could say that. They don't call her the Darkest one for nothing." Tor said.
"Hmm, I'll admit, you are pretty skilled, but you can never defeat me." The Darkest Faerie said.
"Shut up!" Katara yelled.
"You're wasting our time and it stops now!" Amity yelled.
"Yes, I agree. It's time to end this." The Darkest Faerie said.
The Darkest Faerie flies around the group and sends out more blades of darkness, only for Tor to block them with his shield and then uses Sky Dance to attack the Darkest Faerie, who counters with a dark blade and the two clash their weapons, as Goofy uses Rocket while Amity summons an Abomination fist to deliver an uppercut to strike at the Darkest Faerie, who retaliates with summoning three purple flames to burn the group. Twilight casts Hydro again and shoots her own magenta flames to counter against the dark flames, but the evil Faerie vanishes and reappears and tries to curse the Alicorn with another skull, only for Kirby to swing his hammer, making the Darkest Faerie dodge the hammer attack and unleashes pillars of darkness to get the puffball, who dodges, as Katara uses Ice Rain to rain down ice needles. The Darkest Faerie conjures a barrier of darkness to block off the ice needles and then unleashes more thorned vines to deal damage, only for Donald to cast Water followed by casting Blizzara while Robin uses Windmill Bow while Jack casts Gravity followed by casting Thundara, but the Darkest Faerie flies around and rains down orbs of darkness. Maka aerial slashes at the Darkest Faerie with her scythe followed by Scythe-nado while Tod uses Tackle, only for the Darkest Faerie to fly and unleashes purple, but Arthur aerial slashes with Excalibur followed by casting Blazra while Sora also aerial slashes with Kingdom Key followed by casting Fira and they manage to send the Darkest Faerie back.
Arthur and Sora keep trying to attack the Darkest Faerie, who conjures a dark barrier to protect herself against their attacks and then sends the two boys back with telekinetic force.
"Is this the best you have to offer? How pathetic. I expected more from the two legendary heroes." The Darkest Faerie said.
"You're really getting on my nerves!" Sora yelled, as he tries to slash at the Darkest Faerie, who vanishes in darkness.
"It's too early to kill you. Next time, we will meet again." The Darkest Faerie said.
"Get back here! We're not done with you!" Tor called.
"Don't waste your time on her." A voice said, as Meta Knight appears on a pumpkin.
"Not you again!" Amity yelled.
"Poyo! Poyo!" Kirby said.
"You two are showing promise than before, but you are still novices." Meta Knight said.
"What'd you say?!" Donald demanded, jumping up and down.
"You have earned the right to continue, but what the Dark One said was true; the heart you seek to take back will only end in failure. Even if you do recover it, your Heartless Halloween will end in vain." Meta Knight said.
"I don't believe you for a second!" Jack said.
"In time, you shall. Farewell, heroes of light." Meta Knight said, disappearing in his cape.
"What'd he mean 'about the heart endin' in failure?" Goofy asked.
"Dunno, but right now, we gotta get it back." Sora said.
"Sora's right. Let's hurry." Robin said.
Kirby and Tod find a switch on the hill and Kirby presses it to make the curly hill straight and the group use the hill to get across to arrive at the next area.
(Manor Bridge)
The group arrive at a bridge leading to a gate, so they go for the gate and open it, taking them somewhere else.
(Oogie's Manor)
The group arrive at a giant manor, where they find the prankster trio still on their walking bathtub get across the bridge.
"I knew Oogie Boogie was behind this!" Jack said.
"Uh, who now?" Soul asked.
"He's an evil bag of bugs, who tried to run me out of town to take over, but he's always failed." Jack said.
"So, that's why they stole the heart." Sora said.
"He thinks using the heart will give him control of the Heartless." Twilight said.
"Let's go and stop them!" Donald said.
"We got a lot of climbing to do." Maka said.
The group begin moving through the manor while climbing their way up the manor's upper levels, but then, Gargoyle Heartless appear and attack, only for Arthur and Sora to defeat them and keep climbing up the manor and after a few minutes of climbing the manor, they find a small hut at the highest level.
"You think they're in there?" Arthur asked.
"Only one way to find out." Katara said, as they go into the hut.
(Evil Playroom)
The group enter the hut to find Lock, Shock, and Barrel, as Lock throws the heart into a hole, but as they turn around, they see the group.
"Jack! You found us?!" Lock asked.
"Yes, now where is that heart going to?!" Jack demanded.
"We're not telling you." Shock said.
"And you can't make us!" Barrel said.
"Oh, we'll see about that!" Sora said.
"Run away!" Lock, Shock, and Barrel, as they start running.
"Oh, no you don't!" Twilight said, using her magic to catch the three.
"My turn!" Amity said, summoning her Abomination, who ties itself around the three kids to keep them in place.
"Good work, you two." Robin said.
"Now, talk! Where's the heart going?" Tor asked.
"Look, we were just following orders! It wasn't our fault!" Lock said.
"Oh, really?" Katara asked, placing her hands on her hips.
"It's not! It's Barrel's fault! He's the one, who said we should tell Oogie Boogie about the heart!" Shock said.
"B-But you guys said..." Barrel was cut off.
"You should be ashamed!" Shock yelled.
"But it wasn't my fault..." Barrel said.
"Just listen, you three. We really don't have time for this. Can you tell us where Oogie and the heart are?" Arthur asked.
"We can't tell you." Lock said.
"Then I guess we'll have to do this the hard way." Amity said, summoning her Abomination. "Now, last chance. Tell us where Oogie and the heart are." Amity said.
"Or what?" Shock asked.
"Or what?" Amity asked, smirking, as her Abomination covers her entirely, becoming a monster. "OR I'LL GLADLY CHOP YOUR LITTLE HEADS OFF, ONE-BY-ONE AND AFTER THAT, I'LL FEED YOUR HEADS TO THE BEASTS!" Abomination-Amity threatened, making the trio shake in fear.
"What?" Twilight asked.
"Poyo..." Kirby said scared.
"Gawrsh, that was REALLY scary..." Goofy said.
"SO, WHAT'S IT GONNA BE?!" Abomination-Amity asked, summoning a sword.
"Wait, wait, wait! We'll talk! There's a lever that unlocks Oogie's torture chamber!" Lock said, pointing at a lever in the corner.
"Thank you." Arthur said, pulling the lever, as Amity gets her Abomination off her.
"Well, that was fun. I should do this to Ed and Em more often when they annoy me." Amity said.
"Wow, Amity, you oughta teach me how to do that." Maka said.
"Only if you teach me to do that chop when I get annoyed." Amity said.
"Deal." Maka said, smiling.
"Well, now we know the heart's with Oogie, so we need to find him next." Robin said.
"Agreed. I know where the torture chamber is. You three stay here and I'll decide your punishment later." Jack said, as they leave the playroom.
"Jack, you said you know where the torture chamber is?" Goofy asked.
"Yes. It's at the bottom of the manor. Follow me!" Jack said.
The group make their way through the manor to find Oogie and they find a lift and use it to take them downwards to the bottom of the manor, where they find a green door with the face of Oogie Boogie on it.
"This is the way to the torture chamber?" Twilight asked.
"Yes." Jack answered.
"Then in we go!" Sora said, as they go for the door, taking them to a different room.
(Torture Chamber)
The group arrive at the torture chamber, which appears to be a casino roulette wheel with many deadly weapons and they see someone at the other side and it's Oogie Boogie with the heart.
"Well, well, well, look what the black cat dragged in! Jack Skellington!" Oogie said, smiling evilly.
"Wait, YOU'RE Oogie?!" Soul asked.
"You're 1,000 percent correct, boy!" Oogie said.
"You don't even appear scary." Twilight said.
"No, you're more like a sack of garbage." Amity said, making the group laugh.
"Look here, missy! NOBODY makes a joke outta me!" Oogie yelled.
"Enough of this! Give us back the heart, Oogie!" Jack yelled.
"Oh, you want it? Well, come on over and get it!" Oogie said, putting the heart into his sack body.
"Did he just...?" Katara asked disgusted.
"Ugh, I wish I didn't see that..." Maka said, also disgusted.
"I think I'm gonna be sick..." Arthur gagged.
"Ah, c'mon, didn't gross me out." Soul said.
"Hahahahahaha! Now, let's see if I can get their attention! Oh, Heartless!" Oogie called, but only two Gargoyles appear.
"Wow, only two?" Twilight asked.
"That's pathetic." Tor said.
"This is it? Nobody disrespects ME! NOBODY!" Oogie shouted.
"Well, good to know you suck!" Soul said.
"Give us that heart, ya fat sack of maggots!" Maka yelled.
"You stupid BRAT! You'll pay for THAT!" Oogie shouted, as he pulls a lever, sending the group into the roulette pit.
(Boss Theme: Squirming Evil)
(Information: Defeat Oogie Boogie!)
The Gargoyles attack the group with their wings, only for Arthur to aerial slash with Excalibur followed by an aerial flipping slash while Sora aerial slashes with Kingdom Key followed by an aerial spin slash while Twilight casts Attract while Donald casts Thundara while Goofy uses Rocket while Tor uses Sky Dance while Amity summons an Abomination fist for an uppercut while Kirby uses Final Cutter while Katara aerial water whips while Tod uses Tackle while Maka uses Scythe Wheel while Robin shoots four arrows while Jack casts Fira and they defeat the Gargoyles, but Oogie starts running while buttons are glowing with colors.
"Hey, guys, I got an idea; we should try and press a switch where Oogie's at." Arthur said.
"That's what I was thinking." Twilight said.
"Great thinking." Sora said.
The group chase after Oogie and press a switch at his location, making the section of the wheel rise up to confront Oogie.
"Gotcha!" Katara said.
"Get away!" Oogie yelled, slapping the group.
Arthur delivers four slashes with Excalibur followed by using Crystallia's crystal magic to unleash crystals while Sora diagonal slashes with Kingdom Key followed by Blitz while Donald casts Fira while Twilight unleashes magic orbs and sends them to attack while Goofy bashes with his shield while Tor horizontal slashes with his sword while Amity shoots three pink fireballs while Kirby uses Hammer Spin while Katara double water whips while Robin uses Arrow Barrage while Tod uses Bite while Maka uses Scythe Throw while Jack attacks with his bone fists, but after enough attacks, Oogie sends the group back to the roulette pit.
Oogie throws three dice, which land on the wheel pit, making a buzzsaw come out and it starts flying all over the chamber to attack the group, who dodge, but Oogie throws explosive dice to try and get the group, who dodge the exploding dice and they see Oogie running away again, so the group try to keep up with him and manage to press another glowing switch at Oogie's location, making the section rise to confront Oogie again.
"Ugh, go away!" Oogie yelled, trying to smack the group again.
Arthur uses Mjolnir and slams Excalibur on the ground to unleash magic waves while Sora uses Strike Raid and throws his Keyblade four times while Donald casts Thundara while Goofy uses Charge while Twilight casts Gale while Tor uses Sword Spin while Tod uses Tackle while Amity uses her Abomination to use Shoulder Tackle while Kirby uses Hammer Throw while Katara uses Ice Rain while Robin uses Arrow Cyclone while Maka uses Scythe-nado while Jack casts Blizzara, but after enough attacks, Oogie sends the group back to the roulette pit, only for Arthur to cast Voltra while Sora casts Thundara to strike the bag of bugs.
Oogie throws more dice at the group and as it lands, a giant scythe wheel comes down and starts spinning, but the group jump over it to dodge it, as Oogie throws more explosive dice, which the group dodge again and Oogie starts running off, only for the group to keep following him and they hit another glowing switch to make the section rise up to Oogie, who tries to slap at the group.
Arthur vertical slashes with Excalibur followed by Crescent Slash and then casts Quakra while Sora delivers two 360 slashes with Kingdom Key followed by a spinning slash and then uses Ripple Drive while Donald casts Blizzara while Goofy uses Tornado while Twilight casts Blazra while Tod uses Growl Tor uses Dancing Blade while Amity uses her Abomination to create two hammers and bashes with them while Kirby multi punches followed by a hammer swing while Katara uses Soak while Robin uses Arrow Rain while Maka uses Reaper Dance while Jack delivers a sliding kick, only for Oogie to send the group down again.
"Nobody'll make a joke outta me!" Oogie yelled, throwing more dice, making the scythe wheel come back down, but it starts bouncing up and down.
The group start dodging the bouncing scythe wheel, only for Oogie to throw more dice and then throws more explosive dice, but the group dodge the dice, as well as the bouncing scythe wheel, but Oogie throws more dice and uses a healing machine to heal his damage and starts running off, only for the group to chase after him again and they press the next glowing switch to reach up to confront Oogie.
Oogie tries to smack at the group, only for Jack to cast Fira while Maka delivers four slashes with her scythe while Robin uses Windmill Bow while Katara triple water whips and then sends out three water blasts while Kirby double swings his hammer while Amity summons two Abomination fists, which transform into axes and they slice to attack while Tor diagonal slashes with his sword followed by a shield bash while Twilight shoots magic bolts while Goofy bashes with his shield while Donald casts Earthra while Sora uses Sonic Blade while Arthur uses Cyclone Blade and after enough attacks, they finish off Oogie Boogie, as his sack opens, revealing many bugs, as they fall to the lower levels of the chamber.
"Okay, gross..." Katara said.
"Agreed." Maka said.
"Tch, girls..." Soul said, making Maka use her Maka Chop on him.
Oogie's sack deflates and lays on the ground and the group see the heart, as well as the final bug that crawls, but it falls to the lower levels and struggles to get back up.
"So, the heart was a failure after all..." Jack said sadly.
"So, Meta Knight was right..." Arthur said, as they leave the torture chamber.
Unknowing to them, the Darkest Faerie appears and looks down at the final bug.
"So, they believe they've won, but I think a nice little trick should slow them down a bit." The Darkest Faerie said.
The group leave the manor and make their way back to town.
"Sorry your Halloween was ruined, Jack." Maka said.
"It's not your fault. I thought I could control the Heartless, but I was wrong..." Jack said.
"I guess no one can control the Heartless." Robin said.
"Well, let's..." Tor was cut off by a quake.
"What?!" Donald asked.
"What's goin' on?" Goofy asked.
The group turn around to find Oogie is now giant and is now part of his manor.
"Holy crap!" Soul said shocked.
"H-How did he get so big...?" Arthur asked.
"Poyo!" Kirby said, pointing at dark globs all over the manor.
"Huh? It looks like Oogie's drawing power from those dark orbs. They must be what's brimming the power of darkness!" Twilight said.
"So, we gotta destroy 'em, right?" Sora asked.
"Yep." Robin said.
'Let's do this before things get worse." Jack said.
"Right, c'mon!" Maka said.
(Boss Theme: Destiny's Force)
(Information: Destroy the dark orbs and defeat Oogie Boogie once and for all!)
The group go down to confront the giant Oogie Manor and start going for the dark orbs, only for the giant house to shoot fireballs, but Arthur casts Hydro to create a water barrier to protect against the fireballs and they go for the first orb. Arthur slashes with Excalibur while Sora slashes with Kingdom Key while Donald casts Fira while Twilight casts Voltra while Goofy bashes with his shield while Tor uses Sword Thrust while Amity uses her Abomination to use Hammer Fist while Kirby uses Hammer Somersault while Katara water whips while Robin shoots three arrows while Tod uses Tackle while Maka slashes with her scythe while Jack attacks with his bone fists and they destroy the first dark orb.
The group keep climbing up the manor, only for the house to try and shake the group off, but they remain and keep moving to find more dark orbs and they later find the second dark orb with Arthur casting Blazra while Sora casts Fira while Donald Earthra while Twilight unleashes magic orbs while Goofy uses Charge while Tor triple slashes with his sword while Amity shoots pink fireballs while Kirby uses Final Cutter while Katara shoots three ice daggers while Robin uses Windmill Bow while Tod uses Skullbash while Maka uses Scythe Wheel while Jack casts Thundara and they destroy the second dark orb.
As the group go for the next dark orb, many Gargoyle Heartless appear to stop them, only for the group to ignore them and keep finding the next dark orb and they later find the third dark orb and Arthur triple slashes with Excalibur while Sora vertical slashes with Kingdom Key while Donald casts Blizzara while Goofy uses Tornado while Twilight casts Blazra while Tor diagonal slashes with his sword while Amity uses her Abomination to strike with its spiked fists while Kirby uses Hammer Spin while Katara uses Soak while Robin uses Arrow Cyclone while Tod uses Bite while Maka uses Reaper Dance while Jack casts Fira, destroying the third dark orb.
The group keep climbing to find the next dark orb, but more Gargoyles appear and attack, but the group fight them off and keep climbing and they find the next dark orb and Jack delivers his sliding kick attack while Maka uses Scythe-nado while Robin uses Arrow Rain while Katara slashes with her ice blades while Kirby uses Stone while Amity unleashes a giant pink fireball while Tor uses Dancing Blade while Twilight unleashes magic blades while Tod attacks with his stick while Goofy bashes with his shield while Donald casts Fira while Sora triple slashes with Kingdom Key followed by Ripple Drive while Arthur delivers four slashes with Excalibur and then uses Magic Pulse and they destroy the final dark orb.
The manor starts to crumble, making the group jump off and watch Oogie Manor crumble and fall to pieces and later, the entire house is in ruins and Oogie Boogie is no more and Arthur's and Twilight's Attract magic upgrade to Attractra while Sora's and Donald's Gravity upgrade to Gravira.
"And goodbye, Sack of Maggots!" Soul said.
"Look!" Goofy said, pointing at a giant Keyhole on the ground.
Sora uses his Keyblade to lock the Keyhole, saving Halloween Town from the darkness and just then, a purple Faerie Heart appears and it flies for Excalibur.
"What a pity. Oh, well. No one will ever miss him." The Darkest Faerie said, disappearing in darkness.
Meanwhile in the dark chamber, Dr. Facilier, Maleficent, and Gideon watch the group in Halloween Town.
"Ugh, what an idiot! Remind me again, why'd we recruit him?" Gideon asked.
"A very good question, Gideon. Oogie was not only a fool, but a coward as well. He paid the price with his life." Dr. Facilier said.
"No matter. The pieces are falling into place. The stage is almost set. The wheels that are now in motion cannot be stopped." Maleficent said.
"Yes, indeed, my dear." Dr. Facilier said.
"Still, those darn heroes of light are becomin' a thorn in my side!" Gideon yelled, slamming his fists against the table.
"Worry not. It will only be a matter of time before they're dealt with. I don't need the cards to fortell Arthur's and Sora's fate." Dr. Facilier said.
"Arthur's fate may as well serve a similar one to Uther Pendragon's." Maleficent said.
"Tell me, Maleficent. You've met him before, yes?" Dr. Facilier asked.
"Indeed. He was first enemy I've dealt with before Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. As those three have suffered their fate, Uther suffered rather much worse." Maleficent said.
"Care to explain how that warrior ended up outta the picture?" Gideon asked.
"Uther's fater was a very horrid one, as he was struck down during his battle against a being of darkness, vanishing from the Realm of Light, along with his pathetic heart, never to be seen again. This was after his own son was born. Quite a shame I could not get my revenge on him, but young Arthur will have to do." Maleficent said.
"And down the road, who's to say what'll happen to Arthur?" Gideon asked, smiling evilly.
"I suppose we'll see. It's destined they'll be coming to this castle very soon. Both Arthur and Sora shall fall to darkness in due time." Dr. Facilier said.
"Yes, we shall have to wait." Maleficent said.
Meanwhile, the group return to Dr. Finkelstein's lab, where Sally is waiting for them.
"Sally, why didn't I listen to you?" Jack asked, hanging his head down.
"Don't feel bad, Jack. We'll come up with another plan for Halloween. Next time, we'll do it together." Sally said, taking Jack's hands and the Pumpkin King smiles at Sally's words.
"So, what now?" Arthur asked.
"Well, I hate to do this, but I'll have to cancel the Heartless Halloween for now... Do come back anytime, fellows! The next Halloween will be the most horrible yet!" Jack said.
"I am SOOOO coming back next time!" Maka said.
"Of course..." Soul said, making the Meister Maka Chop him.
"Hmm, emotion, memory... We put in ALL the ingredients! What else do you need for a heart?! What even IS a heart?! I can't figure it out!" Dr. Finkelstein said.
"Wish I could help you, Doc, but we're gonna have to get going." Twilight said.
"We'll see you next Halloween, Jack." Sora said.
"Goodbye, friends! Happy Halloween!" Jack said.
The group leave the lab and head back for the yard.
"I'm really gonna miss this place. I feel at home here." Maka said.
"I know what you mean, Maka. This world reminds me a lot of the Boiling Isles..." Amity said.
"Don't worry. We'll come back here somehow. I promise." Katara said.
"Right now, we gotta continue if we're gonna find your missing friends." Arthur said and they nod, as they make their way for the Gummi ship and leave Halloween Town.
Here's Chapter 24 and I just can't get enough of doing a Halloween Town chapter, as it is one of my fave worlds of the series. That's it and time to be moving on with the adventure once again.
