Weeks later.
Exterior: Quel, atmosphere.
Arriving with the 501st, to rescue Aayla from a fleet of Imperials, Anakin, Starkiller and Ahsoka descended towards her heavily damaged cruiser, in an LAAT.
Interior: Aayla's flagship, bridge.
As a monitor beeped, an officer alerted, "Our shields are gone!"
To herself, Aayla said, "Hurry, Skywalker, hurry, Star. We're depending on you."
Looking out the window to see the evac team, another officer informed, "General, Starkiller's here."
"And none too soon. We're entering the atmosphere." sighed Aayla.
Exterior: Quel, atmosphere.
Interior: gunship.
The pilot said, "Imperial Jet troopers incoming."
Starkiller called, "They're boarding ner Buir's ship!"
Anakin ordered a clone, "Take care of that bucket head.
Star and I'll be on board Aayla's cruiser."
Cautious, Ahsoka began, "Master, are you sure that's the wisest thing-" but Skywalker and Starkiller had already leapt out of the ship, and began cutting down the bucket heads, mid-descent.
Interior: Aayla's flagship.
As the young Generals carved their way through a battalion of clankers and Stormtroopers, Aayla asked, "Nice entrance, you two.
How do you plan to get us out of this mess?"
"We have a ship docking in the lower hangar as we speak," answered Ani while he, Ahsoka, Starkiller, Bly, and some troopers ran down the hallways, then made another turn.
"Hold it." said a Sith trooper who was outnumbered until a door opened revealing a platoon of reinforcements, but they were swiftly destroyed by lightning.
Reaching the corridor to the extraction ship, Ahsoka said, "We made it."
"Gangway locked in, sir." said a pilot, via comms.
As a massive explosion approached them, Starkiller shouted, "It's too late!"
Galen and Anakin Force pushed their companions through a door which closed behind them, then turned and used Force barrier against the blaze, but dozens of additional explosions from all around them caught them off-guard, knocking them through a blast door, landing on the floor.
Partly opening the damaged door to see her friends unconscious, Ahsoka gasped, "Skyguy! Starguy!" before she and Aayla picked them up with Rex & Bly's help.
"Are you guys all right down there?" called the co-pilot, from the cockpit.
Approaching the docking tube, Aayla ordered, "Ahsoka, we need to leave now. Hurry!
Get them on the ship."
Interior: Republic consular-class cruiser.
As the evac team boarded, Iden pressed a button, "Deflector shields ready," and released the gangway.
Via view-screen, Yularen said, "You'll never be able to dock with our ship in the middle of this battle."
"We have no choice, Admiral.
Anakin's condition may be critical, and Star's passed out." explained Aayla, "We must get them on board the Resolute."
Mildly frustrated, Yularen asked her, "Are all Jedi so reckless?"
"Just the fun ones," answered the sexy Rutian before the ship abruptly started moving, and an alarm triggered.
"The hyperdrive's been activated!" alerted the pilot.
"Shut it down," ordered Bly, in a worried tone.
"I can't. The controls are malfunctioning."
Via comms, Yularen inquired, "General Secura, what's going on?"
"We're going into hyperspace. Detach! Detach!" exclaimed the pilot as they managed to get free just in time.
Shortly thereafter.
Interior: consular-class cruiser, med-bay.
Aayla told Ahsoka, "I need you with Commanders Bly and Versio up on the bridge right now."
"I should stay. Iden and Bly don't need my help. Anakin does."
"You can help Anakin by getting this ship to safety."
Interior: consular-class cruiser, bridge.
Bly informed, "General Secura, we have a problem."
"What is it, Bly?"
'In our haste to escape, the Navi computer's coordinates were inputted incorrectly.
And we're headed right for a star. The navigation computer is completely fried, and we've lost our shields."
As he appeared on the bridge, Starkiller ordered, "Shut down all power circuits to reset the coordinates."
Ahsoka gasped, "But, that'll cut off Anakin's life support."
"I don't like it any more than you do.
But that's a risk we'll have to take."
Pilot said, "We're switching off primary power units."
"Cutting it awfully close," said the co-pilot.
"Ready to shut off auxiliary power. On three. One, two, three."
As they disengaged the hyperdrive, the now alarmed co-pilot gasped, "We're out of- ah, karabast! Systems are all fried!
We can't alter our trajectory or anything!"
Donning his helmet, Starkiller said, "I'll do it manually.
May the Force be with me." and used Force teleport to get on the front exterior of the ship.
"What the hell is he doing!?" asked the alarmed clones.
"Is the General insane?" asked Iden, "On second thought, don't answer that."
Ahsoka groaned, "Ugh! He's either got a death wish or thinks he's invincible.
More likely the latter."
Exterior: consular-class cruiser, space.
Standing side-on in front of the cockpit, Starkiller created a barrier and shield of pure light side energy to protect the ship and himself, whilst using electric judgement to fully restore power to the ship's shields, from the star which they passed straight through, whilst he maintained the hull integrity.
And kept the ship at a safe temperature while using telekinesis to both fly and navigate the ship, altering its trajectory.
Interior: consular-class cruiser.
"What the hell is happening!?" exclaimed Rex as everyone closed and shielded their eyes.
"Don't ask, just go with it," replied Silas.
Realising they weren't in the clear yet as they came out of the star, Ahsoka gasped, "By some miracle, we survived that.
But we're definitely going to hit that planet,"
Exterior: Maridun, atmosphere.
The ship rapidly descended into orbit and gravitational pull, then the atmosphere, coming in hot.
Getting low on energy, Starkiller quickly used the Force to push the pilots further back into the ship and slow its descent, then collapsed and fell off the ship's exterior while one of the engines fell off shortly before the ship roughly crashed on the surface.
Marek's body landed near the ship.
Exterior: Maridun, crash site.
As the crew, except Ani, were conscious, Aayla ordered, "Everyone out!"
As Ahsoka retrieved Anakin from the ship while Iden brought Galen's body to a makeshift camp, they discovered the Nulls had stowed away.
Tano sighed, "Well, we made it. Galen and Anakin are still alive.
Not sure how on the former.
I'm just glad Skyguy wasn't awake to see that landing."
"He would have been proud." lightly praised Aayla.
"I've certainly perfected the art of almost getting my Master killed," sighed Snips who threw off the remains of her boots, "Not to mention my boyfriend too,"
"Knowing those two, they won't stay down for long."
After checking the extent of the damages, Hunter said, "Good news is the ship's not completely destroyed.
We can restore the power with the spare parts, but it won't fly."
Bly observed, "Looks like we at least have shelter."
As a partly transparent Galen got up while his body lay still on the ground, everyone gasped in fright.
"What the kriff?" asked Iden.
A startled Ahsoka asked, "Does anyone else see a ghost?"
Alarmed herself, Aayla asked, "Star? Are you dead?"
Looking down at his body, Galen replied, "My body needs to heal.
This is an Astral form or Force projection, I think."
After blinking to make sure he wasn't hallucinating, Rex said, "Whatever it is, it's giving me the creeps,"
"Anakin doesn't have much time. We have to find help tonight." said Aayla as she checked Skywalker's condition.
Ahsoka suggested, "Okay, you, Hunter and Bly go south. Rex, Iden and I'll stay here with Anakin and Galen, and I mean Galen's body.
The ghost can go with you too,"
Aayla replied, "No, Ahsoka.
In order to get help quickly, we need to work together."
"I can't leave him. I know if I was hurt, he'd never leave me behind." protested Tano.
Galen sighed, "I know this is hard, cyare.
But Ani has to stay here, and we have to go now."
Aayla added, "There's nothing more we can do for him.
We must do all we can to get off this planet.
As a Jedi, it is your duty to do what is best for the group."
Finding something by a nearby tree, Bly held it up, "General Secura, look.
We're not the only ones here on this planet."
"There must be something or someone here." said Hunter, "Something at least intelligent enough to draw pictures."
As they set up camp, Iden asked, "General Galen, where exactly are we going?"
"To go find the people who live on this planet," answered Galen, "Also, we don't know who's here so set for stun.
For all we know, the population and wildlife will freak out if they see soldiers and guns.
I think Iden, Echo, Fives, Nulls, and Silas should stay here with Rex since there's two wounded vode to protect."
After some discussion with his fellow Nulls who'd stowed away, Prudii, the 5th Null-ARC, nodded, "We're no bodyguards, but we'll do this for you, ori'vod."
Unable to stop himself, Hunter mentioned to Secura, "When I imagined being stranded on an exotic planet with you, this wasn't quite what I had in mind."
"Were you dreaming of the two of us alone, naked, and getting intimate?
Maybe on a tropical island like the ones on Scarif?
Were you thinking about it while you were in the shower?" teasingly asked Aayla, already knowing the answer.
"I know it was inappropriate of me, but yes, I was… a lot."
"Thank you for being honest with me.
You're not the first or only person to fantasize about me, and you won't be the last."
"Does this make things awkward?"
"Only if I overhear you moaning my name in your sleep." teased Secura, "or if your little soldier's always standing at attention whenever we're near each other." making everyone but Galen snicker, "and you'd better not try copping a feel, or sneaking a peek."
"Kal'Buir, Jango'Buir and Ti'Buir raised me better than that."
Galen groaned, "Please tell me I didn't just hear a vod'ika tell ner Buir that he fantasizes about her in the shower."
Aayla apologised, "Sorry, Star'ika, it happened," then pointed out, "but you don't display such discomfort when I talk to Kit about certain private things."
"Kit isn't ner vod'ika, and he's been your lover since before we met.
Also, you two have never discussed topics like shower fantasies in front of me."
"Good point."
"Where are you going to find the locals?
We have no idea where they are," asked Fives, getting back on topic.
Examining the picture, Ahsoka noted, "It seems to me that the people we're looking for live near giant trees."
"Very perceptive, Ahsoka." praised Secura.
Ahsoka knelt down to Anakin, "Be strong, Skyguy, just a little bit longer." then kissed Galen's temple, "be back soon, love."
"It is time to go," informed Aayla as she gently placed a hand on Tano's shoulder.
Rex assured, "Don't worry, Ahsoka. We'll take good care of them."
"Rex, keep your locator on. We'll hopefully be back by daybreak with whoever or whatever lives on this planet," instructed Aayla.
"Got it, General." acknowledged Rex, "Hey, Ahsoka, may the Force be with you."
"Come on, let's move out," said Galen as he, Aayla, Iden, Hunter, Ahsoka and Bly departed from the camp.
Exterior: Maridun, tall grassed fields.
"I can still sense your worry for Anakin, your attachment to him," noted Secura.
"It's just that I get so confused sometimes.
It's forbidden for Jedi to form attachments, yet we are supposed to be compassionate." explained Tano.
"It is nothing to be ashamed of, Ahsoka.
I went through the same process when I was your age with my own master."
"Really? You did?" asked Galen.
"As you know, Quinlan is a father to me.
However, I realized that for the greater good, I'll have to let him go when the time comes.
Don't lose a thousand lives just to save one."
"Maybe. But that doesn't mean that I can't try to save Skyguy's life." softly said Ahsoka.
"I know it's hard to find the line between connection and attachment.
Especially when I have my own son."
"And he has his daughter."
"I don't see any signs of life." noted Bly before there was a snap and Hunter tackled him out of the way of a giant pod which fell down.
As the Commando helped him up, Bly appreciated, "Thanks, vod."
"No wonder it's deserted." gasped Ahsoka, "It's a death trap.
You'd have to be crazy to want to dodge those on a daily basis."
Galen observed, "Looks like the locals found a use for the pods and dragged them away."
Ahsoka's face lit up, "Then all we have to do is follow the trail.
Let's go."
Sensing fear from something nearby, Galen said to Bly and Hunter, "Lower your guns, and take off your helmets.
I sense the wildlife may mistake us for poachers, and pre-emptively act in self-defence."
Aayla noted, "I feel it too,"
Later.
Exterior: Maridun, Lurmen village.
"Pod central. We made it." said a relieved Ahsoka as they approached the village, "Hello?"
The village elder, Tee-Watt Kaa cautiously asked, "What have you come here for?"
"We are peacekeepers. Jedi from the galactic Republic.
Our ship crashed a few miles away.
And two of us were very badly injured. We need your help." explained Aayla.
"Violence breeds violence. Jedi are no peacekeepers."
Ahsoka replied, "We're fighting for freedom."
"Do freedom and peace require fear and death?" questioned Tee-Watt Kaa, "We colonized this system to find solace from your wretched war.
We came here to find peace."
Hunter nodded, "Fair enough, Sir,"
"You must leave. You will only destroy what small amount of peace is left in the galaxy.
You will only bring the destruction of us,"
"Regardless of the clone wars and our part in them, we still need your help." solemnly said Aayla.
"I'm afraid I must do what's best for my people. We cannot help you." declined Tee-Watt Kaa, with a hint of regret.
"Please? Can you at least give us some medical supplies?
My Son, who's not even in his body right now, and his brother are dying," pleaded Aayla.
"I cannot ignore a plea for help.
I will send my son Wag-Too to help you.
He is a healer." permitted Kaa, "But only one Jedi may go with him. The other two must stay as insurance.
We wouldn't want a surprise attack on our village or the kidnapping of our only healer."
Galen assured, "I promise we would never do such a thing."
"And I believe you're sincere, young one," acknowledged Kaa, "But my terms still stand,"
"Understood."
"Bly, Galen's spirit, and I will stay." said Secura, "Ahsoka, go and help Anakin."
"No! The soldiers and their blasters cannot stay." firmly said Tee-Watt, "They will go with the young Togruta."
"I can handle it. I don't need help." protested Tano.
"That's not in question, cyare. We came for their help, and all they've asked in return is no soldiers in their village." replied Galen.
Aayla advised, "Be mindful of your surroundings, Ahsoka.
Hunter, Iden, Bly, make sure your blasters are still on stun.
Be careful not to provoke the fauna."
"Got it. We won't be long." acknowledged Tano.
"May the Force be with you."
Later.
Interior: Lurmen Village, hut.
As they sat down inside, Tee-Watt handed Aayla a cup of tea, "Here. It will restore your energy."
"Thank you." appreciated Aayla who mentioned, "I am sure you are aware that the Jedi did not initiate the clone wars.
Our only intention is to end it and restore peace to our galaxy."
Galen noted, "From our point of view, at least,"
"What difference does it make who started the war and who only wants to end it?" asked Kaa, "No side is free of fault.
It takes two to fight."
"It's actually three this time," interjected Galen.
"But isn't liberty worth fighting for?" asked Aayla.
"But is it worth killing for?" countered Tee-Watt, "Fighting for something doesn't necessarily mean you have to destroy everything in your path.
Only when you lay your arms down and pursue a course of nonviolence can you make this claim to me that the Jedi are peacekeepers," said Tee-Watt.
Galen pointed out, "I never said I was just a Jetii."
"Then what are you?"
"Would you believe an impulsive delinquent who routinely argues with and challenges the authority of Chancellor Palpatine, the Senate, and the Jetii Council?" asked Galen, making Aayla burst into laughter.
