Four Months Later:
Edward left a week later.
After spending the greatest week together. Going out, walking along the beach whenever we had the chance.
As promised we kept in contact. Sending emails, talking on the phone, and video calls.
He told me to move back into the house on the base when I got the chance, because he felt it to be safer, especially with Jasper, Tyler, and Jacob now living in the surrounding houses.
Unfortunately, Jasper had to finish his deployment as well, once he had gained all of the mobility in his arm and shoulder, of course.
I had moved back into the house with the help of Alice, Jasper, my mom, Rose, and Emmett, after a few days of debating. Leaving the apartment for my mother to use now.
I was also told that James confessed to trying to extort Edward, leaving him no choice but to pay him. James was currently locked away and awaiting trial for all of his crimes.
With that confession, the charges against Edward were withdrawn and his name was fully cleared. Meaning that he would need to fulfill the contract he signed, and the term of his deployment.
The contract that I had with the record label granted me enough free time to do so, sadly I had to travel a lot once those days finished. Oliver was left with my mother a lot.
I had only just been informed that the band and I were given a slot to perform out of the country. We would be headed to perform in Iraq for the soldiers as a thank you for their service for our country.
"Ma-ma-ma!" Oliver babbled as I laughed and pulled my hair up.
"Are you sure you've got everything?" My mother asked me.
I nodded as I pointed to the small duffle that sat by the bed, as Oliver rammed the walker into the wall.
"Be safe out there, cariño." She told me. (Sweetie.)
"I will." I promised her as I made my way to Oliver, bending down in front of his walker, and kissing his forehead as he swatted at my earrings. "No, baby." I cooed, "Now, behave for 'buela, okay my love? I'll be back in a few days." I promised. (grandma)
"Ma-ma-ma." He babbled with a smile.
"Yes, mama." I cooed back before I stood up, grabbed my bag and made my way out of the house.
As I left the house, my mind went the week before… and my call with Edward.
~•~•~
"I can't believe you're coming home next week." I sighed as I sat back on the couch.
He sighed, "Bella, love, I am so sorry this is happening, but I have to stay here for a few more months."
I sat up with a frown, "What? What do you mean? I thought you were due back next week?" I asked.
"Mm-mm. I have to stay for another few weeks." He said.
I swallowed hard, "Oh… then when— when is the new date then?" I asked.
"The end of September." He whispered sadly.
I took a deep breath, and tried to steady my breathing. "O-kay, then I'll see you then." I told him, quietly.
"Are you going to be okay?" He asked me after a moment.
"Mm-hmm." I whispered.
"It'll be okay, my love… we'll be okay." He reassured me.
I wiped my face, and sat up, wiping my face. "I know. I just— I just really miss you." I told him.
"I know, princess, I miss you too." He mumbled back a moment later.
We promised to talk again, the following week, the same day, the same time.
I knew we would see each other, but it killed me that the wait had to be so long.
Fifteen Hours Later:
"I cannot believe that we're actually here." Jane breathed as we stood inside the tent two officials led us to, to get some rest until the concert.
We had all taken turns using the shower, and changed.
It was hot beyond disbelief, so all of us were in shorts.
I had put on a pair of high-waist, roll hem, denim shorts, a black tank top, and button front shirred-waist kimono. Adding black my combat boots to finish the style.
"Eat something before we go out there," Garrett told me as he offered a bag of baked chips, an apple, and a ham sandwich to me.
I frowned, taking the food as I realized that I hadn't eaten since nine this morning, and it was close to seven now.
I quickly ate the food, and brushed my teeth before we headed out to the stage.
The sun was barely going down as we stepped on the stage.
"How we doing tonight?" I called.
The crowd answered in a roar, causing Kate to laugh.
"I just want to say thank you for your time and service, and for protecting our country. I hope you're all well…" I said as I gave the signal to Jane.
We began to perform a few covers by Flyleaf, Portugal. The man, and then performed 'Blue Side Of The Sky','Come Back Home', 'I Hate The Way', ending with 'I Didn't Know'.
"I think they liked it…" Kate told me excitedly as we made our way back to the tent we would be spending the night.
I nodded laughing at the look on Garrett's face as we walked.
As I was picked up from behind, causing me to squeal in surprise.
"Well, hello, beautiful." Edward whispered in my ear.
I gasp as he sets me down, and I quickly jump back into his arms, squealing as he spins me around.
"I thought you said you were in a different location." I gasped, as I wrapped my legs around his waist, and slid my hands up to the sides of his face.
"I put in a request after I found out you were coming here. The request was granted sometime yesterday, and I arrived here earlier this morning. You were amazing." He told me, sounding completely amazed.
I smiled at him before pressing my lips to his.
He had been promoted to ranks since he arrived back. Making him a Sergeant.
"Sergeant Masen?" A man called, causing him to set me down and turn abruptly, hiding me behind his back.
"Yes, sir?" He asked.
"Don't do that out here. Get back to your tent." The man said before walking away.
Edward nodded, "Yes, sir." He said before grabbing my hand and pulling me in the direction of a large tent.
He checked to make sure it was empty before he pulled me inside, and leaned down to give me a fervent kiss.
"Have you missed me?" He whispered, when we finally broke apart.
I bit my lip and nodded.
"Good." He whispered before kissing me again, this time making the room disappear around us.
When we woke up the next day, Jasper, Edward, and Mike were the officers that were tasked to get us to the airport safely.
"Bye, Bella, tell Alice I send her all my love." Jasper said after he hugged me.
I nodded, giving him a wide grin, "I will. Now take care of yourself." I told him as he smiled and stepped back.
As Jasper walked back to the humvee, Edward smiled and slowly made his way over to me again.
"You have everything?" He asked me.
I nodded with a smile as the crew that began to put the things in the plane.
"You going to be okay, princess?" He asked me, smirking as I looked up at me surprised.
He pulled me towards him, keeping his hands on my waist.
I bit back a smile, "Yes. As long as you come back home, I will." I told him.
"I will… Now, give Oliver a hug for me. I'll see you in a few more months, love." He told me.
I nodded before reaching up to kiss him, before we hugged one last time.
"I love you." I whispered.
He touched his forehead to mine, with a smile. "And… I love you. Now, take care of yourself and Oliver. I'll see you soon okay." He told me, pecking me again.
I nodded before giving him a final hug and making my way onto the plane. I slowly made my way to an empty seat by the window.
As I sat down, Kate moved to sit in the seat in the vacant seat next to mine.
"It's gonna be okay, sweetie." She told me as she gave me a side hug.
I nodded, taking a deep, and reaching up to wipe my face.
