Chapter 10: Decisions and Action

I've gained consciousness... I should go see Moon after all regardless of punching me or not, I don't blame her for a simple accident.

"Sunlight, do you know where Moon is? I need to talk to her about what happened." I asked as Sunlight gives me a concerning look.

That isn't good at all. What happened to her?

"Moon is a Gardevoir right? If so... she is loose somewhere in the wild area." Said Sharlene looking nervous.

"What! I got to find her." I said leaping off the bed as I run out of the room with Sunlight following behind me.

Moon please be safe. After what felt like hours of running I returned to the Wild Area again only to end up dosed with my clothes now drenched in water from the hard rain coming down from the sky. Whatever, what matters most is my party members.

"Sunlight can you trace Moons scent? I'm not leaving this area until I bring her back home safely!" I said as Sunlight starts running.

Nothing can fool Sunlights incredible sense of smell, thanks to her feelers she will always have a way to track any pokemon from my party. I continue to follow Sunlight's tracing until a powerful force of psychic energy keeps pushing us back. Yep, that's definitely her power alright.. no other pokemon gives this much psychic pressure other than Moon herself. We end up finding her sitting near the lake of outrage feeling angry.

"Moon? Are you okay? It's going to be okay... you didn't hurt me that much with your punch." I said trying to hold back a chuckle.

Moon doesn't respond back to me. I walk up behind her and put my left hand on her head.

"Hey... It's okay to feel upset about what happened. You don't need to beat yourself up about it. You know I'll always trust you. After all were family." I continue.

Moon slaps away my hand off her head and starts to let out a quick yell. Moon... just tell me why you are acting this way?

"You haven't gotten the picture yet? She's afraid." Said a familiar voice.

Alfred? He followed me here? He stations himself next to me.

"What do you mean she's afraid?" I asked.

"She's afraid of hurting you again. At least that's what Sally's and Sharlene's conclusion was at least." Alfred responded.

I let out a deep breath. Calm yourself Liam and think... how am I going to help Moon out with this situation? Wait a second!

"Sunlight, hug Moon with all your might!" I asked.

Sunlight's eyes light up as she leaps immediately onto Moon and latches onto her with her feelers smiling. Moon is clearly attempting to push away Sunlight only for her feelers to pin her arms down as Sunlight starts nuzzling Moon. Moon slowly gives up attempting to fight off her attempts to hug her and becomes much more relaxed.

"Remind me to never get close to your Sylveon when it wants to hug something." Said Alfred.

I wouldn't blame you on that Alfred. Her hugs take a lot of time to get use to when she uses her feelers. However, thanks to said feelers though it helps calm the hearts of people and pokemon effectively. I should look into the properties of her feelers one day.

"Moon... are you ready to talk about what happened and moving past it?" I asked as Sunlight releases Moon from her feelers.

Moon briefly dusts herself off before taking a deep breath.

"Voir..."

"Ah. It's all water under the bridge Moon. Come on now, let's get you and Sunlight out of the rain or you'll catch a cold." I said as I immediately sneeze.

Ack! That feeling is definitely Sunlights hug! It never gets old.

"Voir..."

"Don't sweat it Moon. Accidents happen to all of us. Come now, let's move on and look towards having a better day tommorow." I said as she stands up giving a weak smile.

Alfred gives out a small chuckle.

"So the rumors could be false... May I ask something? How are you capable of taking care of them in harsh environments like the wild area with minimal health care?" Asked Alfred.

Here we go again. I remember months ago being asked this by Sally, Aurea, Kabu, and now Alfred makes it four.

"I primarily focus on my party getting a healthy amount of rest as much as I can provide. I also use a lot of medicine if they ever get sick or feel under the weather. I would love to use a Pokemon Centre, but due to having a branded criminal trainer card and someone bribing the staff in Galar they not only charge me to treat them every time but price 35,000 dollars per pokemon. Someone was clearly bribing the staff there. Annoying honestly." I said ranting.

Alfred looks dumbfounded about the explanation.

"Hm... That is rather a very difficult situation indeed." Alfred commented as I feel familiar hands around my shoulders and a head placed behind my back.

Moon... are you hiding behind me again? Well some things may never change don't they? It's at least safe to say she heard me out at least for now. I should probably talk to her more later to help her relax and just be herself again.

"Interesting. Is she uncomfortable around other humans?" Asked Alfred.

I nod, "She has anxiety around other humans. It will take a little time for her to get use to others."

"I see. Now that it seems she is going to follow you again, we should get out of the rain. I'll take you to Hammerlocke gym." Said Alfred.

I nod as we begin to head to Hammerlocke gym. After a good hour walk to Hammerlocke city, we headed towards the stadium to find it packed as usual. I guess another exhibition match is going on today at the stadium. Entering the reception area, Alfred leads me to the locker room which currently is unoccupied.

"There's a shower at the west door. Feel free to use it." Said Alfred sitting on the bench.

After a rather lengthy shower, I got dressed, and then finished tending to my rain drenched pokemon. Thankfully none of them got a cold or a flu. Happy and healthy as they can be. Shortly, I see Alfred return to the locker room with a slightly bitter looking Sharlene.

"Hmph, I got thrashed again! Goodra must be feeling bad about losing. I wouldn't blame him if that was true since, I let him down." Said Sharlene.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion. Normally gym trainers and gym leaders would shrug the loss off and work on improving but just like Aurea, Sharlene seems to take losing seriously.

"Sharlene, taking a lost here and there is not the end of the world. It is our job after all to challenge and improve the skill of trainers who encounter and challenge us." Said Alfred trying to comfort Sharlene.

Ah, that sounds familiar completely.

"It's not just an ordinary trainer though Alfred... I was facing Raihan. I got the opportunity to fight him after working hard with my party to win a lot. I was only able to take out two of his pokemon. So humiliating." Said Sharlene bitterly.

Is defeating Raihan a goal of hers? So even the gym trainers are as competitive as the gym leaders themselves? I guess it's healthy to have a goal to work towards... unlike one forced upon.

"Ah don't sweat it Sharlene, you'll get another chance to challenge him." Said Alfred giving a light smile.

Sharlene responds with a smile, "Alright then, we will just have to work harder to prepare for the rematch!" Said Sharlene now filled with energy.

Well that's good for them at least. Now I should repay the kindness and then go set up camp for the night.

"Liam... I need a favour from you if you don't mind." Asked Alfred.

"Sure. What do you need me to do?" I asked.

"You see we need someone to handle our gym pokemon for the night. The gym's staff are extremely understaffed at the moment due to some punks affecting other gym challengers. So Raihan and Gabrielle asked me to get two other trainers who were available and have them help out." Said Alfred.

So it's just another day of wild area research except this time without wild pokemon this time. Sounds simple enough. Illuminate and Canon would be the most efficient in this situation since, Canon being a gentle dragon would make cooperation with harsher dragon types easier and Illuminate can back her up for any situation become dire.

"Alright where to?" I asked.

"Well that's a refresher. Usually me and Alfred are the ones to tend to the gym pokemon. It gets kinda lonely when your only company sir grumpy over here." Said Sharlene giggling.

Er.. that may have not been the best thing to say Sharlene. I mean Alfred is right next to you and is by the looks of it ain't happy about your comments.

"May I remind you Sharlene that I'm your older brother and legal guardian right? Better be careful with your next words or else you'll be handling The snow group." Said Alfred grinning.

Siblings huh? They seem to get along fine including good old fashion poking fun of each other and cheeky comments. They don't seem to be bad people at all. Kind of wish I went back to the old days when me and my sister got along. That sadly is now in the past... I can't return to it at all.

"Sorry bout that... We just need to wait for the last trainer to arrive and we can get started." Said Sharlene seemingly joyful again.

Well that shouldn't be a problem. I can just tend to my remaining pokemon while we wait for the last trainer to arrive. Illuminate can use a message around his mouth cheeks so that he doesn't overload on electrical energy again. Canon could use this opportunity to meet other dragons and socialize more. Winter would probably enjoy an environment that could fit her without it being the wild area. Crescendo would likely happily sing his heart out. Moon is thankfully calming down a little more but, I still have a feeling she is still down about the stone situation. Sunlight is just enjoying the extra attention she's been getting from other trainers recently; I wouldn't blame her for that one.

"So, what pokemon do you two have anyway? I'm pretty curious." I asked.

Sharlene hums for a couple of seconds before she returns with a smile on her face, "Goodra, Pelipper, Galvantula, Milotic, Vaporeon, and Whiscash."

Alfred clears this throat before listing his pokemon, "Noivern, Dracovish, Drapion, Sandaconda, Gigalith, and Conkledurr."

Both of their teams are pretty interesting and also rather powerful for that matter in competitive matches. I should be careful if I have to cross paths with them in the ultra cup and the masters cup.

"Based off what we both saw from your competitive matches here in Galar you seem to have some talent in overwhelming your opponents with minimal numbers. Many trainers here in Galar believe that you only have three pokemon alone just because the only two you use in battle are Raichu and Gardevoir and they often see you with Sylveon by your side. Personally I believe that they were initially the only two pokemon who could fight in your party." Explained Alfred.

Oh... Oh... That is definitely worrisome if he caught on to that rather quickly. Though a lot has changed since challenging trainers to qualify for the ultra cup. This time most of my pokemon can fight.

"Back when I had to challenge tougher opponents to get into the Ultra Cup it was only Illuminate who wanted to get into battling. Winter was not much of a fan of battling unless she felt like fighting and Sunlight was dealing with a permanent injury as an Eevee that is becoming more stabilized thanks to evolving. When Moon joined she made sure to learn to fight so that Illuminate didn't have to handle all battles himself." I explained.

"Respecting the wishes of your pokemon. A rare trait nowdays especially where you come from. Heard they're still cleaning up the mess dealt by Plasma." Said Alfred.

Plasma... haven't heard of them for a long time. I don't even want to think about that group to begin with. It was...

"A mistake you say? Perhaps even holding on to lingering regrets from your own past? Afraid even that the efforts you make could end up in failure?"

You again?

"Yes me again... who did you expect to be able to read and speak to your mind? Moon? Sunlight? Mere child's play to be honest compare to the other pokemon out there yet to be discovered."

What brings you back here?

"When I see doubt in compassionate trainers it's my duty to help guide them. I was alerted to a matter that you ran into the lake of outrage to try to calm down Moon... a pokemon affected by a man made object."

I see... so that object has a way to release inner rage or negative traits of a pokemon?

"Not exactly. The object was made by someone attempting to harness the hidden power of pokemon. A rather dangerous game to force it out wouldn't you say?"

I haven't heard of anything about a hidden power for pokemon other than a third ability on some pokemon out there.

"Truth be told there was an ancient power that was once used by the trainers of old but was later outlawed for the mere fact that no human in recorded history was capable of reaching it's potential without their pokemon dying or suffering the severe negative side effects of pushing that hidden power to it's absolute limits. Trainers in the modern era aren't even aware of it's existence outside of those in the dragonic guardians bloodline."

So... why do you tell me this?

"You have the capability to reaching the power considered lost to time. As the person who must reach out to the seven trainers we require that you and your pokemon will master this ability to it's fullest potential. Consider this power the test to your bonds."

Are you sure you want to pick me for this? You know if I lose just once during the ultra cup or the master cup that I won't have them anymore due to the stipulation right?

"Do not worry. You can overcome the odds. The tools you need will be hiding within your bag. Use it to unite the seven trainers together."

Wait! There gone. I check my bag to see if anything change only to pull out a light blue flower pin radiating with very powerful energy. From the looks of the source, it appears to shine brighter the closer it is to Sunlight.

"Whoa! Where did you get such a cute pin?" Asked Sharlene.

"I'm... not sure myself even." I said as I put the pin on Sunlights centre bow.

Sunlight seems to not mind the pin. The radiating energy seems to have lowered down after the pin was applied to her bow. After a short wait a familiar face entered the locker room.

"Sorry I'm late I... eh..." Stopped Aurea.

Aurea? Well it's good to know that she is unharmed after I got my face punched in.

"Good we're all here, we can now get the job done." Said Alfred leading us to where the task is.

Suffice to say it was not an easy time nor was it a breeze to get through. The more docile pokemon in the gym like Pelipper, Goodra's, and Starmies were easy to handle and listened with minimal problems. The more prideful pokemon like Noivern, Gigalith, and Abomasnow on the other hands were not afraid to attack me or Sunlight for that matter, luckily Sharlene was able to bail me and those pokemon out before Sunlight had to fight or use her aura to decrease tension and aggression. Then there were the playful types... oh man where they hard to keep down when attempting to wash them. After three and a half hours we manage to complete the task of at least giving them the care and needs for the night.

"I haven't felt this tired since trying to befriend Penelope back in Unova." I said resting on a bench.

Penelope was a Petilil who I had to convince to join my team for a whole week after realizing that her health would've keep deteriorating if she didn't get the help needed. A very stubborn pokemon until, Solar manage to convince her that if she kept trying to stay where we found her that she was going to die from an illness. Thankfully, she starting listening and we managed to get her the care she needed to be healthy.

I can hear a bucket drop as Alfred started looking visibility livid. Sharlene seemed to be worried and Aurea shocked while I'm confused. What's with the reactions they were all giving? It was until, I finally saw what gave them the reaction. There was a person hiding her face behind a hoodie with only their light pink eyes visible. She wore what would be the average casual wear for a Unovan trainer, Jeans, Hoodies, and running shoes. Next to her was the one person I didn't expect to show their face here at all.

"I've heard the rumours. Reshiram was found in the temple of the ancients. What have you done to him?"

I've been waiting for this for a long time.

"So after 3 years now you decide to show up to my face N?" I said trying my hardest not to lose my temper.

"...We can handle that situation later, I need to know what happened to Reshiram's original owner?" Said N.

"No! We handle this now. Why in the ever loving hell did you abandon me for N? I gave up alot just for you and even lost my best friend just so you could become a hero... and this is the end result? Treated nearly like garbage so horribly that I had to run to another region just for sanity sake. Do you know the harm you've caused to some of us N? All for it to come to nothing in the end? Tell me... what was the purpose in the end? Tell me!" I yelled losing my temper.

In the end, I still can't control my rage. I don't even know anymore if it's justified or even the right answer to go for? It just felt... natural to let it all out. N sighed and taking a deep breath.

"I never thought that someone else outside of Hilbert was attempting to tame Reshiram until I heard about the village fire. I never knew about what happened to you or your partner Solar during the fire until Hilbert challenged me in the end to prove the one true hero... that's when I learned what truly happened during the situation. I'm sure even an apology won't do anything but anger you further. All I can do is prevent what happened to you and other members of the previous team Plamsa from occurring to other trainers." Explained N.

"Oh we are FAR past apologizing N. I'm already livid just seeing you here acting like the past is in the past asking me casually about someone I haven't even seen in years nor even knew where he was. I'd suggest leaving before you push anymore buttons tonight." I said.

N takes another deep breath before snapping his fingers with the person next to him picking up a medium sized sac they were carrying on their back and handing it to N.

"It's not the only reason I'm here. This was found where you last resided before leaving for Galar. A note was place saying to give this to you. The voice your pokemon give makes me believe that you're scarred heart will find closure again someday." Said N getting closer to me with the Sac in hand.

"..."

N looks at me once more before placing the Sac within my hands. Wait... I didn't even think about accepting this?

"This pokemon's voice... it has rejected all who has attempted to befriend it before being forcefully caught by a ruthless trainer. Whoever left you this pokemon believes that it was meant to be trained by you." Said N as I look into the sac to find a dented pokeball.

Dear god... imagine being forced to fight without caring or even trying to develop a friendship with them. It reminded me of how awful the world could be sometimes.

"Hey! Whatever you're trying to do... he's not going back to Team Plasma again." Said Aurea visibly upset.

N looks at her and gives a weak smile.

"Your pokemon's voice, they understand your feelings well but, are conflicted about how much you try to push them and yourself. I have no intention of dragging any of my old members back into my problems or conflicts." Responded N.

Aurea starts sweating coldly from the head down from N's reaction. It's scary the first time he reads your pokemon's voices and hearts. To a point where you worry if you are doing a right job in raising a pokemon or failing as a trainer to work with them.

"Oi, you can't just -" Stopped Sharlene as N looks to her next.

"Your pokemon voices on the other hand, they are bitter... all but one of them believes they deserve a better trainer to reach their potential than you. A sad tale despite the one who believed in you the most saying that you have a good heart." Said N looking sad.

Sharlene looks horrified with N's statement.

"N that's enough! They have nothing to do with this!" I yell as Sharlene starts to burst into a stream of tears.

"Oi, you made my sister cry you jerk! If you keep it up I'll show you a lesson you won't forget!" Yelled Alfred enraged.

N looks even more sad.

"So this is whom you made friends with? One who pushes themselves too much, another who's pokemon are rejecting her, and one who's pokemon are afraid to express their true feelings to their trainer. An interesting bunch I would say so. So much room to grow... just like the region it'self." Responded N coldly.

This is going too far and I can't stand it anymore.

"Enough! Why must you hurt them like that N? It's me you want to deal with." I said letting go of my anger and regaining a more calm demeanour.

"It's better to give the harsh truth then living a lie. I'm do feel sorry though in the end that the truth is this way." Said N.

I can feel the atmosphere become cold and rather depressing. Is this how scary N truly was when he wasn't holding back.

"This can't be right... I loved them like they were family. This can't be right." Said Sharlene summoning all of her pokemon.

They all look at Sharlene quickly and then straight to the hooded figure.

"You all still love me right? Right?" Said Sharlene starting to cry.

All but one of Sharlene's pokemon seem to keep a netural expression which was her Goodra who puts their hands on her shoulders. Sharlene is starting to become more and more terrified as one by one they started moving towards the hooded trainer.

"N... No... this can't be." Said Sharlene while crying as the pokeballs that held her pokemon roll on the stadium floors.

Aurea and Alfred I can see are also starting to express worry and doubt from what they just witnessed. The Hooded trainer put their left hand out as five of Sharlene's pokemon surround the trainer.

"There, There, I'll take good care of them all for you." Said the hooded figure walking to take the fallen pokeballs.

This isn't happening... her pokemon literally abandoned her... willingly. Dear God... that's the most horrific thing that can happen to a trainer especially a bubbly one like Sharlene.

"Sunlight.. please go comfort Sharlene... she could use all the hugs right now." I commanded Sunlight who happily trots towards Sharlene to hug her with the softest hug I could imagine her giving.

Alfred rushes to his sister's side trying his best to help her. Aurea is starting to become horrified at what just happened likely believing that her pokemon might do the same thing. I can't help but feel absolutely awful for what happened.

"N... You've pushed it too far now..." I said as Illuminate forces himself out of his pokeball visibly angry.

N doesn't react at all as a huge black Dragon comes crashing down to the stadium standing beside him and the hooded figure. Zekrom, the dragon of ideals standing in front of us all. The power is off the charts and made me realize how outclassed we all are against this monster of a pokemon.

"If you wish to battle, I don't mind it. It won't end well if you try Liam." Said N as Zekrom roars.

I should be afraid... no I am afraid. However, I can't just stand there and let them suffer or continue to be hurt anymore.

"Let's go then N. I'll fight you with this resolve I have." I said as Illuminate gets in front of me.

N tears up.

"So be it then, old friend. Zekrom Hyper Voice." Commanded Zekrom as Zekrom unleashes a extremely powerful roar.

This roar instantly sends Illuminate flying towards me instantly knocked out as I catch him with my hands. Damn... I'm sorry Illuminate that you got hurt. I'll make sure you get good rest after this. I send out Canon next who looks terrified to encounter Zekrom retreating into her pokeball immediately.

"It's a fruitless effort. Only one will fight... and it won't be enough to win against Zekrom." Said N.

One? Moon. No other choice remains. I send out Moon who looks up to the Zekrom and is ready to fight. She shows no fear against a legendary and here I am just scared and only wanted to fight out of sheer stupidity... what was I thinking?

"Her voice... she truly respects you as her trainer. Will it truly be enough?" Said N.

"Only one way to find out... Moon, Moonblast!" I responded.

After the temple of the ancients I rearranged her movepool to be more effective and capable of trying to cover her core weakness as much as possible. This should be the key to victory. Moon unleashes a powerful blast as Zekrom openly takes the shot directly. What... it looked like Zekrom barely took damage.

"Zekrom, Fusion Bolt!" Commanded N as Zekrom Immediately at an extremely fast speed crashes onto Moon with a powerful stream of electricity with it's body.

Moon looks pretty beaten up just from that one Fusion Bolt but, gets up with some struggle to keep balance.

"Moon..." I said starting to worry.

Moon just stands and yells towards the Zekrom surprising N. Alright Moon, if we are doing this when we are gonna have to go all out.

"Moon, Moonblast!" I commanded absorbing the energy into her hands.

"Not enough... Zekrom Fusion Bolt." Said N as Zekrom attempts to charge Moon again at lighting fast speed.

Moon with only a second to spare manages to roll out of the way and with that small window of chance to strike throws two quick hard jabs to Zekroms fist empowered by the energy of Moonblast before jumping off the Zekrom. Zekrom is not going to be able to shake off the damage for long if we can keep it up.

"Moon, Psychic!" I command as she concentrates.

"Predictable... Zekrom Hyper Voice." Commanded N.

Zekrom gives off a very powerful roar pushing Moon back and breaking her concentration. Moon is starting to lose balance again from sustaining lots of damage. If this keeps up...

"Finish this... Hyper Voice!" Said N as Zekrom charges up another powerful roar.

The final roar pushes Moon hard to the ground only barley being conscious from the powerful attack. I rush to Moon's side immediately.

"Moon! Moon are you okay? I'll get my bag and heal you." I said panicking.

Zekrom returns to N's side.

"I didn't wish to hurt your pokemon but, you left my no choice but to fight. In the end, it was a meaningless fight where you could only stand there and watch your pokemon get hurt while Zekrom felt nothing. I however can tell that you would be fit enough to work with the pokemon that lies within the dented pokeball. I hope that the next time we meet that we'll be on better terms." Said N as the hooded trainer returned that was once Sharlene's pokemon back to their pokeballs.

Damn it... in the end I stood for no one and only hurt my pokemon as payment for taking on such a risky battle.

"See you all soon! Have a good evening!" Said the Hooded figure as they and N hop on Zekrom and depart.

In the end... did I prove anything other than being nothing but, stubborn? What am I doing... I should be healing my party. I see Aurea then toss me 2 full restores and revives.

"Give it to them..." She responded.

Without a moment to waste I give Moon a revive first and then used the Full Restore spray to patch up the battle wounds she took and then repeated the same thing to Illuminate. They both look healthy again.

"I'm so sorry you two for only getting you hurt." I said as the two of them start laughing.

What... there laughing instead of being upset or angry?

"Just take it easy you two. You guys did your best." I said as the two nod and relax.

I should return my attention to Sharlene... it's rough having all but one of your pokemon ditch you with the snap of a finger. I make my way towards Sharlene when Alfred looks at me in disgust. Aw crap here we go.

"Why..." Asked Alfred.

"...I... don't know. I didn't expect... to see him at all... I'm so sorry." I responded.

"That monster... when I see him again I'll make him pay for hurting my sister emotionally." Said Alfred with strong frustration.

Sharlene wipes away her tears before standing up again.

"I'll just have to work harder then as a trainer to learn from my mistakes. It'll be tough but, I can do it with Goodra on my side. It's the only move I can make going forward." Said Sharlene with a slight bitterness within those words.

I feel horrible.

"I'll help you then. If it risks my future then so be it." I said as Sunlight joins by my side again.

"Liam! You can't just do that... she just lost her team that she's spent so much time with... you can't just build relationships up like that in such a short time." Said Aurea seemingly worried.

Anything is possible... If you put the effort into overcoming your weakness. The last words I heard before leaving prison. Odd to hear ringing in my head sometimes. There's just one thing needed to be done. I take Winter's ball from my belt and summon her. I hate having to do this but, I got to trust my instinct on this decision and hope for the best.

"Winter... I have something very important for you to do. This may be tough for you but, at least for now I need you to be by Sharlene's side as her pokemon. She will need the support of you and her Goodra in order to rekindle the fire in becoming a true trainer. No other pokemon among our party can do it better than you can Winter. Please be strong for the both of them." I said trying to hold back tears.

Winter was there nearly from the beginning of this program and was a wonderful pokemon to have on my party. I do however, have the feeling that she'll be in better hands with Sharlene at the moment. She would have better access to an environment suited for her to no less. Winter looks down at Sharlene to get to see what her temporary trainer looks like. Sharlene looks up seemingly nervous of the giant pokemon before that nervous reaction became her seemingly bubbly nature.

"Winter right... It's a pleasure to meet you, My name's Sharlene. I hope you and I can become great friends." Said Sharlene putting her hand out towards Winter.

Winter lowers her head to meet Sharlene's eyes. After what felt like a long stare down Winter smiles happily. Sharlene puts her hand on Winter's head and starts rubbing. Winter responds with happy chanting and giving a strong smile.

"Take good care of her. She's a really sweet pokemon when she warms up to you more." I said tossing Winter's pokeball to Sharlene.

Sharlene smiles, "I won't let her down."

Aurea nods, "That dented pokeball... what pokemon is in it?"

There's only one way to find out. I summon the pokemon from out of it's pokeball revealing that the pokemon hidden within the dented ball was a Snivy. From the sharp eyes and rather instantly annoyed expression of seeing my face I can assume that this Snivy is going to be a really stubborn one.

"Hey there Snivy! It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is" I stopped as I receive a strong wine whip to the face pushing me to the ground and feeling pain from my left cheek.

The Snivy's strikes are pretty powerful for a basic pokemon. The fact that it left an itching pain where it struck is pretty telling of it's power. While that's nice to have a strong pokemon what should matter is the purpose of it striking me upon eye sight.

"It's going to be okay Snivy... I want to get to know you." I respond back to the Snivy.

It stands there still with the annoyed expression as it once again attempts to Whip me in the face with it's vines. This time I use my hands to block the hard vines from reaching my face. I can see Sunlight trying to creep up to the Snivy as I signal to stand down. The Snivy looks behind to see the sitting Sunlight smiling at it. The Snivy tries to vine whip Sunlight only for it's vines to do nothing to Sunlight shocking the Snivy.

"Now if you will stop trying to whip me and my pokemon for a second and just hear us out. I don't know what happened in your past but, I won't give up on you no matter how much effort, sacrifices, and pain I'll go through. I'll make sure you'll be happy and healthy to achieve whatever dreams you want to achieve. Please trust me Snivy." I said getting closer to the Snivy.

Snivy for a brief moment becomes dumbfounded before growling in anger and now shifting to using razor leaf on me. This time it's out to likely kill me or incapacitate me. A battle between two resolves and wills with only one coming out victorious. The leafs are sharp and are stabbing into my arms and legs. It hurts but, that's not important to me for now. What's important is reaching towards Snivy's heart. Sunlight looks worried but, continued to follow the stand down command. Think...

"Liam! You won't be able to convince it. It's not going to work." Yelled Sharlene as Winter remains calm.

"If you don't get out of the way it will seriously kill you!" Alfred responded.

Think carefully...

"Don't you dare give up Liam, you hear me? You won't lose to anyone outside of me anymore! Show him what it means to be a true trainer!" Yelled Aurea.

The Snivy's a dude? Now that I got a closer look at it, the snivy's coat seems to be very well groomed and even polished that would make any beauty class trainer salivate for. Perhaps that's what he wants? Well this may sound embarrassing from me but, if it's to open up her heart then so be it.

"You have quite an impressive coat now that I can see you more closely Snivy. I feel as if you wanted to make a clear message that you wanted to be noticed for your beauty. Is that the truth Snivy?" I said to the Snivy lowering my guard.

The Snivy's razor leaf stops as his face turns red trying to hide something as it's grinding his teeth lightly. There's the weak spot!

"You don't have to be ashamed about trying to look beautiful. You are quite majestic and prideful which many would find a beautiful quality. You'd fit in quite well with my pokemon who will enjoy your presence." I said.

The Snivy stops gritting his teeth and instead tries to face the other way only to see Sunlight in from of him. Sunlight gives off a grin as she starts tickling Snivy with her ribbons which results in the Snivy to start laughing. Ah there we go, the very playful nature of Sunlight would make it easier to soften other pokemon's feelings.

"You have nothing to worry about. Me and my party will support you and your dream along the way to the very end. A pleasure to meet the true you, Snivy." I said signalling Sunlight to stop tickling Snivy.

Sunlight releases her feelers off Snivy. After taking his time to regain his composure he folds his arms and looks at me once again. This time giving a rather smug smile. Did me and Sunlight reach his heart? I take out a fresh Luxury ball from my bag and hold it out towards Snivy.

"So what do you say buddy? Would you like to join the family?"

Snivy nods as he enters the Luxury ball. Welcome to the party Snivy.
