Chapter 36: Natsu & Lucy: Part Two
"Momma...why do I have to be here! I wanna go play with Levyyy" A young, six year old girl with medium length golden hair tied up in a side ponytail whined. She tugged at her mother's dress, causing the girl's mother who was the spitting image of a grown up version of the young girl to look down at her with a scowl.
"Now, now Lucy….I told you that your dad wants to introduce you to his best friend and his son, they are going to be moving into the city soon!" Lucy puffed out her cheeks and crossed her arms.
"I don't wanna…." She muttered grumpily. Layla frowned at her daughter's attitude, and bent down.
"Lucy Ashley Heartfilia, this is important to your father. He hasn't seen his friend in years...we even closed down the café early so that they could visit...Besides it could do you some good to make more friends than just Levy."
"I don't wanna be friends with some smelly boy!" Lucy stuck out her tongue and acted disgusted. Layla rolled her eyes at her daughter's antics and was about to scold her daughter, but as she opened her mouth she broke out into a fit of coughs. Lucy looked at her mom worriedly as Layla began coughing uncontrollably, Layla's hand shot up to her mouth as some blood came out.
"HONEY?! ARE YOU OKAY?!" Jude's voice yelled out as he ran out of the kitchen area of the small café and rushed over to his wife's side.
"Momma?..." Lucy watched her mother horrified as Layla's coughs didn't relent, and just got worse.
"Lucy, go get your mother some water!" Jude instructed the young girl who stood still, just watching on as her father wrapped his arms around his wife and rubbed her back.
"I-Is...momma okay?" Lucy questioned.
"Just go get some water Lucy!" Jude snapped and Lucy immediately sprinted into the kitchen and filled a paper coffee cup full of water before running back to her parents. She handed the cup to her father who knelt down next to Layla who was still coughing her throat hoarse.
"Here you go love...it's okay just drink up…" Jude comforted Layla as she took the cup and slowly drank the contents, her coughing becoming much less harsh and more spaced out, before eventually stopping. She took a few shaky breaths before rubbing her throat. She looked down at her hand that was covered in blood from her cough attack.
"...L-Lucy...c-can you grab Mommy a napkin?" Layla asked with a rough, hoarse voice. Lucy studied her mother carefully before nodding and going to grab a few napkins. This sort of thing had been happening more and more recently, her mother would just break down in a fit of coughs, that lasted anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. It scared Lucy, and she knew it scared her mother and father as well. Sometimes Lucy would stay up late, and she could hear them talking about visiting the hospital if it got worse, but they just didn't have enough money.
"H-here you go…" Lucy handed the pile to her mother who began wiping off her hands.
"Are you okay my love?" Jude asked his wife who looked at him with a gentle smile.
"Y-yeah, I just need a second. My throat really hurts." Layla replied, and jude stood to his feet while helping her up as well.
"One cup of throat coating tea, with some honey coming right up…" He smiled and walked over into the kitchen and began making her some tea. Lucy watched her mother take a seat at one of the free tables and massage her throat. Just then there was a knock at the door, followed by the sound of the entry bell ringing as the door swung open. Lucy and Layla looked over to the entrance where a red-haired man with a scar on his cheek stood holding up a small boy that looked to be about Lucy's age on his shoulders. Lucy looked at the boy he was holding closely, he had the weirdest colored hair, it was pink! He had large green eyes that seemed to be so full of energy and a large grin on his face. As if getting a piggyback ride from his father was the greatest thing in the world.
"Igneel! It's lovely to see you!" Layla stood up and walked over to the strange man and hugged him. Lucy looked at her mother like she was insane, these two strangers looked weird and untrustworthy. The one named Igneel had that scar on his cheek, meanwhile the little boy….well…..he had pink hair, and Lucy knew for a fact that wasn't normal!
"It's great to see you as well Layla…" The man named Igneel chuckled as he hugged her back.
"And I'm guessing this little guy is yours right? What was his name again?" Layla looked up at the grinning boy on top of Igneel's shoulders, the boy began giggling.
"My name is Natsu!" The boy introduced himself with a large cheeky grin. Layla smiled at the boy.
"It's nice to meet you Natsu, how old are you?" Layla beamed, and Natsu's grin faded away, he began counting on his fingers, which caused Lucy to roll her eyes. Did this boy seriously not know how old he was? What a freak!
"Ummmm….I'm six!" He said despite holding up only four fingers, Lucy resisted the strong urge to facepalm.
"So I take it you, and Daphne finally tied the knot huh?" Lucy turned to see her father emerging from the kitchen while holding a steaming cup of tea for her mother. He had a large grin on his face as he looked at his old friend. He walked over to them and handed Layla the tea who thanked her husband before sipping it.
"Oh….you see….that's complicated…." Igneel's face turned red as he awkwardly shuffled his feet.
"Daddy found me in the woods!" Natsu chimed in with a large grin. Igneel sighed, while Layla and Jude glanced at each other slightly.
"Did he now?" Jude asked, looking directly at Igneel who nodded his head, while Natsu just chuckled.
"Yeah, about three years ago now I found him bundled up in a blanket….I got to him before the foxes did luckily….His biological parents must have dropped him off there…." Igneel confirmed, and Lucy actually felt a twinge of pity despite her uneasiness of the two strangers.
"Poor thing….I couldn't imagine why someone would do that to their own child…." Layla muttered quietly. Jude cleared his throat.
"Yes, it is quite tragic, lucky for him you were there….speaking of children this is our daughter Lucy…" Jude smiled as he gestured for the small girl to walk forward. Igneel gently placed Natsu down on the ground and Lucy felt uneasy as he was soon standing directly in front of her, she was easily taller than him. A large smile was plastered on his face as he held out his hand.
"Hi there Luigi! I'm Natsu!" Lucy glared at him.
"MY NAME ISN'T LUIGI! IT'S LUCY!" She yelled, but Natsu just began laughing.
Needless to say they weren't fast friends. Lucy found Natsu's outgoing and carefree nature to be so obnoxious, and annoying. Meanwhile Natsu just thought they were best friends, because of how often they saw each other. Their parents hung out nearly every day, and with that came many days of Natsu wanting to play with Lucy, while Lucy wanted nothing to do with the strange kid. They even started going to the same school which made things worse! He wouldn't leave her alone! However, things began to change a few months later.
"Hey there Luigi, why are you crying?" Natsu walked up to Lucy who was on a swing crying. Her pink dress was covered in dirt, and her side ponytail had been loosened.
"How….many….times….do….I…..have…...to…..tell….you…..MY NAME ISN'T…..LUIGI!" The young girl sobbed, and yelled at the boy. The boy just proceeded to laugh at her, she puffed out her cheek clearly upset at being laughed at.
"But I like Luigi more! Lucy is just so weird…" The boy grinned cheekily as he crossed his arms behind his head. Lucy had forgotten what she was crying about, because of this pipsqueak who was getting on her nerves.
"MY NAME ISN'T WEIRD! YOU KNOW WHAT'S A WEIRD NAME? NATSU! WHO HAS EVER HEARD OF A NAME LIKE THAT!" She screamed and got right up in Natsu's face who looked up at her and continued grinning despite the taller girl being really mad with him.
"You got that right! Blame my Dad for that! Now why were you crying?" His grin suddenly turned to a look of seriousness. Lucy huffed, but rubbed the scrape on her elbow which Natsu noticed. She sighed.
"It's nothing….I just asked that jerk Loke if we could sit together on the bus...He just pushed me down and laughed at me…." Lucy mumbled sadly, but Natsu looked serious.
"That jerk...I'm gonna go beat him up!" Natsu turned on his heels with a huff, but Lucy gawked at him in disbelief.
"No, Natsu you don't need to do that!" She insisted chasing after him, she eventually grabbed his arm causing him to look at her,
"Sure I do...He hurt you….and nobody hurts my best friend!" He pronounced angrily. Lucy blinked at him stunned.
"I'm your….best friend?..." She asked confused, they hadn't even talked that much and everytime they had seen each other was, because their parents were hanging out, he honestly annoyed her.
"Of course!" He beamed, causing the young girl to sit there awestruck.
"And as long as we are friends, I won't let anybody hurt you!" He smiled brightly, and turned around again walking towards where Loke was sitting with a raven-haired boy.
"No! Natsu get back here!" Lucy yelled and once again grabbed Natsu's arm. Natsu turned around to look at her curiously.
"But Lucy….he hurt you!" Lucy smiled at the boy softly, how had she hated him for no reason? She wanted to make up for how poorly she had treated him, because he only ever saw her as a friend. Maybe her mother was right, maybe it wouldn't hurt to have more than one friend.
"I know, but it's okay….can we just go play on the swings?" Natsu's eyes widened and a large smile formed on his face.
"Y-you mean it? You actually wanna play together?" He asked enthusiastically, and Lucy grinned back at him before nodding her head.
"Yeah I mean it! We're friends after all, and friends play together right?"
"YOU BET!" Natsu yelled happily, and Lucy laughed as the two raced each other towards the swingset.
From that moment the two children became inseparable, Lucy learned to grow fond of Natsu's quirks instead of loathing them. Natsu meanwhile just loved having a friend, he had been an outcast throughout the entirety of elementary school, only having a total of three friends, Lucy, Gray, and Erza. Of the three though Lucy was always there for him, they always sat together, played together at recess, did homework together, ate together. They were best friends and nothing would ever break them apart, even the instance that occurred three years later. The moment where Natsu's powers made themselves known.
"Natsu….what….was that?" A now nine year old Lucy asked her friend, who was staring down at his shaky hands. His eyes were wide with fear at what had just occurred. They had just been hanging out and playing Monopoly, and Natsu was getting frustrated, because he kept losing. Eventually he got so frustrated that after another loss he picked up the board in an attempt to throw it, but instead the board just caught fire in his hands.
"I-I-I don't know…..b-but I'm scared…" Natsu's body began shaking once again and steam emanated off his body, Lucy stared at him with wide eyes as Natsu's hand once again burst into flames. The two kids screamed and watched in horror as the flames only grew in size.
"Natsu quick! Put it out! Put it out! The treehouse will burn!" Lucy cried out as Natsu waved his arm around wildly.
"The treehouse will burn?! WHAT ABOUT ME! AM I GOING TO BURN!" Natsu yelled out fearfully as the flames began spreading up his arm.
"UMMMMM NO! NO YOU'LL BE FINE!...JUST STOP, DROP, AND ROLL!" Lucy yelled in response. Natsu looked at her like she was crazy.
"IF I DO THAT WON'T THE TREEHOUSE BURN AS WELL?!"
"I DON'T KNOW! IT'S NOT EVERY DAY SOMEONE SPONTANEOUSLY BURST INTO FLAMES!" The two began panicking and at the same time yelled out at the top of their lungs.
"DAD!"
"IGNEEL!" The two kids cried out as they ran around in circles trying to put out the flames that were continuing to grow and encase Natsu. They heard loud footsteps that were running below them, and soon could hear someone climbing up the ladders that went up to their treehouse.
"What's wrong you two?" Igneel asked as he peaked his head through the door before his eyes landed on his son, more specifically the fact that his son was on fire.
"OH MY GOD! NATSU!" He shouted before sprinting inside the cramped treehouse. He looked around for something to smother the flames with, all the while the two kids were freaking out. After a second Igneel took off his jacket and cautiously threw it over Natsu and began patting the flames, smothering them.
"Oww! Son of a bi-" Igneel caught himself from cursing in front of the young children, but held his arm and hand that had been burnt by the flames on Natsu who despite being on fire didn't seem to be in any pain. Eventually all of the flames had been put out leaving the three thoroughly freaked out and stunned at what just happened. Igneel looked at his arm that was horribly burnt, and turned to leave the treehouse.
"I...need to take care of this….Lucy keep an eye on Natsu…." Igneel muttered and left, leaving the two kids alone, Natsu looked down at his hands in confusion, while Lucy just stood there silently.
"A-Am I a monster Lucy?" Natsu asked after a moment of silence. The blonde girl looked at him sadly and slowly walked over to him before giving him an awkward hug.
"N-No….you're not a monster Natsu….you're my friend…." Natsu blinked a few times before hugging her back.
"Promise?"
"I promise….we're friends forever…" Lucy closed her eyes and held him tighter.
Over the next few years Natsu would continue to struggle with his power, but like she had promised Lucy had never left his side, and Natsu never left hers. However, just like everything there were ups, and there were downs. Such as when Natsu had come home with a kitten he had found in an alley being picked on by a group of kids, Lucy had not been fond of the blue-furred stinker the first couple of times she saw the kitten, mainly because he was a jerk to her, but Natsu claimed he loved her. There was also the instance where Lucy had decided to run away from her mother and father freshman year following the end of Summer carnival Natsu had gone with her to. She lived with him and Igneel up until midway through sophomore year when she had heard the news.
"Lucy...your father is here!" Igneel yelled upstairs, causing Lucy to look up from her book to look at Natsu with a horrified expression. Natsu looked up from playing with his kitten with wide eyes.
"What is he doing here?" Lucy questioned, and Natsu shrugged.
"I dunno! When was the last time you talked to him?!" Lucy thought back.
"It's been ages….I haven't really talked to him since the end of eighth grade when he told me he was running for Mayor…..since then we haven't been on speaking terms you know that!"
"Natsu! Lucy!" Igneel's voice yelled out again causing the two now teens to get up and bolt out of the bedroom at once. They cautiously walked down the stairs, and found Igneel, and Jude in the kitchen. Jude looked like a disaster, his normally well kept suit, and hair were all messy, there were bags under his red, puffy eyes, and the second his eyes landed on Lucy a few tears fell from his eyes.
"There you are, you two, please have a seat…." Igneel motioned for them to sit at the dining table with the two grown ups, they snuck a final glance at each other before complying. Lucy uneasily looked over to her father who cautiously glanced at her.
"What's going on?" Natsu asked, and Igneel sighed. He turned his head to look over to Jude.
"I'm guessing you want to tell them…" Igneel asked with a twinge of sadness in his voice which caused Natsu and Lucy to once again glance at each other.
"Tell us what?..." Lucy asked, turning to her father, who struggled to look her in the eyes.
"...I want to start off by saying I'm happy to see you again Lucy….you truly have grown more beautiful than any star in the sky…...I wish it was under better circumstances though….you see….late last night your mother had another one of her episodes…..this one was worse than the ones before so she was rushed to the hospital…...b-b-but…...s-she…..was g-gone b-before the ambulance g-got t-to the hospital…..s-she's gone…." Jude placed his face in his hands and started sobbing while Lucy sat there taking in the information. Natsu sat there stunned and looked over to Igneel who was staring at the table sadly. Surprising even herself Lucy had stood up and bolted at her father. The two sat there crying in each other's arms for over an hour, Natsu and Igneel decided to give them some time alone.
Two days after that was Layla's funeral, and Lucy was barely holding herself together as hundreds of strangers showed up to give their condolences. All the shops and schools were closed, and the funeral was a public affair, Layla was beloved by the city and its people and they all wanted the chance to pay their respects. As such it had been a long day, but Natsu had stayed through the entire thing, he offered his hand for Lucy to hold during the entire thing, and she even had to rest her head on his shoulder during the burial. She would not have made it through the day without him. After that day she knew that Natsu would always be by her side, it was also when she realized her silly school girl crush on him was something more, something deeper.
During Junior year her feelings just continued to grow, while he finally began realizing his own. It was a strange thing, but not all that strange to the people who knew them. In fact most people would have said it was one of those things that was just supposed to happen. They had been through so much in life together, shared so many great memories, and were always there for each other. It was obvious to everyone, but them that there was nobody else for the two besides each other. All the events that have occurred over their senior year have just cemented that fact. It started off with that impulsive kiss they shared at the Christmas dance, quickly followed by Igneel's death. Lucy had been there and helped Natsu every step of the way like he did for her, even going so far as to let him move into her and her father's house like he had done for her. And then there was the Phantom Lord incident, where Lucy had been kidnapped by a guy who had a grudge against her father, Natsu had been the one to rescue her. He even dove out of a window to catch her and break her fall when she jumped from the top floor of the building to escape Jose.
After that they had to adjust, Lucy now knew Natsu's secret identity, but it didn't scare her away, sure she was constantly worried about his well being, but she was never scared that he had changed. It was simple really, he had never changed. He had just grown, grown from a scared boy who couldn't control his powers to a man who would run head first into danger to protect others. Lucy had grown because of it as well she was determined to not be a damsel in distress that he always had to save so she learned how to fight, and she made sure to help him every step of the way. After Phantom Lord came Laxus and his plan of destroying Magnolia, and Fairy Tail, Lucy had been so worried when she got to Fairy Tail and saw how badly injured he was, but once he woke up they talked about it, and went on to have an amazing time with little Asuka.
Of course great things can't last, because after that Natsu had been taken prisoner for an entire week by Brain, and tortured mentally, and physically. It was Lucy who kept him sane, and eventually saved him though. She was the one who had calmed him down and stopped him from killing Brain, and it was Lucy who had helped him recover from his PTSD that he suffered the months following. The two had grown so much together over the past year, but the one constant was that they did it together. That would never change, they would forever grow and stick together, just like they had their entire lives.
Back to present:
"I love you."
"I love you." The two had spoken in unison while they were still moving side to side, dancing to the slow song the DJ was playing. As soon as the two had said those words their eyes shot open and they moved their foreheads away from each other, bright blushes on their cheeks.
"W-What did you say?" Lucy asked Natsu stunned, Natsu's blush deepened.
"What did you say?!" Natsu repeated her question, but this time it was directed at her which made the pink dustings on Lucy's cheeks deepen. Before either one of them could say anything else the DJ had cut off the music and began shouting into the microphone.
"ALRIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER FOR A VERY SPECIAL LIVE PERFORMANCE...THIS ONE IS DEDICATED TO A MISS LEVY MCGARDEN!" The crowd of students began murmuring and looked up to the stage. Lucy and Natsu sent each other confused looks, before turning to find their blue-haired friend whose face was bright red, and was hiding her face behind her hands. They heard a guitar getting tuned before a spotlight turned on and was directed down on a figure sitting on a stool on the stage. He was clad in an all white suit along with a fedora, his long black hair was slicked back and he wore a pair of black sunglasses. He strummed the strings on the guitar and leant into the microphone.
"Shooby doo bop." He sang into the microphone and Natsu suppressed a giggle at Gajeel who began singing, Lucy chuckled next to him as the crowd of students actually began getting into the song and cheering, Levy let out a sigh and began laughing.
"WOOO! GO GAJEEL!" She shouted over the loud cheers of students, with a blush on her face. Lucy looked from Levy over to Natsu who was smiling and laughing at his rival, her heart began beating faster at the exchange they said.
"It looks like Levy and Gajeel are a thing now…" Lucy laughed, and Natsu turned to look at her raising his eyebrows.
"Really? I didn't see that one coming….they are so different…." Natsu looked between the singing man on stage and the bluenette cheering him on.
"Yeah….but you know what they say opposites attract….You know…..there are people who would say that we are pretty different you know?..." Lucy felt a blush on her face again. To her surprise Natsu took her hand and intertwined their fingers together.
"Totally…." The two stood there hand and hand and watched the rest of Gajeel's performance before while laughing and cheering him on teasingly.
"SHOOBY DOO BOPPPPPPP!" Gajeel's voice echoed through the room as he finished the song, the room burst into applause, and loud cheers.
"HOW ABOUT THAT! WHAT A MUSICAL PRODIGY! AND NOW BACK TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM! EVERYONE FIND A PARTNER, WE ARE ABOUT TO SLOW THINGS BACK DOWN!"
The students did as they were instructed and began pairing off. Natsu turned to look at Lucy who smiled at him, their hands were still tangled with the others. They smiled at each other and silently asked the other to dance with them. However, before they were able to get ready an unwelcome person made their presence known.
"There you are Lu-Lu! I have been looking all over for you!" Dan exclaimed and pushed past Natsu knocking him down onto the floor.
"Oh...hi…..Dan….." Lucy looked down at Natsu silently apologizing as Dan clamped his hands around her wrists.
"Come! We must dance together!" Dan exclaimed and Natsu rolled his eyes.
"Actually Dan….I already have a partner…..Sorry?" Lucy winced as Dan's face fell to a frown.
"Who? I don't see anyone!" Dan looked to his left and to his right, as Natsu stood back up. Lucy sighed.
"Behind you….you kinda pushed him down on the ground…." Dan whipped his head to look behind him and his face instantly grew angry upon seeing Natsu.
"Him?! Seriously! He's a loser Lu-Lu!"
"HEY! I CAN HEAR YOU!" Natsu snapped at Dan who ignored him.
"Come on Lu-Lu, you came here with me, you're supposed to dance with me! Not some loser!"
"AGAIN I'M STILL RIGHT HERE!" Lucy chuckled at Natsu who was fuming and ready to burn Dan to a crisp. She pulled her wrists free of Dan's grip, and backed away from him.
"I'm sorry Dan...but I already made up my mind….the only reason I came here with you is because you kinda forced me into it…...It's not that I don't like you or anything, you are a fun guy for sure….and Natsu may be a loser…."
"HEY! YOU TOO!" Lucy rolled her eyes at Natsu's interruption. She looked at him, but smiled before looking back at Dan.
"But he's my loser...and if that makes me a loser as well then so be it….As long as I'm with him I'm happy…..can you at the very least respect my decision?" Lucy asked with a soft smile on her face, Natsu was beaming behind Dan's back. All while Dan was just standing there dumbfounded.
"You know what….fine…..look Lu-Lu you're attractive and all, but man your personality stinks….you would think after two months around hanging all this…." Dan proceeded to gesture to his entire body.
"You would be wrapped around my finger by now, but noooooo! You are one of those girls….You think some dork could make you happy. When in reality all you need is someone like me who will make you feel good whenever you want….pfft whatever…..you're missing out Lu-Lu….if you change your mind you know where to find me…" Dan stormed off leaving Lucy with her jaw hanging agape, while Natsu stood there stifling a laugh.
"And who said chivalry is dead…" Natsu quipped which made Lucy look at him still gobsmacked over what just happened.
"Oh shut up, and come dance with me…" Lucy held out her hand for him to take, he wasted no time stepping closer to her and taking her hand.
"Are you sure Luce? You are missing out on all of that…" Natsu motioned to where Dan had stormed off to and was now hitting on Levy, Juvia, and Erza at once, with each one of their boyfriends glaring at him. Lucy winced and shuddered.
"Oh please...I'm right where I want to be….." She muttered and held Natsu close to her, resting her head on his chest as the music began playing. Natsu blushed and moved his hands down to Lucy's hips and the two slowly moved to the song Perfect by Ed Sheeran. Neither one of them thought about how perfect the lyrics were for the two of them, because they really were just kids when they fell in love, even though they didn't know it until now.
"Lucy…."
"Yeah Natsu?"
"What I said earlier….is that I love you…." Lucy smiled and looked up into his eyes.
"And I love you too Natsu…." Natsu smiled down at her as once again their foreheads rested against the others. They closed their eyes and continued dancing together.
"I know I've been going through a lot right now with what happened with Daphne...and my father, but I know something now…."
"What's that?" Lucy hummed, and she felt Natsu exhale a breath.
"That….even though I should feel horrible right now….when I'm with you, I'm not upset at all…..in fact I've never been happier….I need you…." Lucy actually felt as her heart skipped a beat and she tightened her grip from behind his neck.
"I need you too Natsu…I wouldn't be here without you….you make my life better….and I meant what I said earlier, I want to be there by your side and help you out with what you are going through….I want to stay by your side….because...you're my loser." Natsu chuckled.
"How long are you going to use that? Because I'm not a loser Luce." Lucy giggled at his reaction.
"I know you aren't…"
"Hey Luce?"
"Yeah Natsu?" The two locked eyes and moved closer to the other without noticing it.
"Do you want to be losers together?" He asked her and she felt her heart start racing.
"Aren't we already losers together?" She questioned back at him.
"I guess…..but what I meant Lucy….I wanted to ask if you….ya know…..w-wanted t-to b-be…..m-my g-g-gi…"
"Be your what Natsu?" Lucy giggled at Natsu's glowing red face. His body began to grow warm and he began sweating nervously.
"U-ummmm…." Natsu opened his mouth, but the words didn't come out.
"Come on big guy you can do it…." Lucy joked, before leaning to whisper in his ear.
"Just so you know my answer is yes…." She pulled away and was blushing just as furiously as Natsu was, Natsu gulped and swallowed the lump that was in his suddenly dry throat.
"Will….you….b-be…..my…...g-g-girl….g-girlfriend?" Natsu stuttered and Lucy responded by leaning forward and capturing his lips with hers. The two closed their eyes and melted into the long awaited kiss. A moment that was ruined by their friends all whistling and clapping them on, they however ignored them and held onto each other tightly, sure the kiss was clumsy and awkward, nothing like you would see in a big budget movie, but it was their kiss. It was the compilation of over thirteen years of a beautiful friendship that grew with them. This wasn't the end of their story, far from it, it was only the start of a new one. A story they would write together.
Chapter 37: Old Friends, New Rivals!
