LITTLE WOLF.

"Mommy, it smells funny." My three-year-old baby complained.

I smiled at him, thinking perhaps he'd pooped his diaper. "Oh yeah? Should we check nappie?" He'd been in the habit of calling his diapers 'nappies' not 'the nappy' or 'a nappy', just nappy. It was so cute.

He shook his head at me as if I was crazy for thinking he could have pooped himself. As if he hadn't done it countless times before.

"No, mommy. No poop. It huhts." I frowned at this. Usually, he was such a good boy. He rarely got sick; he was a sweetheart and adored by the tribe.

I thought that if something was hurting him, maybe I should get him to Sue. She was closest than any hospital, and she was his doctor/nurse.

I took out my phone to text Paul that I was taking our son to Sue, but couldn't finish the text because my baby began sobbing in my chest.

"What's wrong, baby?" He shook his head. He was so like his dad in that way. "Mommy's got you. We'll go see Nana Sue." I tried to soothe him, but I was getting worried. Was his stomach hurting as he'd complained in the morning?

I walked faster to my car, only to stop dead at the sight. Now, my son's complaints made sense. I cradled his head in the crook of my neck so that he didn't see the vampire waiting for us. I quickly opened the back door and situated him in his chair. "Here. Talk with daddy while mommy checks something." I dialed Paul's number putting it on speaker. As always, his answer was immediate.

"Hello, baby." Our baby boy giggled at the greeting, and I could hear Paul chuckling on the other end. I left the door open so that the sound of my conversation would be heard by Paul, even if our son was babbling to him.

"What are you doing here, Edward?" After seven years, what business was it of him?

"I came to check on you." I snorted because, really, what else was I supposed to do?

"You're seven years late." I opened the driver's door and put my purse on the passenger's seat. I was starting to show my second pregnancy, and I got tired more quickly than I did with my first one.

"Bella, please." The power of that look would have brought me to my knees seven years ago, but it was another stare now that held my heart.

"Please, what? Please don't dismiss you? Please don't ignore you? Please what?! You show up seven years later, waiting for what? For me to be waiting for you with open arms? After you shattered my heart and my dreams? What do you want?" Of course, I didn't care about it. All my questions were rhetorical.

"I never stopped loving you."

And what was I supposed to do with that information? Abandon my husband, the love of my life, my baby boy, and my unborn child?

"Nice way of showing it. I don't care anymore, Edward. I have a life now. I'm happy. Leave me alone, and leave Forks if you still value your life."

Edward frowned. I pointed to his back to show my backup in the form of Paul, Sam, and Jake. The three strongest wolves of the pack. They got here in record time. They must have been closer than I thought.

After seven years, some of the wolves still phased from time to time, not trusting the peace and quiet that has permeated the area since they killed Victoria.

"Are you alright?" Paul asked when he reached me, hugging me tight to him.

"We're fine." I nodded on his chest, inhaling his scent, calming myself immediately.

Paul checked on our baby boy, chuckling when he started tickling his tummy. I smiled, looking at my two boys. They were my life, my reason to live.

Once Paul was reassured that we were fine, he came out of the car and faced Edward. "Leave, leech. You're not welcome in Forks anymore." Five years ago, when Victoria was killed, the wolves had burned down the Cullen mansion to the ground to send the message that they were not welcome anymore. The treaty was null and void.

"I'll leave when she tells me to leave." He insisted, and I rolled my eyes.

"I already told you I'm not interested in what you have to say. Leave me alone, leave my family alone. Never come back and pass the message to your family." I started walking to the driver's side of my car, but Edward got passed Jake and Sam and tried to take my arm. That was his biggest mistake.

Paul twisted his arm and pulled hard, ripping it from his body. I quickly went to check on my baby to shelter him from the events that were transpiring, but he was blessedly asleep. When I turned again, Edward was running away, holding his dislocated arm. I tried to warn him, but he didn't listen.

"That'll show them not to mess with my family." Paul snarled.
