"So," Adam said slowly. "You're saying that I'm…not coming with?"
John and Nine glanced at each other. "We don't need you for this mission, and you've already been through enough. It'd be safer for you to stay here," John replied.
"John, most of what is left of my species is there," Adam said, trying to keep a level head. "They won't just go with you. I can help them understand that they're safe."
"That's true, we don't want a panic," John said. "But, we have a couple gardes that can mold emotions. Similar to Einar."
"Who?"
"Uh, doesn't matter. The main thing is that we can make sure that they all stay calm and follow us."
Adam stared at John for a couple seconds before glancing at Nine.
"If it makes you feel any better, I'm staying here, too," Nine told them. "They don't need me to go. I wouldn't be able to do much."
Adam knew he was talking more about them than him. "I can't just stay here while you risk your lives again."
"We'll be fine," John replied. "It's gonna be me, Six, Marina, Kopano, Leo, and a few other gardes. They're all trained to be good fighters and their legacies are perfect for this mission. We'll be okay."
Nine walked up to Adam and brought them into a hug. "They'll be back here before you know it."
Adam sighed and wrapped his arms around Nine.
"Okay."
"Good luck," Sam said with a pat on John's shoulder.
"We don't need it!" Kopano boasted.
"Well, it won't hurt to have some," Malcolm replied. Sam nodded and walked over to Six. They embraced and Six pecked Sam on the lips.
"C'mon!" Kopano said eagerly. He was holding onto one of John's shoulders, ready to take off. Six walked over to the other side of him while he pulled Nine and Adam into a hug.
They were in the same spot that they had landed in before. A couple garde that Adam had never seen or heard of before were there, milling about. They looked older than they had pictured. Some looked as old as Adam, if not older.
"See ya later, Johnny."
"Yep."
Adam reached out and put a hand on one of John's shoulders. "Don't do anything you don't need to."
John gave them a smile. "Wouldn't dare."
Nine smirked before leaning forward and kissing John. John kept his eyes open and blushed a bit. Nine drew away and stepped back a couple steps with Adam.
"You owe me some money, love," Nigel said casually to Six. Six only rolled her eyes.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road," Leo said over John's shoulder. "No more of this lovey dovey stuff."
John glared at them, before redirecting it at Nine. "Okay," he sighed. "Grab on and let's go."
A couple garde lifted off into the air and were followed by slowly lifting baskets. The garde had straps tied around them that were connected to the large things made for carrying the Mogadorians. They were bulky and not really that easy to fly with.
In other words, Adam really wasn't sure if they would work.
