Interior: Foundry, observation deck.

Exploring accompanied by T3, Caleb froze in shock at the sight of a Sith Lord he'd seen in the Jedi archives.

"Ah, karabast!" exclaimed Dume who quickly drew his lightsaber, and took a Soresu stance, making the armoured Sith laugh.

"What's so funny?" asked Dume who frowned.

Looming over the boy and the droid, the Sith Lord scoffed, "Don't even think about it, child," before Galen, Mace and Plo arrived.

Whilst Caleb backed away, Galen commanded, "Step away from the boy, and stand down, Dar'jetii scum."

"Mandalore the Starkiller."

"Malgus: The Deceiver." identified Galen, "Why shouldn't I kill you where you stand?"

"Emperor Vitiate is my enemy, and the enemy of my enemy is-"

"We're not friends, Veradun." dismissed Starkiller.

"Do not call me that, Galen Marek!" growled Malgus.

"Like I said, we're not friends.

Friends would be on a first name basis."

"Is Veradun a curse word?" obliviously asked Dume.

"It's the name Malgus was born with." answered Plo.

"Oh, wait, how did he even get here?" wondered Caleb.

"I do not know how, boy." answered Malgus, "but I see you are a weakness of Galen Marek.

A reason he holds back against some adversaries.

I wonder how powerful he would become if he stopped pulling his punches, as they say."

Dume carefully stepped back from the scarred juggernaut that was Malgus.

"Malgus, on your knees with your hands behind your head." ordered Galen, "and don't try anything."

"You would arrest me?" scoffed Malgus, "Do you not trust me to fight by your side against the Emperor?"

"You don't get a title like 'the Deceiver,' by being trustworthy."

"Point taken."

Marek ordered, "Windu, take this scum to the detention level, and lock him in a cell."

"You do realise I'm the Council member, and you're not?

I outrank you."

"Am I supposed to care?"

Malgus laughed, "Hahahaha, this is one reason why Eleena and I never had children."

"You who killed the only person you ever loved, because you loved her.

You of all people being a father?" asked Galen, "What kind of sick joke is that?"

"Are you trying to provoke me, Mandalorian?"

"No, but you will stand down," snarled Galen as he stood imposingly whilst several war droids arrived with HK-47.

"You'd be wise to go quietly, Malgus." advised Plo, "Master Starkiller rarely takes that tone, and Sith always die when he does."

"You call him Master? Is he your Master, Kel Dor?" mocked the Sith Lord, "I sense he is as much Sith as I am."

"He stands with us, with the Republic." declared Plo Koon.

"The Republic? Really?" asked Galen, "I don't just fight for them."

"Who do you do all this for?" asked Dume, "besides your fellow Mandalorians and Jedi?"

"For those I love, for my friends, for my family… for you." gently answered Galen as he smiled at the young boy.

"I love you too." replied Caleb.

"Filthy Jedi." hissed Malgus who suddenly ignited his blade, and lunged at Dume.

Just then, in a moment of pure instinct, Mace stepped in front of Malgus, to shield his GrandPadawan as the crimson blade impaled him through the lower abdomen.

Behind his mask, Malgus smirked until he looked down to see Windu's magenta blade had pierced his chest, right through the heart, and his palm had connected, shattering the dark warrior's armour.

As the blades extinguished, Malgus was launched out a window by one last Force push from the Korun Master, hit by dozens of blaster bolts from HK-47, and a golden bolt of lightning from Galen.

Kneeling by Mace's side as the Korun Master fell to the floor, Galen said, "Hey, stay with us, it'll be okay. I can heal you."

"Don't you dare, I saw the shatterpoint," exhaled Mace, "If you save me now, it'll cost the lives of millions of others in my place."

"Dank farrik."

"I'm sorry, Galen, I'm sorry for everything.

For all the pain I've caused you, for taking your clan from you, and for how I've treated you.

I was arrogant, I was foolish, I was hypocritical, dogmatic," apologised Mace, "you're a better man, and a better Jedi, than I could ever be."

"I've carried so much hate for you," admitted Galen, "but I forgive you."

"Jedi Master, High Council member, Master of the Order, High General.

But in the end… as the darkness takes me, I am nothing," sighed Windu, "I've always loved Depa like a daughter, and I never told her.

I should've let her know how much she meant to me."

"We'll tell her, I promise." assured Galen.

Closing the fallen Master's eyelids, Plo solemnly said, "Goodbye, old friend."

"Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum," recited Galen, "Mace."

HK-47 added, "Translation: I'm still alive, but you are dead. I remember you, so you are eternal."

Kneeling down to hug the tearful boy, Galen sent warm and comforting feelings to Caleb through the Force as the Padawan cried into his shoulder.

"I'm not sure how to handle a personal loss like this," admitted Dume, "Master Windu was my Grandmaster, and now he's gone."

"Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la." gently replied Galen.

"Translation: Not gone, merely marching away." elaborated HK-47.

"No-one's ever really gone, ad'ika." assured Starkiller, "What he stood for, what he fought for.

What he believed in, what he loved. That's not gone.

He will live on through his memory, and through his legacy.

He's one with the Force now, and through the Force he'll always be with you."

"How do you do it? How do you keep going when you lose someone you figured would always be there?" asked Caleb.

"Honestly? I've been asking myself the same question since I lost my birth parents," confessed Galen, "I still don't know the answer."

A few hours later.

Interior: Foundry, command centre.

"We need to tell the Council what's happened." stated Galen, "and I have a feeling he'd want Depa to have his lightsaber."

Caleb asked, "Won't the Sith just trace the transmission if they intercept it?"

"They're already coming." answered Plo, "unless the shift in the Foundry's allegiance in the Force has changed their minds."

"Kyle said the Emperor was sending a Dread Master somewhere.

I don't think he meant Malgus."

"Neither do I."

Interior: Foundry, hangar.

Carrying the body on a stretcher with Plo's help, Galen said, "Han, I have a job for you."

Solo pointed out, "Still haven't paid me for the last one."

"I need you to take this body back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant."

"I was getting bored of this place anyway." shrugged Han.

Galen turned to the Padawan, "Ad'ika, can you please accompany Mace's body back to Coruscant?

I need you to tell the Council what's happened, and tell Depa what Mace said in his final moments."

"Okay," softly replied Dume.

Barriss gently held Caleb's hand and looked into his teal blue eyes, "I'll come with you,"

"Thank you."

Later.

Exterior: Coruscant, Jedi temple, landing pad.

Disembarking with the corpse on a repulsor-lift bed, covered by a sheet, Caleb, Barriss, Han and Chewie were met by Depa.

As her child ran up to her, Depa embraced Caleb, and held him as if he were the most precious of treasures, whilst a tear trickled down her cheek.
