Chapter 3 JPOV
It's only been four days since we left Bella, but everything's falling apart. Edward called and said he's going to take some time for himself to grieve, Carlisle has been at the hospital the entire 4 days, Esme has gone into insane decorating mode that house is already done and she's already working on a garden, Emmett just sits and stares at a TV that isn't even turned on, Rosalie well she's as happy as a clam aside from Emmett, that's bugging her, and Alice is saying she's leaving soon to go to Alaska because she's tired of watching me and taking a snap at her best friend was the last straw. We signed the divorce papers last night. I mean I'm upset that that chapter of my life is over, but I'm not destroyed by it.
Just as I was thinking to go visit Peter and Charlotte my phone starts ringing and my eyes roll realizing that's the fucker now.
I pick up the phone but don't say a word. "No can do Major. One, the missus and I are on our way to Frisco. Two, I need you to stay there just a tiny bit longer. You'll know what to do when it happens. No, I don't know why you need to stay. I just know you need to do something about it." Peter says in one big go.
"Why in the world would you and Charlotte go to San Francisco of all places? That's almost as bad as going down South again."
"Don't know that either Major."
"Hunt before you get to the city, wear contacts, long sleeves, and everything Captain," I tell him slipping into Major mode.
All of a sudden I hear a human heartbeat and a quiet "Um… Hello?"
"I know what to do Major, but I believe that's your cue. Talk to you soon." Peter hangs up and I run downstairs.
Time skip after a phone call
Emmett was the first to speak. "What the hell was that?"
"Where did she go?" Esme
"Great. The human is back." Rosalie said receiving a glare from Emmett and Alice.
"I didn't see this." Alice.
"Everybody stop," Carlisle said in a firm voice. "Jasper knows what's going on, so let's give him a chance to speak. "Jasper?"
"Emmett, it's called astral projection. Basically, Bella projected her spirit here with us. Esme, Bella is still at home as you heard me on the phone. Alice, you didn't see it because Bella made no conscious decision to project herself. Carlisle before you ask the Charmed Ones are witches. The greatest force of good magic the world has ever known." I explain.
"Witches Jasper? I've been around 300 years and never come across evidence of anything of the sort." Carlisle replied.
"I know. When I came to this coven and I realized that was the case, I fought to keep it that way. I've kept us away from San Francisco which is where the Halliwell line has lived for a while. I've also kept tabs on them which is why I recognized the power Bella just displayed. The most powerful sister of the Charmed Ones, Prue Halliwell has astral projection capabilities. If Bella is displaying it that means, there is some connection there which is why she can trust them. I need to get to Bella and take her to the Charmed Ones as soon as possible because if she is displaying powers, it won't be long until others come for Bella." I tell them.
"Others?" Carlisle asks with curiosity.
"Demons, warlocks, and other things," I say bluntly.
"That's my sister we're coming with you!" Emmett says.
"Emmett. Let me make a call." I tell him and run out to the forest out of earshot and dial the number.
"Major. It's been a while. What can I do for you?"
"Turner. You know I want to live a peaceful life and I've turned to the animal stuff. I have a question. Has something happened that would have caused a human to display one of the eldest sister's powers?" I ask.
"She was assassinated by the Source's assassin, Shax. You have a human that has one of Prue's powers?"
"She is a friend of the family. I assure you no harm will come to the girl from me. I plan to bring her to the remaining sisters."
"As soon as I get a chance, I'll tell the girls to expect you, but don't let anyone come with you. It's Shax, he's still hunting."
"Shit! Okay. I got it. Thanks for the information. One more thing. For some reason, my brother and his mate are coming to the city. I don't know why."
"No feeding in the city Major."
"I already told him."
"Good. Get the girl to the sisters. I got to go."
"Thanks, Turner." I hung up and ran back to the house. The family was all sitting in the living room discussing how to get to Bella the fastest, but I already knew I was going to fly. "I'm sorry, but no one can come with me. It's too dangerous- even for me- but I'm the only one with training."
"Training? What kind of training?" Carlisle asked.
"I met a demon who is half-human a long time ago and he 'liked my spunk' and trained me in fighting demons. I usually can kill a lower lever demon, but he just told me the oldest Charmed One is dead. The demon who killed her is an upper-level demon and he is still hunting. I need to go get Bella now, because if this demon is after her…"
"Your ticket is waiting for you at the airport Jasper. Please keep her safe." Alice said handing me a bag that I assumed had clothes for the journey.
