2. Kieran's Duffy Redemption Finale Part 1

The Final Chapter Part 1:

Arthur draws his gun at the speed of light, soon followed by Micah.

"Dutch… Think!" Arthur says

"Dutch, think practical noww..." Micah replies

"DUTCH" a familiar shout is heard, by an injured and distraught John Marston, "You left me, you left me to die!"

"John, my boy, I didn't have a choice! John I didn't…" Dutch's reply is interrupted by John

"YOU! LEFT ME!"

Dutch realises that now; he has lost both of his sons. It's even man for himself now, or has it always been that way with Dutch?

"All of you, pick your side now, because this is over," Kieran rises from the spot where he's hiding Mary Beth, a redirects his gaze to Dutch. Who catches Kieran's glare, and gives back a strong stare, while slightly shaking his head in a motion saying, "Stay out of this."

"Allll of them years Dutch, for this snake?!"

"Be quiet black lung, be quiet you live in the clouds!" Micah says.

A frustrated Miss Grimshaw rises from her chair, "No you be quiet, Mr Bell, and put down your gun!"

"There's Pinkertons coming fast!" an exhausted Javier Escuella says rushing into the camp.

Kieran turns to Mary Beth, "Get out of here now, Mary, this ain't gonna be pretty…"

"B-but" Mary Beth says reluctantly

"Get out of here!" Kieran orders as he directs her towards the horse station.

Miss Grimshaw redirects her gaze for a second, before being fatally shot in the liver. Mary Beth turns back in horror, "Miss Gri-!" Kieran covers her mouth, and comforts her by kissing her head, trying to get her away unnoticed, and lifts her on the back of his stead, Bramwen, a flaxen roan horse who he had picked from as a reward from his days of shovelling the camp's horse shit and wiping down the tables, that reeked of liquor.

"Now!" Dutch bellows drawing his guns from his holster, "who amongst you, is with me! And who is betraying me!"

Sean approaches Dutch "Dutch?! What are you doing?! Micah has been a rat from day I tell ya! You're trusting someone you've known for 6 months over a man you've known over twenty years?! You're a right barrel of laughs Dutch Van Der Linde! What would Hosea think of you right now?" Sean says questioning Dutch, Dutch, in rage over the mention of Hosea, his brother.

Dutch makes his final decision and directs his revolvers at Sean and Arthur, Sean immediately draws his revolver, and takes Arthur's side.

Micah murdering Susan enraged Lenny, as he takes Arthur's side, exclusively pointing his Springfield rifle at Micah, as he still is loyal to Dutch, he is shortly followed by a crippled John Marston.

"Lenny? I saved your life! Traitor! All of yas!" Dutch says as both Javier and Bill take his side, Arthur then draws his second revolver from his holster to even the score ironically given to him by Micah Bell.

"You not coming?" Mary Beth says blushing, "I thought we was gonna run off together…" thinking back to all of the silly romance novels she read in her free time.

"Karen, can you please escort Mary to Valentine?" Kieran asks

"Sure, I'll keep her safe for you." Karen replies, Kieran nods and kisses Mary Beth's hand, smirks, then orders his horse away. As he makes a beeline for the rest of the gang.

"Ah, Mr Duffy." Dutch says in an inviting tone.

"Kieran, think. You're a smart kid now." Arthur says.

Kieran draws his revolver and reluctantly joins Dutch, in fear that he will be forever known as a traitor.

"Bill, Javier, Kieran! Think for yourselfs!" Arthur shouts.

"He's lying, he's lying!" Micah cackles.

Kieran stops and thinks, what would Mary Beth do? Without even being on Dutch's side for ten seconds, he does a 180 and points his gun at Micah.

Arthur redirects his gaze slightly to Kieran, a bit confused and surprised he took his side.

"I always knew you was a rat, Mr Duffy. I always did." Dutch begins, enraged. "FIRST YOU TURN YOUR BACK ON COLM, NOW YOU TURN YOUR BACK ON ME!"

A silence falls, both parties waiting for the first move…

"PUT YOUR GUNS DOWN!"

Well, what did you think? I thought it was pretty cool, just keep in mind this is at the end of the fan fic, to show what happens that changes from the original timeline. I'm still sort of depressed, but hey, I loved doing this!
