"So, it is true, Drago now possesses the element than. And that Neo Zipzam is gone"
Fabia nodded in confirmation "Unfortunately so, we did all we could but…it wasn't enough"
Queen Serena sighed, a solemn look on her face "I'm afraid I have bad news of my own to give you. We lost the second shield and…Captain Elright was captured by the Gundalians in the last battle we fought with them"
"WHAT!"
Serena hurriedly put a finger to her lips to shush her, giving a quick glance in the other direction. Fabia covered her mouth with her hands and slowly stepped out of the small alcove that the two of them had hidden in. Looking over to the centre of the throne room, she let out a sigh of relief at seeing the brawlers still waiting there, luckily, they didn't hear her. Although…the guards closest to them were giving their direction a concerned glance
The queen had a bemused expression as she watched her sister retreat back to their hiding place
Fabia turned to her sister, determined look in her eyes as she spoke "We have to go and save him right away". But as she spoke her sister shook her head, the corners of her mouth quirking up
"There's no need. A…volunteer has already gone ahead to retrieve him"
"Volunteer?"
The queen watched as a series of emotions drew on her sister's face: Bewilderment, realisation before finally settling on horror
"You didn't" gasped Fabia, giving Serena a dirty look. Queen be damned Serena was her sister first
"How could you do that, to Captain Elright of all people. I thought you loved him"
The princess totally did not feel any satisfaction at the faint blush across her sister's face at the mention of her older sister's crush
"Of course not!" chided Serena sternly, glowering at Fabia's giggling form. "He volunteered; besides he had already left before I could stop him"
"Poor Elright" giggled Fabia "He's never going to live this down
Serena laughed softly "Perhaps not" she then inclined her head to the direction of their guests "Have you told them? From what Daniel has told me they did not have the best relationship in the past"
Fabia winced slightly "Not yet, Dan and I were hoping to tell Marucho and Shun soon. So, this might be the best opportunity whilst he's not here"
The queen nodded in approval "Very well then. You should go back to your friends and make your way to the sacred shrine"
"Right" Fabia bowed quickly and stated to exit the alcove, she was suddenly stopped short as she heard Serena call her name
The bluenette turned around and all of a sudden, she was enveloped in warmth. The princess quickly returned her sister's hug, feeling Serena's lips lightly kiss the top of her head
Serena smiled softly as she pulled away, her hand reached out to tuck a stray hair behind Fabia's hair
"Now you may go"
After Fabia regrouped with her friends, she led them down to the underground tunnels beneath the castle
"Woah"
The trio of humans suddenly stopped, the princess noticed the sudden motion and swivelled around to face them
"What the matter, why are you stopping"
The boy did not answer her, too focused at what was above her instead
"What is that Fabia? It looks like some kind of dragon" questioned Marucho as he stared at the massive stone structure above them
"Whatever it is its creepy. I don't think we should be here" murmured Jake, a tremor of alarm in his voice
Fabia glanced upwards, seeing what they meant she turned back to them with a reassuring look "Relax its just a gargoyle to scare people off so they won't snoop. We don't want to draw attention to the shrine's location"
The girl than proceeded to continue walking forward, heading inside a cavern entrance beneath the gargoyle. Marucho and Jake hesitated before following her
Shun took one last look at the gargoyle, the hair on the back of his neck standing up. It felt like the stone statue was watching his every move
After crossing mother safeguard, which was kind of interesting, Shun made a note of it to put into his training. Walking on water sounded pretty cool, although the pure of heart part sounded a bit cliché
The group finally entered a large chamber, the crystal walls shining in different colours. There was a large pedestal in the room, on it was a massive orb
"What is that?" questioned Shun
"That is the sacred orb, a revered object here on Neathia and the origin of all bakugan. Inside it contains the original DNA codes for each bakugan" explained Fabia
The humans gazed in wonder
"Wow! The origin of all—! Huh, Akwimos!"
The brawlers watched as their bakugan's bodies started to glow
"Dude, this thing is the sauce!" Shouted Akwimos as he and the other bakugan floated closer to the orb, a strange sensation moving through them as they reacted to the orb's energy. Only Aranaut was not surprised by it
"Every part of me is tingling" "It's like I'm going to burst, but I never felt so good"
Marucho felt a sense of sudden déjà vu, stepping closer to Shun he whispered quietly to him "Haven't we seen this before, it feels really similar"
Shun nodded in agreement "Yeah, the perfect core's energy"
Their hushed conversation was interrupted as Fabia started speaking
"Barodius, the empower of Gundalia wants to get his hands on this so he can twist its powers and use them for his own evil purposes"
The ninja's forehead furrowed "I don't understand" said Shun as he turned his head to Fabia "I thought you told us earlier that the Gundalians were after the element"
"The element is just a portion of the power that is present inside the orb. Barodius did want to possess it, but only for the temporary advantage it would have provided him in his battle against us" explained Fabia
Her expression then grew serious "But now that it has been absorbed by Drago, there's no doubt he would set his sights on the orb, I'm convinced that the orb has been his original target all along. And if he manages to get his hands on it, then he will not only possess its power but also the ability to control every bakugan in existence, since their DNA codes are contained within"
The gravity of her words sunk in, the brawlers realising what they had gotten themselves into. It wasn't just Neathia or earth that was at stake, everything the that the brawlers and the bakugan worked for was. From the threat of Naga to New Vestroia, this affected everyone in the whole universe
"That's not going to happen" declared Shun "We're here now to help you fight, there's no. Way we're going to let that happen"
"Yeah, not a chance!" "You can count on us princess"
Fabia looked at them in surprise, before a look of gratitude settles on her face
"Thank you"
The smiles she received where heart-warming

The princess blinked, What was that?
Shun and Marucho turned to Jake with deadpan expressions, the footballer having gone bright red and a sheepish look on his face as he rubbed his stomach
"Eh…Sorry my bad"
Giggles started to escape Fabia and soon everyone else started joining in, what an icebreaker that was
"Why don't we get something to eat, and then I'll take you on a quick tour of the castle"
The nods were all she needed, and they were all heading out of the sacred orb shrine
"So that was the training hall, last on our tour is where you'll be staying. This used to be a guest wing for visiting dignitaries, but since this war started, we haven't received many for quite some time"
It was late evening by the time the group had finished, it had been a long day for them
"There's five rooms that connect to a common room, the rooms can hold up to two people each. Right now, Dan and Linus have their own room, so there's three rooms left. Just take your pick"
As Fabia explained the layout, behind her and Jake Shun and Marucho had their own silent conversation over who buddied up, it ended in a game of rock, paper, scissors. They stopped when Fabia halted in front of a doorway and turned on her heel to face them, her hands clasped behind her back
"And here is our stop" she spoke cheerily "I'll let you guys settle in, if you need anything my is not that far from here but the guards should help you, Dan should also be back soon. Just rest for tonight and tomorrow we'll talk about a strategy"
"Thanks Fabia you've been a really big help to us" thanked Marucho
Fabia smiled "It's no problem" she said before stepping away from the door to let the boys through
Marucho took the first step forward to open the door, but just as he moved the door opened up
Thud!
The colour drained from Fabia's face, panic assailing her
Oh snap! Serena said he wasn't here
Rubbing his forehead from the sudden impact, Marucho slowly rose back to his feet. And looked up to apologise to the person he crashed into, he failed to hear Shun's sharp intake of breath
"I'm really sorry I—!..."
Huh? Marucho blinks his voice trailed off as he stared at the figure in front of him
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!"
