Chapter 3: A Bloody Warning
As Elias made his way through the woods, he couldn't help but feel annoyed that Simon could be calling him at this time. Yes, the letter did say it was an emergency but still. Elias wouldn't be too bothered about this if it wasn't on the night of his wedding. Then again, it wasn't like the wedding was planned, it just kind of happened. Not that Elias minded, he loved it.
Hopefully this, "emergency", is worth my time. If not, I will have a serious discuss with Simon. Elias thought to himself.
?: "Hello, Ainsworth." A mysterious voice called from the woods.
Elias stopped dead in his tracks and pulled out his wand.
"Who goes there!? Show yourself!" Elias called.
?: "Turn around, Ainsworth."
Elias cautiously turned around, only to see a human-like figure, covered by a cloak and hood. Elias was unable to see any of this figure's facial features due to the darkness of the hood. The only thing Elias could see of this figure's face was 2 bright red eyes. This figure seemed to be around Simon's height.
"Who are you?" Elias asked.
?: "Oh, no, no, no, no. Not yet Ainsworth."
"Is that you Simon?" Elias asked, wondering if this was some sort of joke or prank, or whatever humans called it.
?: "(Chuckle) Do I LOOK or SOUND like Simon to you?"
Come to think of it, not only did this figure not sound like Simon at all, their voice also sounded rather... unnatural. Almost like it was being modified.
"What do you want with me, stranger?" Elias asked.
?: "Oh, I don't need anything from you. I just want one thing."
"And what is that?" Elias asked.
?: "I want Chise Hatori... dead."
"... what!?" Elias asked as he clenched his fist.
?: "That's right. I want to give her a slow and painful death! I will give that bitch what she deserves. You know, it would have been more entertaining if she had been bought by a bunch of human trafficker's rather than an ancient magus or whatever the fuck you are. But no, she HAS to be special! What is so god damn special about that lying skank!? You think she's had a rough life!? HA! She hasn't experienced shit! I'm going to end her miserable life!"
"You dare threaten my bride, and I'll-." Elias started before he was cut off.
?: "SILENCE! I'm going to stop you right there, Ainsworth. You listen here... if you try to get in my way of killing that bitch, you will end up like THIS!" the figure yelled as they threw something on the ground in front of Elias.
Elias looked down at his feet and was shocked and disgusted to see the bloody and mangled corpse of... Ariel. Her body looked like it had been cut up by sharp claws. Her neck had a huge gash, it looked like her head could be easily torn off of her body. Her eyes were gouged out, one of her arms was missing and both her wings were cut so badly, you couldn't even tell they were wings on her back.
"Aerial... oh my god! No! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" Elias shouted.
?: "(Chuckle) Oh, yeah, that letter you got from Simon, well news flash, I was the one who sent you the letter. I wanted to warn you to stay out of my way."
"WHERE IS SIMON!?" Elias asked.
?: "Oh, don't worry, I haven't hurt Simon... yet."
"You better not lay a finger on him or anyone!" Elias growled.
?: "And YOU better not get in my way!"
Elias said nothing as he glared at the red eyes staring back at him.
?: "Also, if you tell Chise about our little meeting or about this tooth fairy thing that I killed... bad shit is going to happen, and I MEAN IT!"
"You do not scare me." Elias said.
?: "(Chuckle) Does it look like I care about you being afraid of me? Well, I DON'T! I came to warn you to stay out of my way. Now go home old man. Maybe go fuck your wife, (Laughs). You damn pedophile."
"Who are you calling a pedo?" Elias asked.
?: "Well, Chise isn't exactly 18, now is she? NO! She's still a kid dumbass! And your like what, over 1,000 years old?"
"Die." Elias said.
?: "(Chuckle) Well, goodbye old man. Next we meet, there will be hell to pay. Goodbye."
Elias was about to launch an attack on the mysterious figure before the figure threw a small ball-like object on the floor. After a couple seconds, the ball exploded and smoke blew all over the place.
"Come back, you coward!" Elias yelled.
?: "We will meet again very soon. See you around Ainsworth."
Elias could only helplessly listen as the found of footsteps grew quieter and quieter. As soon as the woods were silent again, Elias bent down and picked up Ariel's body.
"I am sorry. I promise I will avenge you; and when the time is right, I will revive you." Elias said as he began to walk back home. Elias planned to bury the body when he returned home.
