A/N: Sorry about the unintended hiatus, burn out from work and just life in general is something I'm still struggling with. I'll try to use my long breaks at work to continue writing when I can.
Disclaimer: I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn! or Storm Hawks.
The Lost Prince of Vongola
"You sure you don't want to register with us Tsuna? Just because you're a cook doesn't mean that you aren't a valued part of the team." Aerrow says, the brunet shook his head. "I just make sure you all have edible food. I'm not much of a fighter. I'm sure you guys will pass with flying colors!" Tsuna says with a grin. Radarr chirped as Tsuna scratched behind one of his ears.
"Make sure you have a feast ready when we get back. Cause we are gonna par-tay!" Finn cheers, pulling Tsuna into a headlock.
"Well, if you're sure. We'll be back soon." Aerrow says, watching in amusement as Tsuna squirmed out of Finn's grip.
Stork gave Tsuna a look. "Make sure the Condor is intact when we get back."
"Come on Stork, you make it sound like he's Finn." Piper teased. "Hey! I could totally pilot this ship if I wanted to." The blond huffed.
"Sure you could buddy." Junko says, dragging his friend behind him.
As his friends walked out of the airship, Tsuna sighed. He remembered the days when he'd wanted to be a Sky Knight. But if anyone allied with Cyclonia knew that he was still alive, the Storm Hawks would have a target on their backs. There was a faint meow as Natsu, one of the few things to remind him of home, licked his face with a concerned expression.
"I know Natsu, I wonder how they're doing as well. I can only hope they got off Terra Phyrria before it was destroyed." Tsuna says, petting the lion cub's head. A pair of mittens hung on the stove handle, the bright gems taunting him. "We can only hope."

When the Storm Hawks returned, there was a depressed atmosphere around them. "I take it the registration didn't go so well?" Tsuna asks.
"Apparently they just see us as children and not the awesome team that we clearly are." Finn huffed.
"We could try to register later." Piper suggests.
"Yeah, in a couple years." Finn grumbled.
"Well I, for one, am happy NOT to be putting the Condor in danger." Stork says.
"Well then, we'll just have to prove ourselves. No one said that becoming an official team was going to be easy. At least we got to meet the Red Eagles." Aerrow says.
"You know, for a famous team they sure were a bunch of jerks." Junko says.
"Maybe they were just busy." Piper suggests.
There was a loud rumble that shook the Condor. "Weren't the skies clear just a few minutes ago?" Tsuna asks, already starting to feel one of his infamous headaches. Stork just deadpanned. "We're gonna die, aren't we?"
"We are not going to die. We might be in a bit of trouble though." Tsuna says. "If I get a migraine, then we worry."
"There must be something wrong with the Aurora Stone!" Piper exclaims.
Aerrow gave Tsuna an apologetic look. "We'll check it out. You and Stork stay on the Condor."
Stork sighed in relief. Tsuna nodded. "Just call if you need any backup."

Tsuna sighed in relief when the Storm Hawks arrived unscathed. But there was still a nagging feeling that they were still in danger. "I can't believe that Carver was a spy for Cyclonia." Piper says, shaking her head.
Aerrow placed a hand on her shoulder. "Look on the bright side, we stopped him didn't we?"
"Yeah, and that Lightning Claw was awesome!" Finn yells.
"It won't be the last attempt." Tsuna says solemnly, hands tightened into fists. "Cyclonia has dangerous allies."
The squadron looked at Tsuna with a mix of confusion and concern. "Tsuna, you alright?" Aerrow asks.
The cook shook his head. "My teacher would kill me if he knew I was cowering instead of fighting. Natsu, get my gloves." The lion cub chirped, running into the kitchen.
"Why would you need oven mitts?" Junko asks in confusion.
"Cyclonia destroyed my home terra. I won't sit and watch them destroy another." Tsuna says as his eyes gained an eerie orange glow. The group of kids took him in when he was at the lowest point of his life, it was time that he repaid the favor.
"Not that we don't appreciate the help," Aerrow began.
"But aren't you just a cook?" Finn asks, giving Tsuna a suspicious look.
"My father was a Sky Knight and I had a tutor growing up to groom me for the same position. Training got cut short when Terra Pyhrria was attacked, somehow grandfather knew what was going to happen and sent me away. Last I heard the terra crashed into the Waste Lands and Cyclonia was searching for any survivors." Tsuna admits.
The Storm Hawks looked at Tsuna in surprise. He'd been aboard the Condor for three years and this was the first time anyone heard about this.
"What squadron was he from?" Aerrow asks curiously.
"Blazing Phoenix." Tsuna says, remembering when his father introduced him to the squad. Lal Mirch, the sharpshooter, Tumeric with heavy artillery, Oregano the navigator and others whose names faded into obscurity. They had been the first line of defense for his home terra.
Natsu trotted back into the room and dropped the mittens at Tsuna's feet, looking up at his partner expectantly. "Wait, can I see those for a minute?" Piper asks, seeing something on the fabric glisten. Tsuna looked hesitant but handed them over.
Piper's eyes widened. "These are shards of a phoenix crystal and blizzard crystal! But why put them in a pair of mittens?" She asks, Tsuna grinned sheepishly. "Using an energy blade doesn't feel right to me. So my father put them in a pair of gloves so I could punch opponents instead. Just don't ask me how they transform into gauntlets, I have no clue either." He says.
"Like I said before, you're still part of the team. Just don't do anything too risky." Aerrow says with a grin.
He should be the last person saying that. Piper thought, thinking back to his earlier maneuver of going into the Wastelands.
"I can't make any promises but I'll try."
