A/N: Had some time during my break to add the finishing touches to this and decided to publish it. Hopefully there will be more ideas soon. Enjoy!

Detective Trained, Mafia Tested

Tsuna was truly his mother's son. If it weren't for the fact the boy was the spitting image of Giotto, Reborn would've thought Nana Sawada found a way to clone a male version of herself.

Besides Tsuna and his mother, there were three other boys that were living in the house with them. All of them, including Tsunayoshi, were flame active. The Rain was helping Nana cook breakfast while the Sun set the table. The Mist was visibly trying to keep his eyes open, leaning on the shorter Tsunayoshi.

"Mukuro, I am not your personal headrest!" Tsuna hissed, Mukuro yawned and gave a tired grin. "But you're the perfect height."

Ken, the Sun, snickered. "You could just move." Tsuna glared at Ken. Mukuro was more sadistic whenever he was sleep deprived. He wanted to start his day without any nightmare fuel!

Chikusa rolled his eyes, turning off the burner he was using and leading Mukuro to an empty chair.

"Thanks Chikusa, at least someone here cares about my sanity!"

Chikusa nodded and smacked the back of Ken's head. "Ouch! I only poked fun at him a little! Cut me some slack!" Ken whines.

The teen ignored the blond, sitting down in his own chair while Tsuna snickered. Reborn's brow furrowed, he was already getting contradictions from Iemitsu's profile on his son. He looked nothing like the timid son the man thought the teen was. What else had the moron overlooked? The teens all let out a collective sigh of relief as the hitman went to a secure location to properly chew Iemitsu out.

"Do you think it'll be back?" Tsuna asks, wondering how an A rank demon got into the human world. Mukuro huffed. "That wasn't a demon, that was a human."

Tsuna just shrugged. "So another criminal then. Too bad he doesn't fall under my jurisdiction."

When Reborn finished yelling at Iemitsu, he followed Tsuna on his route to school. "Good morning Kusakabe-san!" Tsuna cheerfully greeted a pompadoured teen. The delinquent's stern gaze softened. "Morning Sawada. Anything unusual happening today?" Tsuna looked thoughtful. "Nothing that uncle and I can't handle. But I'll call if anything comes up."

"The last time you said that three teachers went missing under mysterious circumstances." Kusakabe says with a raised eyebrow, Tsuna winced. "They were not model citizens and my uncle took offense at their overall existence. You know how it is."

Kusakabe sighed. "Don't cause too much property damage then."

Reborn watched the exchange with interest. "Seems Iemitsu wasn't the only one keeping their spouse in the dark." He noted as Tsuna gave Kusakabe a sympathetic pat on the shoulder. "I'll try to keep the damage to a minimum."

Tsuna gave polite greetings to everyone from the Disciplinary Committee while other students avoided the former delinquents like the plague. A majority of the pompadoured teens had a soft spot for him, lightly ruffling his hair before going back to their morning duties.

"Tsu-kun!" The brunet was nearly suffocated by an energetic girl. "Fubuki-chan, I need to breathe." Tsuna wheezed, sighing in relief as her older brother Kaisei pulled her off of him. "Sorry, you know how she gets around anything cute. Your ribs still intact?" The older teen asks in a bored tone, his sister pouted. "I would never hurt Tsu-kun. Unless it's for training." Fubuki says, sticking out her tongue.

"You keep forgetting about your ridiculous man strength." Kaisei states.

"What did you just say?! Stupid skirt chaser!"

Tsuna just sighed. He was starting to see why his uncle often called him a babysitter for the Sanada siblings. The moment the teacher assigned seats in alphabetical order he was stuck with them.

Other than Tsuna being on friendly terms with the school delinquents, he was painfully average. The only class he seemed to excel in was home economics. Reborn had a lot of work to do.

Tsuna sighed in relief as the presence shadowing him outside the school vanished. There was no killing intent but whoever it was had a lot of power. "At least it isn't another assassin out to kill me and Mom. No need to get Hibari involved yet."

Fubuki's brow furrowed. "And it isn't a demon either. Maybe your stupid birth father finally decided to assign your family protection?"

Tsuna winced. "If that's the case then it's too little, too late. Uncle still wants to kill him."

"Killing is his answer to everything." Kaisei says dryly.

"Can you really blame him?" Tsuna deadpanned. "You make it sound like your uncle is the only bloodthirsty one in your family." Fubuki says with a slight shiver, remembering the family "garden." "Mom's side of the family are literal demons, what did you expect?"

Nana Sawada took a flyer out of the mailbox, looking at it with visible confusion. "A tutor?" She gave a well-practiced dazed smile, aware of the eyes watching her. If this was related to her "dear husband" she knew exactly what Iemitsu had attempted to twist her into. An air headed housewife that would be oblivious to the danger around her. And that is what the hitman would expect. "And all they're asking for is lodging, how wonderful! I can't wait to show them my garden."

Her smile stayed in place until she sensed the small human leave. In its place was a bloodthirsty grin. She walked to a withered tree, patting the trunk affectionately. "How thoughtful of Iemitsu to send more plant food." One of the twisted branches attempted to wrap around her wrist before she gently reprimanded it. "You can eat soon, just be patient dear."

Tsuna sighed; Mochida was trying to ask out Kyoko again. For accusing her brother of being a skirt chaser, Fubuki was oblivious to the faults of one of Namimori Middle's more popular students. The teen was more two-faced than a futakuchi-onna. "Okaa-san, I'm home!" He announced, taking off his shoes. His gaze sharpened, the scent of gun powder and espresso registering before the soft, barely audible footsteps of a small human. Great, the human followed me home. Tsuna thought. Mom must not have seen him as a threat.

Nana peaked her head around the corner, giving her son a bright smile. "Welcome home Tsuna! Anything interesting happen in school today?" She asks, placing the pan she was holding on a nearby table. Tsuna let out a quiet whine as Nana kissed his forehead affectionately. "Not much unless you consider my urge to punch Mochida for harassing Kyoko again." Tsuna grumbles.

"I'm sure your boss wouldn't mind if you punched someone dear. Remember Yusuke-kun?" Nana asks, Tsuna snorted. "Okaa-san, he was a delinquent to begin with. He doesn't pull his punches with anyone he fights which was why he was hired in the first place. Someone in my friend group needs to be the levelheaded one after all."

"Kurama is a wonderful role model as well." Nana states before switching over to her air headed persona. "A letter came in the mail this morning. Your father hired a tutor for you, isn't that wonderful?" Nana asks, giving a dreamy sigh.

Tsuna deadpanned. Was his father really stupid enough to think he could send a human that appeared to be an infant as his tutor without being questioned? Mom is going to have fun with this one. Tsuna thought, not pitying the man at all. "What did Mukuro, Ken and Chikusa think about this?" He asks, wondering where his adoptive brothers were. Nana sighed. "The boys just dropped by to tell me they were going to the arcade before they left. Such a shame, the tutor is such a gentleman." Nana gushed.

So Mukuro and his brothers took one look at this guy and noped the fuck out of the house. I might need to call uncle after all. Tsuna thought with a sigh. Or maybe Hibari, he always appreciated a good challenge.

"If it's alright with you okaa-san, then it's fine with me. As long as it doesn't interfere with my job."

Tsuna took everything back, he wanted to tear out the small human's throat. "I am not going to be a criminal. I am a detective in training, it is literally the opposite direction that I am trying to take my life in." He growled, not intimidated by the chameleon shapeshifting into a gun. The air around him dropped several degrees and frost slowly crept towards Reborn.

"Unless you want your mentor dead you'll-" Tsuna gave a bitter laugh. "We know very well how merciless you people can be, especially to those you view weaker than yourselves. Torturing for your own gain, manipulating out of pure selfishness. The current head wants to manipulate what he sees as a clueless civilian to be the sort of leader he can puppet for his own purposes. If it deals with bloodline tell my father that he can have the famiglia he chose over us. I'll be the one that throws him in jail."

Reborn mentally cursed. It seemed that Iemitsu had really screwed up this time. Not only was his family aware that he was a criminal, but they also had a reasonable grudge against the underworld. He would have to break this boy to get any sort of cooperation and he doubted that Timoteo would want that. There were a lot of unknown variables that he needed to look into, especially any records involving Nana's family. Little did he know the wasp nest that he was about to agitate.
