Beginning A/N: And here we are, everyone, with the newest chapter! I hope that you all are ready to see some Kaiju vs Kaiju action, because it's gonna be epic! Well, as epic as I can make it, at least. As I've said before I'm not the best at writing fight scenes for my stories. But I will try to deliver to you all a fight scene that you can all be proud of. Although, that might have to wait until next chapter, because this not only took me a long time to get around to, but I have also found myself at an impasse as to what I want to do with this story. Do I want to have Izuku become a member of the Titanus Gojira species? Or do I want him to become a new Shin Godzilla? Or perhaps some sort of Titanus Gojira/Shin Godzilla hybrid? Or even a member of the Space Godzilla subspecies? I'll probably set up a poll to decide what to do about it, and then commission an artist I know for some fan art of the actual Kaiju. But anyway, let's get started, shall we?
Disclaimer: I still don't own My Hero Academia or Godzilla!
A Titan Rises!
A month has passes since little Izuku Midoriya learned the terrible truth about himself being quirkless, and he was absolutely miserable. All of the other kids at school began to tease and bully him because he doesn't have a quirk. Even Katsuki Bakugo, his friend since they were babies, has begun to use his quirk to physically assault the poor lad and never gets in trouble for it because the teachers do absolutely nothing to stop it! There was one teacher, however, who did try to put a stop to it. Miss Nekonome was her name, and she was the kindest teacher that Izuku has ever had. And she had absolutely zero tolerance for bullying in general, and especially if the one being bullied is quirkless.
After all, she'd be hypocritical to do otherwise since her husband is quirkless.
Unfortunately, her refusal to allow the students to do as they wished to, what the principal deemed a worthless quirkless child, resulted in her being fired and replaced with someone that the principal knew would be the exact opposite of Miss Nekonome.
Lucky for her, she was able to land a very high paying job at Monarch who knew that she could be a guiding light for the next generation. Even if it seemed like those without quirks would eventually fade out with everyone in the world being born with superpowers. But the point still stands, it's only made Izuku's life all the more difficult and torturous because of the corrupt individuals in places of power.
Inko saw how her son was growing more and more depressed by the day, and it broke her heart to see her baby boy falling so deep into a depression that he couldn't pull himself out of. She tried to be there for him, she honestly did, but there was only so much she could do for her son as a single mother.
Did I mention that Izuku's father, Hisashi Midoriya, left Izuku and his mother soon after learning that his son was quirkless?
Anyway, that led us to where we are now.
Inko had chosen to take her son to the local park in hopes that the fresh air would help him a little bit. Unfortunately, this idea proved to backfire. None of the other kids wanted to play with the 'quirkless freak', or 'deku', as Izuku's former friend Katsuki had taken to calling him. So, the boy sat alone on the swingset just sitting there with silent tears falling from his eyes as his feet just dangled from the swing. He didn't even notice someone coming towards him until a shadow fell over him.
"Hey, little guy. You okay?" asked a man's voice.
"Not really." Izuku replied.
"You're not joining the fun?" the mystery man asked.
Izuku just shook his head in response.
"Can you say why?" the man asked again.
"What does it matter? No one cares about a quirkless deku like me." he said with a little anger.
The mystery man just scoffed and said, "That's stupid. People are treating you bad just because you don't have a quirk? It seems as though I'm going to have to bring this to the President's attention for the next meeting of the U.N.".
That got Izuku to finally look up and his eyes lit up like a tree on Christmas day! Standing right before him was a man who had features very similar to the famous pre-quirk movie monster, Godzilla! Specifically, Millennium Era Godzilla! The skin on his face, forearms, and lower legs was covered in thick, charcoal black hide that looked rough to the touch, his eyes burned an atomic orange color, and he had rows of jagged dorsal spines that looked like maple leaves with vibrant violet edges going down his spine and down the length of the tail that grew from the base of his spine. For clothes, he wore a pair of baggy, dark red pants with bandages wrapped around his feet for protection and showed the claws that grew in place of human toenails. He also wore a black muscle shirt with red and orange flame designs, as well as golden armor on his shoulders, and a pair of criss-crossing red belts across his upper body.
"Wow, you look just like Gojiro, the Millennium Era Hero from America!" exclaimed Izuku.
The man just chuckled and said, "That's because I am Gojiro."
"I can't believe I didn't recognize your voice! You're the sidekick to the Heisei Hero: Godzillo, who debuted as his own hero only two months ago! And you're already ranked number thirty on the American hero board! You… are… awesome!" rambled Izuku.
Gojiro just laughed at the energy that the boy now exuded. It reminded him so much about the joys of childhood, and how easily one seems to forget what it's like to be a kid once they grow up. It's one thing that Gojiro made a personal mission of his. To never forget what it was like to be a kid.
"Come on, kiddo, I'm not that great. After all, I may be a hero but I'm only human." Gojiro said.
"Izuku, are you okay, sweetie?" Inko asked as she jogged over before noticing Gojiro. "Oh, hello. Who are you?"
Standing up, Gojiro introduced himself to the elder Midoriya woman and said that it was a pleasure to make her acquaintance. Which naturally caused Inko to become flustered at the fact that she was in the presence of a visiting American pro hero.
"So, your son tells me that he's quirkless, hm? And that he's been treated poorly by those around him as a result of it?" Gojiro asked.
Inko grew saddened as she replied, "Oh, he told you about that, huh? Yes, I'm afraid it's all true. Izuku has always wanted to be a hero like All Might, who saves everyone with a smile on his face, but then we went to the doctors for a quirk examination. That's how we learned that Izuku would never develop a quirk due to him having a second joint in his pinky toe. I've been doing what I can, but there's only so much I can do on my own, especially since his father left us once he learned that Izuku wouldn't ever develop a quirk."
Gojiro raised an eyebrow at her explanation.
"You have no friends of the family to turn to for support? No one in your son's age group who wouldn't care whether he has a quirk or not?" Gojiro asked.
Izuku looked down and quietly said, "There used to be Kacchan…"
"Who?" Gojiro asked.
"He's talking about Katsuki Bakugo. Katsuki is the son of my best friend, practically my sister, Mitsuki Bakugo. He and Izuku have known each other practically since they were babies and they used to be as close as brothers. But that all changed once Katsuki developed a quirk and Izuku didn't." Inko explained. "Katsuki gained a mix of his mother and father's quirks causing him to secrete a substance similar to nitroglycerin as a form of sweat, which he can then ignite from his palms to create explosions. But ever since Izuku was diagnosed as quirkless, Katsuki has become my son's biggest tormentor."
"Have your son's teachers done absolutely nothing to curb this behavior in the boy?" Gojiro asked, referring to Katsuki.
Inko scoffed and said, "Only one ever has. And she was fired for standing up for a quirkless child."
Gojiro inhaled deeply before exhaling through his nostrils.
"If I may be blunt with you two, your country's obsession with quirks is just downright ridiculous. Almost everyone around here seems to firmly believe that all it takes to be a hero is to have a powerful or flashy quirk. But they are, in fact, wrong!" Gojiro said.
That took the two Midoriyas by surprise. They certainly hadn't been expecting the American hero to say something like that. Gojiro knelt down to look Izuku in the eye and put a hand on the four-year old's shoulder as he gave him a friendly grin that almost reminded Izuku of All Might.
"Forget about what those naysayers tell you, Izuku. Because I firmly believe that you, young one, can be a hero. Whether you have a quirk, or not." Gojiro declared.
Izuku stood there in shock at what the hero had said… and began to cry tears of happiness. Finally, here was someone who openly supported his dream of being a hero! And he was a pro hero to boot! Izuku couldn't stop himself from tackling the Millennium Era Hero into a hug as he cried into his shirt. Gojiro just smiled and embraced the boy much like an older brother would as Izuku cried out his pent-up frustrations.
"That's it, kiddo. Let it all out." he said.
Later that night, after bidding adieu to the American hero, Izuku was sound asleep in his room after a long day with his spirits renewed. Resting upon his wall was a framed T-shirt of Gojiro and Godzillo standing back-to-back, autographed by the very same hero who had shown him more support for his dream than most everyone. The lad was so tired that he hadn't even stirred as his bedroom window was opened… and he was snatched from his bed by a hooded figure.
"My master says that you will be instrumental to his super soldier project. Let's see if what he says is true." said the hooded figure.
And thus, they disappeared into the night, having succeeded in their mission. But little Izuku's story doesn't end here.
This was just the beginning!
~Four Months Later~
A squad of heroes had been deployed at the behest of the Prime Minister of Japan when he was tipped off by a friend in the Government branch known as Monarch that a mad scientist had gotten his hand on a chunk of flesh from the now deceased Shin Godzilla, and had been using it to create super soldiers, starting by experimenting on a quirkless child who went missing four months ago. A quirkless child who Gojiro knew well. It was none other than Izuku Midoriya. And when he heard of the lad's kidnapping, Gojiro was furious, and basically demanded to be put on the case to rescue the child along with any other survivors of these atrocious experiments. The Prime Minister trusted this information, and against the HPSC's insistence that these warnings be ignored, assembled a team of heroes to raid the lab and, if possible, free any surviving test subjects.
Currently on the scene were the pro heroes known as Hawks, Eraserhead, Endeavor, and an American pro hero known as the Millennium Era Hero: Gojiro, not to be confused with his very similar Japanese counterpart and occasional partner, Godzillo.
"Hey, Gojiro, are you sure this information your friend gave you is accurate?" Hawks asked.
The hero in question looked back to Hawks and stated firmly, "Yes sir. I trust my friend completely. Right now, we need to keep our wits and instincts sharp. We are going into enemy territory, you know."
Now that his quirk wasn't activated, we can see that Gojiro was a Hispanic American young man that went by the name of Daniel E. Rodriguez Jr., but he preferred to be called DJ. He was an average guy to those who knew him, and he was a Christian that was deep in the faith.
In fact, it was his faith in God that helped him when he discovered his Quirk ability which was to transform into a hybrid-form and full-Kaiju form of one of his most favorite giant monsters as a kid, which was Godzilla! His faith and trust in God helped him to see that his ability was a gift for a reason, something extending beyond his own thoughts and reasoning.
It was this that he did his best with the Quirk ability, and also like Godzilla, he suffered many defeats along with victories. But he learned this from his grandmother, Lillie Espurvoa & his father, Daniel Garza Rodriguez Sr., and it was these words: Strength comes not from winning every battle, but from continuing to fight despite the losses.
He continued to press on, doing his best for God and others. DJ was in a very bad place after the passing away of his father, his aunt Michelle and also his grandmother. The loss of his most beloved family members had hit him hard... but he managed to rise back up and continue to do his best with his responsibilities and duties as a hero.
DJ loved to watch classic cartoons, play retro video games and also liked to write stories. He was also hot-blooded when it came to the fair and fine opposite sex, but also shy to them because in his view, women were direct blessings from God. Beautiful and wonderful blessings, and he often had low self-confidence in himself due to his looks. But he was still hopeful to find that special little lady, his better half that was made for him, just as he was made just for her.
"I don't see why we need this foreigner's help against some old coot in a lab coat, or why we should trust his friend in the government. I say we just bust in and take this guy down." said the ever-irritable Flame Hero, Endeavor.
This prompted a scowl from DJ. He never did like Endeavor as he found the man's behavior to be more villainous than heroic, but the man had good lawyers and friends in high places, so he was virtually untouchable. But DJ swore he would find a way to remove this filth from heroics. Especially after hearing several rumors about the man's family life and how he treated his wife as basically a broodmare for the sole purpose of creating a child with the perfect quirk that he could use as a tool to surpass All Might.
"It would be illogical to rush in without knowing what we're truly up against. Gojiro's had more experience against actual titans and those with kaiju quirks than any of us, so he'll know how to best handle such a delicate situation as this." Eraserhead said in his usual monotone voice.
"Eraserhead has a point. We don't know anything about this Shin Godzilla other than the fact that it was some sort of Godzilla subspecies. Gojiro, what are we up against?" Hawks asked.
"I don't know much. Most of the information about this kaiju is still redacted even though it's dead." responded DJ before he said "What I do know is that its DNA structure is eight times larger than that of human DNA, and that because this creature fed off of toxic nuclear waste when it was in its infant stage it developed the power to rapidly evolve to counter any weapon that hurt it or give itself an edge environmentally. When it found it difficult to breathe on land due to its originally aquatic nature, it developed a more efficient method of terrestrial breathing. And since it found it difficult to move on land, it developed powerful legs and short arms that helped it stand in an upright position. And like Godzilla, this thing had a unique form of Atomic Breath."
"Isn't that like your own Atomic Heat Ray?" Endeavor asked.
"Yes, only far superior to my own. So, stay alert! Who knows what could have happened to Izuku-"
But DJ couldn't finish that sentence because there was the sound of explosions and rumbling, the muffled sound of people screaming in agony and high-pitched shrieks coming from within the lab! The heroes tensed up, ready to take on whatever may have broken its way out of containment. They didn't have to wait long, though, as something burst through the doors to the laboratory and ran out into the open! The heroes gasped and flinched in shock!
There standing before them was something that looked like something akin to a Titanus Gojira hatchling with dark green scales instead of charcoal black, little bumps along its back and tail where its dorsal spines would no doubt grow in, and a single eye that was a beautiful forest green. But a vast majority of its body was covered in what looked like the flesh of Shin Godzilla, which seemed to be trying to assimilate the poor creature to give itself a new body and revive itself. A little over half of the right side of this Godzilla hatchling's body was covered in black, tough, aberrated hide, and the eye on the right side had turned a burning atomic orange that was beady and looked as if there was no real life in it. At first DJ believed that Doctor Garaki and One For All had gotten their hands on a Godzilla egg and decided to revive Shin Godzilla using the unborn hatchling. But that theory quickly went out the window as he noticed a familiar tuft of curly yet spiky green hair on the creature's head. And it was at this moment that DJ knew exactly who this creature really was.
"...Izuku...?" he asked in hope and horror.
Hope that the poor boy hadn't lost his mind, and horror at what had been done to him.
But he had no time to ponder this any longer as Izuku let out a piercing shriek and charged to attack!
***To Be Continued…***
Ending A/N: And there is the newest chapter of this story! I hope that you all liked it, because I wasn't too sure if the pacing of the chapter was good or not. Also, I want to give a big shoutout to my good friend and fellow author, DJ Rodriguez, for co-writing this chapter with me. Go and check out his stories, I highly recommend them! Especially his Monsters and Magic series! But anyway, please don't forget to review, and don't forget to cast your votes on the poll that I have set up for Izuku's Kaiju form! Thanks for reading, and I'll see you next time!
