Susan has barely opened the door when Ginny pushes her way into the flat. Her eyes widen. But before she can say a word, Ginny has flung her arms around her neck, pressing their lips together with urgency. With well-practiced steps, Ginny moves the two girls towards the couch, pushing Susan down into the cushions as she lets her knees fall either side of Susan's thighs in a straddle.
"Gin," Susan breathes. Then, more firmly, "Gin. Stop."
"Why?" Ginny's mouth continues to move against the pale of Susan's neck. "I don't want to stop."
Susan's hands have fallen to Ginny's hips on their own accord. Her grip tightens.
"I don't think you want me to stop either," Ginny murmurs. Susan can feel Ginny's lips turning upwards into a smirk. "Do you?"
Susan's eyes flutter close and for a moment, she can't find it in her to disagree. But as Ginny's cold hands slip under her dress and dance over her bare skin, she's shocked back into reality. She ducks her head, squirming away from from Ginny's insistent kisses.
"Ginny..." Susan starts carefully. She tries to make her tone flat—tries desperately to sound detached. "I thought you were with Harry now. The paper said you were back together. You said you were back together."
With a huff, Ginny disentangles their limbs and drops into the space beside her. "Why'd you have to bring that up?"
"Well, is it true?"
"I thought so," she says. Her head tips back, her gaze settling on the ceiling. "But it's hard with him. He hasn't slept for days. He hasn't touched me for weeks. What am I supposed to do with that?"
Susan suppresses a sigh. "I don't know. But you're not supposed to be here. Not with me."
"It's easier with you."
"Not for me."
It's enough to make Ginny roll her eyes and stand. "I'll just go then. Is that what you want?"
Her silence is all the answer Ginny needs to storm out of the room, the slam of the door echoing behind her. Susan, all alone, is still.
