Hey guys and gals, welcome back to Hero of Remnant chapter 13 and this time around we'll be doing the end of Volume 1.
Now just to say, I decided to spend some time focusing on this story since I only have a few more chapters left, but I'll take some time to plan out the last two chapters of this Volume.
Anyway this chapter will be introducing my Rex Oc as well as some of the other planned things for Volume 2
So with that said, let's do this.

Outside of Vale
Third person P.O.V.
Outside the city of Vale we see a truck filled with different kinds of Faunus driving as fast as it could towards the city.
"Are they still after us?" one person in the truck asked, as the driver growled "I don't know, but we can't stop now!".
The truck continued driving as fast as it could when suddenly the wheel burst causing the truck to stop moving.
"Shit! No no no no no!" The driver yelled, slamming on the steering wheel of the truck.
He then turned behind him into the truck to see the other refugees from the village looking scared for their safety.
"It's going to be alright everyone, j-just stay in the truck while I fix the wheel" he said, grabbing a spare wheel and the tools before leaving the truck.
He slowly stepped on to the ground, before taking a look around at the darkness of the woods.
He gulped before slowly making his away to the wheels, and used his tools to remove the wheel and replace it with the new one .
"Okay, now it's time to get the fuck out of he-" he said, before suddenly hearing the sound of a twig breaking.
He quickly turned his head, and was shocked to see he was surrounded by several Beowolves crawling towards him.
"Oh shit!" He said, quickly getting up but he couldn't get into the car in time as several Beowolves leapt towards him and ate him.
The Faunus in the truck were shocked and scared of the sounds of the Grimm.
The Faunus knew they had no hope as they moved to a corner, the men standing in front as the women held on to their children.
The Beowolves ripped the doors open and were about to eat them, but then they were met by a large metal fist
The Faunus watched with faces of surprise and confusion as we see the young Faunus who had broken out of the Facility who was now wearing a red jacket with a black shirt underneath as well as brown trousers and shoes, he also had a pair of goggles around his head lifting up his hedgehog quills, his arms now being equipped with a large metal fist.
"I'll keep these guys busy, you guys get out of here" he said, as they nodded starting up the vehicle before driving off.
"Alright big guys…let's do this!" He yelled, before dashing towards the Grimm.
One Grimm leapt towards him but he uppercutted it, sending it flying when Another tried swinging its claws at him but he slapped the Grimm away.
The fists then disassembled before several blues appeared on his legs building two large metal boots.
He then leapt up high before crashing onto several Grimm before kicking more away.
The boots then disassembled before several lines grew on his arms and built a large metal sword.
He then performed a spin slash to finish off the monster, making him smirk "Heh, not bad, better get going".
As the young Faunus walked off the screen moved to see Van Kleis who had just watched what happened.
"…Found you…Project R.E.X" he said, a smirk growing on his face before pressing his ear "Send our gift to Roman and the White Fang…".
The next day
Ports
Reina P.O.V.
"Okay, now this is pretty cool," Omni said, looking around.
Omni, Team Rwby and I were walking around the city of vale, Omni had. Decided to hang out with me while Ventus worked at his part time job and me and Omni were meeting for lunch.
The town itself was decorated with Red, yellow, and green streamers and balloons which were displayed all over the street.
My eyes then darted over to Weiss who was looking extremely excited with a big smile on her face.
"The Vytal Festival! Oh, this is wonderful!" Weiss said, looking around in awe.
"I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much, Weiss." Ruby said, looking at her partner while frowning slightly "It's kinda weirding me out...".
This made me snicker, as Weiss quickly spun around looking at the rest of us.
"How could you not smile? A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be dances! Parades! A tournament! Oh, the amount of planning and organization that goes into this event is simply breathtaking!".
"And once again miss ice queen turns something fun into something boring" Yang joked, as I elbowed her arm.
"Oh come on Yang, you have to admit it's cool seeing all of this stuff again" I smiled, looking around.
"Yeah guess you're right, I remember when we had to watch Ventus and Ruby when they were kids when we came here" Yang smiled, making Ruby blush "Yang! Din't just say that".
"May I ask, what is the Vytal festival exactly?" Omni asked as I glanced at her.
"It's a festival celebrating the ending of the Great War eight years ago" I explained, "It usually happens every two years in a different kingdom. There's usually dances, parades and even a combat tournament" she concluded, as Blake looked at me.
"Who were you talking to?" Blake asked, making me sweat drop "Oh Uh Omni's here, he's been getting better at moving away from Ventus more recently".
We then all got a scent of fish as we made it to the docks of vale.
"Remind me again why we are spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?" Yang asked as we walked over to the railings of the docks.
"Ugh, they smell like fish," Ruby said while holding her nose, probably regretting that she sniffed the ocean air.
"I've heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today. And as a representative of Beacon, I feel as if it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom." Weiss said as we started to walk again.
"She wants to spy on them so she'll have the upper hand in the tournament." Blake nonchalantly said.
"Oh geez Weiss, never thought you'd be the cheating type" I joked, making her face turns red.
"What! No! You can't prove anything!" Weiss denied, whilst crossing her arms.
"Sure" I shrugged, turning around.
Ruby snickered at this interaction, before noticing something up the road "Woah".
I followed her gaze to see that a dust shop up the road had been robbed "What happened here?" Ruby asked.
"No idea, probably a robbery, something like what happened the other day," I said, before noticing the time making me gulp.
"Ah crap baskets I promised Ventus that I'd meet up with him about now" I said, beginning to walk away "See you guys later".
After leaving team Rwby I was heading up to Ventus's part time job I'm Tucson book store, finding him waiting there in front of the shop
"Hey!" I said, making him blink as he looked over at us "Oh, there you guys are".
"So Omni, how were the decorations?" Ventus asked, as Omni smiled "It was great, I've never seen a Festival before".
"Yeah, it's a good chance for us as well to show off our skills and can't wait to take them all on!" Ventus smirked as we walked through the town
"Though I do wonder if we'll be allowed to enter" I said, making Ventus look at me"Huh? What do you mean".
"I mean that there's only three of us, one of which people can't see and unless you want to show off your secret to everyone we can't use the Omnitrix either" she said.
"Well I have trained with my own weapons so it should be okay, but we're still gonna need to find two more members to join us" Ventus said "Maybe Penny would be able to join us, she seemed pretty strong".
"Yeah, but we'd have to find her first and who knows what her deal is. She could be a part of a team already," I said, crossing my arms.
"I don't know, what do you think Omni…Omni?" Ventus said, as the two of us looked back to see Omni looking down the alley.
"Uh guys" he said, as we both walked up to him "What? Did you find a stray cat?".
"Uh not exactly" he said, moving aside allowing us to see an unconscious guy about my age in the ground unconscious.
"Oh geez! Are you okay?" I said, as we checked him but then we heard the sound of growling.
"So…hungry…" he said, making us sweatdrop.
A few minutes earlier
Third person P.O.V
After Reina had left we see Team Rwby walking up to the robbed dust store to check out what happened.
"What happened here?" Ruby asked, as they walked up to the dust store where they were met by two officers.
"Robbery." The first officer answered, shaking his head "Second Dust shop to be hit this week. This place is turning into a jungle."
"That's terrible." Yang says, as the officers nodded.
"They left all the money again." The second officer answered, with a sigh as the other officer nodded "Yeah, it just doesn't make a lick of sense, who needs this much Dust?"
"I dunno an army?" The second officer shrugged, as the first one looked to his partner "You thinking uh, the White Fang?"
"Nope, I'm thinking we don't get paid enough." The second detective sighed, taking off his glasses dramatically.
"Hmph, the White Fang." Weiss huffed, with a glare. "What an awful bunch of degenerates."
"What's your problem?" Blake asked, turning to Weiss making her blink "My problem? I simply don't care for the criminally insane."
"The White Fang aren't a bunch of psychopaths, they're just a collection of misguided Faunus." Blake said, crossing her arms.
"Misguided? They want to wipe humanity off the face of the planet!" Weiss yelled, her eyes narrowing.
"So then they're very misguided," Blake continued. "Either way, it doesn't explain why they would rob a Dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale!"
"Hmm... Blake's got a point." Ruby cut in. "Besides, the police never caught that Torchwick guy Ventus and I ran into before joining Beacon... Maybe it was him."
"That still doesn't change the fact that the Whire Fang are a bunch of scum, those Faunus only know how to lie, cheat and steal '' Weiss said, as Yang crossed her arms.
"That's not necessarily true" Yang said, before they heard some commotion from one of the ships.
"Hey! Stop that, Faunus!"
They suddenly heard the sound of running as they walked up to the dock to see a Faunus with a golden monkey tail running down the length of the boat before leaping onto the edge as two sailors closed in on the Faunus.
The Faunus had golden yellow hair and wore a white open shirt with a necklace around his neck. He also had a pair of blue shorts and black shoes with red and black gloves.
"Thanks for the ride, guys! Haha!" He laughed, jumping off the boat before landing on the ground and sprinting through the docks.
"You no good stowaway!" One of the sailors yelled out.
"Hey! A no-good stowaway would've been caught! I'm a great stowaway!" The Faunus said as he landed on top of a lamppost, using his tail to hang on it while eating a banana.
One of the Sailors attempted to stop him by throwing a stone at the Monkey Faunus but the Faunus simply tossed a banana peel on one of their faces.
The Faunus then hit the ground and broke into a sprint, passing by us as he made his escape, followed quickly by his pursuers.
"Well, Weiss, you wanted to see the competition, and there it goes..." Yang said, watching as the Faunus got further and further away.
"Quickly! After him! We must observe him!" Weiss yelled as she, Ruby, Yang and Blake chased after the Faunus.
As they turned the corner Weiss accidentally bumped into someone, making them both fall, allowing the Faunus to escape, with the officers after him.
"No! He got away" Weiss cried, slamming her fist on the ground.
"Uuuuhhh… Weiss?" Yang said, pointing to the person Weiss fell on top.
Weiss quickly yelped, jumping off of the girl allowing us to see it was Penny, the girl Ventus and Omni met during the concert (Read Chapter 9)
"Salutations!" she said, with a smile.
"Uh… Hello?" Ruby said, awkwardly.
"You… okay down there?" Yang asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes I am wonderful, thank you for asking" she happily said.
"Do you… do you wanna get up from there," Yang asked, with a raised eyebrow
The girl was silent for a few seconds before her smile came back "…Yes!" She said, leaping back to a stand as everyone else took a step back.
"My name is Penny! It's a pleasure to meet you!"
"Hi Penny, I'm Ruby," Ruby said, standing up straight.
"I'm Weiss," she said, moving her hair.
"Blake…" she said, with a nod.
"Are you sure you didn't hit your head?" Yang said, before getting elbowed in the arm by Blake "Oh, and I'm Yang".
"It's a pleasure to meet you!" Penny said, still with a smile making Weiss look at the girl in confusion. "You already said that".
"….So I did!"
"...Right…" Blake said, blinking at the girl.
"Well, sorry for running into you!" Weiss said, turning around.
Ruby waved her arm as she turned around. "Take care, friend!"
"She was... weird..." Yang said as Weiss nodded "Weird… Yeah, that fits but she seems harmless enough".
"Now, where did that Faunus riff-raff go," Weiss said, before suddenly being met with Penny.
"What did you call me?" Penny asked, as she suddenly appeared in front of them surprising them
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't think you heard me" Yang said, as Weiss looked back to where she was in confusion
"No, not you…" She said, passing Yang, Weiss and Black as she walked up to Ruby. "You."
"Me?! I-I don't what I um, uh-" Ruby stuttered, unsure of what to say.
"You called me 'friend'. Am I really your friend?" Penny asked, getting closer and closer to Ruby's face.
"Uummmmm…" Ruby looked to her team for advice as the three girls were signalling her not to do it.
"Um…y-yeah sure. Why not?" The other girls fell down comically.
"Sen-sational! Now I have made four friends in Vale" she said, before looking badly at Ruby.
"Now we can paint our nails, try on clothes, and talk about cute boys!" Penny squealed happily.
"Is this what I was like when you first met me?" Ruby asked, moving close to Weiss.
Weiss paused for a moment before speaking up "No… she seems more coordinated".
"So Penny, what are you doing here in Vale," Yang asked, making the girl smile.
"I'm here to fight in the tournament of course" Penny smiled, making us all blink in surprise.
"You're going to be fighting in the tournament?" Blake asked, with a raised eyebrow making the girl salute.
"That's right! I'm combat-ready" she smiled.
"Forgive me, but you don't look the part," Weiss said, as Yang looked over to Weiss.
"Say's the girl in the dress," Yang said, making Weiss cross her arms.
"It's a combat skirt," she said, before being met with a high five from Ruby "You know it,"
"Wait a minute…" Weiss said, an idea coming to mind "If you're here for the tournament, does that mean you know that monkey tailed rapscallion?".
When Weiss said that, Blake blake glaring at the Heiress.
"The who?" Penny asked, making Weiss groan and pull out a badly drawn picture of the Faunus.
"You know, the filthy Faunus from the boat," she said, making Blake growl even more.
"Why do you keep saying that!" Blake yelled as we looked at her.
"What?" Weiss said, confused.
"He's not some rapscallion and he's not some animal! He's a person!" Blake said.
"Oh I'm so sorry," Weiss said, sarcastically "Do you want me to stop referring to this trash can as a trash can? Or this building as a building? Or this Lamppost as a lamppost".
"Stop it!" Blake yelled.
"Stop what? He broke the law. Give him the time he'll probably join up with those other Faunus in the White Fang!" Weiss retorted back.
"You ignorant little brat!" Blake yelled, before turning around and walking off.
This shocked Weiss, as she gripped her hand in anger "How dare you to talk to me like that! I am your teammate!"
"You're just such a judgmental little girl," Blake yelled.
"What in the world makes you say that?" Weiss asked.
"The fact that you would sort that Faunus boy with a terrorist group solely based on his species makes you just as much of a scoundrel as you believe him to be!".
The two continued their screaming match, as Yang moved up to Ruby "Uh should we go" "Yeah, maybe we should".
"I believe you two should move," Penny said, pulling them away as a blur landed in front of them.
"Ladies" they heard, as they saw the young man from earlier except now was equipped with large mechanical boots as he quickly leapt up high.
"What was-" "HEY!".
They then looked back to see Xlr8 dashing after him "GET BACK HERE YOU BASTARD!".
As he passed by the three Ruby and Yang were left even more confused "what the heck?!".
"I can explain" They heard, looking back to see a tired Reina walking up to them "You see it started when we found that guy unconscious".
Flashback
Third person P.O.V.
"Woo hoo! That's so much better you guys were life savers" the young man said "Your treat right?".
"When did we say we were paying?" Ventus asked, as the young man smiled "How about we not quivel, especially over something so small".
"WHO YOU CALLING SMALL!" Ventus yelled, as Reina sighed "Leave him alone Ventus".
"So what's your name? And what were you doing in the middle of the streets" Reina asked, as the man smiled.
"Ah the name…the names uh Rex! Uh…Rex Tallic!" he said, looking down before shaking his head "Anyway, I was riding with a group of Faunus immigrants trying to get their secret nation thing".
"But then why are you here? I'd Imagine the group of Faunus wouldn't stop in a big city like Vale" Ventus said, crossing his arms.
"Ah well we ran into some Grimm on the way, they would have gotten us but I was able to take care of them by myself" he smirked, surprising the two.
"Wait… you were able to defeat a group of Grimm by yourself? How, you don't look like you have a weapon?" Reina asked, as Rex smirked.
"Well my sembalence is pretty awesome that pretty much makes me not need a weapon" he said, building a metal fist to show off.
"Wait, so are you a hunter or something?" He asked, as Rex shook his head "Nah, sort of have to go somewhere, maybe after I'm done though".
The two siblings were surprised at his impressive Sembalence before the two huddled up.
"Reina this is perfect, this guy has an awesome Sembalence and is interested in becoming a hunter" Ventus said "We have to ask him to join our team".
"Hmm, well maybe but we just met this guy we don't if we can trust him" Reina said, as Omni appeared next to them.
"Well it seems his Sembalence can keep up with yours, we might as well try" Omni said, as Reina sighed "True, it wouldn't hurt to at least ask".
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to try and ask him" she said, as the three of them looked at Rex.
"Hey, if you are interested in becoming a hunter, we're hunters-in-training in Beacon" Ventus said.
"Really?" He said, crossing his arms.
"Yeah, but it's only the two of us so we need two more people to enter the Vytal Tournament" she said, as Rex smirked.
"So after hearing about my awesome Sembalence you wanted to ask if I could join your team" he said, as the two nodded making him stand up.
"Sure thing, I don't have anything else to do so why not" he smirked "After I finish off my job I'll come back and see if I can join you guys".
The siblings then stood up as well and share numbers "Well see you guys later" he said, lifting up his hand for a hand shake.
When Ventus took the hand, Rex pulled him in for a hug for a few minutes before letting him go.
"Well see you guys" he said, walking off.
"Man he was…chummy but seemed nice" Ventus smiled, as Omni appeared next to him.
"Uh Ventus, I think he may stollen your wallet" he said, making Ventus blink as he checked his pockets.
"Shit! Get back here!" Ventus screamed, running after Rex as he ran off using his armoured boots to jump up high while Ventus turned into an alien.
"Wait Ventus don't!" Reina yelled, chasing after him.
"Huh?" Rex blinked, looking back seeing Ventus turning to an Alien as Rex smirked.
"Looks like we're both weirdos" he smirked, before leaping away as Ventus chased after him.
Flashback end
Third person P.O.V.
"And that's pretty much what happened" Reina said, as the group of three nodded.
"Freaking jerk…ducking lost him" Ventus growled, walking towards.
"Hi Ventus! Hi Omni!" He heard, looking up to Penny making Omni smile "Penny!".
The two then began talking as Ruby looked at him "Wait, you guys know her".
"Yeah we met a few weeks ago" he said, before looking over at Weiss and Blake still arguing "What's up with those two".
"It's a long story" Yang sighed, as they explained what happened.
Back in the dorms
Third-person P.O.V.
'We really shouldn't have stuck around for this' Alex thought, as he, Marine and the rest of team Rwby sat in their dorm room, as Weiss and Blake continued to argue.
"Jeez this is getting pretty ugly," Yang said, as they watched the argument going on.
"I don't understand why this is causing such a problem!" Weiss shouted.
"That is the problem!" Blake shouted back at the ice queen.
"You do realize you are defending an organization that hates Humanity, don't you?" Weiss asked sitting on the bed as she rubbed her forehead "The Faunus of the White Fang is pure evil!".
'Yeah, your talking to one Ice Queen' Ventus thought, fully knowing that what Blake was.
"Your not going to tell her?" Omni asked, as Ventus shook his head.
"Only when Blake is ready" he said, crossing his arms while glaring at Weiss.
"There's no such thing as pure evil! There's no such thing as evil people they're only misguided" she said.
"Why do you think they hate Humanity so much?"Blake stated, "It's because of people like Cardin! Like you! That forces the White Fang to take such drastic measures!".
"People like me?!" Weiss gasped, looking at Blake in shock.
"You're discriminatory!" Blake yelled.
"I'm a victim!" Weiss yelled back, making the room even more uncomfortable than usual.
"You want to know why I despise the White Fang? Why don't particularly trust the Faunus?" Weiss sighed, leaning on the bookshelf next to the window.
"It's because they've been at war with my family for year's, war as in like actual bloodshed." She said.
"My grandfather's company has had a target painted on it for as long as I can remember… ever since I was a child, I've watched family friends disappear, board members executed, entire train cars full of Dust stolen," she said, looking down.
"And because of it every day, my father would come home, furious… making for a very difficult childhood".
"Weiss…" Reina said, looking at her 'Weiss… I never knew you had to live like that…'.
"Weiss…I-" Ruby said, but Weiss just ignored her.
"No!" she yelled, stomping her feet towards Blake.
"You want to know why I despise the white fang! It's because they are liars! Bandits! Terrorists and Murders!" She yelled, making Ventus's eyes widen as Blake growled.
"Blake do-!" "WELL, MAYBE WE WERE JUST TIRED OF BEING TREATED LIKE THIS!" Blake screamed, back shocking everyone in the room.
Blake's eyes widened looking around everyone in the room.
"You… You what?" Weiss said, stepping back in fear.
"I…I…" Blake said, before looking down and quickly ran out of the door.
"Blake, wait! Come back!" Ruby yelled, and over to the door, calling down to her running teammate.
Ventus and Reina looked over at Weiss, whose gaze had turned down to the floor.
Ventus opened his mouth to speak, but decided to keep quiet as he followed Ruby to get Blake.
Meanwhile, outside of Beacon, we see Blake running in the courtyard as she made her way towards the large statue in the middle of the courtyard.
She took some deep breaths whilst looking up at the state, she sighed and reached for the bow on top of her head to undo it.
This revealed a set of cat ears on top of her head, grabbing the bow Blake wiped away a tear going down her cheek.
"I knew you would look better without the bow" she heard, slowly turning back to see the monkey Faunus from earlier.
The next day
Third person P.O.V.
"She's been gone all weekend." Ruby depressively said, as we see Team Rwby as well as Ventus and Reina.
Blake never came back to the dorm that night, worrying the two teams so they decided to work together to find their missing friend, some of them ready to go more then others.
"Blake's a big girl, I'm sure she can handle herself." Weiss said, dismissively as Ventus turned his attention
"We don't really need you're opinion on this matter right now." Ventus growled at her, crossing his arms.
"Come on Weiss, she's one of our teammates." Yang narrowed her eyes at the Ice queen.
"Yang's got a point, she's scared and doesn't know where to go she's you teammate so it's your job to respect her, the least you can do is hear her side of the story" Reina said, as Weiss turned to her.
"Is she though you heard her she's been lying to us this entire time! Who knows she could've just been some sleeper agent for the White Fang this entire ti-" "WEISS!".
They then all looked over at Ventus glaring at her.
"I have had enough of your shit, the White Fang are the ones at fault here that you'd hate them that doesn't mean you can treat any Faunus as dirt! Especially your own teammate" he said, as they all looked at him surprised "What?".
"Are you saying…Blake is a Faunus?" Weiss said, making Ventus cover his mouth.
"What are you talking about? Blake doesn't have Faunus ears she just has a…Bow…" Yang said, as she and her teammates finally figured everything out.
"She does like tuna a lot," Ruby said, as an awkward wind and even a tumbleweed passed by.
"He must have just mispoke there's no way he could have kno…Omni!" Reina said, as they all looked at him with Omni nodding.
"Fine…Omni scanned her the first time we met and told me, I didn't tell anyone becuase I wanted to wait for her to be comfortable" he said.
"Now that you know the least you can do is think about what you said" he said, walking off.
"Vent wait" Ruby said, following him.
"What's up" Ventus asked, as Ruby sighed "Where are you going".
"What else, I'm looking for Blake" he said, as Ruby nodded "Alright, I'm coming with you I'm worried about Blake too-" "RUBY! OMNI! VENTUS!".
They all were crashed down by Penny who lifted them for a bear hug "What are you doing!".
"We're looking for one of Ruby's teammates" Omni said, making Penny smile "Oh, the Faunus? I wanna come too!"
"Okay but you should probably let them go" he said, looking at Ventus and Ruby who look like they were about to pass out.
Meanwhile with Blake.
Third-person P.O.V.
Blake let out a sigh as she placed a cup of tea down onto the table, her eyes flicking upward towards the monkey Faunus in front of her, who was holding his drink with his tail.
This was Sun Wukong, who decided to stick around with Blake after what happened two days ago.
Sun took a sip of his drink as Blake moved her head up "So, you want to know more about me..." Blake began, eyes narrowing slightly.
"Finally, she speaks! Nearly two days and you gave me nothing but small talk and weird looks!" Sun said cheeky grind as Blake gave a deadpan look at him.
"Yeah, just like that" he pointed at her which made Blake roll her eyes before closing them with a sigh.
She opened them back up and looked at Sun, revealing a hint of sadness in her eyes."Sun... Are you familiar with the White Fang?"
"Of course! I don't think there's a Faunus on the planet who hasn't heard of them." Sun nodded, waving his hand.
"Stupid, holier-than-thou creeps that use force to get whatever they want, that only care about themselves, they don't even care about how what they're doing messes up other Faunus's live, bunch of freaks, if you ask me!"
Blake took another sip of her drink as she listened to Sun speak. "I was once a member of the White Fang".
Sun spat out his drink when he heard that, he placed the cup down on the table and wiped his mouth as he looked up at Blake"Wait a minute, you were a member of the White Fang?!"
Blake nodded, her eyes trailing off to the side. "Yes…I was a member for most of my life, you could say I was born into it".
"Back then, things were different, in the ashes of war, the White Fang was created as a symbol of peace and unity between humans and Faunus but of course, despite being promised equality, the Faunus were subjected to discrimination and hate," she said
"Humanity still thought of us as lesser beings, and so in retaliation, the White Fang rose for our people, and I was there at the front of every rally…" she explained.
"I took part in every boycott … I thought we were making a difference…I guess I was pretty dumb to think that" She got more of a saddened look.
"Then five years ago, our leader stepped down, and a new one took his place who had a new way of thinking"
"And let me guess, that thinking lead to all the violence didn't it?"Sun finished for her, as Blake nodded.
"The methods… they were working but I didn't want to use my skills to aid their violence. So I left and I decided I would dedicate my life to becoming a Huntress." She said, stirring a cup.
"So here I am, a criminal hiding in plain view, all with the help of a little black bow." She wiggled her cat ears.
"So what's the plan now?" Sun asked as he and Blake walked through Vale.
"I still don't believe the White Fang is behind these robberies, they've never needed that much dust before." She stated.
"But what if they did?" Sun spoke up, making the cat Faunus look at him.
"I mean…the only way to prove that they didn't do it is to go to the place where they would most likely be and not find them there…right?" He grinned.
"The only thing is, I have no idea where that would be," Blake admitted.
"I might be able to help you out" they heard, looking over at Rex walking up to them.
"Who are you?" Blake asked, tensing up as he smirked.
"The name Rex Tallic, a…acquaintance of your friend Ventus and Reina and I happened to hear your talk and I think I might be able to help you" he said.
"How so?" Sun asked, as Rex smirked "I know where they are, the docks, I was going to visit them since they got something I need, you help me get it and I'll show you where and when".
"So why do you say the docks," Sun asked, as Rex looked at him.
"I heard a rumour from some Ex-White Fang members I know on my way here that there was going to be a large dust shipment," Rex said, as Sun snapped his fingers.
"How large?" Blake asked as Rex looked at her "About a Schnee shipment large".
"Right, I also heard the same thing on the boat here, a couple of crew members were talking about it," Sun added.
"Alright, that sounds good come on let's go," Blake said, as they nodded getting up before leaving.
Docks
Third-person P.O.V.
We see Rex and Blake laying atop a warehouse roof at the docks, watching the Schnee crates.
"Hey did I miss anything?" Sun asked, leaping on the roof as he joined them while holding a bunch of apples.
"Not really, they just offloaded all the crates from the boat" Azure answered, crossing his arms.
"Cool, hey I stole you guys some food." He offered, tossing them some apples.
Blake just gave him a cold look "Is the first thing you try stealing"
"Hey, weren't you in a cult or something?" Sun shot back, making Blake glare at the monkey Faunus with silent anger. "Okay too soon."
"So what's the thing you need from these guys?" Sun asked, as Rex smirked.
"Apparently someone they are working with was given an item called Nanites" he said, making the two Faunus look at him "Nanites?".
"Yeah, and they're bad new they have to power to rewrite Dna and can turn a normal person or Grimm into a giant mutant" he said.
"Who would make such a thing" Blake asked, as Rex looked at them "Some shadow organisation that's been preparing for some incoming threat".
"Well how do you know so much?" Sun asked, as Rex smirked "Let's just say I have a deep connection with them".
"Hey, somethings happened," Rex said, as they looked up.
The three then look up to see several Bullheads flying over them, shining a spotlight over the docks.
The Bullhead landed, as several White Fang members stepped off the ship
Blake's eyes widened, as Rex glared at the White Fang.
"Is that them?" Sun asked, and Rex nodded.
"Yeah that's them, look at the logo on their backs," He said, pointing to a red hound head on the back of each member, with three red claw marks going across the head.
"Alright, grab the tow cables." One of the members ordered as the White Fanger members began working.
"Oh no…" Blake said, looking down.
"You didn't think they were behind it, did you?" Sun said, giving her a sympathetic look.
"No, I think deep down I knew. I just didn't want to be right." She sighed.
"Hey! What's the holdup?!" Blake's eyes shot open when she heard that voice.
She then looked back at the ship's door and saw Roman Torchwick walking out.
"We're not exactly the most inconspicuous bunch of thieves at the moment, so~ why don't you animals try to pick up the pace." He ordered them.
"Torchwick, that's my guy" Rex said, as Blake rose an eyebrow.
"Why would the White Fang team up with someone like Roman," Blake said, as Rex stood up.
"Well we can't figure it out from here, come on, let's check it out".
"No you idiot this isn't a lea-" Roman said before he saw Rex landing opposite of him "Oh…great".
Several blue lines appeared on his arms before he grew to large mechanical fists making Roman growl "Those Providence guys did warn me about you".
"Yeah, glad I've become famous enough for them to be scared of me" he smirked "Now you guys aren't going anywhere".
Other White fang soldiers pointed their guns at him but then Sun landed next to Rex while Blake landed behind Roman putting her weapon to his neck.
Blake looked back from soldier to soldier before taking off her bow " Brothers of the White Fang! Why are you aiding this scum?!"
She watched as some of them looked at her, then each other, slowly lowered their weapons a little.
"Heh, kid. Didn't you get the memo?" The thief said, with a grin.
"What're you talking about?" Blake asked as the man grinned
"Well you see the White Fang and I are going in on a joint business venture together" he said.
"Tell me what it is, or I'll put an end to your little operation!" Blake growled, bringing the blade closer to Roman's neck.
However as she did more turbine engines blew air everywhere as they looked up to see several drop ships
"I wouldn't exactly call it a 'little' operation." He smirked and pulled a trigger on his cane, shooting the ground, sending Blake away from him in an explosion.
The white fang members then began firing at them giving Roman the chance to escape as several White Fang soldiers fired at them forcing Rex to lift up his metal fists "I'll handle these guys, you go after torchwick".
Blake and Sun nodded, as they chased after Roman.
Rex then switched his fist two a large sword as he stared at the white fang members, a large grin growing on his face.
"Alright then boys…LET'S PARTY!" He yelled, leaping into the air as he began fighting them.
We see Roman running as he looked back to see Blake chasing after her, so he fired several rounds from his cane causing Blake to block the attack but was still knocked back, but she quickly got up and rolled over to the side to avoid more fire.
He continued his assault so Blake used her semblance to dodge a close shot. She then saw some crates and she ran behind them for cover.
"Here kitty kitty kitty..." The man said until a banana peel fell onto his hat.
"What the?" He groaned as he threw it off but then Sun landed right in front of him.
"Woohoo!" Sun yelled, as he forced Roman down to the ground.
Sun flipped a few times and stood up. "Leave her alone." He said sternly, when suddenly White Fang soldiers jumped out of another dropship above Sun, surrounding him.
"You're not the brightest banana in the bunch, are ya kid?" The man said.
Sun readied himself for a fight as each soldier attacked him.
He then pulled out his weapon which was a foldable staff, which he used against the soldiers.
He took care of each soldier, before sweep-kicking one.
He then kicked the soldier which sent him flying towards Roman's direction.
Roman growled as he shot at Sun with his cane, forcing the Faunus to block the blasts as he twirled his staff quickly.
However as this was happening Blake jumped in between the two "He's mine!"
She leaped in with a few striked Roman several times while using her semblance to dodge any of his attacks.
However eventually used her sembalences too many times which allowed the roman to her last attack before continually attacking her until she failed to use her semblance.
Sun soon came in, breaking his staff into 4 gun and nun-chucks hybrid, which he flailed around firing each one very quickly.
Roman had a hard time dealing with Sun's constant fire from his attacks but whenever he screwed up, Blake cut in and gave Roman a good hit, sending him back a few feet.
"Damn kids" Roman said, getting back up.
However he soon noticed that Sun and Blake were under a dust crate that was hanging by one cord so the man smirked and fired at it.
This caused the cord to break and the crate fell, forcing it to split Sun and Blake apart.
While Blake's escape was swift, Sun's was a bit sloppy and he ended up rolling right in front of the Romans cane.
Sun stared down the barrel and saw Roman grin until there was a bright green flash.
"DiamondHead!" They heard, as a large diamond wall appeared between the two.
They all then looked over to see Ventus in his alien form with Ruby and Penny landing next to him.
"Oh hello red, isn't it past your bedtime? And who's your friends?" Roman asked, before noticing the watch "Oooooohhhh, you're the weird monster changing kid that's been messing up my operations".
"Ruby, are these people your friends?" Penny asked, from behind Ruby.
"Penny get back this is dangerous" Ruby warned her, but DiamondHead smirked "Don't worry she can handle herself".
Noticing Ruby's distraction, Roman smirked as he twirled is cane before firing at the three girls.
"Ruby! Watch out!" DiamondHead yelled, moving in front of her using his rock like body to defend her.
"Hahahahaha! You should really keep your eyes out for these kinds of things" he laughed, making Penny glare at him.
She then began making her away towards Roman as Ruby looked up at her "Penny! Don't!".
"Don't worry Ruby, I'm combat ready!" Penny saluted, as her backpack mechanically opened up, casuing a single sword to come out which separated into several blades hovering over Penny's back.
She then dashed towards Roman and the White Fang as he rolled his eyes "Where do these people keep coming from".
"Hey Ventus, that Rex guy is here you should help him out" Blake said as DiamondHead sighed and ran towards Rex "Fine…".
Meanwhile with Rex
Third person P.O.V.
We then see Rex running as several White Fang soldiers chased after him, there being four in total.
"Come on guys, can't we just talk this out over some Pizza" Rex asked, as he deflected some bullets with his fists
One of the soldiers pulled out a grenade and threw it towards the kid.
"Shit!" He said, not being able to move his metal arms due to the bullets but before the grenade could explode a diamond wall came up and protected him.
"Huh?" Rex blinked, before looking back to see DiamondHead walking towards him "You owe me for this, and I want my money back".
"Heh, right right we'll see" he said, getting ready as they both turned to the White Fang who readied their weapons.
However before they began fighting they each pulled out some needles before inserting them into their bodies causing them to stiffen.
"What are those?" DiamondHead blinked, as Rex's eyes widened.
"Those are Nanites!" He yelled, as the Nanites entered their bodies.
"G-Gah!" They screamed, as their bodies began mutating and changing much to their disgust.
"W-What's happening" DiamondHead asked, as Omni looked closer "They look like those Mutated Grimm".
"The Nanites are rewriting their DNA" Rex said "I can fix them up but we'll need to pin them down".
"Alright, then let's pin 'em down" DiamondHead said, pressing the Omnitrix symbol, causing another flash.
"Fourarms!" He roared, as he stared down at the mutated white fang members.
The white fang's looked like they had their Faunus traits take over more of their bodies, one looking like a lizard, another wolf and another a gorilla.
The Lizard and Wolf leapt towards Fourarms as the Gorilla moved towards Rex.
"Hey!" Fourarms yelled, grabbing on to the Lizard and Wolf as they tried attacking him "What's up with these guys! They're out of control".
"It's the shock, they weren't able to handle the change so they've gone violent" Rex yelled, as Gorilla leapt on him and began pounding his fist at the young man.
Rex quickly materialised his large sword to slash at the Gorrilla to get off of him.
"Alright! Let's see how you like this" he yelled, switching to the metal fist which he swiftly used to knock the Gorilla back.
He then leapt into the air, switching to the mechanical boots before kicking the Gorilla to the ground.
"Alright, It's Lunchtime" he said, placing his hand on the Gorilla causing several blue lines to come from his hands to the Gorilla's body.
"What are you doing?" Four arms asked, as he fought the Lizard and Wolf back.
"Ggghhhh….I'm absorbing the Nanites in him" he said, as he absorbed the Nanites inside the soldiers returning him to normal.
Rex then looked up before breathing out a black mist "And charged back up".
"That's great and all now how about these two" he said, holding up the two Evo's.
"Well I'm all full, but I could use some for the road" he said, holding up two canisters and placing them onto the two monsters.
"Alright Nanite brothers! Get in here!" He yelled, as the blue lines moved past the canisters and onto the monster sucking up the Nanites returning to them to normal.
"What the hell are you?" Four arms asked,dropping the dazed White Fang soldiers "There's no way your Semblance can just coincidentally be connected to these Nanites".
"Heh, let's just say I'm a bit of a lab rat" he said, making Four Arms blink "What's that meant to me-huh?!"
Four Arm looked over to see Rex with a Helicopter pack "Sorry monster kid, but I gotta get going see ya".
"Hey!" Four Arms yelled, about to jump after him but with a red flash he returned to normal "Shit…".
"Sorry, we were just transformed too long" Omni said, as Ventus nodded and looked at Rex "It's alright".
"Just remember this, you've got a lot more enemies coming after you then you think so you better make that team soon or you'll be having a bad time oh and here " Rex said, tossing him his wallet.
Ventus watched as Rex flew off in the distance as he gripped his hand.
A few minutes earlier
Third person P.O.V.
Back with the others we see Ruby looking at Penny who was taking down the white fang extremely easily.
We see her as she sends three of her swords to knock back two White Fang soldiers down as she continues her assault on each one, throwing multiple White Fang soldiers off their feet.
Ruby could only gawk to what is happening 'Whoa! She's taking them down like one of Ventus's aliens'
He thoughts were soon cut off when a couple of Bullheads tried to shoot her.
Penny noticed this and stopped them by making her swords produce energy before shooting them down, the ships crashing into the waters.
Roman growled before he quickly made his way to the Bullhead as it begins to depart.
"These brats are just getting weirder and weirder…" he growled, as he flew off on the bull head.
One hour later
Third person P.O.V.
After a while, a handful of police cars are at the docks, where Ventus, Penny, Ruby, Blake and Sun were sitting on boxes in silence.
"Hey, did we miss anything"
The silence was soon broken however when they saw Yang, Weiss and Reinawalking over to them.
"Oh Uh hey Weiss" Alex said, as Ruby got up.
"Look Weiss it's not what you think, she explained everything Blake doesn't actually wear a bow, it's cat ears and it's actually kind of cute" Ruby quickly said as Weiss walked past Ruby, ignoring her entire rant of explanation.
She then approached Blake and stood there for a moment.
"Weiss, I want you to know that I'm no longer associated with the White Fang, back what I was with-" "Stop." Blake tried to explain, but was cut off by Weiss.
"Do you have any idea how long we've been searching for you? Twelve hours." She said,
"That means I've had twelve hours to think about this, and in those twelve hours, I've decided..." Everyone looked at each other for a few seconds.
"I don't care." Weiss finished, making Blake blink
"You don't care?" Blake asked, confused.
"You said you're not one of them anymore, right?" she asked, as Blake quickly nodded.
"No, I-I haven't been since I was younger-" Blake was cut off quickly.
"Ahpupupup, I don't wanna hear it. All I want to know is that the next time something this big comes up, you'll come to your teammates, and not some...someone else." Weiss said, looking at Weiss.
Tears started welling up in Blake's eyes as she slowly nodded."Of course."
Weiss smiled at Blake after hearing the response.
"Yeah! Team RWBY's back together!" Ruby chanted happily, as everyone gathered up closely.
"I'm still not quite sure how I feel about you." She pointed at the monkey Faunus making him laugh nervously.
"Hey" Ventus said, looking over at Reina who walked up to him "The guy got away".
"Rex?" Reina asked, as Ventus nodded before looking at the Omnitrix.
"He had mentioned something about more enemies after me then I think…and I think he might be right" Ventus said, as Reina blinked "Really?".
"Think about it, the mutated Grimm, that lord decibel guy and that armour Cardin had" Omni said, with Ventus nodding "There's something going on here and I intend find out what"
"Well then, looks like we have a lot of work for us" Reina said, with Ventus nodding the two fist bumping "Thanks" "Heh, what are partners for".
"Hey…where's Penny" Ruby said, making Omni blink looking around "She's right, where did she go?".
Meanwhile in a car we see Penny looking at Omni and Ruby with a sad look on her face.
"You should know better than to go running around again in a strange city" The driver said, as Penny nodded "I know sir…".
"Penny…your time will come…I promise".
Galvan Prime
Third person P.O.V.
In the prison on Galvan prime we see two Galvan guards standing in front of the entrance to stop anyone from getting in.
However what they didn't realise was that the silhouette of a Ghost Freak was able to move past three and phase through the wall.
This silhouette looked around for a bit before noticing a cell marked 216, which he soon phased through before returning to normal revealing Grimm.
"Albedo I presume?" He said, looking at what looked like a 15 year old Ben Tennyson with white hair and red eyes who was wearing prison clothes with some kind of device attached to his ankle.
"Who are you?" He asked, glaring at Grimm who smirked,
"My name is Grimm and I could use some technical assurance" he said, revealing the Grimmtrix, making Albedo's eyes widen.
"The Prototype Omnitrix? That was the one that was corrupted after acquiring the DNA from those Black aliens" he said "But that drains the life force of the user, how are you wielding it".
"Oh that's a question for me to know alone, all I need you to do is add the Ultimatrix function to this so I can get the dna samples in the Omnitrix and perfect it, you can have the Omnitrix after I'm done" he said, making Albedo roll his eyes.
"Oh boy an empty Omnitrix, not happening" he said "All I want is to return to my original form, and giving you the evolution crystal will keep from doing that".
"I wasn't asking," he said, picking Albedo up by the throat.
"H-Hey!" Albedo yelled, as his form changed to that of Swampfirce but before he could do anything the two were teleported away as the prison's Alarms began going off.
And done woo boy this chapter took a lot longer than I expected, mostly because I was having trouble with the last fight scene.
I had originally planned a big Kaiju fight with Waybig but I decided to save it for the next chapter.
Next chapter will be the finale of Volume 1, and then my planned movie in between.
