DC Superhero Hero Girls and Boys: Level Up
Prologue

In the bustling city of Metropolis everyone was going about their day. Everyone was having a nice time when a boy in a blue collar shirt and brown spiky hair was skating through the crowds of people trying to get somewhere. This was Light Snell.
Light: Come on, I can't be late again!
He was running to Metropolis High when he heard the bell ring.
Light: Oh no…
He then runs into the school seeing the empty halls.
Light: Dangit!
He then runs up to his homeroom class before sighing.
Light: Ok just gotta sneak into class.
He gets a determined look before quietly opening the door. Everyone didn't notice him except a african american girl with brown hair and brown hair and black and yellow striped hoodie. This was Karen Beecher Light's best friend.
Karen: (Late again Light)
He took the seat next to her and pumped his fist in the air.
Light: (Whisper) Nailed it!
He then got hit by a piece of chalk as an egg shaped man in a suit and glasses from the front of the class. This was Dr. Robonick.
Robonick: Light late again?
Light: Oh I was here the whole time Mr. Robonick. I just had my head down.
Robonick: It's Dr. Robonick! Even if you were there or not you still are late so you'll get detention... again.
Light frowned and groaned as Karen shook her head.
After Class
Light and Karen packed up their stuff as they were walking through the halls.
Light: Ugh detention again.
Karen: That's the fifth time this week Light.
Light: I keep thinking Robonick just hates me or something.
Karen: Light he doesn't hate you.
Light and Karen then arrive at their lockers.
Light: Yeah and he didn't just count off points for my test for not writing my name when you, who did the exact same, were fine.
Karen: Well maybe he just forgot and beside why are you so late all the time.
Light: Sorry it's just that I'm so excited for the convention.
Karen: What convention?
Light then opens his locker and pulls out a poster full of game characters.
Light: Game on Expo where the biggest companies show their games around.
Karen: Oh that thing that you talk nonstop about.
Light: Yeah and they're introducing a brand new console called the Mexs.
He then turns the poster showing a thin console with a slimmest of a pS5, the power of a X-Box Series X, and the portability of the Nintento Switch.
Light: All the game company's games, mascots, and genres come to make the ultimate game system. The Mexs!
Karen: Every videogame ever seems powerful.
Light: It's the most powerful console in existence and I got some tickets so we can go.
He then pulls out two tickets.
Karen: Wait us?
Light: Yeah I can't just leave my best friend hanging for this ultimate experience.
Karen: (Sighs) I'm sorry Light but I can't, you know I can't do big crowds.
Light: Aw man I wanted to go with my best friend.
Karen: Maybe you can bring your other friends.
Light: Fine…
As they closed their locker Light looked at Karen.
Light: Hey Karen, do you think of being a hero?
Karen's eyes went wide as she stuttered over her words.
Karen: I- um- w-why would you say that.
Light: Like I see me gaming icons and see them do these great things and see actual heros also do these great things.
Karen looks at him, smiles.
Karen: You be what you wanna be, Light. You choose your own path.
Light: Thank Karen.
They both then headed to their separate classes.
End of Day
Light was now running to the convention after detention and was so excited.
Light: I may have not gotten any of my friends to come with but I'm still gonna have fun.
Light then arrived at the convention having stars in his eyes and fanboying around.
Light: This is the best day of my life.
He entered and looked around the convention seeing all the booths and merchandise. He looked around the Nintendo booths, took a picture with Crash Bandicoot, played a demo of the next new games, and even ate some videogame type food. He was typing on his phone sending the pictures to Karen.
Light: Man, I wish my friends were here to experience this.
He then bumped into someone dropping his phone.
Light: Oh sorry dude, didn't see you there-
He stops when he sees the guy in front of him. A brown haired boy with black t-shirt and red vest. This was Mick Tyson.
Light: Tyson…
Mick: Snell…
Light: So what are you doing here?
Mick: I'm checking out the convention just like you.
Light: Well I was just heading to the presentation of the new console.
Mick: So am I.
They gave each other a deep eye glare before two hands came down on both of them and stopped their staring contest.
?: Can you guys forget your rivalry for a minute?
Turning to a blond man, with a lime long sleeve shirt and a collared shirt underneath. This was Vincent or Vin Ford.
Vin: We're all here for the same thing now, put your petty rivalry aside and have fun.
Light and Mick glared once more and turned away from each other. Vincent just pinched his nose as an announcement came on.
Announcer: The presentation is about to begin.
Light the imitalty was charged up again.
Light: Yes!
Light then went on a full on sprint with the others behind him. They then arrive in the room with others as Light was trying to get a good seat. He found one near the middle before someone else chose it too.
?: Oh sorry where you can have it.
It was a messy browned hard man with a red sleeveless hoodie and Jeans. This is Sky Anderson.
Light: Oh Sky, no you can have it.
Sky: Oh no you can have it.
Light: (Irritated) No I incest, you have it.
Sky: (Irritated) No you're the one who had it first.
Light: When I say you can have it, you have it!
Sky: Light, just take the seat!
They went back and forth towards each other before someone took a seat in it who had black hair and glasses. This was Sander Manners.
Sander: Thanks for the search guys.
They both blink at each other before groaning.
Light/Sky: Your welcome Sander…
They then find seats elsewhere apologizing to each other after a few minutes of that going back and forth. He found a seat in the front next to one of his good friends. A black haired and blue hoodie. This was Miguel Zinks but people call him Mech.
Mech: (Roboticky) Hey, friend Light, glad you made it.
Light: Yeah, thank Mech for saving me a spot.
Mech: It was my pleasure, friend Light.
The presentation started and a gray haired man came out. This was Shinto Teso.
Shinto: Thank you all for joining her today. I am Shinto Teso, the founder of Mexation. I'm about to unveil the top of the class technology of the new generation of gaming.
Light had stars in his eyes as he grabbed onto Mech by the shoulders. Shinto then snapped his fingers as the floor opened up with Mexs coming out with the main color being purple.
Shinto: This is the Mexs, able to play any game from any time. From Sonic to Mario this is the most powerful console in existence. Thanks to this.
He then takes a purple, glowing container filled with energy.
Shinto: This is Mexs energy, the Core, able to contain the great amount of memory and energy needed for the console.
Shinto then plugged it to Mexs making a holographic screen pop up. Light was now shaking Mech at this point with stars in his eyes.
Shinto: With unlimited space and energy this is the next generation of gaming.
Everyone started to clap and cheer as Light was full on having Mech in a headlock, Mech didn't even mind.
Light: This is so awesome!
Mech: Yes, friend Light, this is indeed awesome.
As everyone settled down Shinto was about to keep on talking when a blast was fired knocking him off his feet. Someone in a mask then started to walk on stage with a purple I.D mask and cloak. Everyone was in shock as the security came charging at him. He gave out a 'hmmp' before blasting them in the chest, knocking them out using some kind of gauntlet. He then walks over to the Mexs before taking the Core out.
Masked figure: Too easy.
He then looks towards the audience who are still in shock before starting to run away. Light snapped out of his trans before going after the Masked figure.
Light: Hey get back here!
Mech followed after him as they passed and gave chase to this unknown person. They went through the back entrance of the building finding the mask figure fighting through security.
Mech: Friend Light, what shall we do?
Light: Give out a serious butt kicking.
Mech: Well I'm ready to kick some butt then.
As the masked figure got through security and was starting to leave. Light and Mech tackled him to the ground.
Light: Give back the Core!
Mech: Or prepare for some serious butt kicking.
The Masked Figure just groaned before firing a shockwave of energy making them fly off him. They hit the wall giving out groans before trying to get back up.
Masked Figure: Stay down.
Light got back up holding his arm.
Light: Not without the Core.
He then rushed at him, rearing back his fist hitting hitting them in the chest…. but it didn't do anything. Light slowly raised his head to the Masked Figure.
Light: So… best two out of three.
The Masked Figure let out a chuckle before using his shockwave, knocking Light to the ground and putting a foot on his chest.
Masked Figure: Now stay down or things gonna get personal.
He had an arm cannon to his face, ready to fire when a ball hit him in the head. He turned around to see Mick, Vin, Sky, and Sander. Sky and Sander tackled the Masked Figure off of Light as Mick and Vin laid him against the wall.
Mick: Well looks like I gotta get you out of this Light.
Light: Oh, at least I went towards him without hesitation!
Vin: There's no time to argue right now. We have something to deal with right now.
That's when Sky and Sander came flying into them. As the Masked Figure dusted himself off.
Masked Figure: Well that wasn't part of the plan but I need to leave.
He pushed some buttons on his gauntlet as something rockets glitched onto his back.
He was about to fly away when something kept him down. He looked over to see Mech holding onto him.
Mach: I haven't given you a proper butt kicking yet.
Masked Figure: Let go of me!
They slowly levitated off the ground as Light grabbed onto his other leg.
Masked Figure: You don't ever give up don't you.
Light: Yup one of my flaws.
He was about to shoot them off when Mick grabbed on his arm.
Mick: Stop right there!
Vin grabbed onto his other arm as Sky helped Mech and Light.
Masked Figure: Let go of me! You don't know who you're up against!
Sander then grabbed onto his face sending them all around the room as they crashed into the wall sending them back into the auditorium. People were screaming as they evacuated the building.
Light: Guys hold on!
Mick: Do you think we're trying?!
They then all crashed to the ground, all groaning. The Core then fell out of the Masked Figures cloak and landed away from them. They all looked at it before rushing towards it.
Masked Figure: NO! GET BACK!
Mech grabs the core before being tackled by the masked figure Vic catches it. He threw it at Mick before he was tossed out of the way as Mick tossed it to Sky, who juggled it with his feet.
Sky: Come and get it!
The Masked Figure growled by aiming his blaster at Sky before he kicked it at him causing him to miss fire and hit Sander who was about to jump on him. Light caught the core before he dodge another shockwave.
Masked Figure: Hand it over kid and no one get hurt.
Light: Not gonna happen, mask guy!
Masked Figure sighs as he fires multiple shockwaves as Light ducked under some chairs.
Masked Figure: Just give me the dang Core!
Light: Yeah when Claptrap stops being an idiot.
Light then dodge rolls out of another shockwave before being tackled to the ground resling for the Core.
Light: Get off you Wrench wannabe!
They kept on fighting before the core slipped out of their hands and into the air. In slow motion they both rush for it pushing and shoving trying to catch it, but their efforts are futile as the Core dropped on the ground and purple explosion happens. Everyone was sent back as they were the energy from the blast surrounding the room.
Light: Son of a Bi-
Light couldn't continue as he and everyone else blacked out.
Several Minutes Later
The whole building had smoke coming out of it as the boys were still knocked out before the Masked Figure then woke up. He looked around seeing the room they were in was smoldering with the boys still unconscious. He got up, groaning before he heard alarms blaring from outside. He cursed before making his escape, not before glitching out a little.
The cops came in seeing the boys lying unconscious before paramedics came in and brought them each to the vans. Before the doors closed for light he glowed a slight blue.
Timeskip the Next Day
Light was now slowly waking up as held his head before looking around seeing that he was in his room. He then sees a woman with the same brown hair as him come in. This was Aleena Shell, Light's mother.
Aleena: Oh Light, I'm so happy you're awake!
She hugs him before two others are the same age as Light. A boy with brown grasslike hair with blond ends and a girl with hair coming down to her left eye. This was his siblings Manic and Sonya Shell.
Manic: Dude, so glad you're ok.
Sonya grabbed Light by the collar of his pajamas.
Sonya: You had us worried about you for the whole day, you dummy!
Light: Ok, ok I'm sorry for making you worry.
Sonya lets go of him and pouts.
Aleena: Light, are you feeling ok?
Light: Yeah actually I feel great!
He hops out of bed energized.
Aleena: Don't push yourself too hard, Light. You just got back from the hospital.
Light: Well I feel fine now. I just now have so much energy I don't know what to do with it.
Sonya: Well you can use it for school. The bus is coming in a few minutes.
Light eyes widen as he quickly rushes out his room and takes a shower. He put his clothes on before quickly eating breakfast.
Light: This can be the first time in my life that I'm not late for the bus. Looks like everything is turning around.
As he says that he looks outside seeing Sonya and Manic jump on the bus and leave. He dropped his cereal before grabbing his backpack and left the house, after he said bye to his Aleena.
Light: Wait, stop!
On the bus Manic was jamming out with his guitar while Sonya was talking to her friends.
Light: I can't be late, not again!
He starts to run faster but it's in vain as the bus gets farther away.
Light: NO! Not this time!
Blue electricity surrounds him as he speeds right past the bus. The people on the bus looked to see a blue blue past them, they all gasped.
Manic: What was that?
Sonya: I have no idea?
Metropolis High
Karin is tapping her feet, annoyed and worried before a blue blue goes straight past her. She turns to see Light on the ground.
Light: Uh, hey Karin.
He nervously laughs as he gets up before being punched in the gut and slapped in the face. Karin then grabbed his collar and gave him a deep eye glare.
Karin: If you ever do something so stupid and ignorant again I wont hesitate to drag your rotting corpse.
Light was intimated whenever Karin got mad as he nodded his head. Karin lets go before giving him a hug.
Karin: Your dumb you know that?
Light: Yeah you tell me everyday.
They both let go as Karin runs his hair and pricks her finger.
Karin: Ow! When was your hair so spiky?
Light touches his hair feeling that they feel like hedgehog quills.
Light: Uh, I just used a lot of gel, you already know how I like it.
Karin looks up at him before they hear the bell.
Karin: Well let's head to class or you're gonna try to stop another villain.
Light: (Sarcastically) Haha!
They both walk into the school as Light looks at his hand seeing that they are emitting electricity.
Light: What's going on?
Lunch
Light was heading to the cafe thinking about what's going on.
Light: (How did this even happen?)
He then remembered something.
Flashback
Back at the convention the Core dropped and broke making the energy inside explode out. Everyone was then sent back as the energy surround the room
Flashback End
Light: The Core! That's why it's happening. I gotta go find the guys.
He then looked at a poster of a chili dog and his stomach grumbled.
Light: After I get something to eat.
Light entered the cafeteria and grabbed 12 chili dogs.
Light: Man I love Chili Tuesday.
He takes and starts stuffing his face with dogs before Mick slammed a tray in front of him.
Mick: Light we need to talk.
Light still had some chili dogs in his mouth.
Light: What's up?
Mick: Well there's something going on with me and-
Before he can finish Vin takes a seat next to Mick.
Vin: Guys something is wrong with me.
Mick: Yeah, something is also wrong with me.
Vin: Well for some reason I-
He is then interrupted by Sky and Sander who sits by Light.
Sky: Guys we have something important.
Sander: Something is wrong.
Vin: Ok now this must not be a coincidence if-
He was then interrupted by Mech who sat down next to him as he went to talk. Vin covered his mouth.
Vin: Something wrong, right?
Mech nods his head as Vin sighs.
Vin: This must not be a coincidence. We all went to the same convention and got hit by the same blast.
Light was still eating his chili dogs as he spoke.
Light: Well since you're all here, I just want to say that there's also something strange with me.
Mick: Chew with your mouth closed!
Light swallows the dog and clears his throat.
Light: When I was coming to school and was missing the bus.
Sander: Again?
Light: Ok I get it. Electricity started running around me and I literally ran to school in seconds.
Sander: Wait so you're at your house to school in seconds?
Light: Yeah before I crashed into a wall not knowing how to stop.
Mick: Well for me I was just trying to get my school papers until they burned in my hands.
Vin: Well with me this sword that kinda looks familiar appeared out of nowhere.
Vin takes his bag and slightly pulls out the Master Sword.
Sky: Wait isn't that the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda.
Vin: Now that I think of it, yeah it does look like the Master Sword.
Sky: For me I got this.
Sky pulls out his and light shines in it before he's holding Keyblade.
Light: You got a Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts!
Everyone looked at their table as Light nervously smiled.
Light: I mean you got a keychain from Kingdom Marks!
Everyone looked at him before going back to their own conversations. Light sighs and sits back down.
Light: Ok Sander you're up.
Sander then proceeds to vacuum up his lunch.
Sander: Yeah that happens now.
Everyone was just surprised.
Mech: So friend Sander is like pink puffball Kirby.
Mick: Yeah weird, what about you Mech.
Mech holds out his arm as it then turns to an arm cannon.
Light: Wait, you can turn your arm into a cannon!
Mech: Yes friend Light, as you can see.
Sander: So we have all this and don't know where they come from.
Light: Wait guys don't you know from yesterday at the convention.
Mick: Yeah, that huge explosion that happened. That must have given us energy and given us these powers.
Light: So that mean I have the powers of Sonic the Hedgehog aka the fastest thing alive, aka the blue blue, aka-
Mick: Ok we get it. I must have Mario's then since fire comes out of my hands.
Sander: Vin Link's, mine Kirby's, and Sky Sora's.
Mech: And mine must be the blue bomber Megaman.
Light: We should test them after school.
Everyone: Right!
Light: Now if you excuse me, I got more Chili Dogs to eat!
Light light ate more chili dogs as he sighed in enjoyment.
Junkyard
At the junkyard the guys were setting up some stuff.
Light: Ok Mick so since you have Mario's powers you'll be able to jump higher than trees, gain power ups like the fire flower if we can find some, and launch fire from your hands.
Mick: Yeah I get it.
Light: Ok try doing a triple jump up to that platform.
Light poing over to a 10ft platform in the air.
Mick: Ok let's do this.
Mick gets a running start before jumping once and hitting his head on a beam and falling to the ground.
Light: Yeah, you need some work.
At another course Light was running in place doing some stretches.
Sky: Ok Light, all you need to do is go through this course with your speed.
Sky: Easy.
He gets a starting passion.
Sky: Here we go!
He got a great start and started running through the course before he was met with a sharp turn and fell short and crashed in a trash pile.
Light: Ok not that easy.
Sky and Vin were now having manicans in the path.
Sander: Ok Sky and Vin you have to use your Keyblade and sword to get past these.
Sky: Ok let's do this!
They get their weapons out and rush at the dummy's striking them as much as they can. Sky has an idea before he throws his keyblade and instead of coming right back it hits Vin making him lose his sword and nail a mannequin in the face.
Sky: Ok looks like I don't have that power but we got the job done.
Sander: Um guys I said get past them not destroy all of them.
They look around seeing that the mannequins either had their arms off, head off, or whole body off.
Vin/Sky: Oops…
Sander was now ready as Mech stood by him.
Mech: Ok friend Sander all you have to do is suck all of these chili dogs in one try.
Sander: Easy, if Kirby can do it, that means I can do it.
He then breathed out before his vacuum suck came in and he sucked up the chili dogs.
Mech: Congratulations, friend Sander.
Sander didn't stop thinking as he kept on sucking, eating chairs, boxes, and even a rotten banana peel. After he was finished he licked his lip satisfied.
Sander: That was good.
He then looked wide eyed as he saw everyone hanging onto something.
Sander: Oops.
It was now Mech's turn to get his arm cannon ready.
Light: Ok Sander all you need is hit that target there.
Mech: Yes, friend Light.
Mech readyed his arm cannon before charging up and blasting the target, hitting dead on.
Light: Wow you actually did it Mech?!
Mick: He did hit the target but look.
Before they can celebrate for him they see instead of just a target, which had a hole in it, he also blasted everything around it.
Everyone: Dangit
After more training they were all now lounging around thinking.
Light: Ok so we have a bit of control of our powers right now but we can get that fixed.
Mick: Ugh I think I have a concussion.
On an old radio a new report was kicking in.
News: In Forthway Avenue there is a bank robbery taking place with hostages being held.
Light then slowly turned to the guys.
Light: We can be heroes…
Everyone: What?!
Light: Guys here me out. We can save people, help people in need, and do what is right.
Mick: Light, that's crazy talk. We only had these powers for a day.
Light: Yeah a lot of people had powers for a day and they became heroes.
Mick: Well you're crazy, right guys?
Vin: It's not a bad idea.
Sander: It can be fun.
Sky: Well if Sander aggresses then I'm in.
Mech: I'm battle ready friend Light.
The guys then get beside him as they all look at Mick who just groaned.
Mick: Fine…
Light: Wahoo we're gonna become heros! Let's go stop some bad guys!
Before he can leave Vin grabs him.
Vin: Whoa we can't go out there now, we need costumes to hide our identity.
As he says that light shines around them and forms around them. Vin gave a smug grin to him.
Light: Not a word.
Transformation
Light raced around on screen as his hair forms into blue quills, his eyes turn emerald green, his shoes turn to red and white sneakers, he gain white gloves, and his collared shirt turns to a blue electricity hoodie with the Sonic emblem on the back before he stops and wags his finger.
Mick jumped around as he hit item boxes containing a red hat with an M, overalls, white gloves, and brown boots before he went into a wardrobe and broke out wearing them before striking a pose.
Vin had his sword in the ground as he took it out and swung it around making him wear a green tunic, brown pants and boots, and green elf cap, as his ears also got pointy before he strikes a pose doing a backslash.
Sky sees a light in front of him as he steps up and grabs it. The light then turns his clothes into black clothes with red lining around it, his hair grew more spiky, shoes with yellow in the middle, and a keychain wrapped around his neck before posing with his Keyblade on his shoulder.
Sander jumped up when he was in space before a pink star hoodie, pants and shoes wrapped onto him and his hair turned pink as he turned pink before he strikes a pose.
Mech opened his eyes as metal wrapped around his body except his head body as he grabbed a helmet and put it on before pumping up his arm cannon.
Transformation End
Bank
The police surround the bank as it's being robbed.
Police: Come out with your hand open and no one will get hurt.
In the bank the bank robbers had guns to people's heads.
Bank Robber: We ain't coming out until we got all our money. Now if you don't let us leave, we will keep these people.
Back outside the officers were starting to get worried as they looked at the chief who nodded his head.
Police: We decided to come to your demands please, give back the civilians and you can leave peacefully.
It was silent for a second before people then came pouring out and the bank robbers tried to make their escape.
Boss: Looks like we made it out boys!
They all started laughing until they got hit by a blue blur.
Boss: Who was that?!
Someone then jumped on their heads before jumping away.
Boss: Ok come out now!
?: If you insist!
A blur then came out of the alley, that someone being Light now looking like Sonic. They all pointed their guns at him as he was tapping his foot.
Boss: Who are you?
Light: Names Sonic the Hedgehog.
Boss: You're about to become deadmeat if you don't leave now.
Sonic: And what if I don't.
The boss then snapped his fingers making his gang shoot at him before Sander comes out now looking like Kirby sucks all the bullets up and firing back at them making them all dodge.
Criminal: Who's this puffball?
Sander: My name Kirby, poyo.
Another criminal fired at them as Sonic raced away dodging all the bullets with his speed and Kirby held his breath now making himself float in the air.
Criminal: Stop moving, you damn mouse!
Sonic: Can't live going fast.
Sonic then jumped over him as the criminal turned around to shoot he got hit in the face by a gloved hand seeing a Mick as Mario without the mustache.
Criminal: Oh no not another one.
Mick: Yeah and the name Mario.
Mario then jumped on his head and slammed his fist into his face sending him back having Sonic kick him into the wall. Another guy was about to shoot Sonic when Mech shot at them first.
Mech: Megaman is mega ready.
With Sander he was floating in the air as the boss and the other criminal were shooting at him but they were missing all their shots.
Boss: Get down here!
?: Ok!
Vin and Sky then jumped off the roof and slammed their weapons on them.
Boss: Who are these crazy people?!
Vin: Well I'm Link.
Sky: And I'm Sora!
They then rush at them, the last criminal grabbing his gun before Sora knocks it away and kicking his gut into the wall. The boss was shooting at Link as he parried most of his shots and chopped his gun in half and kicked him in the chest. The boss was knocked into the rest of his gang before he saw Sonic and the rest of the team step up to them.
Sonic: That was no good!
The police then arrived seeing that they beat the gang. News reports then surround them asking them questions when a girl with black hair and pencils in it comes up to them. This was Lois Lane.
Lois: Hi Lois Lane of the Daily Planetoid. We now see a group of young heros dressed as video game characters fight off a gang of bank robbers.
She then puts the microphone to Sonic's face.
Lois: Who are you and how did you do it?
Sonic: Well I'm Sonic the Hedgehog and all we did was work as a team and get the job done.
Lois: And what is this team called?
They all went wide eyed and started thinking.
Sander: We never went that far.
Mick: What is our name?
They then heard a buzz on their forearms and looked to see a holographic screen pop up seeing the words 'Level 2'. Sonic then got an idea.
Sonic: Were the team Level Up!
Lois: Well you heard it folks the day was saved thanks to the team Level Up!
Everyone cheered for the new team in town as someone as dark as the knight was standing there. That person was Batman.
