Beginning A/N: Well, here we go again. Sorry this update took so long. I had to take a break from this story to get the creative juices flowing once again. This chapter will be less about the conflict aspect and more going into detail about how Danny met each of his wives. And I'll be doing so in a sort of dream style flashback format. I hope that you all enjoy this chapter!

Dreams of Queens!

It was late at night when the meeting with the council had ended, and Danny had all but conceded that the empire would need to go to war once again. Knowing that everyone was very tired from the events of the day, what with the failed infiltration orchestrated by Vlad and the preparations for the Unification Festival, everyone was especially tired. And while the prisoners would be sleeping in their cells in the dungeons, Danny was leading his parents and sisters towards a set of guest bedrooms that they would be sleeping in for the night. After about ten minutes of walking, they arrived at two wooden doors that were ornate, but not as much as those to the throne room.

"Alright, through these doors are the rooms you all will be staying in for the night. Mom, Dad, you guys will be sharing the room on the right, Jazz, you've got the one on the left. Each room has its own bathroom as well as a personal onsen to wash up and soak away any aches and pains you may have." Danny explained.

"Wait, did you say onsen? As in a hot spring?" Maddie asked with an excited smile. "Ooh, I know exactly what I'm doing before bed tonight!"

"You and me both!" Jazz added.

Neither woman had ever been to an authentic hot spring, and now they got a chance to enjoy the real deal!

"We'll just leave you to get settled in, and we'll see you at breakfast tomorrow." Danny said.

With that, the family parted ways as everyone began to get ready for bed. Danny and his wives had gotten some supplies and went to their own personal onsen to have a relaxing soak. After everything they had been through that day alone, they felt that they needed it. Danny and Azula were the first to arrive in the onsen which was large enough to fit at least twenty people at once. During the war, they had used the onsen throughout their, at the time, divided lands in order to relax tense muscles and sooth wounds. It was nice to have some that could be used to just relax rather than as a reprieve before another battle.

Danny was wearing a pair of simple black swim trunks while Azula wore a red one-piece swimsuit that left her back exposed. She took her husband by the arm and guided him to a cropping of rocks to sit down where she could cuddle against him. Danny just smiled and wrapped an arm around Azula as they relaxed in a comfortable silence. These simple acts of affection never ceased to cause Azula to blush as red as a cherry as her body heated up. She blamed that on the lack of affection she received as a little girl when she was growing up under her father, Ozai's, influence.

It wasn't long before they were joined by Korra, Hancock, Ahsoka, Fasha, Urd, Mila-Rose, and Tayuya, all of whom were wearing swimsuits of their own. They sighed in relaxation as they entered the bath, the hot water doing wonders to ease their tired muscles and just wash their stresses away. They washed up and had a good soak for a good hour before getting out and dressing in their night clothes and retired to the main bedroom. The bed was very large in order to fit all of them on nights like these where they chose to all sleep together, instead of their usual rotate two at a time each night. Danny gave each of his wives a loving kiss as they bid each other good night, and as they fell asleep each of Danny's wives began to relive certain memories in the form of a dream.

Specifically, these were the memories of how they had begun to fall in love with their shared husband.

~Mila-Rose's Dream~

Mila-Rose didn't dare move. Every inch of her body was covered in severe burns from the old man's blade, and she was missing an arm. It was a miracle that the Arrancar beauty was still alive at this point. Not that she saw much of a point in living anymore.

Her friends, Apache and Sung-Sun, had perished in battle against the old man, incinerated by the very same flames that had burned her to a crisp. She saw that backstabbing bastard, Aizen, stab her master, Tia Harribel, through the chest and was fairly certain that she was dead too. Mila-Rose had nothing left to live for and felt it would be better for everyone if she had died, too. She glanced to her side as she heard approaching footsteps. It was the same young man who had landed the finishing blow on that bastard, Aizen.

What did he call himself again? Daniel? She didn't know, she hadn't been paying attention at the time.

Tears began to pool in her eyes as she saw him carrying a very familiar broken blade. It was the hilt and tsuba of Kyoka Suigetsu, Aizen's Zanpakuto. Daniel dropped the blade on the ground next to her and raised his foot. Mila closed her eyes as if accepting her fate, having seen just how deadly he could be even without a weapon. But her eyes snapped open as she heard a loud crunching sound. Painfully turning her head to the side, she saw the shattered remains of Kyoka Suigetsu, the blade and hilt crushed beneath the young man's boot. She was so shocked she didn't register Daniel kneeling down to pick her up until he had her in his arms. Mila let out a startled 'Eep!' and wrapped her good arm around his neck. At her questioning glance she received an answer that she hadn't been expecting from an enemy.

"No more death. No more killing. There's been too much of that."

She didn't know why, but she believed his words. He had been the enemy, but she didn't care. His words, while soft, were strong as the will the shined in his eyes but were also filled with warmth and truth. Nothing at all like the cold emotionless lies spoken by Aizen. Her lone arm tightened its hold around his neck as she buried her face in his shoulder, feeling the strong muscles brought on by rigorous physical training. If the situation were a little more light-hearted, she'd probably be blushing redder than a strawberry. She opened her eyes as she heard footsteps approaching, only to clench them shut as she began shivering with fear, her lone hand clutching Daniel's gi like a lifeline as she recognized the individual walking towards them.

Genryusai Yamamoto had been mostly healed, though he still needed to support himself using Ryujin-Jakka as a cane in order to walk. His visage remained stoic and emotionless as he approached the young man holding the injured Arrancar beauty in a bridal carry. A single gray eye peered out from beneath its eyelid at the young man.

"Fenton. What do you think you are doing?" Yamamoto asked.

Danny just leveled the old man with a light glare of his own, flaring his ki and, unknown to him at the time, spiritual pressure as he stood his ground.

"Precisely what any good person should be doing. I am helping someone who needs it." Danny said.

"You are well aware of what she is, and how long we have been fighting her kind." Yamamoto said.

He knew that the boy knew. Anyone with any sense could tell that the woman in his arms was an Arrancar, but he wanted to hear the answer from the boy himself.

"I am well aware, but what has this constant war done for anyone. All it has brought is death, despair, strife, suffering… not just for any one side, but for all involved. How much longer are you prepared to keep forcing people to fight? Refusing to find a peaceful solution to end this conflict?" Danny asked back. "How many more brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters must be sent to their doom before you finally choose to stop the fighting?"

Yamamoto remained silent, but he was quite impressed with Danny. Despite being so young, he seemed to have developed a tendency to act with great maturity when the situation called for it. True, he could still be reckless and impulsive, but it was clear that those instances were becoming less and less frequent.

"The killing stops now, old man. Let the survivors have their peace." Danny said.

Yamamoto was silent for a brief moment before he slowly said, "Let it be known, Daniel Fenton, that just as that Harribel woman is Kurosaki's responsibility, so too is this Arrancar your responsibility."

His words made Mila-Rose silently gasp. Her mistress… Tia… she was alive?

Danny merely summoned his ki and said "Fine." before flying off to the recovery station.

Mila-Rose gave a small smile as she fell unconscious in Danny's arms, happy that at least Harribel was still alive. And feeling surprisingly safe and warm in the young man's arms.

~Real World~

Mila sighed in comfort as she slept, a smile making its way to her face as she dreamed and unconsciously snuggled deeper into the man she loves. It was a long road to recovery, both physically and mentally, but with time and patience, as well as visits and talks with Tia, she was soon back to the way she was before being drafted into Aizen's army. Brash, hard-headed, and taking no guff from no one!

But she was usually quiet, calm, gentle and, dare I say, obedient when it came to Danny. She never questioned him. When he asked for her help with something she would help him without question. Even if it was for something as simple and mundane as helping him wash dishes or going out with him to pick medical herbs. She was like his shadow in a way. Although it had been a rather awkward and startling experience when Mila, after Danny and his, at the time, small army had found a set of natural hot springs, had decided that she was going to bathe with Danny. The lad had ended up a blushing mess as he sputtered at the sight of Mila wearing nothing but a towel as the Arrancar had shyly looked at the ground and poked her index fingers together, not unlike a certain formerly shy Hyuga.

"I was just going to wash your back." she had said.

Needless to say, both of them were very embarrassed after that experience. And neither could look the other in the eye without gaining atomic blushes for a few days afterwards.

But they quickly got over it.

Urd was breathing evenly as she slept with a content smile on her face. Like Mila, she too was remembering certain memories centered around their shared husband. But unlike Mila, these memories didn't involve combat or the aftermath of a great battle. Rather, it all begins with a simple wish. A wish that had changed her life forever.

~Urd's Dream~

It was a normal day for the half-goddess/half demon hybrid known as Urd. She helped maintain the codes of Yggdrasil and overall performed her duties as a goddess. But as she did her work, Urd couldn't help but feel as though she wasn't doing everything that she could be doing to help. She's seen how the people in the closed off lands have fought in an endless war for millennia and knows that they don't even know why they're fighting anymore. She also saw that someone from the other side of the veil, the side where conflict between nations has come to a sort of standstill, has crossed the boundary and was training to become stronger and end the war. A war that should have ended long ago. Urd sighed as she sat back in her chair, knowing that she couldn't directly interfere in the affairs of mortals. But there must be a loophole around that rule, right?

As she looked over another report, she received a phone call from a mortal. Could this be…?

Yes! This was her chance to grant a mortal's wish in person and maybe, just maybe, help put an end to the millennia long conflict that has plagued the closed off nations! She quickly picked up the phone and spoke into it.

"Hello, thank you for calling the Goddess Help Hotline. Please wait, I will take your call in person."

With that, she vanished in a flash of light.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the phone, Danny was left confused. He had tried to call his sister on the other side of the Veil and let her know that he was okay, but he must have dialed a wrong number. He shrugged his shoulders and hung up so he could try again, when suddenly his TV screen started glowing with a bright light! Danny sprung to his feet and got in a defensive stance, squinting his eyes due to the harsh light. But to his surprise, someone reached out and pulled their way out of the TV and into his living room. When the light died down, Danny's eyes grew comically wide as he was staring at what must have been one of the most beautiful women he's ever seen in his life! But seeing that she had come out of his TV screen, Danny did the one thing that made the most sense at the time.

He screamed at the top of his lungs and scrambled to the other side of the room, getting into a fighting stance in case this was an assassin sent to kill him.

Urd just giggled and said, "There's no need to be afraid, Mister Daniel Fenton. And you don't need to be so defensive either."

She set down on the floor, seeing as she had been floating at the time, and gave Danny a reassuring smile as he started calming down.

"Didn't mean to scare you like that. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the goddess, Urd." she said.

"Y-You're… a goddess? A literal Goddess? As in one of the deities from the many pantheons of various religions?" Danny asked.

"That's right. Although, I'm not quite so high on the pecking order as they are." Urd replied.

"Well, I think it's official, I've taken one too many hits to the head during my training and it's finally made me lose my marbles." Danny said to himself.

Urd didn't really pay this comment any mind as she walked closer to him.

"Our job is to help people like you who are in distress, so now I've come here to help you, Daniel." Urd said.

"Oh… well, that's… very considerate of you… Miss Urd. But no thank you." Danny said as he took an involuntary step back.

"I'm afraid it's protocol." Urd replied.

"But all I was doing was trying to get in contact with my sister back home, you know, let her know that I'm alive and doing well…" Danny started to say.

Urd giggled and said, "Call your sister? Is that what you wish for most? I have been sent here to grant you your heart's desire, however I can only grant one wish. It's part of the rules."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, back up a second! You can make any wish come true?" Danny asked incredulously. "That can't be right, I mean, there must be some sort of limits, right? I can't really wish for anything in the world, can I?"

For a brief moment, Danny imagined himself surrounded by women who loved him, showering him with love and attention. Hey, he's a red-blooded male and he wants to find his better half as much as the next guy. But he quickly stamped down that particular idea knowing that it was highly inappropriate and not the kind of lifestyle he wants to live. He also briefly imagined himself surrounded by gold, jewels, and various riches and artifacts that could set him up for life. He'd never have to work a day in his life with that kind of money. Yet again, he discarded that idea, as he didn't want to become like Vlad, who had used his ghost powers to acquire his vast fortune and make himself something of a monarch in the business industry. If Danny wished for something like endless wealth, then he'd be abusing such a wish, and he'd be no better than that demented fruitloop who clearly needs to either try online dating or get himself a cat.

Unknown to either Danny or Urd, Vlad sneezed in his office and felt like someone was insulting him behind his back and telling him to get a cat.

'Eh, maybe that kind of wish wouldn't be appropriate. If I'm eventually going to fall in love and get married, I want a woman who loves me for who I am, not because she was under the influence of a wish. Besides, I'm not some horndog like Dash.' Danny thought to himself. 'And I'm not going to waste a wish on something like money. Otherwise, I'll be no better than Vlad.'

That's when Danny's eyes narrowed.

'Hold on a minute. What am I thinking? I can believe that martial artists can summon their ki for devastating attacks, and even that there are warriors even stronger than Goku and Vegeta out there, but there's no way that wishes and goddesses can really exist. This must be a trick. Trunks and Goten must have set this up because I haven't even tried to get myself a girlfriend because of my horrible luck with girls back home-'

"I hardly think that your luck with the ladies is that bad, Mister Daniel." Urd said.

"Just call me Danny. Everyone does." Danny replied without thinking.

But then he realized something. He hadn't said any of that out loud. Had she… somehow read his mind?

"Okay, perhaps we should continue this discussion over a drink. Would you prefer coffee, or tea? Maybe some other warming beverage?" Danny suggested while offering Urd a drink.

"Normally, I would ask for something stronger, but you don't strike me as a heavy drinker." Urd said with a coy smile. "But I would like a cup of hot chocolate, if you have any."

And so began events that would lead to what would eventually be the best thing that ever happened to them.

~Real World~

In a rather strange turn of events, Danny ended up wishing that Urd would stay with him forever. He hadn't meant for that to be his wish; it had just slipped out and he hadn't really been thinking about his wish when he had said that. But Urd had checked in with the big boss and it was a completely valid wish. True, neither of them had been expecting such an outcome. But they did the best they could to grow accustomed to their new situation.

It had taken Urd and Danny some time to adjust to living together after that wish, but they made it work. Danny even helped Urd train to make herself stronger physically so that she wouldn't have to worry about being caught off guard by enemies that could get past her magic attacks. And in return, she had taught him some elemental spells that she knew could give him an edge in a fight during that war. They had especially come in handy in the final battle against Nobunaga's ghost.

And while Urd sleeps peacefully, let's take a peek at what Korra's subconscious is showing, shall we?

~Korra's Dream~

It all seemed surreal to Korra. Just a few months ago she had been imprisoned and powerless in a slave camp and about to be sold off as a slave. But then this powerful young man, Daniel if she remembered right from when she heard a name being spoken, and his own army of soldiers arrived and not only killed all of the slavers in this human trafficking ring, but also freed all of the slaves including herself. She winced in pain due to the many scars on her back caused by the slavers' whips as they had tried to break her in a more physical manner. It never got to anything sexual, thankfully, but it left many scars on her upper and lower back all the same.

"Is this everyone?" Danny asked a man dressed in samurai armor.

"Everyone that was still alive, yes. As per your orders we have given those who died in this horrid place a proper burial and marked their graves with their personal items so that their loved ones may come and say their farewells as well as identify their deceased loved ones." the soldier said.

Korra's heart grew heavy as she remembered how many people had died during her stay in this place. And she didn't know how many others had died before she was brought here. Honestly, she didn't want to find out. She flinched as she felt something being draped across her shoulders and saw that Danny had draped a cloak over her in an attempt to preserve her modesty. She pulled it tighter around herself, silently resolving to get new clothes to wear instead of the rags she was forced by those slavers to wear.

"There, that should do until we can get you some proper clothes." Danny said.

"Th-Thank you… Daniel…" stuttered Korra.

"Please, just call me Danny. Most people I know do." Danny insisted. "Now, tell me, what is your name, miss? And how did you end up captured by human traffickers?"

"M-My name is Korra." she stuttered again. "And I… I was ambushed. The President of Republic City, Raiko, paid off a couple of slavers to ambush me and get me out of the picture so he could implement his own plans for Republic City. I couldn't hear much, but… all I know is that it's not good."

"Then we must get back there and release the skeletons from his closet, so to speak." Danny said with narrowed eyes.

"Are you crazy? The people won't listen to anything we have to say!" exclaimed Korra.

"Then we won't speak. We just have to show them. Please, Korra."

Korra was hesitant to follow Danny. But for some reason, she felt as though she could trust him with her life. And not because he saved her from a fate worse than death. So, she hesitantly reached up and grabbed his hand as he pulled her up to sit behind him on Thorn's saddle. She jumped a little bit when she heard Thorn's telepathic voice which sounded… oddly musical.

"You can thank Daniel for upgrading the saddle." he said.

"Might want to hold on, Korra. This flight's gonna be fast." Danny warned.

But before Korra could ask what he meant; Thorn had taken off with a loud roar! Korra screamed from fear at the initial take-off as she wrapped her arms around Danny to keep from falling off. But about ten seconds into the flight, those screams of fear became screams of joy. She was having a blast flying on dragonback. Sure, she had flown on the back of a Sky Bison before, but this was something else entirely.

"Lean." Thorn instructed.

As the red dragon made a turn in the direction of Republic City, Korra did lean… but she almost ended up falling off of the saddle. Fortunately, she had a good grip on Danny and hadn't flown off.

"Not THAT much!" exclaimed Thorn.

Korra managed to right herself back onto the saddle as Thorn continued to weave his way through the rocky valley that they had been flying through to get Korra accustomed to riding on dragonback.

"The trick is to feel how your dragon moves, Korra. How they turn. And when they accelerate." Danny explained as Korra righted herself.

For the first time in a long time, Korra smiled with pure, adrenaline induced excitement as she tightened her grip on Danny.

"Come on, let's see what you've got!" she said to Thorn.

Thorn looked back at her with a smirk and said, "You want speed? Here we go!"

Thorn flew up high and went into a steep dive as he increased his speed more than Korra thought was possible. She screamed with pure joy as she tightened her grip on Danny so that she wouldn't fall off. She really didn't want to go splat.

"Hang on, Korra!" said Thorn. "You asked for it!"

Danny just laughed as Thorn pulled up out of his dive and leveled off. This reminded him of his first experience riding on the back of a dragon, a creature he had thought to be no more than a myth. But boy did this place prove him wrong.

"Thorn and I may truly be one as dragon and rider, but he's not fully grown yet. Once he is, I'll be able to fight from anywhere. Even from the tail." Danny explained.

"I want to try!" Korra said, a hint of her old self beginning to show through.

Danny laughed and warned her against it, but the Avatar just turned around and placed her feet on the saddle claiming that she could do it. But as she attempted to stand, she found it harder to keep her balance and saw just how high up they were and how narrow Thorn's tail was even with the added fin at the end. That was enough to make her lose her nerve and sit back down, holding onto Danny for dear life.

"Uh… maybe not yet." she said.

Danny chuckled and replied with, "Yeah, maybe not yet."

In the real world, much like Urd and Mila-Rose, Korra also subconsciously snuggled up to her husband and tightened her grip on him. She smiled in her sleep as she relived her memories of the events that led up to them falling in love and getting married.

They knew that war was on the horizon, but for the moment, they were content and happy.

And they weren't about to let a revenge-crazed ghost take that happiness away from them.

***To Be Continued…***

Ending A/N: I really didn't want to break this chapter into two parts, but this likely isn't going to be a two-parter. Writing out how Danny met his wives all in one chapter is seriously blocking the creative flow for this story and making it difficult for me to update this story. Therefore, I have decided that I will be writing individual oneshots connected to this story for each of Danny's wives. Some of which may be two or threeshot stories. I've already written one, and it's called The Phantom of the Empire: Under the Weather, so go ahead and check that one out and tell me what you think of it. In the meantime, thank you all so much for reading this new chapter, and I hope that you all have a splendid day!
