A.N: The sixth chapter of Vocantem Ventis.
Enjoy.
Back at the Scraptor Nest, D-Structs had, by walking on his treads, to get close to the Scraptor that was sleeping with his claw held tightly in its arms, grunting as he did so. Unfortunately, his stomping roused the slumber creature. As soon as it did so, he lunged forwards in an attempt to grab one of his stolen parts, only for the Scraptor to let out a screech and drag it backwards while the white and black T-Trux slammed down onto some of the scrap.
He let out a growl of frustration. Up on the ledge, Lloyd, Break-Itt and Smash-Itt were watching in silence with board expressions on their faces. "The more things change, the more they stay the same," came a voice from above them. All four of them looked to see Skrap-It and Scrapper appear with the new T-Trux coming to a stop behind them. When he saw their master he let out a short, but maniacal, chuckle, while the latter growled in return.
"Scraptor problems, D-Structs?" he asked, with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "I must say, it always tugs at my gears to see my little brother in trouble, even when it's his own fault," he added plainly. "Wait. D-Structs is your brother as well?" said Skrap-It in astonishment, turning around to look up the Trux he and Scrapper had brought with them before turning back to their master. "I did not see that coming either! Kkkkt"
"Neither did we!" chipped in Break-Itt and Smash-Itt together, while Lloyd rolled his eyes at the pair. D-Structs, however, was more eager to get things over and done with. "Just get me out of here D-Stroy," he replied. "Oh, so soon? But we haven't seen each other in such a long time?" D-Stroy said in what can best be described as a deceivingly innocent tone. "Wouldn't you like to take some time to catch up first?" he asked before letting out a chuckle
D-Structs growled at this. "I knew this was a mistake." "What was?" his brother asked. "Sending your little Scraptool and Screptool friend to find me?" he continued, gesturing at the aforementioned Tools who looked up at him. "Though I must admit, I do admire Scrapper's resume. But why the others?" D-Stroy asked as Lloyd, Break-Itt and Smash-Itt came over. "Since when did T-Trux start working with their kind? Such greedy little creatures."
"And selfish, kkkt Don't forget selfish," added Skrap-It. He let out a yell a moment later as D-Story sent him flying with his tail. The other Tools watched as he crashed into some nearby rocks. "You two are related," commented Lloyd as he glanced up at the large T-Trux. "If you're not going to help me, D-Stroy, then go!" D-Structs called up, already forgetting his earlier hopes of being rescued.
"Help you?" said D-Stroy with wide eyes which quickly narrowed. "Oh, right," he added sarcastically. "That's why I'm here. It's so ironic, isn't it?" His younger brother frowned. He knew where this was going. "You asking for my help after what happened that night?" said D-Stroy, turning away. "Wait, what night? What did he do?" asked Skrap-It. "Kkt See, this is the kind of stuff best friends tell each other," he said, glancing down at his master.
The white and black T-Trux looked down at the ground. He knew exactly which night his older brother was referring too. "It seems to be an interesting story, whatever it is," said Scrapper, nonchalantly. He looked up at D-Story. "Would you mind telling us?" he asked. A dark smile spread across said Trux's face. "Of course, Scrapper," he replied. "You seem willing to listen. It all started many moons ago..."
FLASHBACK
Lightning struck the cliff above with an almighty crash, while the thunder echoed through the canyon after it, the sound beating off the rock walls like drums. With a growl of, "There they are!" escaping him as they slid to a stop, D-Structs stared wrathfully at the three Hydrodons he and his brother were facing who looked up from the ore they were eating at the sound of his voice.
Giving out a loud roar he surged forwards ignoring his brother's cry as they raced towards the three trux "No! D-Structs, not here! The canyon is too narrow! We'll use the same plan we used for the Rollodons and take them in the valley!" he declared as he drew level with the other t-trux who rolled his optics. "Enough plans!" he growled, pulling slightly ahead. "We take them here!" a lightning bolt sounded out above them seemingly emphaizing his point.
"I'll show you who's slow!" he added. D-Structs let out loud growls as he rammed into the first of the Hydrodons before slamming the second and third with his tail. D-Stroy let out his own battle cry as he rammed into the third trux with his horns. For a second, the battle transformed into a standoff before all three of the Trux in front of them aimed upwards and shot out powerful jets of water from their cannons.
Both T-Trux looked up to see that the already unstable rocks above them were becoming looser and looser by the second. "D-Structs, look out!" was the last thing the latter heard as he charged forward to avoid the falling debris which landed where he would have been a second ago. D-Story, meanwhile, struggled to see where he had gone as the rocks continued to pour down on him from above, blocking his view.
END OF FLASHBACK
Back in the present, the older of the two brothers had paused in his story, his face grim. "When I pulled myself out of the rubble, my spike was broken," continued D-Stroy, "and my dear little brother was gone." Skrap-It sighed sadly. "Such a shame when an avalanche comes between family kkt" he said before letting out a yell as the silver grey and black T-Trux rolled forwards and nearly sent him over the side of the ledge he was on.
"So tell me," said the older D-Brother as the Scraptool pulled himself back up, "were you embarrassed about what happened, or did you finally see a way to shake me for good? Or was it a bit of both," he suggested. "Just get me out of here and we can go our separate ways again," D-Structs replied, glancing up at his brother before looking away again. D-Story chuckled at this. "Oh, don't worry, I'll get you out," he said.
"It's at the very top of my list of my things to do today." His voice and gaze then hardened. "On one condition. You say it," he demanded. "Say what?" the white and black T-Trux growled back. "I don't know what you're talking about." "Oh, but I think you do," D-Stroy replied in a meaningful tone. "Come on, little brother, just move those jaws up and down and say it," he continued, as he rolled back along the ledge.
"I know what's going on here," said D-Structs, pivoting around to face him. "You're scared, you know you can't handle all these Scraptors!" His brother scoffed loudly before letting out a cackle. "Nice try!" he called down. "That was a valiant effort, but I'm still waiting!" the larger T-Trux added in a sing-song voice. "I'm not saying anything to you," the other replied, inching forward a little.
"Really?" said D-Stroy as he moved onto the rock bridge above the Scraptor nest. "That's a shame," he continued, as the sky turned from blue to a dark pink. "Because I think you've officially run out of time," he added, looking towards the eastern horizon. D-Structs followed his gaze and saw the sun as it appeared over the rocks above the nest. "Rise and shine, sleepy treads!" D-Stroy called as the Scraptors, the moment the sunlight touched them, woke up.
"The early Scraptor gets the T-Trux."
Those words rang in D-Structs's audio receptors as he looked about him as his soon-to-be attackers swarmed out from seemingly every nook and cranny. "Look out, D-Structs!" Skrap-It called down. "Ooh, I can't watch!" the Scraptool said, turning away and covering his eyes as the screeches from down below grew louder. "Oh, maybe just a little. Kkt" he muttered to himself, turning back around to see what was happening.
One of the Scraptors tried to jump onto the white and black T-Trux's face but he caught it in his jaws and flung it into two more he came charging at him from his two o'clock. He was barely spared a moment as two more jumped onto his tail. "Having fun yet, little brother?" D-Stroy called down as D-Structs shook himself as hard as he could to get his attackers off of him. The other T-Trux chuckled at the sight.
"I know it sure looks fun from where I'm standing," he added. D-Structs let out a loud grunt before slamming his clawless tail onto the ground, knocking the two Scraptors off of it before slamming it back down onto their heads. The silver grey and black T-Trux chuckled once again. "I'd be happy to come down there and lend you a tail. As long as you say what you need to say," he called, as another of the metal menaces jumped onto the back of his brother's head.
The next attacker let out a screech as it charged forwards only for the younger D-Brother to slam it into the ground and then away from him with his head. Another one came at him from behind but he knocked away before doing the same to a third Scraptor that tried to jump onto his head like the first one. Unfortunately, D-Structs was so focused on the ones in front of them that he didn't see one race up from behind him and jump onto his tread housing.
He let out a roar of anger and pain as he felt its claws dig into his frame. "You know you got a little something on your tread," D-Stroy called down as he began to shake his smaller opponent off but with no success. "Sure you don't want me to help you with that?" the other asked, kicking a small stone off the edge of the cliff he was one before letting out a laugh. D-Structs grunted in response to this as he looked for someway to dislodge the Scraptor on his right tread.
That chance came when another one tried to latch onto his head. Grabbing it with his jaws, he swung it straight into the first one which sent both of them tumbling across the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust as they did so. He grunted before turning back to face three more Scraptors coming straight at him. "I'll just say it!" said Skrap-It desperately before darting up to where D-Stroy was standing.
"Your spikes are scary. Your spinning wrecking ball grinder thing is really cool. And your personality is very, I don't know, memorable. Kkt" As he finished this, D-Structs sent one of the three attackers flying back across the ground, only for it to get up and charge right back at him, letting out a screech as it launched itself onto his head alongside another one. The white and black T-Trux tried to shake them off but only succeeded in falling forwards like before.
Seeing this, the rest of the nest closed in for the final blow while D-Stroy, Scrapper, and the Scraptools looked down from above. A roar escaped their quarry as he flung them every which way before looking up at his older brother. "Then fine," he growled. D-Structs raised his head and called loud and strong over the clamour that the Scraptors were making. D-Stroy leaned forward, eager to hear what he wanted to hear.
"You were right."
That was all the silver grey and black T-Trux needed to hear. Letting out a thundering roar, he leapt off the cliff in spin, his tail coming out on its chain before landing heavily on the ground below, sending two Scraptors flying as he did so. He laughed as he raced forwards and pulled the Scraptor on D-Structs's right off by the tail and flung it away. A second one came straight at him but he simply ducked and, using his head as a springboard, sent it flying.
D-Stroy missed the third one which leapt over his back, but sent a fourth and fifth one flying with his tail before charging forward and flinging a sixth away with his horns and slamming a seventh Scraptor into the ground with his tail. Going into a deliberate spin, the large T-Trux knocked the two remaining Scraptors off of D-Structs as he himself grabbed one and flung it into the nearest wall.
Continuing his move, the older D-Brother slid to a stop in front of the pile where the latter's claw was, sending the Scraptor that was near it flying. "You probably want this back now don't you?" D-Stroy quipped, as he grabbed hold of the tail and flung it towards his brother. It slid across the ground when it landed, tripping over one of their attackers as it did so. D-Structs let out a grunt as he took hold of the chain with his jaws and used it to knock away a Scraptor that tried to attack him.
"Scrapper! Get down here!" he called, his voice muffled through a mouthful of chain, as his brother sent one of the metal menaces into a wall before doing the same to two others while the white and black T-Trux slammed another with his claw. The Screptool wasted no time in leaping down into the fray. "That means you lot as well!" he shouted to Skrap-It and the others as he made his way into the battle.
One of the Scraptors hit by D-Stroy slammed into the ledge just an inch or so below the four Scraptools. "Uh, do we really have to?" asked Skrap-It as D-Structs knocked another attacker away before flooring another one. He looked up at the quartet and growled. "Just double checking," was the reply he got as the four leapt down into the nest. "Grab those bolts! Quickly!" ordered Scrapper, who was darting this way and that towards D-Structs.
Skrap-It raced forward, picking up a bolt as he did so while Lloyd grabbed a second one. One of the Scraptors tried to grab them only to be hit by D-Stroy's tail and sent flying whilst they dodged a second one only to trip over a piece of loose scrap and stop in front of their master on whom Scapper was already making repairs. "Uh, you want me to do your claw first or should I start with your-" Skrap-It began as D-Structs sent a Scraptor flying backwards with a blow from his head.
He then dropped his claw on the ground in front of the quartet. "Fix it all!" he roared. "Fixing it all! Kkt" the Scraptool replied before scurrying over to the spot on D-Structs right side tread where one of the bolts had been taken from earlier and began to screw it in while Lloyd did the same on the other side as D-Stroy continued to fight off the Scraptors. Once they were finished, Skrap-It joined Scrapper in welding one of the hubs on the left side tread housing.
"Aah!" the latter screamed as one of their attackers screeched right in their faces, only to be yanked back by D-Stroy who slammed into the wall behind him. The silver grey and black T-Trux then sent another flying with his tail. "Your brother is really a very good fighter. Do you know that?" observed Skrap-It as two Scraptors went for his master's older brother at the same time.
This resulted in one of them being grabbed by the T-Trux who spun around and hitting the second one away with his tail while the first one was flung into the wall opposite him. "Does he always talk so much?" D-Stroy asked. D-Structs let out a grunt as he flung away another Scraptor. "Always!" he barked back. "And... there, all fixed!" said Skrap-It, as he and Scrapper finished re-attaching their master's tail.
"See ya, Scraptors! Wouldn't want to be ya!" the former called, as the pair scampered down the chain and to relative safety. Giving a small shake, and feeling his claw back where it was, D-Structs let out a loud yell as he swung it around and sent two of his former tormentors flying. A loud screech came from one of the Scraptors as it and three others charged forward to attack the two brothers.
The two of them each knocked away a Scraptor with their heads. "Back to back, little brother," said D-Story, as they performed the same move again. "Like when we chased those Shockarachnids out of that canyon!" he continued as D-Structs hit one of them away with his head while his older brother hit two with his tail, sending one of them sliding across the ground and into one of the scrap piles.
D-Structs knew what his brother was getting at as he slammed four of their attackers with his tail before letting out a roar as he grabbed hold of a large rock on a nearby ledge and dragged it down to slam it onto a Scraptor's head. D-Stroy did likewise before fixing his flail back into place and pointed straight at the Scraptors. His younger brother, holding the rock firmly in his claw, moved in closer.
As he held the rock against the drills, letting out a grunt as he did so in confirmation that he was there, the silver grey and black T-Trux activated them, grinding it down and sending a shower of projectiles at their attackers who reeled back in search of cover. D-Story was quick to capitalize on this and turned around. "Now!" he called and the pair charged straight at the scrap wall that barred their way to freedom.
With loud yells the two T-Trux smashed through the barrier, sending pieces flying in all directions as they raced away, Scrapper, Skrap-It, Lloyd, Break-Itt, Smash-Itt and the Scraptors following close behind them as they shot around a corner. Moving fast, the two brothers slammed their tails into the nearest wall of the valley. As the five Tools raced towards them with the Scraptors right on their tails, a shower of rocks came crashing down.
Scrapper leapt forward and landed on his feet while the four Scraptools tripped over their own and ended up in a heap on the ground. Behind them, the Scraptors let out screeches and grunts as some of their pack pulled themselves from the rubble. "Whew!" said Skrap-It, turning around as the two T-Trux moved forward to admire their handiwork. "Look at that. Now an avalanche brings a family back together. Oh! It's so... kkt Beautiful. Ktttttt"
D-Stroy let out a sigh before turning to D-Structs. "Just like old times," he said while the latter growled in agreement. A while later, the group were travelling down the valley when the silver grey and black T-Trux decided to question them. "So what are you doing in my valley anway?" he asked, glancing over at D-Structs while the five Tools followed on behind them. "Don't you mean our valley?" the white and black T-Trux asked.
His older brother chuckled as he pulled ahead to turn around and face him. "It was never our valley to begin with, little brother. I just let you think it was." D-Stroy replied, which earned him a small growl in response. "Come one," the former said, starting off down the way again. "I've got ore in my cave. Leave the Scraptools. But bring Scapper, I like him." "Hello? We're right here!" protested Skrap-It while Scrapper stayed where he was, as did their master who growled.
The silver grey and black T-Trux stopped when he heard this and turned back to face him. "Not coming?" he asked. "I don't share," D-Structs growled back in a low tone with narrowed eyes. "Well, look who's all grown up," replied his older brother with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "Does that mean you have a territory of your own now?" D-Stroy asked. "Love to know where it is, you know, in case I'm ever in the area and need help," he said dryly.
Like before, D-Structs growled in response. "You lied to me about D-Molish." At this D-Stroy's eyes widened before he regained his composure. "Of course, I did. You wouldn't be the T-Trux you are today." The other let out a threatening growl. His older brother shrugged. "Guess I'll see you around, little brother," he replied whilst back up. He then spun himself in a circle, kicking up dust and letting out a chuckle as he did so before slamming his tail into the ground.
This created a huge cloud of dust which took a minute or so to clear. When it did, the silver grey and black T-Trux was gone. "Hey, that's your trick," said Skrap-It, coming forward. He then let out a gasp. "You didn't learn it from him did you?" he asked, glancing up at his master. D-Structs growled back at his minion before rolling off. "Uh, a-and wait! Hold on!" the Scraptool continued.
"Why didn't you tell him about the crater? Kkkt Come on! I really want to get to know you better," he added as the sextet emerged from the exit to the valley and headed across the open space towards the forest beyond. None of them noticed D-Stroy watching them from behind a rock. He had heard everything Skrap-It was saying. "Hmmmm. "crater"? Now that sounds like a good time," he said to himself before letting out a maniacal laugh.
Had the group known about this then it is certain that they wouldn't have stayed around as long as they did before moving off. Troy was out in front as they made their way through the forest, clearly knowing which way to go. Silence mainly prevailed as the discovery of the prints left by D-Structs, the Scraptools, and as of yet Scrapper and D-Stroy, had unsettled them greatly.
It was bad enough that they were being hunted by Maul and his followers, but knowing that their old enemy was lurking about somewhere, and that there were two more foes added into the mix, didn't help matters. Soon though, the trees began to thin out and the sound of running water reached their audio receptors. At last they broke through the edge of the trees onto the bank of the river.
Before them, lay a large strip of silver grey water that, despite its size, gurgled quietly as it ran along. Everyone stared at it for the longest of times before Troy moved forward to the edge of the water. "This is it," he said, turning his head to look back at the others. "See that natural ramp on the opposite bank? That's where we're aiming for," Troy continued, gesturing with his horns to where there was indeed a wide gap in the bank on the other side.
"You're right on that, Troy," said Ty, as he moved up alongside the Edozeratops. "And what is more," said Revvit, "the water here seems to be hardly moving." "Looks can be deceiving, Revvit, take it from me," countered Shade. Click-Clack watched the river before his whole body began to shake. "I-It l-looks a l-l-long way to the o-other side," he said. "Don't worry," said Luna calmly. "Troy and I are very good swimmers, we'll go ahead first."
"Luna's right," agreed the Edozeratops. "This isn't our first time dealing with water." Ty nodded before turning to face the others. "Once Troy and Luna are across, we'll all go into the water together, right?" he said before turning back to the two Trux. "Good you two," he said. "Let's move," said the former before he and the latter drove straight into the river, leaving more than a few ripples in their wake, and began making their way across.
"Showoffs," muttered Waldo, to no one in particular.
Troy and Luna were easily making their way across the river, only dipping fully under the surface when they got to its centre. Thankfully, the water was relatively clear and they were easily able to work a path along. Back on the bank, the others continued to wait and watch as they saw the pair emerge from out of the depths. After a few minutes, everyone saw that the Edozaratops and Gluphosaur had driven up onto the opposite bank.
They were both dripping wet but they were fine. "We made it!" Troy called back. "The current's not as strong as first thought, and the only really deep part is in the middle. If you aim for where we are you'll make it just fine." That was all the confirmation Ty needed. "Line up along the bank and we'll all go in together," he ordered, as he edged into the water. "Good luck." "Good luck," everyone said to each other as, one by one, they moved into the river.
"What about our supplies?" asked Ace, as Ton-Ton rolled up to the water's edge. "We can't take them underwater, and we can't just leave them here." "She's right," said Ronto. "But how are we gonna get them across?" Everyone thought for a moment before Rusty spoke up. "I know. Me and Skya can carry the trailer across between us while the rest of you can carry Ton-Ton." "That's a great idea Rusty, you're a genius," said Blue Diamond.
Said Craneosaur smiled in response. "Thanks. I like using my head from time to time." And so it was done. The blue Ankylodump's trailer was disconnected from him to allow the Reptools to wrap Skya and Rusty's hooks securely around it. The task of carrying Ton-Ton himself fell to the Torttools, the younger ones lifting him up onto their backs while their mother got behind him in readiness to help carry him over the deeper part of the river.
Eventually, the convoy were heading across the river. "That's it everyone!" called Luna. "Keep going, Rose! Keep going, Rolley! You're halfway there!" she called out encouragingly. "Hold on," said Troy moving forwards as something caught his eye. "Something's wrong." As Shade reached the bank he looked back to see if the others had made it without any trouble. "Where's Ty?" he asked, seeing that the red T-Trux was nowhere to be found.
"Something's *pant* gone wrong *pant* over there," said Click-Clack, as he pulled himself onto a nearby rock. Everyone looked back to see Ty still in the middle of the water and apparently straining at something beneath the surface. Dozer, who was three quarters of the way across, heard the call from Shade and looked back to see what was going on. "Ty! What's wrong?" called Dozer. "My wrecking ball's stuck on something!" the other replied.
"I can't see what's happening," said Splat, as Rose came up onto shore. "Ty's tail is stuck on something in the middle of the river," she reported. "Good grief! That's all we need!" groaned Troy. "Dozer, do you need any help?" he asked, as the yellow Dozeratops headed back to help his friend. While all this was happening, the red T-Trux was still trying to get his wrecking ball free from whatever was holding it down.
He let out a roar as he pulled harder and harder, trying to get himself free but to no avail. Unbeknownst to anyone, from out of nowhere, and rapidly approaching the scene and Ty at an alarmingly fast rate was a huge pile of debris made up of logs, branches, bushes and everything in between. Click-Clack was the first to notice it coming. "Skya! That mess of debris! It's going to hit Ty! It'll take him under!"
Everyone, including Skya, looked round when they heard this and they too saw the pile of debris heading straight for their friend. "Oh no!" cried Banger. Ty had seen the oncoming mass as well and was trying even more frantically to get himself free to safety. "Hang on, Ty, I'm coming!" yelled Dozer, who reappeared after crossing the deeper part in the middle of the river. On the bank, Troy was quick to act and plunged straight into the water.
Following after the Edozeratops, Revvit, Click-Clack, Luna, Skya, Rusty, Blue Diamond, and Rolley also raced in to help. "The Tools and I will help Dozer rescue Ty! The rest of you try to keep that thing back!" he ordered. But things were about to get worse for the group. Just before they reached the centre of the river an explosion seemed to take place as a huge hulking form launched itself out of the water and lunged straight at Troy.
Whatever it was, it had its jaws wide open and had the clear intention of dragging him under. It would have most certainly done this had Skya, with lightning speed, shot out her hook, latched onto one of the railings on his back, and pulled him out of danger just in time. The rescue party stared in shock as the creature disappeared beneath the surface of the water. "What. Was. That?" asked Rolley, his eyes wide like the others.
The pile of debris, meanwhile, had gotten ever closer and was now a Craneosaur length and a half away and closing in rapidly. Suddenly Ty's tail was yanked hard and he let out a gurgling yell as he was dragged underwater. But Dozer had reached him. "Hang on, Ty! I'm coming!" he called before taking a breath and diving under the surface himself. A minute or so passed until the two Trux emerged once again, the latter supporting the former.
"It's no good, Dozer," said Ty weakly as the debris came closer and closer. "I'm done for. Save yourself. Go on!" he ordered. The oncoming pile was now almost right on top of them and there was no way that any of the others could get to them in time. "Go back to the others," Ty pleaded, as Dozer slowly began to move him along, ignoring the red T-Trux. "They'll need you." "Look!" shouted Rose as the debris closed in on the two Trux.
"You didn't abandon me when I needed help," Dozer as he took to pushing Ty to get him moving. But it was too little too late. With a loud thump the mass of floating debris slammed into the pair who, with loud cries, which were turned into gurgles by the water, were forced under. And they didn't come back up. "Can anyone see them?" asked Shade. Skya extended her neck to try and spot either of the pair.
As she watched, Ty's head suddenly emerged from the water and flopped backwards against one of the logs. "Ty's caught on one of the tree trunks!" she called down to the others. "Come on! Maybe there's still time!" said Troy before he took off down the river, the others quickly following along behind. As they pursued the pile of debris a loud roar began to fill their audio receptors. "That sounds like a waterfall!" cried Ace.
"All the more reason to hurry!" Blue Diamond yelled back. But their efforts would be for naught. It was indeed a waterfall they could and, while it wasn't a large one, it was still large enough to do damage to anything, or anyone, who got caught in the current of the river. The debris was rapidly approaching it, the unconscious body of Ty-Rux still on one of the tree trunks. A large rock broke the fall in two but there was no chance of a collision being avoided.
With a loud splintering crash, the debris smashed into the rock, as the two of the tree trunks acting as a raft for various branches, logs and bushes on top of them broke in half went over the edge taking both the red T-Trux and a good portion of the assorted debris with them with a smaller pile remaining jammed behind the rock at the top of the waterfall. Still knocked out from the earlier impact, Ty plunged into the raging water below.
Barely a few moments later the others arrived. "Can you see anything, Skya?" Ton-Ton asked as they came to a halt. "Some of the debris is caught at the top of the waterfall," she called down. "But there's no sign of Ty or Dozer." "A-Are you s-sure?" Click-Clack asked nervously as everyone reached the edge of the bank at the bottom of the falling torrent, trying desperately to see if they could spot any signs that their friends were alive.
But nothing came.
At last Troy closed his eyes and spoke, his voice heavy. "I'm afraid we have to assume the worst, everyone," he said solemnly. "That Ty and Dozer aren't coming back to us alive." "No... No..." said Rusty, his lower jaw trembling. "It... It can't be," said Garby. "I wish it wasn't my friend," agreed Shade, "but there's nothing we can do for them now." A mournful silence fell as the group remembered their fallen friends.
Suddenly, Scorcher, who was looking down at the river. started. "Oh! Wait! Look!" he cried, pointing out into the middle of the water while the others strained their eyes to try and see what the Scraptool had seen. They stared in amazement as a curved horn followed by two larger ones and a blade emerged from the water. "That's Dozer!" shouted Rose. Acting quickly, Skya and Rusty shot out their hooks and latched on to the railings on the yellow Trux's back.
Following their example, Troy and Shade splashed into the water and made their way over to their friend. The former grabbed hold of Dozer's left front tread whilst Shade lowered his blade and positioned himself behind his fellow Dozeratops. Together, the four then began pulling, or in Shade's case pushing, their waterlogged friend to the safety of the bank. It was not an easy task for the current was strong and buffeted them constantly.
In the end though, tired but triumphant they finally brought him close enough for the others to help pull him ashore. Without waiting a second, the Tools pounced and began to swarm over him, checking every part that they could. "Well?" asked Luna, a worried look on her face. Minutes ticked by before Revvit emerged from their friend's inner workings to give them a report on Dozer's condition. "How bad is it?" asked Locker.

"He is fine, but many of his pipes are blocked by excess water that he swallowed, including those connected to his pressure valves." "So the main problem we're facing is how are we going to get that water out of his system," said Ronto. "How are we gonna do that?" asked Split. "I don't know, buddy," said Rusty.
"I really don't know."
