Chapter 2 Blanks and Celebrations

Aki and Mia soon found a nearby bench for the two of them to sit down. Soon Aki couldn't take it anymore. "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?"

"I DON'T KNOW," she said with tears. "This makes no sense the most I can think of is that deja vu isn't the idea of brains going into overdrive but in reality a receiver for temporal thoughts, but if that's the case then could other psych abilities exist or can the brain just understand time better than we can? Maybe the mind can understand time better or perhaps we've been looking at time all wrong from the start."

"I don't understand any of that or what it means."

Mia bit her thumb nail slightly as she thought. "In a nutshell the pills sent our minds to our past selves."

"So we really time traveled, wait how come you're still you? You don't look like you've changed at all." said Akihisa, noticing that she looked as good as she did in the future, the only real difference he could tell was that her skin looks clearer and her hair was a bit more shiny.

Mia puffed out her chest with pride making her chest bounce slightly. "I make sure to take care of myself. Just because I'm a scientist doesn't mean I can't have good health as well."

"Well that's true but what now?" asked Akihisa

They both sat in silence as they thought of the next step before both of them began to cry tears of joy and hold each other's hands. "WE HAVE A SECOND CHANCE!"

"I'm no longer a disgraced scientist."

"And I have a chance to make something of my life."

Mia stood up. "Let's celebrate." She then realized something and took out her phone and typed a few things into her bank app. "I HAVE MONEY." With tears running down her face before turning to joy.

Aki drooled at the thought of top shelf liquor. "Let's hit up a bar, I haven't been to one since I lost my job."

"Well you haven't lost it yet, oh wait a minute how old are you right now?" she asked.

"I'm twenty five."

"No, I mean right now in this time, when you were in highschool."

"Seventeen," Aki gasped as he realized he had a whole new problem. "I CAN'T GET A DRINK." as he fell to his knees and weeped.

Mia knelt down and put a hand on his back. "I hate to add more to your problems but don't you have family that you need to worry about."

"Oh I live on my own currently so I don't need to worry about that just yet, the most I need to worry about right now is my food budget." he said as he remembered his old problem with saving enough money for food. 'I'm back to eating chunks of ramen for food.'

"You live by yourself." said Mia as she had an idea. "Well if you're willing to risk it, I can give you money for food while I grab the booze and meet you back at your place."

"Huh? You serious?"

"Yeah I would offer my place but if I remember correctly I currently live next to some crappy ass neighbors right now." said Mia as she remembered the hypocrites that would file complaints when Mia would be playing music while nothing happened when they had massive parties. Assholes. "You don't have any bad neighbors do you?"

"Well if I remember correctly I don't have neighbors right now." said Akihisa as he remembered the beginning of his second year of highschool. "Yeah this is the year where my friends came by quite a bit cause I had no neighbors to bother us if we played video games too loud." Then he remembered how this conversation started. "Wait but are you serious about the booze."

"Sure," she said as she pulled some cash from her wallet. "Get food and I'll grab the booze, just give me your address." They agreed and traded phone and address numbers. "Then right before they parted Aki remembered his school. Mia grinned and winked. "I can handle that as well, just wait for me at your place."

Akihisa was successful in buying food and already had an idea of what to cook, but his next problem came from arriving at his old home. "Man I really was a mess," he said as he saw the clutter he had left. He quickly cleaned the place up and made the place look presentable before he got started on the food, he knew it was early but he couldn't help himself his stomach was screaming at him and he was over the moon. 'I can fix my life, I can make sure I don't make the same mistakes twice. Thank you time travel, wait a minute, I'm a time traveler, I'm like the MC in all of those light novels.' he thought as his mind raced at the possibilities of what he could do. Knock Knock

Aki went to answer the door to find Mia standing there with two bags and a backpack. "Something smells good." she said as she sniffed the air.

"Hey now let's not worry about that right now. We have a chance to make things right and that hasn't even happened yet so we can worry about that later."

Mia blushed and smiled. "You're one hell of a guy, you know that."

"Thanks," as he put the food on the table.

Akihisa couldn't even deny it. "Yeah it wasn't until after high school did I realize to prioritize food over video games."

"Mostly," he admitted. "When I wasn't eating like a dumbass, I was being poisoned to death by Himeji's cooking." as he shuddered at the memory of the food. "Kubo?" said Akhisa a little surprised, "What's he doing here?"

"Relax man," said Yuuji "We are worried, it's just that it's pointless to freak out right now, chances are he acted out today because of something stupid."

"I hate to say it but Yuuji's right," said Hideyoshi "Chances are it's something minor."

"I wouldn't call time travel minor, Hideyoshi." whispered Akihisa.

"Is that a guy or a girl, I can't tell by voice." whispered Mia.

"Hideyoshi is Hideyoshi" whispered Akihisa promising to explain later.

"What are you doing here anyway Kubo," asked Kouta

"Look, if I had something to do with Akihisa's strange behaviour today, I won't be able to forgive myself." said Kubo, a bit dramatic.

Mia grew a sly smile. "Oh got yourself a yaoi boyfriend huh?"

Akihisa was about to make a retort when someone started banging on the door, "Akihisa, open up dumbass and let us in." yelled Minami.

"Akihisa, it's Himeji, please if you're in there open up, we're worried about you."

"Will both of you stop," said Yuuji as he began to pat the wall, "I'll just open the door with the spare key." Mia's eyes went wide as she grabbed her coat, Akhisa grabbed her hand to calm her down. "Huh, hey the spare key is missing?"

Mia raised an eyebrow at Akihisa, "I forgot which pocket I put my keys in and I didn't want the food to spoil as I looked so I used the spare key to get in." Mia nodded getting the picture.

As the group got a bit confused, Kubo got an idea. "If that's the case then he might actually be in there, he might have been too confused to look for his key and used the spare one instead."

"That makes sense," said Himeji now worried Akihisa might have collapsed or fallen ill, causing her to panic. "What do we do?" with tears coming out of her eyes.
"We break the door down," said Minami as she dropped her bag. "Yuuji help out here."

Akihisa was now freaking out, he turned to see Mia grabbing her phone and a business card. "What are you doing?" he whispered.

Yuuji stopped Minami. "How about before we damage Akihisa's property we do things a little more subtle. Kouta can you pick this lock?"

Kouta bent down to the lock, "Maybe I didn't bring any of my picks with me, but I can try with a paperclip and a bobby pin."

Akihisa was now starting to freak out, he turned to see Mia whispering to the phone

before ending the call. "Okay I think we're good."

"What did you do?" she didn't say anything as she looked around the corner at the door.

It didn't take long for it to happen as they soon heard heavy footsteps and another voice. "HEY, what are you kids doing?"

Akihisa turned to Mia, "My landlord?" she nodded with a smile.

"Uh sorry sir, but we came to check on our friend." said Kubo trying to defuse the situation.

"Nice try, I just had one of my tenets call whispering in fear that someone was trying to break into one of the apartments, leave now before I call the cops."

Kouta quickly hides the paperclip and bobby pin. "Shit someone saw us."

Yuuji didn't believe that. 'Akihisa doesn't have neighbors right now and the fence is too high for someone across the street to see us.' he then turned to look at the pissed off landlord. "Hey buddy have you seen Akihisa around?"

"Please sir," pleaded Himeji "He was acting really weird today and we just want to make sure he's okay."

"Himeji," said Akihisa quietly touched with how worried the girl was about him and feeling a little scummy for hiding. Mia saw this and slowly gave him a hug from behind him pressing her tits against his back. "Mia?"

"Don't worry, just relax, you'll make it up to them later." she said

The landlord was now feeling a little conflicted after seeing the worried looks on the girls faces. The landlord scratched his head. "Look if you come down to my office I'll write down your numbers and call you guys when he comes back, how does that sound?"

Soon all the kids agreed and left, "Wow, that was close' said Mia as she peeked through the blinds seeing that they had left. She then turned to see Akihisa still sitting on the ground. "Hey are you okay, I get you must feel bad making your friends worry, but"

"That's not it," he said, a little embarrassed. "When you pressed your boobs on my back, it got me hard again."
