Triple Lout, Triple Problems
Alright, so these next few chapters will be sort of filler chapters that have neat plot ideas that I think you will enjoy.
That's all!
It was another standard day for our Drago Power Rangers, the six of them were currently surrounded by devil faced Scale Shedders and doing their best to get rid of them and stop them from attacking the city of Berk.
Astrid, currently in her blue Ranger suit, was facing off against four Shedders who surrounded her as she raises her arms and calls, "Spikenad-!"
But before she could call it, Snotlout, in his red suit, jumps in and calls, "I got it! Fire Spin!" He spins and forms a ring of flames which hit the Shedders but also narrowly misses Astrid in the process as she quickly ducks.
"Hey! Watch it!" Astrid calls. "I only have so few of these suits, you know!"
Not even listening, Snotlout glances back and nods, "Just doing my duty!"
Fishlegs, in his yellow suit, had about 6 Shedders lined up and says, "Time to shake things up!"
He was about to slam his foot on the ground to create a small earthquake, but Snotlout gets in again and says, "Step aside, Fishface! Fire whip!" he calls as he creates a whip out of flames that he smacks the Shedders with, but also nearly hitting Fishlegs.
"Hey! I had this! Wait, what happened to the Shedders you were fighting?" Fishlegs asks.
Suddenly, a scream was heard as Heather, in her silver Berserk Ranger suit, was grabbed by the Scale Shedders Snotlout was originally fighting before he decided to help his teammates.
Seeing this, Hiccup, wearing his black Ranger suit, comments to himself "What the crap is Snotlout doing?"
Snotlout sees Heather in danger and comments, "No worries! I got this! Nightmare Blaster!"
Snotlout was about to fire his red blaster when Fishlegs stops him. "STOP! You could hurt Heather!"
Snotlout asks, "Well then, what do you want me to do?"
"You can do nothing and let someone else handle it!" Dagur, in his violet Berserk suit, states as he whacks the Shedders in the head with his open hand and frees Heather. However, that backfired as a few more Shedders leap up and knock Dagur down onto his knees.
Astrid was about to go help out, but Snotlout's attempt at tripping a few Shedders down caused Astrid to fall onto her face.
Hiccup groans. "This is getting out of hand! Alright, end simulation!" All of the Scale Shedders fade away in a flash as they are warped back to the Dragerium's training grounds.
Snotlout stood there as the other eyes glare at him for what he did, and as he realized just that, he turns his head to the ground as shame fills his mind.
Later that same day, after Alicia confirms that no real damage was done to any of the rangers, just a few minor cuts and bruises, Hiccup goes up to Snotlout, who was just sitting on a rock mulling over what happened and says to him, "Snotlout, what happened today? You left your own post to help the others which ended up causing more trouble. We're lucky it was just a training simulation, otherwise I don't know what would've happened. What's in your mind."
Snotlout then lets out a deep sigh. "You…wouldn't understand."
Hiccup states, "I'd understand better if you told me."
Snotlout glances up at Hiccup for a second before sighing again. "I just want…more."
Hiccup blinks. "I don't follow."
Snotlout adds, "Look, the others have so much going for them. I mean, Astrid can combine powers, Dagur has that cool blaster that shoots fire, ice and lightning, Fishlegs can make earthquakes, so what does that leave me with? I mean, I'm the red ranger, aren't I? I should be the top dog, yet here I am just cruising along."
Hiccup blinks to this explanation as he hangs onto every word said. He then comments, "You know what, Snotlout…I do get it." This gets Snotlout's attention as he looks back up. "When I was starting out as a Power Ranger, I barely knew what I was doing. I made mistake after mistake left and right. Heck, there was this one time I mistook a regular watch for my Morpher, I ended up doing my Ranger Call to a regular, black-strapped watch in front of a bunch of Shedders."
Snotlout raises a brow to that. "R-really?"
Hiccup nods. "Really. There were many times when I felt like I wasn't cut out for this sort of thing, but after a lot of extensive training, I was able to find my strength and become the Ranger I am today."
That helped Snotlout a little, but he couldn't quite see what that had to do with his current situation, so he glances back down to the ground in front of him, which Hiccup could see clear as day. Hiccup then suggests, "Tell you what, it just so happens that I've been working on a new feature for your Morhpers, it's not finished yet, but-"
"I'LL DO IT! I'll test whatever you want me to!" Snotlout bursts with a look of pure joy.
Hiccup lets out a light chuckle. "I haven't even told you what the feature is yet."
Snotlout replies, "I don't care if it makes me shoot fire out of my butt! I'm in!"
Hiccup was a little weirded out and disturbed by that statement, but he appreciated the enthusiasm, so he comments, "Well then, let's get to it!"
Snotlout soon finds himself standing in the middle of the Dragerium's training ground as Hiccup calls to him, "Alright, Snotlout, are you ready for this?"
Snotlout nods. "Ready as a lion in a cheese factory."
Hiccup blinks to that odd simile. "I'll just take that as you saying you're ready. Now, in the past you and the others have been able to use the transport function to travel long distances, like from your houses to the Dragerium, but with this new feature you'll be able to travel in short transportation bursts, which could be useful in battle."
Snotlout nods. "Sounds cool! I'm in!"
Hiccup nods. "Ok, first thing you'll need to do is pick a spot to transport to."
Snotlout looks around. "Ok…how about that rock?" He points to a rock on the other side of the training ground.
Hiccup nods. "Perfect. Now, keep that spot in mind as you hit the transport button on your Morpher."
Snotlout nods back as he presses the blue Transport button on his Morpher saying, "Alright, here we go. Transport!" He is then warped to the top of said rock as he pumps his fist. "Hey! It works!"
Hiccup nods but then glances to the side. "Wait…what the heck?"
Snotlout asks, "What's that? You want me to come back. No sweat!" He hits the button again. "Transport!" And he warps right in front of a bewildered looking Hiccup. "Uh…what's with the look?"
Hiccup blinks. "See for yourself…or, yourselves." Snotlout raises a brow and turns around to see something that made him drop his jaw. Standing at both his starting point and that rock he just transported from was…Snotlout. Two of them to add to the pre-existing Snotlout.
Snotlout blinks to the sight of two more of him. "Well…that's something."
Later still, the Rangers were called back to the Dragerium as the three Snotlouts were revealed. Shocked by this, Astrid asks, "Uh, Hiccup, why is there three times as much Snotlout to deal with than normal? Because one is just fine."
Hiccup taps away at the laptop he's been using for updates like this with the all three Snotlouts red Morphers plugged into it. "It looks like a glitch in that new short transport feature. Basically when Snotlout teleported, the device couldn't recall where he started and where he ended up, so it just made two exact copies of Snotlout that he placed at both spots, and it happened for both times Snotlout teleported."
One of the Snotlouts was looking at one of the others and commenting, "Huh, so I don't have a moustache?"
The third Snotlout comments, "Personally, I don't see what the big deal is, just two more handsome guys around. Isn't that right, ladies?" He flexes for the girls in the room.
Heather looks to Hiccup and asks, "You can fix this, right?"
Hiccup replies, "I think so, but it's going to take some time. Until then, we can't use our Transport function for anything. I don't even want to imagine what would happen if there were even more Snotlouts or anyone else to deal with."
Dagur then comments, "Here's my question, how are we going to determine one Snotlout from another?"
Hiccup replies, "Good question. Ok, will the original Snotlout please step forward?"
The original Snotlout raises his hand and steps forward. "HERE!"
Hiccup nods. "Ok, you are Snotlout A…" He points to the one to Snotlout A's left, "…You are Snotlout B…" and to the third, "…which makes you Snotlout C."
Snotlout C comments, "Wait, why am I C?"
Thinking of a quick response, Fishlegs comments, "Because you're the…coolest Snotlout of the three?"
Snotlout C blinks to this. "Ok, yeah, I'm ok with this."
Fishlegs then looks back to Hiccup and asks, "Hey, did Snotlout's Drago Scale get split too?"
Hiccup replies, "Looks like it. I compared each Morpher and Scale and they really are exact copies, down to every last detail. Now, how the Red Scale can handle being split into three, I can't say for sure, so I'm also suggesting that Snotlout doesn't morph for a bit, at least until I can figure out how to reverse…this." He gestures to the Snotlout trio.
Snotlout A then says, "Alright, we simply cannot pass up this opportunity." He then clears his throat and sings, "Ba-ba-ba Ba-Barbra Ann."
Snotlout B sings with higher notes, "Ba-ba-ba Ba-Barbra Ann."
And Snotlout C adds with a higher pitched voice, "Barbra Annnnn…"
The sound of three Snotlouts singing together made Astrid rub her forehead and comment, "Aaaand, my normal Snotlout headache just became a migraine."
Hiccup comments, "I'll fix this, I just need to…oh, I see what you mean." He rubs his own head as the Snotlouts continue their song in full.
Later, after walking the many miles it takes to get to Berk from the Dragerium, the Snotlouts, who have their Morphers back, and the other Rangers minus Hiccup who was busy working on fixing the issue of having three Snotlouts as Snotlout A pats his stomach, "You know what I could go for right now?"
Snotlouts B and C reply, "Food!"
Snotlout comments, "Ah! You two know me so well!"
Astrid comments, "Guess his stomach split as well."
Dagur comments, "Fine, we'll get you three some food but you can't be seen together. You'll have to go in shifts. Starting with Snotlout A." He points to a Snotlout.
That Snoltout comments, "I'm Snotlout B."
Dagur rolls his eyes. "You get the idea."
So Snotlout A heads off with Astrid to one of their favorite quick service food joints, Ancho, and spots an older Latina worker named Gloria that he always likes to charm for more food. "Ah, Gloria, aren't you looking lovely today?"
Gloria smirks to that. "You know what flattery does to me, kid. Here ya go." She dumps and extra serving of rice and beans into the burrito bowl Snotlout A was getting.
Minutes after Astrid and Snotlout A leave, Snotlout B comes in with Fishlegs who orders the exact same thing as Snotlout A, and goes up to Gloria as well. "Ah, Gloria, aren't you looking lovely today?"
Gloria's smirk widens. "Well, someone's hungry today. Keep this up and you'll end up like your friend there." She gestures to Fishlegs and only gives Snotlout a single portion of everything.
Then Snotlout C comes in with Dagur and Heather and tries to order the same thing as the previous Snotlouts, but Gloria notices him as Snotlout C comments, "Ah, Gloria, aren't you looking lovely today?"
Gloria's smirk drops as she has had enough of seeing the same person three times in one day now. "Look, kid, I got a long line of customers that want their food too. If you want more than just come back later."
Defeated by this, and now quite hungry, Snotlout C leaves Ancho as Heather offers, "Sorry, Snotlout. If you want, you can have some of my burrito."
Dagur comments, "I don't think it's so much about not getting food as it was getting dumped by that worker gal, wasn't it?"
Snotlout C lets out a deep sigh. "Doesn't matter either way." He then notices a nearby hotdog stand and picks up something from there.
Once finished eating, Snotlout C rubs his stomach saying, "Ah, much better! Well, I guess I'll join the other Snotlouts and head home."
He was about to use the Transport feature on his Morpher when Heather stops him. "Wait!" She says as she holds out her hand. "We do NOT need more Snotlouts."
Snotlout C raises a brow to that. "Are you s-"
"YES, WE ARE SURE!" Dagur and Heather reply simultaneously.
Snotlout C holds up his hands. "Alright, alright, cool your jets. I guess I'll just walk home." He goes to find the other two Snotlouts and they head home.
Meanwhile, in the dark lair of the Scale Shedders, Vidger approaches his master, Grisly, and states, "My lord, our new weapons are coming along as planned, they should be ready in days."
Grisly nods. "Perfect. We'll send some Scale Shedders and a Scale Crusher to keep those Rangers…occupied." Vidger nods and walks away.
That evening, at Snotlout's house, the three Snotlouts walk through the door one by one and pass by Snotlout's dad, who was in the kitchen facing away from them as Snotlout A says, "Hey, Dad."
Snotlout's Dad replies, "Hey, Snotlout."
Snotlout B walks in and says, "Hey, Dad."
Snotlout's Dad replies, "Hey, Snotlout."
And Snotlout C comes in and adds, "Hey, Dad."
To which Snotlout's Dad replies, "Hey, Snotlout."
Finding something odd, Snotlout's Dad turns around with a look of confusion as Snotlout's mom comes out of the bathroom and sees his dad's bewildered look. "Something wrong?"
Snotlout's dad replies, "I just had the weirdest feeling of déjà vu."
Later still in Snotlout's bedroom, the three Snotlouts were sitting on his bed playing a very popular fighting video game, Hyper Smash Friends, and were battling each other.
Snotlout B, who sat in between the other two Snotlouts, manages to perfectly deflect a move made by Snotlout A, making Snotlout A comment, "Hey! How did you know I was going to do that?"
Snotlout B replies, "Duh, I'm you!"
Snotlout C then states, "Oh yeah? Then how do you like this?" He makes what he thought was a great move, but that was blocked successfully by Snotlout A.
Deciding to pause the game, Snotlout A looks to the other two Snotlouts and comments, "You know what? I'm kind of glad you two are here. I just feel like you guys are-"
"The first person to truly understand me, we know." Snotlouts B and C reply.
The three of them stare each other down for a good moment as a wave of emotions wash over their minds and they lean into each other, closing their eyes and puckering their lips, that is until they receive a call on their Morphers.
Snapping out of the daze he was in, Snotlout A picks up the call asking, "Go for Snotlout A."
Hiccup's nasally voice appears saying, "Snotlout A, I've got bad news, I just got a report that some Shedders have been spotted in the Marketplace." Hiccup replies as he looks into the sacred pond to see an image of several Shedders plus a Scale Crusher who had a humanoid figure and was covered in an iron armor. "Astrid and the others are already heading over there, I'm still working on fixing that glitch that made your clones but I'm sure they can handle themselves."
Snotlout B asks, "What about us?"
Hiccup replies, "As I said before, I don't know if your Drago Scale could handle three of itself morphing at once, so I think it's better that you three stay on standby in case things go haywire."
The Snotlouts look to each other with concern and a touch of relief as Snotlout C replies, "Got it, Hiccup."
Hiccup ends the call as Alicia points out, "Do you really think that three Snotlouts can sit by on standby?"
Hiccup thinks for a moment then lets out a sigh. "Yeah, I don't really know why I said anything." True to the word, the Snotlouts couldn't standby from a fight, so they all head out to the scene.
Astrid, Fishlegs, Dagur and Heather had already arrived on the scene as the Shedders and Scale Crusher were, as expected, raiding the city. Astrid comments, "Ok, I guess we'll just have to do this as the four of us. You guys ready?"
The other three nod. "Ready!"
They then hold up their Morphers as Astrid and Fishlegs call, "DRAGO FURY!"
While Dagur and Heather call, "BERSERK FURY!"
And finish with, "FIRE UP!" From each Morpher, a series of blue, yellow, violet and silver scales pool out to form each person's respective Power Ranger suit before the head of their respective dragon pops up to swallow their head.
Once morphed up, the Rangers get to work on fighting as many of the Scale Shedders as they could. They had a good start, but they soon found themselves outnumbered. "There's too many of them!" Fishlegs claims as two Shedders grab him by the armpits.
Astrid then calls into her blue Morpher, "Hiccup, we're gonna need backup!" as she ducks to avoid a kick from a Shedder.
Hiccup nods. "Well, I was hoping to finish working out a new code for the Transport function, but I guess that will have to wait. I'll be right-"
"Not to worry, we've got this." Said one of the Snotlouts as he stands before the crowd of Scale Shedders and his fellow Rangers.
Spotting Snotlout, Heather asks after spin-kicking down a Shedder that was next to her. "Snotlout, what are you doing? Hiccup said you can't be here."
Dagur glances to Heather and asks, "Heather, has Snotlout ever been known to listen to anyone but himself?" before side-punching two Shedders that were next to him.
Heather thinks about that for all of two seconds. "Fair point."
The iron armored Scale Crusher lets out a quick laugh. "As if one more Power Ranger could make any difference."
Snotlout smirks to that comment. "You're right, one additional Ranger might not be enough."
That's when a second Snotlout emerges from a nearby alley. "So how about two?"
And the third Snotlout pops out of a flipped car. "Or three?"
The Crusher stammers for a moment. "Three Red Rangers? This is NOT what I signed up for!"
Snotlout A then comments, "Well then, we got something new for you to sign."
The three Snotlouts then throw up their arms to the side as they call, "DRAGO FURY, FIRE UP!" as they bring their left arm to their chest and bring their other arm over to slap their red Morhper. From the three Morphers, series of red scales pool out to form three identical Ranger suits that surround each of the Snotlouts. Once they were morphed up, the Snotlouts call, "RED DRAGO POWER!"
From the Dragerium, Alicia, who saw the Snotlouts morphing, telling Hiccup, "It looks like the Snotlouts morphed successfully."
Hiccup taps away at his laptop saying, "Yeah, I just got a reading from their Morphers, it looks like a perfect triple morph to me. Not a single scale on their suit out of place."
The Scale Crusher then calls to the Shedders, "GET THOSE RED RANGERS!"
The Shedders surround the Snotlouts from all sides as they pull out a blaster and were about to fire before the Snotlouts call, "Triangular Fire Wall!" They stand in a triangle and slam their hands on the ground as a triangular shaped wall of fire pops up and protects them from the attacks.
The fire wall goes down as the Snotlouts call, "Nightmare Blaster!" while holding up their red blaster and firing at the Shedders, taking them out and helping out the other Rangers.
Astrid comments, "Whoa! They're in perfect sync with one another!"
Fishlegs adds, "I guess who better to be on a team with than yourself?"
Snotlout B then looks to the other Rangers and states, "Well, don't just stand there, help us out!"
The other Rangers nod and turn to face the Scale Crusher. The Crusher yells, "This isn't the last you'll see of me!" Before warping back to the Scale Shedder lair.
Astrid comments, "We look forward to seeing you again."
Back at the Dragerium, Hiccup had the Snotlouts' Morphers hooked up to his laptop as he enters a new code to help fix the issue of there being three of him. "Ok," Hiccup says. "If I did this right, then you Snotlouts should be able to merge back into one."
Each Snotlout pick up their Morpher as Fishlegs asks, "You sure you want to do this, Snotlout? I mean, you three are a pretty great match."
Having remembered some…near intimate actions from earlier, Snotlout A comments, "Yeah, we're ready!"
Astrid asks, "But don't you like having three of yourself."
The Snotlouts rub the back of their neck as Snotlout A adds, "Hey, sometimes there is such thing as too much of a good thing!"
Astrid shrugs. "Alright, if you say so."
Hiccup explains. "Ok, if all three of you choose the exact same spot to transport to and hit the Transport button at the same time, it should fuse you back into one Snotlout."
The Snotlouts nod as they pick one particular piece of stone on the Dragerium temple's floor and hit the Transport button, which sends them to that spot and merges them together, forming one single Snotlout. When that was done, Snotlout looks around asking, "D-did it work? Am I back to just myself?"
"Yep, it worked!" Astrid comments.
Snotlout then wipes his forehead. "Whew! That's a relief!" Since the thought of what was about to happen earlier couldn't leave his head, Snotlout then looks to Hiccup and asks, "Say, uh, Hiccup? Neither of those other Snotlouts happened to be some evil, alternate form of myself, right?"
Hiccup shakes his head. "Nope, not possible. Those clones were exact, identical carbon copies of you, right down to your deepest thoughts, feelings and emotions. Anything that you would say or do, they would as well."
Snotlout's eyes go as wide as his sockets will allow. "Oh…I see…"
Astrid asks, "Why do you ask? Did something happen between you three?"
Snotlout looks to see that all eyes were on him, so he quickly comes up with an excuse as he fakes a yawn and states, "You know what? It's been a bit of a long day, I think I'll just head home." He turns around and begins to walk back home as he sings to himself, "Ba-ba-ba Ba-Barbra Ann…"
As he was singing and walking away, Heather crosses her arms and comments, "You know, this whole thing really gave me a new perspective. Snotlout might be annoying, but at least there's only one of him."
Astrid adds, "Couldn't agree more. Though I could still do with no Snotlouts at all, given the choice." And with that, the sun sets on this very unusual day.
