The sound of the tv mixed with the sound of me cooking breakfast could be heard. I tried being quiet so Raphael could sleep but I didn't think I was doing a good job of it. I made quite a bit extra since Raphael was so big he may be very hungry. There were eggs, bacon, blueberry pancakes and I was finishing up the home fries. I got out some plates and set the table. I called Juli over so she could set out the cups. Then it was Roy's turn to set the silverware down.
I then heard Raph clear his throat. I turned to see him leaning on his shoulder with his arms crossed against the door frame.
"Oh I'm sorry. Did we wake you?" I said. He shook his head.
"Nah, I woke up ta da smell of food." He said quietly. He seemed to have been standing there a while.
"Here. Come sit down and see if you can eat anything." I said as I made the babies plates.
Raphael came closer to the table but hesitated and looked at the empty seat next to Roy. Roy was gobbling down his eggs and pancakes. Roy turned to see Raphael eyeing him hesitantly and then smiled.
"Tootle!" Roy said with a mouth full of food. Roy quickly swallowed his food and patted his little hand on the chair next to him.
"Me! Me!" Roy said excitedly. Raph looked at me.
"Little man wants you to sit by him." I said with an amused smile. My son was a cute little bugger that's for sure. Raphael slowly pulled out the chair and sat down.
"Uha whats a pancake?" Raphael said in a low voice still eyeing Roy. I looked up at him with a cocked eyebrow. Then picked up a fork and made Raphael's plate I made sure to put quite a bit of everything on there for him.
"Here. These are eggs, home fries there like cooked potatoes. Some bacon and blueberry pancakes. Try them. Whatever you don't eat my son will love to finish for you. Breakfast is his favorite meal." I said as I sat his plate in front of him. I put some butter and syrup on his cakes. Roy was back to scarfing down his food and Juli was eating hers. I smiled at them and drank my OJ. Raph picked up a fork and took a bite of the eggs. His eyes widened and he started shoveling them down. He did the same thing with the rest. When he got to the pancakes he just froze. Then looked at me with huge eyes. Those cakes were gone in seconds. Roy giggled at Ralph's behavior.
"Yummy!" Roy said with a mouth full of food just like Raphael. Raphael turned his head and looked at Roy. He smirked at the silly boy.
"Roy eat your food." I said as I got up to wash the dishes. Raphael finished his food and watched as I walked by. Juli got up and brought her plate to me and then was followed by Roy. Raphael gathered up the rest of the dishes and brought them over to the sink.
"Thank you." I said.
"I'll dry." He said.
"You don't have to d-"
"I want to." He said. Then picked up a towel and started drying the dishes. I stared at him for a moment then continued to wash the dishes. We stayed that way for a while. Roy came over, being silly, wrapped one tiny arm around my leg and the over around Raphael's leg. Making him freeze and wide eyed. He looked down at Roy. Roy was just a smiling at him.
"What's wrong?" I asked. He looked up at me.
"I'm na good wit kids. They usually cry if dey see me." He said.
"Mama? Waph pay?" He said looking at me. Raphael stared at him with curiosity. I smiled.
"Sorry, Roy boy but Raphael needs to rest he still has a booboo." I said. Raphael looked up at me and smirked with a raised eyebrow. I blushed.
Roy ran back to Juli who had gotten her coloring book out and was quietly coloring.
"Sissy me too?" He asked picking up a crayon. She got up and got out his own book and placed it in front of him.
"Here, Roy. One crayon at a time. Okay, Roy?" She said. He nodded and began coloring his picture.
I turned my attention back to the dishes and putting them back in there place.
"Sa how'd ya fine me?" Raph asked as he handed me the last dish.
"It was actually Diesel that found you. He has been trained as a security and protection dog. He alerted me that something was wrong so we checked it out." I said.
Raph looked at me again as if I had two heads.
"What?" I asked.
"So basically ya sayin dat ya pup barked an ya went out in ya a storm just ta check it out?" He said as he leaned against the kitchen counter with his arms folded on his chest slightly frowning at me.
I smiled sheepishly
"Yyyes?" I replied.
"Dats not safe, plus ya coulda been hurt." He said.
I looked at him with a 'are you serious' look.
"I think you should rest a little more." I said sassily patting his forearm.
"Nah tired." He grunted. I smiled sweetly at him.
"I didn't say to sleep. I said to rest." I said as went to the kid's room to get their clothes out for the day. Grabbing both jeans and T-shirts plus some socks, I walked back into the living area. Roy and Juli were still coloring but Raph had sat himself on the sofa just watching them. Roy turned to Raph.
"Color wif me?" He asked Raphael. Raph looked at him curiously. Roy handed him a red crayon and scooted over so Raph could color too. Juli looked up from her picture and watched as Raph hesitated but slowly lowered himself to the little table. Grunting slightly in pain he held his side as he finally reached the floor. Roy went back to his picture.
"Did bad guys hurt you?" Juli asked. He looked over at her and saw she was a bit concerned. Raph looked up at her.
"Ya don have ta worry abou dat. No body gonna hurt ya while ya ma's here and I na gonna let anythin happen ta ya either." He said in a very serious tone. Juli stared at him for a moment then just nodded and went back to coloring. Raph looked at her then at Roy.
"Um . . . What ya colorin?" Rash asked. Roy turned and smiled.
"Is a dinosraw?" Roy giggled. Raph looked at Roy with a raised eyebrow. Juli looked at Raph's face.
"He said it's a dinosaur." She said.
Raph just continue looking confused. Did he really not know what a dinosaur was?
"Juli. Roy. Go get dressed." I said as I walked completely into the room. They came and got the clothes and went to change.
"What's a Dino?" He asked. I smiled at him.
"A dinosaur is a creature that lived a long long time ago, almost like a reptile but they are extinct. They don't exist anymore."
Raphael looked at me sideways. I just laughed.
